The hot dogs were decent, but nothing extraordinary. One of them lacked flavor, which might have been due to the bread not being as fluffy or bouncy as expected. The service was okay, though the food took a bit longer to come out than I would have liked.

A friend told me he drove 3 hours from Seattle to get this. After eating one I finally get why. The mayo is paired with a lean sausage causing it to actually be fairly balanced in terms of fat vs lean content. It's a well constructed hot dog.

When traveling, we reserve an extra meal for the end of the evening...after dinner, after dessert, after the late night cocktail...I'm not sure what it's called, but in Canada it often means "vegetarian hot dog" because the nation is rich with they-hardly-ever-close hot dog places, always with a veggie dog option. That was our experience in cities in the east of Candada, and to our delight, here in Vancouver where Japadog services up a zillion different unique Japanese hot dog combinations, with a veggie dog ready to put in place, and, for heaven's sake, they're open until 3am.
We were in Vancouver for 3 nights, and, sure enough, we went to Japadog 3 times. If you're there before 10pm you can sit in their small dining area. After 10 you order at the street window and there are a couple of stone bench/planter areas right in front you can park yourself.
They have a separate vegetarian menu which is not fully on display in the restaurant, but IS available when you use their electronic ordering tablet (and viewable on their website.) That threw us off a little on our first visit when we knew we had seen the veggie options on the website, but it was before 10 and we were ordering from a live person who only mentioned 2 different options. (There are a lot more than 2!) No matter, over the course of our three nights we tried the Veggie Croquette (made with fried potatoes), the Veggie Oroshi, and the Veggie Terimayo (With no mayo). All looked unique and tasted good and served our late-night extra-meal stomach reserved for just such occasions.
The fact that it was almost across the street from our hotel was a bonus. (Or a disaster depending on how you look at it.) Please, Japadog...you have many locations...what would it take for you to open up just one more here in Newhall, California, and also be open until 3am...pretty please?

We heard about Japadog while researching for our Vancouver trip. And I don't get the hype. We stopped by on a Monday at 12, and it wasn't too busy yet but people were slowly starting to trickle in after we ordered. We got an order of the 3pcs of Takoyaki, Kurobuta Terimayo (Kurobuta Pork, teriyaki sauce, japanese mayo, fried onions, seaweed) and the Hot Spicy (beef, special original spicy sauce, lettuce). The Takoyaki was okay, but I'm not really a huge fan of Takoyaki to being with because it's always a soggy mess. This was no different. The Kurobuta Terimayo had way too much mayo on it. If it wasn't for that, it could have been pretty good because the hot dog itself had a nice snap and flavor to it. The beef hot dog was just mid. The 'spicy sauce' it came with was more like a hot relish than it was a sauce, and there was SO much of it. Some if it accidentally fell off onto the table, which made it slightly better but not by much.
Maybe we just didn't order the right items but I don't think I would try it again. Plus for something as simple as a hot dog, these things ain't cheap!

I liked their foods when I tried them in Toronto. I was glad to come to the flagship store in this time. We had Wagyu Menchikatsu, Avocado, black sesame shake, lemonade and matcha parfait. I really liked “Avocado”, which has house made sausage, cream cheese and Mayo. I heard it’s quite popular for locals. Menchikatsu is much bigger than we expected! It was juicy and satisfying. Staff were very friendly even if they were busy. If you are in Vancouver, please give it a try these Japanese styled hotdogs at this store.
Wagyu Menchikatsu $14.98 Avocado $9.89, black sesame shake, lemonade and matcha parfait

We were recently in the lounge to catch the end of their social hour before heading to a concert nearby and it was outstanding! Won, our amazing bartender gave the most wonderful service!! Great recommendations while also providing laughs and charm! We sat at the bar and had such a great time! The food and drinks came quickly and were delicious!! We had oysters and champagne, the feature cocktail as well as the garlic shrimp and steak sandwich. I’ve been a few times and have never been disappointed. Will definitely return! Always great service and food! Won, thank you so much for the fantastic experience!! You are an absolute delight! What a great team!

