I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cactus Club Cafe Bentall 5, located conveniently near Burrard Station, and it was absolutely delightful! The service was top-notch, with our server, Lois, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. The food truly stood out, with the truffle fries and prawn sushi being particular highlights. The Mediterranean bowl was also amazing, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients.
Aside from the food, the ambiance was fantastic, featuring a lovely view that made our dining experience even more special. This place has it all – great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality meal in the area. Highly recommend!

Stopped here for a quick snack and dessert and had such a lovely experience! The London Fog Crème Brûlée is so delicious! Our server was super sweet and friendly! ❤️

Busy place
Came here for dinner and was not disappointed.
The tuna bowl was very good with fresh toppings and plenty of them.
The blackened Cajun chicken was tender and moist…the mashed potatoes were top notch and the asparagus were cooked to perfection.
Both desserts were quite good with the peanut butter crunch bar winning out over the chocolate lava cake.
They had just closed the second floor dinning room, so that was a little disappointing, but overall it was a winning experience.

We had brunch on a pleasant Saturday morning. The location was very convenient, the atmosphere - with a high ceiling and glass walls - was super nice, the server was friendly and helpful, and best of all, the food was amazing! We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Vancouver. Thank you!

We had an amazing dining experience, thanks to Isabel. She thoroughly explained the details of each dish and even recommended some of her personal favorites. Her descriptions made it easy to imagine how the dishes would taste.
The clam chowder was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Packed with seafood, it was incredibly flavorful.
For the main course, I tried both the lobster pasta and the fish and chips. While the lobster was decent, it tasted as though it had been boiled in salt water and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. The fish and chips were outstanding, crispy on the outside with firm, fresh fish inside.
To finish, the Warm Banana & Coconut Butter Cake was so delicious . The sweetness was perfectly balanced, and the rich banana flavor was my favorite

From the moment we walked into Coast we were greeted with a warm smile and promptly seated at a cozy table. The hostess was welcoming and efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long before a server arrived to take our drink order.
Our waiter, Andrew, was attentive without being overbearing, answering all our questions about the menu and offering excellent wine pairing suggestions. We had a few dietary requests, and Andrew made sure to relay them to the kitchen without hesitation. The food arrived in a timely manner, and everything was hot and presented beautifully.
Andrew checked in with us periodically to make sure everything was to our liking, which we really appreciated. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxing and tastefully decorated, contributing to an overall pleasant dining experience.
Overall, the service was excellent, and we would definitely return to Coast for another enjoyable meal.

I hosted another successful corporate event at Coast last night, and it was fantastic! The food was beyond incredible—think finger-licking, mouth-watering, can’t-get-enough amazing! Jessie and Peter were our hosts, and they made sure everything ran smoothly. From drinks upon arrival to ensuring the food was always fresh and replenished, they really took care of our guests.
I highly recommend hosting events here!
A few must-try items:
- The sablefish is a game-changer—you'll thank me later!
- They have an incredible selection of fresh, delicious oysters.
- If you're a soy sauce fan, their house-made version is a revelation. I tried it in the spring, but I'm not sure if it’s available year-round.
- And even though I’m not a dessert person, I’ve been snacking on the leftover cheesecake bites since last night—they’re dangerously delicious!
Thank you Coast, Peter and Jessie for an amazing experience and a memorable night for our guests. You are 10/10.
Note: the pictures are not all from the event mentioned in this comment, I added for reference from my past experiences at Coast.

