My friends and I were there celebrating my birthday. Their house special seafood tower was stunning and delicious! There were variety of seafoods stacked in a 3-tier plates. The service was good except that night seems to be short staffed and our waiter was often not around or busy attending other tables at the same time. We still had a great time and definitely will come back again!

We had the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner thanks to our server, Nathan. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. The delicious seafood display from the Blue Water Cafe, along with the chamomile tea and white wine, made the evening even more special. And let's not forget the delightful dessert that Nathan recommended – it was the perfect way to end our meal! Nathan's professionalism and hospitality truly made our evening unforgettable.

It’s our first time there and we’re celebrating our wedding anniversary. Phil was attentive and enthusiastic. He knows the menu well and makes good suggestions. Helped us take a few good photos too! =) Food was simply heavenly! Wagyu beef melts in your mouth and the seafood tower was a delight to our palates. We had a fantastic time and will definitely visit again!

This is it. This is the place you’ll want to put high on your list if you want fresh fish and seafood.
Vancouver overall is a great place for seafood. But Blue Water Cafe levels up when it comes to sashimi and other sushi experience.
Every piece of fish we had was so fresh and has the melts-in-your-mouth quality to them! For one of our dinners (we came here a few times!), we sat at the sushi bar and got to watched experienced sushi chefs prepare orders. It was amazing.
Another night, we dined at the bar and also had a great time. The bar staff were friendly, professional, attentive, and have a great sense of humor.
Beyond the staff who waited on us, everyone at Blue Water Cafe were stellar. They clearly have the masterclass in hospitality.

Overall, great seafood and wide variety of menu options to choose from. I’d suggest trying the halibut main dish. The patio is awesome! I found the service very slow unfortunately. We waited about 30 mins in between appetizers and the main dishes which was a buzzkill but aside from that, it was a good experience. Seems like they have a few too many tables to serve during peak times. The oysters were great.

This is a marvelous place to spend a lazy afternoon having lunch. The service was super friendly and professional. The terrace was cozy and shady, which was extra enjoyable during a hot summer day. The food was great, with excellent vegetarian choices. The latte was well prepared too. Overall warm recommendations for this place.

I have to say a huge thank you to our server, Darin as well as the female manager (I didn't get her name) for accommodating my dietary restrictions (for medical reasons). They went above and beyond to make sure I had something to order. Very caring staff. And as always, delicious food.

Walked by here around lunch after a workout class and really enjoyed it! Surprised by the reviews since we had a lovely, attentive server, Devan G, and we all enjoyed our dishes a lot! The outdoor seating was very comfortable and shady. We came right at opening at 11:30 am and it got pretty lively around 12 outside.

Cactus Club had been on my list for a while and had been hyped up by people on social media, sadly my experience here didn't match up.
The ambience is great, I can especially imagine it during a sports event.
Being a vegetarian the options were very limited. The szechuan lettuce wraps was probably the best item we had. We also tried the garden burger (it does come with a patty even though the menu doesn't mention the patty) and the crispy tofu bowl both of which were okay and didn't particularly leave an impression on us. We asked if we could sub the patty with the impossible patty and we were refused, which kind of surprised me. I also had the espresso martini and most other places would have more alcohol in it.
The service was mostly great but on at least two occasions we had to give reminders (for hot sauce etc and not for the main food) and so the third time when we needed something we decided to just skip the hassle.
Overall, it might be a one time place for me.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Brix & Mortar! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service that truly made us feel special. The staff was incredibly fast and professional, making sure every detail was taken care of throughout the night.
The decor and atmosphere were absolutely stunning, creating the perfect intimate setting for a date night. The live music on a Wednesday evening was such a delightful touch and really elevated the whole experience. We enjoyed the $45 Early Fall Dinner set menu, which was an incredible value for a 3-course meal.
Without a doubt, Brix & Mortar is one of the top 10 best all-around restaurants in Vancouver. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect evening out. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

