Really enjoyed the Ramen broth, didn't expect it, but the Shoyu was amazing. Noodles were onthe thinner side. Ramen comes with the broth and noodles, bamboo sprouts but the egg, and chili or anythingelse is extra. The Takoyaki was squishy and soft, don't recommend that it was disappointing.
Rafael Torres - 2 months ago
It's a nice place. The ramen was thin and not so chewy. Takoyaki was yummy but I had tried better. The garlic soup ramen that was special this summer was toasty flavor. The ikura was the star! It was very fresh and wanted more rice.

Today I ordered the shio ramen with ajitama and zangi on the side. Santouka is my brother and I’s favourite ramen spot in Vancouver. We love getting the shio ramen for its rich broth, perfect noodles, perfectly cooked and flavoured ajitama, and tender pork belly . The zangi was tender, juicy, and seasoned well; paired with a house made mayo/egg/onion sauce. Santouka is my favourite ramen restaurant because the environment is clean, precise, and fits the Japanese aesthetic. The servers and cooks are all very nice people. I’ve ordered the large ramen here which was A LOT of food. I probably should’ve ordered the regular size. I’ve also had the tsukemen at this location and it was also very flavourful but the cold noodles just wasn’t my vibe.

🌟 Our frequent visits to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka on West Broadway are no secret and for good reason! This spot consistently impresses us with its rich, well-balanced ramen that hits all the right spots. 😋
Here are our top three ramen selections:
Shio Ramen (Mild salt flavour): The broth is light yet flavorful, with just the right amount of creaminess and mild saltiness to elevate the dish.
Shoyu Ramen (Soy sauce flavour): The rich, bonito-flavoured broth stands out, with classic Shoyu styles that aren't overly salty but still pack a punch.
Kara-Miso Ramen (Spicy soybean paste flavour): The pork broth in this ramen is seasoned with hot spices and miso, resulting in a flavorful yet not overpowering spice level.
The chashu is consistently excellent, melting in the mouth with perfect fat and cut, regardless of the broth you choose.
While some may find the portions at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka on the smaller side, we believe they're perfect for a light lunch, offering a quick and satisfying meal option. 🍜✨

Hands down one of the best ramen in Vancouver! The broth is well balanced richness, creaminess and not too salty. The pork is crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender. Staff at this location always so kind and happy to see you! Thanks very much.

The food was good, but not everyone liked their food. Unfortunately, we won’t come back!
The atmosphere was so loud and noisy, where we had to change our table!
The washrooms need to be attended to on hourly basis.
The service was good, and they came multiple time to refill our water, but whenever we needed them and called them while they serving the tables around us, they couldn’t hear us!

We went for their 2-6pm happy hour - Horrible food. Poke bowl was a bad choice. I wanted it to be good because it looked so attractive. Rice tasted of old socks, masago had a bad sour flavour, tuna was not fresh, bad odor infected the plain watermelon radish too. The avocado component was good and seaweed salad was okay. The brussel sprouts were so salty and sour as to be inedible. I would rather go hungry than eat that food. Bacon was just a plain salt flavour. That was the first time I’ve ordered from a restaurant and the food was inedible.
Flat bread was okay, but they obviously used pre-frozen bread. Poutine was too salty too, but at least edible.
They were apologetic and took the poke bowl off and gave $3 off the sprouts, so the service was good. Hope your experience there will be better than ours, but I can not recommend.

Our waiter, Enjay (NJ) was super friendly and helpful. We ordered the spicy thai chili wings and rqstd extra sauce on the side. One of the best orders of wings we have had anywhere. Meaty and most flavorful. Also ordered the salmon burger but I should have ordered it well done. The yam fries are a must - delish!

We went here for an early dinner because we were gifted a gift card. Between two people, we ordered and shared the cajun salmon risotto and the two piece fish and chips. The risotto was tasty with a creamy sauce, though the salmon tasted a bit dry. The dish overall was warm, but not hot. The fish and chips were fine and the fish came out hot, but the fries were more on the "warm" side. The two pieces of fish were good portions whereas the fries portion was really small.

Solid service, polite and professional. The burger was a letdown. Patty lacked flavor, made from low-quality cheap meat and tasteless. Toppings and bun were fine. I may give them another chance to impress.