I was there to celebrate my wedding anniversary as this place has been in my bucket list.
We have tried other steakhouses and hope this would live up to the hype.
We have ordered 2 cocktails to start, which we both picked a lemon zesty, grapefruit flavor. Which we found very good.
Then came the appetizers as we ordered the cheese toast, sautéed prawns and Caesar salad.
Our server recommended us to dip the cheese toast into the sautéed prawn sauce which was really good!! 😋
The flavor of sauce was a little like a hollandaise sauce? Not sure but the overall experience was really good. 😋
However the main dish was disappointing. We ordered the 20oz bone in rib steak, shared between us.
The rib steak was thin, the skin was very charred, the steak was so fatty it was very tough to cut through. 😣
It came with a choice of potato and we ordered baked. Which was good! 😋
Overall ratings of the food (out of 5😋)
Cheese toast: 😋😋😋😋😋
Sautéed prawn: 😋😋😋😋😋
Caesar salad: 😋😋😋😋😋
20oz bone in rib steak: 😋😋

This place is beautiful. Elegant. High-class.
I've been to a number of Steakhouses in North America and the ambience at Hy's ranks among the top. As soon as you're in the front doors, you feel as though you're in a proper Steakhouse and you know they're going to take care of you.
I have been to a number of Steakhouses in the US (at much high price points) and didn't get the same vibe that I received from Hy's.
The atmosphere is a guaranteed 5/5. No question there. The service is top-notch as well - we had a dedicated server the entire night doing table-side food preparation and our drinks were never close to being empty.
The food. 11/10. I got the 8oz filet as my main and it was one of the juiciest, most tender steaks I've ever had. We ended up getting the caesar salad, spinach salad (best spinach salad I've ever had) & beef tartare as our appetizers. All were so so good.
For dessert I had the creme brulee and again, phenomenal.
In total, for 4 people (3 mains, 3 apps, 2 desserts and 2 drinks), the bill came out to around $400. Very well priced, especially considering the quality of food and the table-side preparation!
I would 100% come back to Hy's for another steak dinner!

My new favorite Happy Hour in Vancouver. They call it Cocktail Hour, but it's really great. The drinks were great and as expected.
However, the burger is the best I've had in Vancouver! When they ask you " how would you like it cooked?" You know you're in the right place.
Everywhere else in the world you can have your burger cooked to order. But here in Canada, they MUST cook it well done to comply with moronic "serve it right" regulations. I had my burger medium rare, and it was fantastic!! I'll be back, for sure!
Thank you Hawksworth!

First time at Hawksworth and it will not be my last. Decided to treat myself on Sunday morning. Had the Brunch Prix Fixe. Great value. What a wonderful start to the day.
All the courses were delicious. The Eggs Benedict was awesome. The eggs were poached perfectly. So luxurious.
Fabulous service from Roman.
Thank you!

3 years since my previous review and I have added an extra star. We had an early lunch reservation and we started out with a glass of Champagne in the bar. The friendly, professional barman asked if we were celebrating and word soon got round the serving staff. Seated at our table several staff members congratulated us and at the end of the meal we were presented with a complimentary selection of petits fours. As for the meal, the food and service were at the highest level. If you have wide tastes then the chef's choice/no selection "prix fixe" lunch is an amazing bargain. The sommelier was happy to suggest individual wines by the glass with no pressure to buy a bottle. The service was both correct and friendly. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. I can't wait to return.

Wow! What an amazing dinner! We wanted something nice in both atmosphere and food and we’re not disappointed. We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely amazing. What made it most amazing though as we did have an issue with one element of a dish, and the chef made us a special dish that wasn’t even on the menu yet to replace it, which was phenomenal. Both the SeaBass and Lamb was succulent, the fresh ingredients that complemented them were super tasty and well prepared. The desert… new to us, was one of my all time favorite deserts! Definitely something I can’t recreate…. Will just have to go back again! ☺️The service was outstanding, super personable very in tune to who we were and what we needed sometimes even before we needed it. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner anytime!

Great old fashioned’s, great burgers, and great service. Wonderful happy hour at an upscale place in downtown Vancouver. Had a great time with family before the recent Rolling Stones concert. 10/10 would recommend. The daiquiris are also great and the ribs were fall off the bone. Thanks!!

