This ambitious $7 billion redevelopment project aims to create a bustling urban hub spanning 37 acres across 16 city blocks.
Lougheed Town Centre in the past
Originally opened in 1969 as a $15 million shopping complex, Lougheed Mall was a pioneer in the era of suburban malls, boasting a massive parking lot for 2,600 cars and anchor tenants like Woolco, The Bay, and Safeway. It was a trendsetter, featuring Canada's first three-screen movie theater and a "moving sidewalk" to facilitate shopping cart use between levels.
Growing Retail and Dining Hub
Fast forward to today, and The City of Lougheed is evolving into a modern, pedestrian-friendly destination offering best-in-class homes, shops, services, dining options, meticulously planned parks, and public plazas. The vision is to create a lively, mixed-use community that caters to the needs and wants of the area, providing local favorites, hidden gems, and culinary diversity.
Currently, The City of Lougheed boasts over 90 shops and services, including major retailers like London Drugs, Walmart Supercentre, and Sport Chek, catering to daily needs and wants. Nice mall, been around for a long time. We visited Sportchek, which was little hard to find.
The mal parking at the moment is affected by the apartment building be constructed next door.

Whether you're here for shopping, dining, or just to hang out, the City of Lougheed never disappoints. It’s easily one of my favorite spots in the city!