We recently went to Gotham's Steakhouse in Vancouver on weekday evening. The ambiance was perfect for the private occasion, providing a warm and elegant atmosphere that made the evening truly special.
The service was outstanding—attentive, respectful, and accommodating to all our needs. The staff ensured that every detail was taken care of, allowing us to focus on honoring the memory of our loved one.
The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish, from the perfectly cooked steaks to the delectable sides, was prepared with great care and flavor. The quality and presentation of the meals were top-notch.
Thank you for giving us a private corner to allow us to reflect and toast our loved one.

Incredible dinner last night! The BC wine list was on point especially with 40% off sparkling wine at happy hour. The beet and burrata salad, appetizer wagyu, steaks and all our sides to our dessert were spot on. We had Luke as our server who was genuine to talk to, knew when to come over or when to give us space to enjoy our evening. The piano player added to the ambiance as well. We have 2 young kids at home and last nights experience could not have gone any better for us for a relaxing and enjoyable night of great wine and food. Thank you and we can’t wait to come back!!

Gotham Steakhouse & Bar is a gem nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC, offering a remarkable dining experience. The location itself is superb, easily accessible from various points within the downtown area, making it a convenient choice for locals and visitors alike.
The outdoor area is where Gotham truly shines. It’s a cozy, inviting space with a relaxed ambiance, enhanced by the warmth of the outdoor chimney fireplaces. These features add a classy, upscale touch, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and casual gatherings.
As for the food, Gotham delivers on its promise of extraordinary dining. We opted for the New York steak paired with incredibly creamy mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection, with each bite melting in your mouth a testament to the quality and skill behind this steak.
The service further elevates the experience. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. Their friendly demeanor and professionalism made us feel right at home.
P.S try the Key Lim pie! Blowwww!!

We came on a Thursday for happy hour. Half of the tables were full when we got here and by the end of our time, the lounge area was completely full.
We ordered the cheese toast ($8.25), beef burger ($16.50), oysters ($18.90) and sticky toffee pudding ($16.25). The cheese toast was served nice and hot. Very sinful and delicious. Always a classic at Gothams and Hys.
The beef burger came with fries and was not bad. The beef wasn't overly dry. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I would order this again as it was a good deal.
Sticky toffee pudding was a bit too sweet for me but the texture was good.
Service was really friendly and nice. Food came out fast and I didn't feel rushed during happy hour.
Would recommend for happy hour. The menu isn't the biggest but it's good enough to satisfy your cravings

My new favorite Happy Hour in Vancouver. They call it Cocktail Hour, but it's really great. The drinks were great and as expected.
However, the burger is the best I've had in Vancouver! When they ask you " how would you like it cooked?" You know you're in the right place.
Everywhere else in the world you can have your burger cooked to order. But here in Canada, they MUST cook it well done to comply with moronic "serve it right" regulations. I had my burger medium rare, and it was fantastic!! I'll be back, for sure!
Thank you Hawksworth!

Wow! What an amazing dinner! We wanted something nice in both atmosphere and food and we’re not disappointed. We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely amazing. What made it most amazing though as we did have an issue with one element of a dish, and the chef made us a special dish that wasn’t even on the menu yet to replace it, which was phenomenal. Both the SeaBass and Lamb was succulent, the fresh ingredients that complemented them were super tasty and well prepared. The desert… new to us, was one of my all time favorite deserts! Definitely something I can’t recreate…. Will just have to go back again! ☺️The service was outstanding, super personable very in tune to who we were and what we needed sometimes even before we needed it. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner anytime!

Great old fashioned’s, great burgers, and great service. Wonderful happy hour at an upscale place in downtown Vancouver. Had a great time with family before the recent Rolling Stones concert. 10/10 would recommend. The daiquiris are also great and the ribs were fall off the bone. Thanks!!

Lovely service and good. We had the octopus, foie gras, pork& scallops and the halibut. All of them tasted amazing! Wish there were more octopus than potatoes and the halibut wasn’t so salty. We got good recommendations for wine and they treated us to some bubbles when they found out we were celebrating our anniversary. Special shout out to the pork and scallops- we may come back for it.