The service and staff are great. I always enjoy eating at Fatburger locations, and this visit was no different.
The Hawaiian burger was incredibly juicy and delicious—the combination of pineapple, bacon, and the burger was so unique and enjoyable as a new experience. 🍍 🥓 🍔
The mushroom burger was a classic, still juicy, and perfect if you prefer something without the sweetness of the Hawaiian burger. It's absolutely amazing. 🍄 🍔
My favorite part was the fried pickles—crispy, a bit spicy, and so unique to Fatburger. I love them. 🥒 🥒
As always, it was a 5/5 experience. The store itself was classy and cozy, just like a true burger place.
Iman Sh - 2 months ago
personally, the prices are very high. You’re looking at spending up to $20 per person if you’re looking for making it a combo. The place itself was cool for a hot day and the view was nice for people watching, though people tend to watch you.
My service was fast and the people working there were nice and quick, letting me know about some things. I got the 4 taster chickens combo for $18.54 I believe, though it was pricey they gave me 2 extra tenders! Guess everywhere I go and order tenders I seem to get a little extra haha.
The food itself was fresh and the chicken was good, seasoned well and juicy. The fries are good but could be a little more salty but overall very delicious.
I recommend this place if you’re looking for some good fresh and fast food, for reasonable prices if it’s made up to date. Thank you, fat burger.

The service was great and the food was good. Your typical Cactus Club food, nothing out of the ordinary. Pretty chill vibes. We sat on the patio that faced a parking lot, not great, but wasn't terrible. Nice place to stop for some drinks or food. Didn't have to wait to be seated. Parked on the street for cheaper parking.

Was here on saturday for a bite with a friend and we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps which is a favorite and the new green goddess salad. Lettuce wraps were tasty (chicken tasted a little off today though) and the salad was fairly disappointing. Overdressed with very little toppings. Entire thing had 3 pecans, maybe 4 pieces of red pepper, a sliver of avocado and a few crumbs of feta…cactus has always been consistently good for the price point but like most places I feel they’re starting to get a little chintzy with some food items. Service is always superb though. Also you guys used to give tongs for the lettuce wraps and tiny spoons for the sauces…but when I asked another server for those things they claimed to only have regular serving spoons for everything?

Poor Service and Skimpy Portions
I had a frustrating experience at Chipotle. I waited over 15 minutes just to pay, which is ridiculous for a fast-casual spot. When I finally got my food, the chicken and avocado portions were disappointingly small, especially for the price. While the food tasted good, the poor service and lack of value make it unlikely I'll return.
Naveen Handa - 4 months ago
I’m not sure if there were some changes but I’ve never had such full portions of the bowl before. I asked for extra rice and the guy was nice enough to not just add one but two extra scoops! The serving for the beef brisket is one spoonful and it was a lot. Struggled finishing it but I managed to. The service was also excellent and the lunch time crew were nice in my opinion. By the way, they didn’t charge me extra for anything!!
Benedict Santos - 3 months ago
Edit, 1 year later : portions are getting smaller and some employees have a very bad attitude as soon as we are asking for more rice or beans. When they put chicken, they literally put 2 thirds of a scoop and when we ask them to put more they say ''ok double proteins'' and they charge us the extra while the final quantity would be what we would initially get in another Chipotle. Also, we always feel rushed when we're ordering, even when there's no one in line behind us which is very stressful and unpleasant.
Great food, I love their burritos, my fav one is the chicken. Service is pretty amazing most of the time but I had one disappointing experience once. I recommend if you're starving and looking to have a good value/price meal!

Broth was tasty and I love the really thin noodles !! 🍜 food was really quick to come out.
They also have frozen ramen.

I've past by this ramen place for a couple years now and never had thr chance to stop by and try it out. Buy today was the day! Menu was easy to follow and order. Wanted tea but you had to pay for it.. and if you wanted lemon then, they didn't have it for your hot tea. I ordered the Umami Shoyu ramen (chicken broth) thinner noodles were cooked well, not too al dente, bamboo shoots raw red onions, green onions, soy marinated egg and 2 slices of chicken breast. They could of added larger pieces of chicken breast. The bowls are deceiving as it tapers down. Ordered the mochi aga tofu, cooked well not too chewy and the tempura enoki mushrooms. My friend ordered the Goyaki Tonkotsu Shoyu (seafood but port flavored broth) super seafood, thicker noodles and richer broth for sure. Overall if I was around the area and need a quick bite I'd stop by again

I often come here for their Gyokai Tonkotsu Ramen, as the thick soup base makes it an unforgettable bowl. When I finish the noodles, the rich flavour of the soup prompts me to finish the soup; this time, it’s no exception. They also did a great job on the matcha sundae. The staff is friendly, and everything is quite authentic, as if I were in Japan.

This is really fun Ramen joint with a very tradition Jap style ramen eatery. Friendly staff and hearty ramen bowls. Spicy Miso ramen was very good, the egg for whatever reason was extra tasty here.

