It’s a small place. The menu is huge. Ordered the food. It came out extremely fast. If you’re coming here strictly for sushi. I believe it’s a different experience. I ordered chicken teriyaki. It was all right. The sushi was better. I felt a little rushed while ordering again, this looks to me like a local sushi placefor a quick snack

This is hands-down the best sushi spot in Richmond! I’ve been coming here with my kids for over 6 years, and we know every staff member—they’re so friendly and welcoming. The service is always super fast, and the sushi is absolutely delicious every time! Whether you’re short on time and craving fresh, tasty seafood or looking for a great place to eat with family or friends, this is the spot. The location is perfect, the staff is amazing, and the food never disappoints. Highly recommend!

I have seen this food truck for a while and finally caught it when it's opened. Seeing not a lot of people I was wondering would it be good, but I was blown away.
The skewers are cheaper than outside and just tasted so amazing. Seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection. Eating outside with the setting sun definitely sets a good mood to enjoy the food.
Definitely need to try the lamb kidney, chicken knee, chicken soft bone and meat, beef tongue, and must order the Naan, it is more Northern Chinese Naan bread, and it is so soft and pillowy, we ate both of them so quickly.
A must try in richmond.

This spot is great for a nighttime snack, the skewers here cost less than the ones at the Richmond Night Market which is nice. 🍢👍🏻
Although they have an order online page on their website, it didn't work for me so I just called them to order.
When I arrived I was able to pick up quite quickly and they tasted great too. 😋

Beautiful restaurant for hot pot! It’s my second time at this location. The service was fantastic, very attentive and efficient, we didn’t have to wait long for anything. Our drinks were continually refilled, the plates were cleared often and the food was brought out with little wait. I highly recommend the creamy pork broth. It comes with a side of chicken to cook.
It is a little on the pricier side, but we left very full and satisfied. Loved the jelly station!
A fun and interactive dinner, with ample time for conversation as you prepare your meal. The complementary ice cream at the end is a refreshing way to end a meal!! Reservations recommended!

Great atmosphere and service for hot pot. Great mix of variety but is a bit short of volume when it comes to the meat compared to some other hotpot places. This would be a 5 if you prefer service and ambiance vs amount of meat offered.

好吃到說不出話 ☺️ everything was great! Tomato soup base is soo tomatoey, we were told they make the soup base in house with fresh tomatoes. All the ingredients seemed really fresh and were presented well. The sauce that was prepared for us was great. The menu lacks a larger variety of tofu options. The noodles are sooo chewy and good, the green colour was our fav.
But honestly, the side dishes and dessert bar were the highlight for me. There’s not as big a variety as Haidilao but the quality was great. The kimchi side dish was bomb, the cantaloupe was super fresh and sweet! The dessert jelly was wonderful 🫨 super refreshing and great way to cleanse the palette at the end of the meal.
The complimentary soft serve ice cream was soo good too, it was super milky and the cone was so crunchy.
The server was attentive and nice.
3 of us dined for $185 before tip.

Dolar Shop is a higher end hot pot place and parent restaurant to the popular all you can eat place, Cho Cho. As a result, this place is expensive, you’re looking at around $80 a person to get sufficient amount of food.
Service is top notch here. As a result of the high end experience they definitely give you top tier service.
Food is great quality, but you pay for the quality. You want expensive seafood or high end meats? This is the place.
They have a sauce bar and some all you can eat appetizers as part of the package as well.
The one thing I cannot stand is the credit card up charge. It’s absolutely disappointing to see restaurants do this, especially a higher end place like this. It seems rather unfair to pass this cost to customers.
Otherwise this place is a good example of a higher end hot pot place.

It is SO good, perfect portion, taste, price and service. I can’t be happier and I will be back. The cashier was patient and observant- two people ordered one dish but still gave two sets of utensils. It is not everyday you also get someone politely bowing to thank you. My friend introduced me and I want to introduce this place to the whole world!!! It is great place for a late night order as they open until late too. 11/10 😇👍

My friends and I decided to try this place (first time) last Friday. It was too busy at first but then the lunch time crowds came just after noon time. The seating is nice and comfortable - not as cramped as other hot pot places. The food was good and lots of tasty broths to choose from. We found that our food lost its heat faster than the other places. Service was friendly, but there are still learning curves: forgot my drink and I didn't get utensils. The dessert was ok. Ours wasn't piped into the fish - we just stuffed the ice cream in. Overall a good experience. Will try again in a few months and see if there are improvements.

Piping Hot is a cozy spot for delicious and affordable Asian cuisine. Known for its steaming hot soups, fresh ingredients, and exquisite Taiwanese deep fried selection. it’s a go-to for a hearty, satisfying meal. The portion sizes are based on your own selection, and the service is quick, making it ideal for appetites of all sizes. The atmosphere is no-frills, but the food more than makes up for it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Taiwanese comfort food with bold flavors in Richmond.

I finally tried the newly opened Piping Hot in Richmond! I love how they have deep fried option along with the hot pot by weight options. The deep fried bar has Taiwanese style snack offerings like chicken nuggies, yam mochi balls, and even beef and lamb skewers. Which is a nice touch + difference than other competitors. The hot foods.
The fresh free taiyaki with milk tea ice cream is really just the icing on top. I tried their drinks too. It’s super refreshing and has fresh fruit bits inside!
Melody Yip - in the last week
Loved this place!!! You even get a complimentary, delicious, freshly made taiyaki filled with milk tea ice cream at the end! Better than Big Way for sure because they actually give you a real serving of ice cream opposed to the small dollap that Big Way usually gives. The ice cream here is also creamier and tastier. Plus they have a fried food section and the fried sweet potato balls were sooooo good and chewy.
They have an amazing soup selection. We tried the Three Treasure one which I highly recommend as it was rich and creamy but not too salty. The miso soup base was tasty as well. Otherwise, it’s like Big Way where you self select your hot pot ingredients and pay by weight with an included sauce bar. I would say their sauce bar has more condiment options including curry sauce compared to Big Way and they have certain hot pot items Big Way doesn’t have. Can’t wait to come back!