I hadn’t had a great overall dining experience in a while until I came to Black & Blue.
Food: 5+/5 - we dined during happy hour. We started with the Steak house Nachos and it was like no other nachos ever. Different and tasty. We had the prime rib special and it was cooked to perfection. The meat was melted in our mouths. We ended up ending the meal with Banana Foster flambé. They gave us a complimentary birthday dessert of butter cake which was heavenly.
Service: 5/5 - service was fantastic. They refilled our water glasses frequently and asked if we needed anything.
Atmosphere: 5/5 - the place felt festive with plenty of holiday decor. A great place to dine with family and friends.
Overall a great place to dine!

We went in happy hour, so tapas style smaller plates. The food was great. The service was excellent, even my handbag was given a stall to be placed off the floor. We went on the roof top, I imagine on a summers day would be even better. The decor is lovely. Well worth a visit.

If I could give Scott more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, I absolutely would! From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. All of the staff worked together to make us feel at home throughout our entire visit, right up until we left. Scott was our server and his attention to detail, cheerful attitude, and commitment to great service made our experience unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better time!

Absolutely loved our experience at Black+Blue! We came during happy hour on a Monday which we reserved on the same day. We were blown away by the quality and value. The $39 prime rib was fantastic—tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The oysters and steamed mussels were incredibly fresh, and the Wagyu beef was outstanding, truly melt-in-your-mouth.
Our server, Omar, was the best! He was friendly, attentive, and constantly made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake that was as delicious as the rest of the meal.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for high-quality food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be Back!

What an amazing find this plane is in Tropic, Utah!! Went two nights in a row for dinner.
We loved the live country music ( nightly from 6:30-9:30), cool country ambience, tasty food ( excellent brisket and mushroom pasta) and friendly service.
Our server. The second night was Skylar… so attentive and truly one if the best servers we’ve had anywhere. She kept checking to ask if we needed anything and was most attentive she will be good at whatever she ends up doing.
Our only suggestion to the restaurant would be that the videos of rodeos right above the musicians heads are distracting. The musicians work for food only so are very happy to get tips btw.
Do not miss this place if staying in this beautiful area! Great selection of beer and cider too.

A great place to have meal, usually it’s not crazy packed with guests so the atmosphere is very relax very spacious and comfortable. Servise are great, but the food does tastes and the food presentation does need to improve specially this is one of the top Marriott hotel in town before 2019, not sure what happened after Covid, maybe the head chef got changed ? I ordered the CARAMELIZED BANANA + PECAN BRIOCHE FRENCH TOAST $24 - chantilly cream, fresh berries, canadian maple syrup, toasted almonds…. It looks like a family run eatery plating in a fancy plate. The toast are soaked with syrup…. with warm half melted whipped cream…. Photo provided.

This restaurant is currently one of my better dine out restaurants that I have tried this year. For $49 I got the beef carpaccio, pasta and tiramisu.
I really enjoyed the appetizer as the flavours were just perfect. The main dish (pasta) was also really good especially if you like creamy. I thought that the dessert was average. Overall would definitely try this place again!

Choose here because of the high rate and has been recommended.
I understand that people had fun when the chef played with the food.
For me, no surprise. I care more about if they cook the ingredients properly. And with a good taste. The ingredients were good, but after cooking, the taste did not show up. That's why I can not give a high rate.

Not only one of the best restaurants in Vancouver considering their price range, but one of the most memorable culinary experiences you will ever have. It's a show, a miracle, peak hospitality. I feel like this place is all the service industry is about; great reception, amazing cocktails, the best food, delicious sake and one in a lifetime service. It's a must-go when you visit Vancouver.

Honestly, it was so much fun! I don't feel like I wasted my money at all because of the great food and all the services at this restaurant. I smelled like steaks after eating, but overall, it's an amazing place to celebrate special occasions with loved ones. 🎉
Each table has its own grill, and the show usually starts when one table is filled with customers. Don't be too afraid of the menu - fried rice and veggies are included with the main dishes. 😊
Thanks, Kobe!

