Great location!! Lots of corporate traffic during lunch and afternoon happy hour! Good happy hour selection. The patio is heated and covered. We sat there in January and it was perfect temperature just like sitting inside, very cosy and vibey. Would recommend sitting in the patio or the dining room. The music in the lounge area was very loud so a little hard to hear and have a conversation. So we were happy to sit in the patio. The washrooms are on the second floor and are accessible. The washrooms are very nice and clean and there is an elevator to get to the second floor if you can't take the stairs. Would highly recommend eating the salmon and the green burger and the truffle fries are a must! Can usually find a spot for a reservation same day if you check on their website. They do have a bit of a storage area if you're coming with some larger bags or things that you wanna put away just ask. Great service, they are used to large groups here.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cactus Club Cafe Bentall 5, located conveniently near Burrard Station, and it was absolutely delightful! The service was top-notch, with our server, Lois, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. The food truly stood out, with the truffle fries and prawn sushi being particular highlights. The Mediterranean bowl was also amazing, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients.
Aside from the food, the ambiance was fantastic, featuring a lovely view that made our dining experience even more special. This place has it all – great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality meal in the area. Highly recommend!

This place never disappoints. One of the best restaurants in town. Every item on the menu tasted amazing. Looking forward to eating here again when I visit.

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants of all time! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, with a lively and inviting vibe that makes every visit memorable. The food is nothing short of delicious, and the service consistently goes above and beyond to make guests feel special.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve here, and it was an unforgettable experience—festive, fun, and filled with great energy. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend trying the Sangria for drinks; it’s perfectly balanced and refreshing. For the meal, the Bolognese is a standout—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.
I genuinely can’t wait to come back and create more wonderful memories here. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a fantastic dining experience, this place is a must-visit!

Shabusen is by far the best restaurant of this kind in the city. Service is always great and even when they’re full and you need to wait, they take the time to let you know how long you need to wait for your table and the best is they don’t lie… if they say 10 minutes your table will be ready in 10 minutes. You can ask any server for anything and they will help you right away and even if they see you’re missing something they ask. They also clean your table on the go and a lot of times you don’t even notice. Really professional service.
Cost is one of the best parts because for all the food you can eat and the quality is totally worth it.
High recommended.

While wandering around the area near Downtown during New Year’s, we decided to revisit Shabusen . This restaurant has been around for many years, but it had also been quite a while since our last visit. For lunch, they offered two options—pure Japanese cuisine AYCE or a combination of Japanese cuisine and Korean BBQ AYCE. We opted for the latter.
Overall, the service was relatively quick, but the freshness of the ingredients left something to be desired. The sashimi in particular, lacked flavor and tasted somewhat bland. The BBQ selection was also quite limited, offering only pork, beef, chicken, and spicy pork. The variety felt uninspired, and the overall taste was just average.
In terms of value for money, the prices were reasonable, but apart from that, there wasn’t much to highlight. Additionally, parking was not very convenient. If you choose to park on the street, it costs around $6 per hour.
Final Thoughts: Shabusen is an acceptable option if you’re looking for a quick and simple meal, but if you’re after higher-quality dishes with more variety, you might want to explore other restaurants.

Came here for a birthday treat with my best friend for her birthday and oyster happy hour and tons of drinks. It was a lovely touch that the birthday gal was given a cake for her special day celebration. Only down side was that the oyster from the east coast wasn't as preferential for us compared to the West Coast ones, yet we have no control of what we were getting. Also, there was quite a huge contrast between the attitude of the servers for our table and the one next table. It wasn't bad, yet not great, especially the one next table was showing above and beyond service.

Fabulous birthday dinner at COAST !
We requested a quiet table and were seated upstairs overlooking the restaurant which was ideal. Our server Jesse was great, totally informed, attentive and fun. Katya, our lovely sommelier had the perfect suggestion to complement our meal.
We tried several dishes and were pleasantly impressed. Highly recommend the crab cakes and the prawn dish with red curry coconut soba noodles. SO GOOD !
Other staff attending our table were pleasant and efficient which was very much appreciated. The “Happy Birthday” dessert was a sweet surprise.
COAST dinner menu is extensive and we already have in mind some dishes to try on our next visit. Thanks to all, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be returning !