Digital queue needs work.
Started at #87 and spent close to 3 hours of lining up. We visited stores nearby to kill time, but when it got close to our number (17) and we checked in to the restaurant, there were plenty of tables available. The hostess said they felt similar frustrations but had to prioritize the ridiculous number of people in the online queue.
Food itself was ok. Efficient service, flavour was good but not wow-worthy. Best to revisit once they've figured out a more consistent routine.

Try the newly opened charcoal-fired tavern, which combines Japanese style with exotic style. There are no surprises in the overall dishes, so feel free to use them!
Compared with several old Japanese-style restaurants in RMD, it does have a great degree of satisfaction.

I absolutely love the food here; everything is so delicious and full of flavor! The dishes are thoughtfully prepared, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. Bear provided us with exceptional service throughout our visit. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt cared for at every step. It was such a wonderful dining experience—can’t wait to come back again!

My personal favourite dish was the House of Dawn Salad. If you’re into crunchy textures like me, this dish would not disappoint.
This creation is made with a combination of daikon, carrot, cucumber, crispy taro + shallots, peanuts and sesame seeds paired alongside cherry tomatoes and pickled red onions which adds a touch of acidity. All tossed in a ginger plum vinaigrette dressing.
The seafood (mussels and shrimp) were unfortunately a little overcooked at my visit here. Service and atmosphere was great tho!
Melody Yip - in the last week
Always very exciting to try a new restaurant! Some highlights: the salted egg yolk shrimp spaghetti is very creative and wonderfully executed. Great texture and oh so many shrimps wow! Rib-eye is made exceptionally well, no tough pieces to chew and nothing is overly oily. Panna cotta excellent flavor and cleansing element at the end of the meal. Our server Bear is extremely attentive, efficient and had fantastic energy. For soft opening, the restaurant is very receptive to feedbacks, the only thing I can say for improvement is lighting needs to be better. Regardless the vibe, being too dark made it hard on the eyes and to fully appreciate the decors. Highly recommend, it’s great to have something different at Richmond!

Been wanting to try this place out for a while.
Glad I finally found time to visit, and I'm not disappointed at all.
Ordered the Super 10 (chicken), and the 12' soft burrito (beef) combo. The ingredients in the soft burrito were nice and fresh. The tater tots were really well done. Light and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The crispy chicken burritos were good by itself; it had a sweet aftertaste. Plus, I recommend you dip your tater tots with the salsa they give you.
The service was fast too. Came here around 2:30pm on a holiday (Remembrance Day). Ordered and everything was ready within 10 minutes.
I'll definitely be back if I'm ever at this food court. Very well done. Highly recommend if you want your Tex Mex fix.

Went here on a suggestion from a friend, was hoping to meet Luis. Was disappointed when he wasn’t there, but when I looked inside my taco, I saw L U I S spelled out in my sauce.
Needless to say, this spiritual surprise has turned Luis into one of my best friends.

Still one of the best places to get a fast taco salad. Toppings are great and that deep and crisp shell really stands out. Miss the days when you could pour the salsa on top by yourself but I guess covid changes things. Crisp tater tots complete the meal.
Update: March 2024... glad to see their taco salad are still good.

We were hoping to try out a 5 star Mexican restaurant in Vancouver for Cinco de Mayo Day but heavy traffic thwarted our plans. Ended up at the food court in Lansdowne Centre and got our Mexican fix at Taco Luis. I usually just order their tater tots for a snack; as I wanted a full meal this time, I decided to try the Tater Tots Deluxe combo meal. They put rice, beans, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, cheese, sour cream and salsa on top. I had the option of putting guacamole on top as well but I decided to pass on it as I was quite happy with the mound of food piled on top of my tater tots already.
I really don't care whether it's authentic Mexican food, I only care that it tastes good. I've always loved the tater tots at Taco Luis, and now that I've tried their Tater Tots Deluxe I think I've just found my new "go to" meal at that food court!
There are plenty of other options as well if you're in the mood for something other than tater tots. Burritos, Tacos, Soft Tacos, Taco Salads...etc. My husband ordered a 12 " beef burrito combo and my daughter ordered a 10 " chicken burrito combo. (Didn't get any photos of their meals. Was too impatient to start eating the Deluxe meal sitting in front of me!)
Service: Good
Parking: Plentiful and free
Location: Inside the food court at Lansdowne Centre, Richmond

My first time ordering Japanese food from Katte and I can say it was very good. The ikura and salmon sashimi over white rice along with avocado, cucumber and wasabi aioli was sooooo hood! It was worth $19.

My go-to for cheap Japanese curry. Food is great and I love how they give two giant pieces of chicken with the chicken katsu. (See picture... Though by the time I took the photo I'd already eaten a few pieces.) Chicken is always crispy and delicious. Curry is flavorful and satisfying, and rice is fluffy. I would give them 5 stars except they are quite stingy with the amount of curry...I really wish they would at least fill it to the top of the container but there's always 1cm left of room at the top (not to mention a gap at the bottom of the container). Whenever I eat here I have to be very careful not to run out of curry sauce. Personally, I'd like the option of paying extra $1-2 to have more curry with my meal.
Random other notes if you're planning to eat here: They always seem to be sold out of pork katsu around dinner time. Would try to eat here earlier if possible.