Came here for happy hour drinks, and dinner. The diva burger was very flavourful, juicy, and fries were delicious. Seafood linguine was underwhelming. It was Tuesday and the server forgot about the 50% off on the 2nd entree deal. They did rectify the situation in the end.

Stopped in for happy hour while staying at the Met. We couldn't believe it wasn't more crowded! Excellent local beer and cider. We had the truffle fries and the humbolt squid (came like traditional calamari) coated with a sweet chili sauce and a side of the house hot sauce. Definitely recommend if you are nearby!

Had a birthday lunch for my partner here on a weekday afternoon. The place wasn't busy at all so it was quiet and it was very easy to get seated and receive help from the waitstaff throughout our lunch. The space itself is very clean and well-maintained, and you can tell the employees at Diva care a lot about working there. The ambience is, admittedly, not bad but also not what I would mention first to promote the restaurant, but its been updated just enough to be considered modern.
The food is however is simple but very good. We ordered truffle fries and a Caesar salad to share, and fish tacos and the grilled cheese with tomato soup lunch special as our mains. All the dishes were in very large portions and very sharable, enough that we took leftovers home. The Americano I ordered was also really good. Downside is that their menu has hotel/tourist pricing, so all the dishes are rather expensive. That said, portion sizes are VERY generous so sharing is totally possible if you decide to try it out.
The service we received from Monika was the highlight of our dining experience. She was so genuinely friendly, professional, yet still very approachable, and she made our time there very pleasant. She was helpful about dishes being sharable and everything we ordered came fast and hot. Then at the end she brought out a delicious chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream dessert for my partner without even being asked. (I had indicated on OpenTable that our reservation was for a birthday.) What a great, unexpected way to end our meal!
So while Diva at the Met was a worthwhile trip, big thanks go to Monika for making my partner's birthday so memorable.

My Fiancé and Icame for the Valentine's special set course menu.
The Diva is a restaurant attached to the Metropolitan Hotel.
Entering, the lobby was very Valentines in setup, with a photobooth, red themed candy, etc.
We were quickly greeted and seated in the restaurant and presented with the menu.
Since we don't drink alcohol, we started with some mocktails, and the first course, fresh oysters. It normally comes with a sparkling brut, but we chose not to have that. The oysters were so good, with a horseradish vinegarette, that I tried to order more, but alas.... No avail.....
We chose both options for the 2nd course to try. The was kompachi crudo, with blood Oranges and picked root veggies, and a duck consommé with tortellini and shimeji mushrooms. Both were good, but the crudo was definitely the more favoured one.
For Entrée, I ordered pistachio crusted rack of lamb, and my fiancé ordered the black cod in lonster bisque. Both were delicious, not sure what else to really say!
Finally for dessert, we had this choclate and fruit pastry, with chocolate mousse. It had gold flakes, and was gorgeous! We loved it.
Everything was plated spectacularly. For the price of $98, it was definitely worth the experience. If you're expecting a huge filling meal out of it, go somewhere else.
Finally, big shout out to our server Monika for pulling a double, then back in the morning. She was professional, friendly and funny!
We would definitely come back for dinner again!

Came here for a birthday dinner celebration and had an ok meal. Most of us ordered from the tasting menu option. The appetizers were outstanding. We had the beef carpaccio and scallops and pork belly. As I don't eat pork, the kitchen was very understanding to accommodate my order. They gave me an extra scallop in place of the procuitto, and for the chicken entree they separated the bacon so that it could be enjoyed by others. The portion sizes was very good and even generous when compared to other restaurants in this class. The fresh pasta dishes were good but due to timing did not come out hot- likely waiting for the other dishes. Overall, the entrees were good. Desserts were not very refined and the taste could be improved upon to complete the meal. Our server was nice and the venue was quiet.