This place is beautiful. Elegant. High-class.
I've been to a number of Steakhouses in North America and the ambience at Hy's ranks among the top. As soon as you're in the front doors, you feel as though you're in a proper Steakhouse and you know they're going to take care of you.
I have been to a number of Steakhouses in the US (at much high price points) and didn't get the same vibe that I received from Hy's.
The atmosphere is a guaranteed 5/5. No question there. The service is top-notch as well - we had a dedicated server the entire night doing table-side food preparation and our drinks were never close to being empty.
The food. 11/10. I got the 8oz filet as my main and it was one of the juiciest, most tender steaks I've ever had. We ended up getting the caesar salad, spinach salad (best spinach salad I've ever had) & beef tartare as our appetizers. All were so so good.
For dessert I had the creme brulee and again, phenomenal.
In total, for 4 people (3 mains, 3 apps, 2 desserts and 2 drinks), the bill came out to around $400. Very well priced, especially considering the quality of food and the table-side preparation!
I would 100% come back to Hy's for another steak dinner!

Kevin’s culinary artistry is an absolute spectacle, worth every penny and then some!
The signature Caesar Salad? Pure bliss—each bite was a harmonious blend of crisp, fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced dressing.
And if you're famished enough to eat a cow, opt for the longbone pork chops—no, it’s not beef, but I guarantee it's every bit as hearty and satisfying. To make it extra scrumptious, Kevin accommodated my request for heat and brought me grilled jalapeños - cleared my sinuses in a minute! 😅
Dining here is not just a meal; it’s an experience you won’t forget - especially if you have Kevin as your server.🌟

We had the pleasure of dining here for the first time on our anniversary, and Kevin provided the most outstanding service we have ever experienced. Every single menu item we tried was fabulous, and it goes without saying that the steak was incroyable! The cheese toast and tableside Caesar salad were not only an exciting experience, but some of the best things I've eaten in my entire life. The melt-in-your-mouth filet and buttery bone-in New York made for magnificent mains, and our cocktails were carefully concocted to provide us with a brilliantly smooth aperitif. Recommended to us by our server, Kevin, we opted for a refreshing key lime pie and tableside Bananas Foster, which blew us away.
We cannot say enough about this establishment and hope to return as soon as possible. The overall service by all of the waitstaff was quick, efficient and left us feeling like honoured guests. Thank you to the entire Hy's team and especially Kevin for curating an amazing anniversary for us!

I recently dined at Hy’s Steakhouse in downtown Vancouver, and it’s truly a hidden gem! The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional. If you’re looking to treat yourself, Hy’s is the perfect spot. Our server, Markus, went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable and memorable. He even prepared our Caesar salad and beef tartare tableside, which was a fantastic touch. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and we ended the meal with crème brûlée and the must-try banana foster, both prepared with great care. Overall, I had an incredible time, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of. Huge thanks to the amazing team at Hy’s!

The food was amazing.
Striploin was cooked to perfection 🤌
Sides came with vegetables and you chose the second (I tried the garlic mash potatoes)
There was a bit of a wait, not too long. 15 minutes.
The hostesses were very nice and friendly. As well as, the wait staff. We had nice conversation throughout our entire dinner, with both.
They seemed to have gotten busy towards the end of our dinner because our waitress hadn't come to check in and I ended up waiting 10-13 minutes for a to-go container. WHICH, I didn't mind. The atmosphere is so chill and relaxed and The chairs are quite comfortable!!
Nice place to sit and talk with your date(s) ;)

A Fantastic Experience! 🌟
Our time at this restaurant was absolutely incredible, thanks to the wonderful staff, cozy atmosphere, and, of course, the amazing food. 🍽️✨
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness. We chose to dine upstairs, where the decor is more classic, but you can also opt for the ground floor, which offers a more modern vibe. 🏠🎨
As soon as we sat down, Kazuki, our server, took great care of us with a charming and attentive attitude. He explained the menu in detail and offered some excellent recommendations. 👨🍳📋
For appetizers, we had the Three Pepper Wings — if you love spicy food and blue cheese, these are a must! 🌶️🧀 We also enjoyed a delicious French Onion Soup. 🥣 For mains, we ordered the oven-roasted salmon with a honey mustard glaze, a healthy and delightful option. 🐟🍯 We also tried the Prime Rib Sandwich, a simpler yet equally delicious choice, along with the 10 oz Keg Steak. 🥩👌
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the cheesecake and crème brûlée, both of which were absolutely scrumptious. 🍰🍮
Overall, it was a fantastic experience with attentive staff. A special shout-out to Kazuki for making our meal extra memorable! 💫👨🍳