I had an amazing meal at Brix and Mortar! The Yarrow Meadow duck breast was absolutely incredible—flavorful and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is perfect for special occasions or a romantic date night, creating a lovely backdrop for a memorable evening. The only downside is that parking can be a bit challenging, so plan ahead. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Brix and Mortar, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Both my wife and I, along with all our guests, were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service we received. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the event.
A special shoutout to Jennifer, the owner of the restaurant, who went above and beyond to make our day perfect. She was hands-on, making sure everything flowed seamlessly and kept us on schedule. Her dedication and attention to detail were truly remarkable.
From the beautiful venue to the impeccable service, Brix and Mortar exceeded all our expectations. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day. Highly recommended for any event!

went here with my boyfriend for our 2 year anniversary, and the host knew and said congrats to us, however our server either didn’t know or just didn’t acknowledge it. aside from that, the food was fantastic, we got the root beer braised beef poutine to share to start (highly recommend) , i then got the salmon and my bf got the chicken breast. we sat in the quart yard and it is stunning, the whole place is really. we had a gas candle lit on our table for ambiance. someone was constantly refilling our water, the water tasted like metal unfortunately. for dessert we got the coffee crème brûlée. (it was not free for anyone wondering) we asked our server if they did anything special with deserts for anniversaries and she seemed annoyed, but she said they put a piece of chocolate with a message on it. overall it’s an aesthetic higher priced restaurant if you feel like spoiling yourself or others. don’t expect a free dessert for a celebration.

Enjoyable night out!
Booked for a family get-together before heading off on the next legs of our journey. Accommodating staff and with friendly welcome. Advertised as modern Canadian and included, not surprisingly, a mixture of cuisines. Not sure if everything quite 'fitted together' on the menu, but interesting! I had a lovely piece of well cooked ling cod, with nduja, olives & tomatoes - punchy; and aged cheddar grits - too strong a flavour for my liking and did not complement the delicate taste of the fish unfortunately! My wife had a similar comment where the sides were competing, rather than complementing, with the main event. All-in-all though, a pleasant evening.

I liked the food a lot here. One of the better Lebanese places I’ve been to for sure!y only complaint was that the portions were a little small. We got one of the tasting platters for 3 people and felt like it was on the smaller side for an entree. And defiantly quite pricey!
Service was really great, our server took really good care of us and even brought over a few wine tasters to make sure we enjoyed our meal and found a wine that paired well!
Overall , I’d go back again as the food was really good!

I love this restaurant. So pretty inside. I ordered my favorite Garden Falafel and my husband ordered the Shrimp. Be warned that 'Mezza' means SMALL. These photos are of saucer-sized plates, not dinner-sized plates

I tired Lamb Kafta and the rice was a choice. But it came cold and I couldn’t eat it as the coldness spoilt the taste.
Chicken Shish Tawook was great in taste and tried potato on it replacing rice. It was the best combination.
Also tried Jalapeno hummus that comes with pita. It was $15 and felt that was too much for that plate of hummus.

After reading the reviews I decided I had to try it when we came to Vancouver. It lived upto everything, food and service was amazing and very well made. The whole restaurant had a very homelike feel to it which I enjoyed a lot. Everything was very well priced as well within the 20-30$ range.

Warm and cozy atmosphere, with great cocktails and tasty food. Server was very friendly and helpful answering questions about the menu. A good portion of their menu is gluten-free which is a bonus. The portions were larger than I had expected, but that's not a bad thing! Will definitely stop by again when I am in the city.

I was traveling from out of country when I came here. We picked this place from some online recommendations. Single handedly the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. Wait staff was wonderful, food was absolutely on point, the drinks we had were equally fantastic. Everything was worth it's cost. I recommend this place for any date, birthday or any special occasion that you want a great dining experience.

I wouldn’t say it’s amazing, but definitely above average.
Interior is clean and modern, nothing really eye catching. Service is friendly, but not attentive enough. Overall food is good, savoury, a few dishes are great, but nothing really give me the wow.
Anyway, good spot to have a chill night with friends.

Really good stuff here! I don’t like the fishy after taste of eating seafood but surprisingly I had none of it eating the oysters and the lobster. The sliders were delicious! I ordered lobster poutine, it’s really tasty. All the portion sizes were quite big and filling. I tried their oysters and they’re indeed very fresh. Staff was also friendly and attentive, and the food came in fast. I highly recommend!