My daughter and I had dinner at Coast on Alberni Street last evening, and it was a fantastic experience! The 3-course lobster dinner was an incredible deal at just $65. Both the food and the atmosphere were outstanding. Our server, Lora, was fabulous—attentive, friendly, and made our evening even more enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

It was our first time at Coast, we’re there for the happy hour. All I can say is that the staff are phenomenal! Ben W. was our server, he made sure to check on us very often. The food was great especially the mussels, they are big! We ordered two bowls, we can’t get enough . My margarita was a bit too sour for me though. All in all, great value for money.

Group of 10 of us came for my birthday dinner last weekend. Our server was very attentive and the restaurant accommodated my custom birthday menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My starter shrimp salad was fantastic. My steak was cooked medium as requested and my husband enjoyed his salmon wellington. We were extremely pleased with the quality of food served, temperature and taste. We are so happy to have chosen Coast Restaurant for my birthday dinner celebration. Thank you to the wonderful staff and our server!

Amazing service and food! We arrived early for our dinner reservations and enjoyed Happy Hour upstairs. Karen was Amazing and took all my food allergies very seriously. The happy hour cocktails (2 ounces) for only $11. Great price. We made our way downstairs for dinner where Andy was our waiter. He was personable and informative. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic. The room is amazing and unchanged since the early 60s. We will absolutely be back. 5 stars all around! Great work!

We’ve been to the one in Whistler several times and thought we’d try the one in Vancouver. Both are fantastic, the only way this one trumps Whistler is the cool building it’s in, and its history. It is two levels and there are plenty of intimate dining spots. We can recommend the French Onion soup and the New York steak sandwich. Hys is great if you enjoy fantastic steak and red wine.

i’ve been here a couple times with my family and the food is consistently high quality and delicious. my favourite thing on the menu is definitely the cheese toast, it’s so soft, warm, CHEESY, and indulgent. i definitely recommend getting it if you come, it’s the perfect way to start your meal. the beef wellington is also fantastic, it’s really well cooked and the crust was so buttery and flaky. the asparagus was soft and paired really well with the wellington. service was also great, as expected from a restaurant like this. this is a great restaurant to eat at if you’re celebrating something or looking for a formal night out !

After living in downtown for more than a decade I decided to have my first birthday with my wife and this old but gold steak house. There are traditions and finesse dripping down from its old British deemed walls. The menu is well put and expensive. Our waiter was fun and politely opinionated with our choices and made us feel comfortable although we where the last customers. A memorial night and delicious new york steak! 🥩

It was a nice meal
First, service was great. Everything is well attended. Very good services
Atmosphere was pretty much a steakhouse high end type
Most tables are celebrating birthday indeed and nice for dating
Food
Ok, the cheese bread is a must try
The salad was also very very good
The Wellington steak, well, very nicely cooked
Just I don’t feel too comfortable with it as it looks too rare inside to me. However, the beef texture and taste is very top quality
Last is dessert which is perfect
I love the whole thing, just it won’t let me give a 5.
Just not the right 5, may be 4.5 star?
A bit more detailed on whole services including front desk greeting, the table is fully ready meaning the tools, folk knife etc is right position and symmetric. Don’t let customer feels it’s a rush putting together at start.
But I would still highly recommended