Best steak I've had in years, and that's saying a lot. The Chicago-seared style was new to me, and delicious. The venue is upscale, dark, and grand, with a central spiral staircase. The service was impeccable - Kazuki was polite, helpful, constantly checking in on us. Everything we tried was really delicious - my NY steak, the twice-baked potatoes, the vegetarian meat loaf, the duck confit special, and of course the sticky toffee pudding was rich and gooey and had the perfect caramel. This was such a perfect night out for all 8 of us.

Came here for Father's Day for a 5:30 PM reservation. The restaurant was about half full but the service was quite slow. In terms of the food, it's exactly what you expect from the Keg. The prime rib was cooked well. We ordered extra crispy onions and were charged $2 per order. I guess this is a new charge as I remember it being complimentary before. The dessert was really decadent and sweet. Almost a bit too sweet. Maybe I'm just getting old lol! Overall a good experience.

This restaurant is a perfect choice for a family dinner. The décor is modern, and the staff is super friendly—they even offer you champagne when you arrive! 🥂 The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from. We ordered the Mediterranean Bowl, Katsu Chicken Salad, Herb Crush Salmon, and the JOEY Classic Steak.
The food was delicious; however, the portions for the steak and salmon were quite small considering the price. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and apple tart with maple ice cream, both of which were a sweet ending to the meal! 🍰🍎🍨

We came 2 nights in a row because the food was so delicious!
The roasted corn guacamole is spectacular! Start here but it’s so good everyone may want their own!!
I ordered the blackened chicken. I have celiac so frequently have an issue finding good whole meals. They kindly swapped the warm potato salad for mashed potatoes (so good!!)
Hubby got the butter chicken one night and a burger with truffle fries the second night. He really enjoyed the truffle fries!!
All the entrees were delicious… just pointing out some highlights. We did not try any of the streaks which would definitely change the budget for dinner here.
Diner beware: we didn’t even order the 3rd refills on soda. Imagine our surprise when the bill came with charges for 6 cokes totaling $30. Not cans or bottles, just fountain drinks. Wow.

She took the time to explain the dishes we asked about and made recommendations! We normally would just order one dessert but decided on the two to celebrate our visit to Vancouver because of her suggestion! Thank you Jez!

Had a birthday lunch for my partner here on a weekday afternoon. The place wasn't busy at all so it was quiet and it was very easy to get seated and receive help from the waitstaff throughout our lunch. The space itself is very clean and well-maintained, and you can tell the employees at Diva care a lot about working there. The ambience is, admittedly, not bad but also not what I would mention first to promote the restaurant, but its been updated just enough to be considered modern.
The food is however is simple but very good. We ordered truffle fries and a Caesar salad to share, and fish tacos and the grilled cheese with tomato soup lunch special as our mains. All the dishes were in very large portions and very sharable, enough that we took leftovers home. The Americano I ordered was also really good. Downside is that their menu has hotel/tourist pricing, so all the dishes are rather expensive. That said, portion sizes are VERY generous so sharing is totally possible if you decide to try it out.
The service we received from Monika was the highlight of our dining experience. She was so genuinely friendly, professional, yet still very approachable, and she made our time there very pleasant. She was helpful about dishes being sharable and everything we ordered came fast and hot. Then at the end she brought out a delicious chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream dessert for my partner without even being asked. (I had indicated on OpenTable that our reservation was for a birthday.) What a great, unexpected way to end our meal!
So while Diva at the Met was a worthwhile trip, big thanks go to Monika for making my partner's birthday so memorable.

Came here for happy hour drinks, and dinner. The diva burger was very flavourful, juicy, and fries were delicious. Seafood linguine was underwhelming. It was Tuesday and the server forgot about the 50% off on the 2nd entree deal. They did rectify the situation in the end.

