5 Star Rating The place is small but very nice, the service is good, they serve you very well and they didn't take long to prepare the food, and the food is very tasty, of course I could only try one, but I hope to go back and try the others, since I am interested in trying the other dishes. Of course I will go back and be able to bring my friends.

5 Star Rating Hot dog with a twist. Quick serve counter. Went early evening and our food came out relatively fast. It did get a little busy later on as tourists and locals started trickling in. Menu also had Japanese styled fries (seaweed), desserts, and takoyaki. Clean restroom with an additional outside sink for handwashing. Outside table with seats during nice weather.

5 Star Rating My favorite steak house. It perfectly captures the essence of a city that never sleeps. The atmosphere is dark and moody, with a touch of elegance that makes you feel like you've stepped into a noir film. The decor is a blend of industrial chic and classic sophistication, with dim lighting and plush seating. The steaks are nothing short of spectacular. I ordered a Chicago-style prime steak, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The live music was great as well.

5 Star Rating First time going to Gotham and we loved it! I need to start by thanking Cindy. She was outstanding, patiently guiding us to the best experience possible. Knowledgeable about every item, truthful about portions served and helped us to enjoy with such a calm, friendly and warm attitude. Simply the best!! The food... absolutely from heaven! I don't think I have ever eaten such a delicious meal, from drinks to dessert. We shared a bone in steak with some extras and for dessert a Key Lime Pie and Ice Cream Sunday. We already have plans to repeat soon, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Gotham was simply incredible, I cannot recommend enough!

5 Star Rating We were recently in the lounge to catch the end of their social hour before heading to a concert nearby and it was outstanding! Won, our amazing bartender gave the most wonderful service!! Great recommendations while also providing laughs and charm! We sat at the bar and had such a great time! The food and drinks came quickly and were delicious!! We had oysters and champagne, the feature cocktail as well as the garlic shrimp and steak sandwich. I’ve been a few times and have never been disappointed. Will definitely return! Always great service and food! Won, thank you so much for the fantastic experience!! You are an absolute delight! What a great team!

5 Star Rating Gotham Steakhouse & Bar is a gem nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC, offering a remarkable dining experience. The location itself is superb, easily accessible from various points within the downtown area, making it a convenient choice for locals and visitors alike. The outdoor area is where Gotham truly shines. It’s a cozy, inviting space with a relaxed ambiance, enhanced by the warmth of the outdoor chimney fireplaces. These features add a classy, upscale touch, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and casual gatherings. As for the food, Gotham delivers on its promise of extraordinary dining. We opted for the New York steak paired with incredibly creamy mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection, with each bite melting in your mouth a testament to the quality and skill behind this steak. The service further elevates the experience. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. Their friendly demeanor and professionalism made us feel right at home. P.S try the Key Lim pie! Blowwww!!

4 Star Rating A Near-Perfect Michelin Star Experience—Almost Dining at Hawksworth was an experience that flirted with perfection—until the final act. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with beautiful lighting that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The service was poised, knowledgeable, and accommodating… at least until the very end. Opting for the fixed four-course menu, I was treated to a symphony of flavors. The appetizer was an intricate balance of textures, the second course—a delicate bison dish—was flawlessly executed, and the third, a masterpiece desert, left me eagerly anticipating the finale. Except… it never came. Instead, I was handed the bill! Somewhere between clearing the last plate and presenting the bill, the promised fourth course simply vanished. I initially thought it was an intentional pause, but when the waiter reappeared, it was with the check, not my final dish. When I inquired, he looked genuinely surprised, muttered something about a “mix-up,” and " I forgot" and offered an apologetic smile and brought the last course. While the food itself was outstanding and the setting sublime, that glaring misstep was hard to overlook. A Michelin-starred experience should be flawless, and for a set menu, every dish should make it to the table.

4 Star Rating Last night was my first time dined here which has a solid reputation, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambiance and service were definitely the highlights — the staff was friendly, attentive, and the overall vibe was warm and comfortable. It’s definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. As for the food, it was decent, but not quite as impressive as I expected. I ordered the main dish, which was good, but it was on the smaller side. Honestly, if I hadn’t added on a side, I might’ve left still hungry. The flavors were fine, but nothing that really stood out or wowed me. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I don’t know if I’d rush back based on the food alone. Still, if you're looking for a comfortable spot with great service, it’s worth considering.

5 Star Rating Came here for the New Year’s Eve dinner. Our favorite was the snack and dessert. Everything was at excellent temps which didn’t go unnoticed. Especially with the full dinning room. We enjoyed our time here and already have recommended others to pop by. We both didn’t care for the main but that was probably personal preference. The staff were attentive and helpful. They brought a DJ in this year and that was a great way to ring in the new year!