A Near-Perfect Michelin Star Experience—Almost
Dining at Hawksworth was an experience that flirted with perfection—until the final act.
The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with beautiful lighting that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The service was poised, knowledgeable, and accommodating… at least until the very end.
Opting for the fixed four-course menu, I was treated to a symphony of flavors. The appetizer was an intricate balance of textures, the second course—a delicate bison dish—was flawlessly executed, and the third, a masterpiece desert, left me eagerly anticipating the finale.
Except… it never came. Instead, I was handed the bill!
Somewhere between clearing the last plate and presenting the bill, the promised fourth course simply vanished.
I initially thought it was an intentional pause, but when the waiter reappeared, it was with the check, not my final dish. When I inquired, he looked genuinely surprised, muttered something about a “mix-up,” and " I forgot" and offered an apologetic smile and brought the last course.
While the food itself was outstanding and the setting sublime, that glaring misstep was hard to overlook.
A Michelin-starred experience should be flawless, and for a set menu, every dish should make it to the table.

Last night was my first time dined here which has a solid reputation, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambiance and service were definitely the highlights — the staff was friendly, attentive, and the overall vibe was warm and comfortable. It’s definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal.
As for the food, it was decent, but not quite as impressive as I expected. I ordered the main dish, which was good, but it was on the smaller side. Honestly, if I hadn’t added on a side, I might’ve left still hungry. The flavors were fine, but nothing that really stood out or wowed me.
Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I don’t know if I’d rush back based on the food alone. Still, if you're looking for a comfortable spot with great service, it’s worth considering.

Came here for the New Year’s Eve dinner. Our favorite was the snack and dessert. Everything was at excellent temps which didn’t go unnoticed. Especially with the full dinning room. We enjoyed our time here and already have recommended others to pop by. We both didn’t care for the main but that was probably personal preference. The staff were attentive and helpful. They brought a DJ in this year and that was a great way to ring in the new year!

Came for the Valentine’s Day set dinner for $195/pp. Overall food quantity/portions were minuscule. Felt like the overall theme of the food was pretentious rather than trying to satiate.
The duck breast was tough. The lobster bisque was lukewarm which was disappointing considering the lobster was quite fresh; a waste of the quality of ingredients. The champagne palette cleanser was a bit too sweet for my liking. I would give the dessert a solid 5/5 as it had a delicious combination of flavours and assembled beautifully.
The espresso martinis were well made but the server spilled it on our table but had them quickly remade.
Overall this was a disappointing experience for a very high end meal during a special occasion.
Cyrus W - a month ago
We ordered the tasting menu, the last 4 pictures are all the courses. The scallops tastes amazing, and the bison is something not very easy to find and it tastes good. I love the foie gras. The duck tastes OKAY but it’s a bit oily to me. Maybe the duck can pair with some sour jams flavors? The duck course they used to serve back in 2019 was AMAZING and I wish I can have something similar to that 🥹

From the start to finish the experience was amazing. The food was good the service was fantastic. Would love to try more food from the menu but we were too full. Marco was very attentive and very pleasant. He made our experience enjoyable and our food taste even better when he’s always smiling. Will definitely come back. The only disappointment was the Diet Coke cost $6. I might as well order alcohol. And we sat next to an obnoxious and noisy table. They think they own the restaurant. They should not be at the centre of the room.

We had an amazing time celebrating my daughter’s birthday at Black + Blue! The food was absolutely fantastic—every dish was cooked to perfection. I had an incredible dining experience at Black and Blue! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The highlight of the night was our server, Lawrence—hands down the best server ever. He was personable, had a great character, and made the entire evening even more enjoyable with his attentive service and friendly demeanor.
The steak was absolutely fantastic—cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The wine selection was top-notch and paired beautifully with our meal. And to top it all off, the cake was divine. Every bite of the meal was a treat for the senses.
If you’re looking for an outstanding steakhouse experience with great food and even better service, Black and Blue is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