Stopped in for happy hour while staying at the Met. We couldn't believe it wasn't more crowded! Excellent local beer and cider. We had the truffle fries and the humbolt squid (came like traditional calamari) coated with a sweet chili sauce and a side of the house hot sauce. Definitely recommend if you are nearby!

A local restaurant that is located in the center of downtown Vancouver attached to the hotel Metropolitan it is nearby the shopping center Pacific Center and the Vancouver art gallery. There are quite a number of parking in front of the restaurant also it is very nearby public transportation the SkyTrain is just a block away from the Granville station
My friends and I came here for Dino Vancouver, I haven't been to this restaurant for years. the food was fine. the presentation is very appealing as usual and the taste was nice; however, the dessert was slightly disappointing.
there were two selections for the menu, one is a cookie in a jar that would seem to be an incomplete cookie Inside a container. the other one is a cheesecake that doesn't look like a cake. Seems like cream cheese with some other sauce and crunchy crumbs to be eaten altogether. I tried to finish it off but at some point it just gets stuck to my throat and I had to stop since I felt like I was eating cream cheese by the spoon

My Fiancé and Icame for the Valentine's special set course menu.
The Diva is a restaurant attached to the Metropolitan Hotel.
Entering, the lobby was very Valentines in setup, with a photobooth, red themed candy, etc.
We were quickly greeted and seated in the restaurant and presented with the menu.
Since we don't drink alcohol, we started with some mocktails, and the first course, fresh oysters. It normally comes with a sparkling brut, but we chose not to have that. The oysters were so good, with a horseradish vinegarette, that I tried to order more, but alas.... No avail.....
We chose both options for the 2nd course to try. The was kompachi crudo, with blood Oranges and picked root veggies, and a duck consommé with tortellini and shimeji mushrooms. Both were good, but the crudo was definitely the more favoured one.
For Entrée, I ordered pistachio crusted rack of lamb, and my fiancé ordered the black cod in lonster bisque. Both were delicious, not sure what else to really say!
Finally for dessert, we had this choclate and fruit pastry, with chocolate mousse. It had gold flakes, and was gorgeous! We loved it.
Everything was plated spectacularly. For the price of $98, it was definitely worth the experience. If you're expecting a huge filling meal out of it, go somewhere else.
Finally, big shout out to our server Monika for pulling a double, then back in the morning. She was professional, friendly and funny!
We would definitely come back for dinner again!

Hubby and I just had a terrific breakfast here. We were seated immediately upon arrival ( a Friday at 9:15am) and our server was extremely friendly and efficient. The pour over coffee was delicious. I ordered the Bellaggio Hash Bowl and not only was it delicious, the serving size was enormous. Hubby had the Meat Benedict and found it also delicious and filling. The breakfast potatoes are fresh roasted and amazing. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

I recently visited Bellaggio Cafe for brunch, and overall, the experience was quite ordinary. The avocado toast portion was underwhelming, and the smoked salmon didn't impress me as much as others I've had before. While the food wasn't bad, it lacked the special touch that would make me eager to return. However, the servers were nice and welcoming, which added a positive note to the visit. Despite the pleasant service, there are plenty of other options available

Great place for breakfast/brunch. Have been here three days in a row and each time the food has been lovely. Staff have all been really friendly and welcoming.

Went here for lunch recently and was pleased with the meal. Had the calamari, appetizer meatballs and rogatoni, and they were good. The calamari batter was on the salty side, however the squid itself was tender, so it was still good and I still enjoyed it. The service was amazing. I didnt say anything to the server about the calamari, but she proactively reached out and asked if the food was ok, and apologized. The sauce on the meatballs as well as the rigatoni was amazing. Tasted like comfort food on a very rainy day.

It was one of our best and yummiest breakfast in Vancouver ❤️❤️
We ordered, three eggs omelette, Liege Waffle, added the beef sausages as sides, Americano, and Vanilla Latte’s. Every single item was perfect and I’m super picky about my eggs and I was so happy they made it the way I wanted.
The customer service is A++ and Aileen was so attentive and checked on us frequently.
Beautifully decorated and it has positive vibe. We will come back for another meal during our stay in Vancouver.
One comment though! Washrooms need more attention!!!! 🧼🧼🧽🧽