5 Stars – Exceptional Seafood Experience!
Rodney's Oyster House is a seafood lover's paradise! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a lively, welcoming atmosphere and the irresistible aroma of fresh seafood. The oysters are incredibly fresh and perfectly shucked – a must-try for anyone who loves the briny, crisp taste of the ocean. Their menu boasts an impressive selection of seafood, from succulent lobster to deliciously grilled prawns, all prepared to perfection.
The service was outstanding. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The vibe is laid-back yet vibrant, making it the perfect spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions.
And let’s not forget the drinks! Their cocktail selection is fantastic, especially when paired with the oysters – I highly recommend the Caesar. Whether you’re a seasoned oyster connoisseur or trying them for the first time, Rodney’s makes sure you leave satisfied and craving more.
Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be returning!

We came here for their low tides menu. We’ve ordered beer for drinks.
For food: Oysters were fresh and great. You get different Tabasco and other sauce to add flavors if desired. Sliders and crab dip were delicious. Halibut bite was okay.

Amazing dine-in experience for my friend’s birthday!! Our server, Michael (Mikey D) gave us one of the best customer service that I have ever received. The restaurant was packed on Friday night, which might be quite loud for some people that want calm and relaxing environment. The oysters were super fresh and creamy, and the Hokkaido Hotate spaghetti was delicious as well! Will try coming here again during the happy hours next time!!

Second time I have been here. Came during the ‘low tide’ where oysters were $2.95 each. The place was rather crowded but that sort of adds to the ambience. We booked a table and was given one upstairs. The decorations in this place was awesome.
We ordered 2 oysters each; the oysters were fresh but small. We also tried their crab dip which was very yummy. It only came with 2 small garlic bread which was not enough to finish even 1/3 of the dip. We also ordered their grandpa Oddy halibut bites and mushroom calamari. We liked their mushrooms which came in a good portion. But the best dish would have to be the mini lobster and shrimp sliders. This was really delicious.
The service was rather slow but the place was packed. I really love the ambience here and the dishes were not too bad. Pricey but it is seafood after all.

WOW what an experience!! Came here for a friend’s birthday and we all had a blast from the start to finish. The service is absolutely top notch, we were instantly greeted and seated by the host, everyone smiled at me when I walk in the room, our server was funny and made good suggestions, the owner came out to ask how the food was which felt personal and welcoming, everyone served us was attentive and friendly, they even offer to divide the food for you, have not experienced service like this in a very very long time. This is the standard Vancouver restaurants should look up to when they ask for minimum 18% tips. I must add that their machine doesn’t have fixed percentage, it gives you the option to select either amount or percentage then enter the number as you see fit. This is very rare especially considering it’s fine dining, it is definitely a bonus when the tip culture nowadays is out of control. With that being said, for their excellent service and food, everyone including myself is more than happy to tip generously.
Now the food, the BEST pasta I’ve ever had. The sauce, the texture of the noodles, the portion of the meat, everything in one bite is perfection. We shared the pacific octopus as appetizer, the sauce was unique and surprisingly good, the octopus was very tender. The lamb rack we shared was already separated by the chef when served, initially I was skeptical to get a medium rare cooked lamb but it turned out to be so tender and juicy. The cocktails and desserts were super delicious as well.
I would like to come back to try more dishes before they close down 😋

Our first time here for dinner by the marina -good location. 5/5 for presentation throughout.
Excellent tomato salad with basil puree.
Ham and pea soup lacked taste did not meet expectations - maybe a tad more salt?
The Wild Prawn procencale on zucchini spaghetti was good but not outstanding.
The whole Sea Bream (like sea bass) was my first ever bream I think, and pretty good once you work around the bones skillfully.

Had brunch at Provence Marinaside before the BC Lions Game last Sunday.
Conveniently located near BC Place and the Parq Casino, Provence Marinaside is situated next to the marina, with beautiful views of the water.
I had a 2pm reservation for brunch, and we got one of the last tables on the outdoor patio.
It was a beautiful day, and the restaurant was packed.
My buddy tried each of the three different Caesars they offer on the menu, and I had the ham and cheese omelette.
Good spot to hit before a game.