Just had an amazing dinner at Black and Blue for our anniversary. We purchased the "Buy Up" special for 2. It included wagyu beef tataki, and carpaccio for starters 4oz of each per person of USDA prime sirloin and A5 wagyu striploin, sides included mashed potatoes, cauliflower gratin and a tower of onion rings. Sauces that were included were red wine jus, bearnaise and chimichurri. The dessert was a chocolate cake for two. Our waiter was LLOYD and he was spectacular!!!! He guided us on extra food to order and what not to order. We opted to only order some fresh oysters as he was adamant that the meal for two was going to be a lot of food. And he was correct. The food was rich and delicious. We also took his opinion for the cook of the steaks and they were cooked spot on. I hope to be able to go back to Black and Blue for dinner in the near future and I really hope that we get Lloyd as our server. As we were there celebrating our anniversary, Lloyd made an extra effort to make it a special afternoon and added on an extra little cake called "Butter Cake"for our anniversary celebration. It was like a pillow of buttery heaven in my mouth 🤤😋 (the lighting wasn't the greatest for pictures)

We’ve been coming here for many years now. They never disappoint. Came here on a Friday night. It was a full house. Make sure to make a reservation for your party. Really nice atmosphere. This restaurant is what you’d expect from downtown Vancouver restaurants. Service is always exceptional here. All staff are extremely friendly. They’re all very talkative. The food was a “good” on this night. The prime ribs were not the most tender, but was ok. Other than that, the rest of the dishes were excellent! Table side salad was really good, must order every time. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas brunch buffet at Showcase. I've visited many times for work functions and lunches. This was my first time coming in for their buffet.
The food was fresh and delicious. There was also a fantastic variety of cooked foods and a fresh salad bar.
My favourites included the seafood chowder, roast beef, cold seafood selection and desserts. There was a creamy Bavarian Mousse that was incredible, and the Ube Coconut cake was fantastic.
Reservations highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

The best restaurant in Vancouver (in my opinion).
Their poutin is the best!! I tried it last year (2023) and came back after exactly 1 year from Seattle because I couldn’t forget about that experience. Poutin this year was delicious, just like I remembered. They have gravy separately, maintaining the fries crispy!
I love love their cocktail selections too. They have everything from light and sour to sweet and heavy.
I will definitely come back to Vancouver just to visit here again.

I went for the holiday brunch buffet and it was pretty good. I didn’t ask for the name of my server but she was so kind and friendly from the moment we answer the restaurant till we left. She really added to the positive atmosphere for Christmas. Santa walked around and wished us Merry Christmas which I didn’t expect. That was a lovely surprise, too!! The fried rice and the carrot and the roast beef were so yummy~~!! I’m so glad I picked this place for my first Christmas meal~!!

What an amazing find this plane is in Tropic, Utah!! Went two nights in a row for dinner.
We loved the live country music ( nightly from 6:30-9:30), cool country ambience, tasty food ( excellent brisket and mushroom pasta) and friendly service.
Our server. The second night was Skylar… so attentive and truly one if the best servers we’ve had anywhere. She kept checking to ask if we needed anything and was most attentive she will be good at whatever she ends up doing.
Our only suggestion to the restaurant would be that the videos of rodeos right above the musicians heads are distracting. The musicians work for food only so are very happy to get tips btw.
Do not miss this place if staying in this beautiful area! Great selection of beer and cider too.

Quite a pricy restaurant for a nice night out at Vancouver, but definitely worth the money! They have a very good portion size of food, cooked right in front of us on the metal plates. The portions are sooo large but the food is tasty, not many vegetables options and not much sauces catering to plantbased food consumers. I love the customer service, some of them were alittle anxious but overall it was fine. I enjoyed the music, the atmosphere was alittle bit weird.

Awesome experience and food! We went to Kobe for my wife's 40th birthday and it did not disappoint. We ordered the ultimate, hibachi Master, kids shrimp and kids steak and they were all awesome. The steak, chicken, prawns, scallops, and lobster were all cooked and seasoned perfectly as were the vegetables.
But Kobe isn't just about the food, and the show was also awesome! We had a great chef who did all the tricks including throwing shrimp in people's mouths!!
The only thing I didn't like is our small party of 4 was seated with another big loud party of 7 so it was hard to talk. It's not their fault so it was still a 5/5 experience.