2 Star Rating Came for the Valentine’s Day set dinner for $195/pp. Overall food quantity/portions were minuscule. Felt like the overall theme of the food was pretentious rather than trying to satiate. The duck breast was tough. The lobster bisque was lukewarm which was disappointing considering the lobster was quite fresh; a waste of the quality of ingredients. The champagne palette cleanser was a bit too sweet for my liking. I would give the dessert a solid 5/5 as it had a delicious combination of flavours and assembled beautifully. The espresso martinis were well made but the server spilled it on our table but had them quickly remade. Overall this was a disappointing experience for a very high end meal during a special occasion.

4 Star Rating We ordered the tasting menu, the last 4 pictures are all the courses. The scallops tastes amazing, and the bison is something not very easy to find and it tastes good. I love the foie gras. The duck tastes OKAY but it’s a bit oily to me. Maybe the duck can pair with some sour jams flavors? The duck course they used to serve back in 2019 was AMAZING and I wish I can have something similar to that 🥹

5 Star Rating Amazing service and food! We arrived early for our dinner reservations and enjoyed Happy Hour upstairs. Karen was Amazing and took all my food allergies very seriously. The happy hour cocktails (2 ounces) for only $11. Great price. We made our way downstairs for dinner where Andy was our waiter. He was personable and informative. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic. The room is amazing and unchanged since the early 60s. We will absolutely be back. 5 stars all around! Great work!

5 Star Rating We’ve been to the one in Whistler several times and thought we’d try the one in Vancouver. Both are fantastic, the only way this one trumps Whistler is the cool building it’s in, and its history. It is two levels and there are plenty of intimate dining spots. We can recommend the French Onion soup and the New York steak sandwich. Hys is great if you enjoy fantastic steak and red wine.

5 Star Rating i’ve been here a couple times with my family and the food is consistently high quality and delicious. my favourite thing on the menu is definitely the cheese toast, it’s so soft, warm, CHEESY, and indulgent. i definitely recommend getting it if you come, it’s the perfect way to start your meal. the beef wellington is also fantastic, it’s really well cooked and the crust was so buttery and flaky. the asparagus was soft and paired really well with the wellington. service was also great, as expected from a restaurant like this. this is a great restaurant to eat at if you’re celebrating something or looking for a formal night out !

There are traditions and finesse dripping down from its old British deemed walls. The menu is well put and expensive. 4 Star Rating It was a nice meal First, service was great. Everything is well attended. Very good services Atmosphere was pretty much a steakhouse high end type Most tables are celebrating birthday indeed and nice for dating Food Ok, the cheese bread is a must try The salad was also very very good The Wellington steak, well, very nicely cooked Just I don’t feel too comfortable with it as it looks too rare inside to me. However, the beef texture and taste is very top quality Last is dessert which is perfect I love the whole thing, just it won’t let me give a 5. Just not the right 5, may be 4.5 star? A bit more detailed on whole services including front desk greeting, the table is fully ready meaning the tools, folk knife etc is right position and symmetric. Don’t let customer feels it’s a rush putting together at start. But I would still highly recommended

5 Star Rating Good location very close to the mall and the train station. The dining room is upstairs, pretty steep stairs. It's very nice to sit up there. Much better than the lounge downstairs, unsure if it's accessible by a wheelchair as I did not see an elevator. The washroom is very nice and clean. The bread and the vegan butter to start! Probably the highlight of the meal! No dairy free or gluten-free dessert options. Minimal vegetarian options, but makes sense considering it as a steakhouse. The mac & cheese was OK nothing to write home about. The steak initially came overcooked and then undercooked, but I am not complaining as they did take it off the bill. Good location for a date night music was not too loud and pretty intimate experience. The service was very attentive and quick. Good location for a birthday party or celebration. They do have large tables that can accommodate big groups with dedicated servers.

5 Star Rating Shabusen is by far the best restaurant of this kind in the city. Service is always great and even when they’re full and you need to wait, they take the time to let you know how long you need to wait for your table and the best is they don’t lie… if they say 10 minutes your table will be ready in 10 minutes. You can ask any server for anything and they will help you right away and even if they see you’re missing something they ask. They also clean your table on the go and a lot of times you don’t even notice. Really professional service. Cost is one of the best parts because for all the food you can eat and the quality is totally worth it. High recommended.

