Beaty Biodiversity Museum Reviews

out of 5 10/10 world class biological natural history museum, can easily spend several days here. Young families, admire the blue whale, then go straight to the very back for gentle touching gallery where volunteers would be happy to bring out more to fascinate. Free extended hours entry here every last Thurs of month: check their official calendar first. Please note UBC parking is still extremely expensive despite the museum being free. Family memberships available.

House of Bones, Bugs, and Mysterious Jars! I'm from the US and really enjoyed the way specimens were displayed in cabinets with drawers you can open to discover more. The cabinets alternated windows at adult eye level and kid eye level. The timelines are helpful for thinking about how long Earth's history is compared to human history. There is a room where you can touch specimens and look more closely at some items.
Budget tip - If you go to the Museum of Anthropology on the same day, you get a discount on this museum. You can easily see one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Pretty nice place to visit. So many animal and plant skeletons. It was neat! Went with our toddler who was a little s are of the skeletons. We had some food at the UBC restaurants, then went to Spanish banks beach and went back home. It was a nice day out overall.

It was awesome! Right in the beginning you have this massive blue whale skeleton. Then you have many many other animals to see, touch, analyze, draw and much more. The kids had so much fun!

Absolutely loved this place. Their collection was significantly more extensive than expected. What I liked the most was that you can open some of the drawer and touch some of the specimens.