3 Star Rating While wandering around the area near Downtown during New Year’s, we decided to revisit Shabusen . This restaurant has been around for many years, but it had also been quite a while since our last visit. For lunch, they offered two options—pure Japanese cuisine AYCE or a combination of Japanese cuisine and Korean BBQ AYCE. We opted for the latter. Overall, the service was relatively quick, but the freshness of the ingredients left something to be desired. The sashimi in particular, lacked flavor and tasted somewhat bland. The BBQ selection was also quite limited, offering only pork, beef, chicken, and spicy pork. The variety felt uninspired, and the overall taste was just average. In terms of value for money, the prices were reasonable, but apart from that, there wasn’t much to highlight. Additionally, parking was not very convenient. If you choose to park on the street, it costs around $6 per hour. Final Thoughts: Shabusen is an acceptable option if you’re looking for a quick and simple meal, but if you’re after higher-quality dishes with more variety, you might want to explore other restaurants.

I enjoyed the food and there are a variety of different dishes available. Parking is difficult as it is located downtown. I would recommend coming during happy hour if possible as you do get more value, but it will get busy quick.

4 Star Rating We came here for a mid-week dinner while visiting Vancouver. The restaurant itself is very sleek and beautiful. Our server was very friendly but unfortunately not very attentive. The food was good, but not outstanding. I got the salmon - it was good but a bit on the salty side. The mashed potatoes and peas did complement the dish well though. My partner got the Joey Classic Steak and said it was great. We split the molten chocolate cake - it was just ok - a bit on the small side and underwhelming.

5 Star Rating Come here and spend ALL your money. After having a horrid experience down the road at the Rec Room Granville, we walked down and Joey’s was able to take our party of 10 on a Saturday. We briefly told the manager what happened and immediately we felt heard and respected. Our cake that we brought with us was taken to the kitchen to be put into the fridge til after our meal. They offered us a round of glasses of champagne since it was a 3 person birthday party and seated us in a perfect section so we could be together. Our waitress Izzy, incredible is not a good enough word to describe her. Polite, heard our story and sympathized, was right on the ball every step of the way. When asked the usual annoying “what do you recommend?” She gave us the best options and wasn't joking around. The blackened chicken and burgers were excellent. Before our food even came, she was right back with drinks and even surprised us with a round of shots on her. And to boot, i got a non alcoholic shot that wasn't just water. Food followed. Clean up followed. Our cake with candles and song. Amazing. We didn’t ask for special treatment. We literally just wanted to sit together and have a meal and drinks and our cake to celebrate our birthdays. And this restaurant…this restaurant….has now made it an impossible task to follow. I cannot wait to tell all my coworkers, friends and clients to come there for an amazing time. Thank you from all of us.

4 Star Rating Drove to the Met for dinner with someone staying in the hotel. There’s no one on parking duty at 5 pm, so we had to wait a while to get someone from front desk to help. Happy Hour is 3-6 pm, but the plates were only $1 cheaper than the appetizer menu, so doesn’t really seem worth it. They also advertised $6 happy hour beer but charged us $7 for some reason. Had the crispy Taiwanese chicken and pork belly as an appetizer. The Taiwanese chicken was very tasty, but you can’t really have bad Taiwanese chicken. Could’ve passed on the pork belly. A bit tart for me. I had the burger and it was decent. It came with very tasty and crispy fries. Partner had the Calabrian pizza, which was very tasty too. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, which was very good. It came with ginger ice cream, which gave it a nice kick. Fine experience, they have 50% off wine on Sundays, which is nice. Probably won’t return since I can get equally good food elsewhere without taking a trip downtown. If you live downtown, worth a visit, as prices are decent for good quality food.

3 Star Rating Came on a Friday at around 4:30pm for a quick bite. Sliders: pretty dry and sad. The buns were soft but not buttery Tuna tataki: very fishy (yes I know it's fish) but in a bad way. Like bad ocean flavours and the green sauce did not help. I did like the marinated cucumber and the edamame. That went well with it Calamari: best dish of the night. The sauce was not good but the calamari was fried perfectly. Not overly chewy and pretty tender. Batter wasn't too heavy Overall service was good. Food was Mediocre but the atmosphere was great. Not too loud as there weren't too many customers.

3 Star Rating I went with my boyfriend for the Valentine’s Day to have dinner. Staff are nice people and polite. However; they served us a wrong order for the main course and we had to ask them to change it. The food quality was not good enough for what we paid at that night. But the drinks are good. Also, the room is so dark at the upper level.

5 Star Rating I had a wonderful experience at the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver. Hotel is extremely clean with large bedrooms and bathrooms. Their Diva restaurant breakfasts are superb, with very healthy options and meals prepared within minutes. Staff are all wonderful. Great hotel for business travel or personal.