Came here with friends and it was an okay experience. The food wasn't too bad...Decent ramen but a bit pricey for what it was. 1.5 of our dishes were good. Mine was quite sweet tasting for ramen. The menu was a bit different and confusing to follow especially since you don't order directly with the waitress and on the paper slip. Beverages were interesting, creative but not our favorite. I think we were hoping for a more traditional ramen but this was definitely an experience! Quite small and crammed together which made it super warm inside.

It’s shocking that this locale is closer to 4 stars instead of 5 as I found it to be a 5 star experience across the board.
The staff were super attentive and nice. I had turned my waffle chicken Benny into a bowl and did not interpret the removal of bread and fruit to also mean the waffle was gone. The manager/owner overheard my question and added waffles on the side at no extra charge. Super cool of him!
The food is also phenomenal. Waffle was super fluffy, chicken juicy and crunchy, and the beignets were better than those we just at Disney World. Actually full and fluffy. I found the potatoes to be a bit perfume-y but I still ate them all. Would likely opt for the tots next time but not a complaint. Wife loved her crispy avocado Benny.
Really recommend checking it out if you’re in town before they close. Good luck to the new waitress!

Cute brunch spot!
First off, the best cinnamon roll pancakes I have tried yet. Good bennies and it’s nice that they are local and good quality. The menu has a lot of great items on it. They also have a ketchup that’s spiced and really fun to have with your tator tots.
This location is small and busy!

Went as a large group for brunch. Servers were really accommodating and tried to seat us in the best place possible. The restaurant is small so it was difficult to seat all 6 people comfortably.
Food was good and reasonably priced. We tried a variety of menu options.

Want to start this off by saying the workers were very nice, and our waitress was lovely. The food was nice, but the fruit wasn’t good quality, as you can see from the color of the watermelon. I want to give this place more stars, but the biggest issue was that there was no air conditioning or fans in the restaurant (or any that I noticed), and on a 26 degree day it was really uncomfortable to dine in.

Came with a party of 4 for brunch on a busy Sunday. Food was average at best, nothing outstanding. Got the eggs benny and it was lukewarm in temperature. I cannot speak for the rest of my party but it gave the impression that my food had been sitting out for a while before it made it's way over. The English muffin was so tough, it was near impossible to cut. Service was friendly enough. Would dine here again if no other options were available but would absolutely not wait in line for it.

We’ve been coming to La Taqueria for years and it’s always been one of our favorite spots, so we were really surprised by tonight’s experience. We ordered tacos separately, but they all arrived on one plate, which felt a bit off. On top of that, the tacos came without any of their usual toppings, and after asking for them to be added back, they returned cold and still missing key elements like the black beans on the new chicharrone taco(which we were specifically coming to try tonight) . The salsas were also brought out so late that we were already halfway through our meal. We know this isn’t the norm for La Taqueria, and we’ve always loved the quality and care that goes into the food here, so this visit felt a little disappointing. We’d love the chance to come back and enjoy the experience we’re used to — hopefully with everything back to the high standard that makes this place so special!

This restaurant is AMAZING !! We ordered the nachos and several tacos. Everything was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. My husband and I both have allergies, gluten & egg, and the Manager, Chris, came out to talk with us in regard to our allergies to make sure the dishes we ordered wouldn't be of concern. Thanks so much! 10/10!

This was my go-to Sushi California before the downtown location opened. I absolutely love their Alaska roll and spicy salmon sashimi! The food here is always delicious with each bite rather enjoyable and the service is very pleasing. The spicy picks aren’t too spicy but aren’t bland either and I love how quick they bring out your order. The servers are attentive but are not overly annoying like some establishments. Everything is also decently priced which makes me quite happy.

Even though the place was quite full when we entered, we were seated right away and the service was quick and efficient. We ordered quite a bit and got our food much faster than expected. The sushi tasted fresh, not too much rice. We ordered some rolls that were not as common and were pleasantly surprised at the balanced and refreshing flavor. The prices were not bad either! So happy we found this place behind all the construction in the area!

The sushi at this place is top-notch, meticulously crafted, and bursting with freshness. It's arguably the best I've had in Vancouver lately. Opting for takeaway, I savored each bite, particularly enjoying the absence of heavy sauces and mayos, allowing the flavors to shine through in a "clean" way. Even the beef teriyaki was served separately, offering flexibility in adding the accompanying sauce. This spot offers a refreshing option for those seeking a wholesome, nourishing meal. Though it was my first time ordering, I'm already planning a return visit. Their newly implemented online ordering system makes takeaway a breeze, with a user-friendly interface that streamlines the process. The only downside is the current construction on Broadway Street, which detracts from the in-person dining experience, making online ordering the preferable choice. Additionally, I'd suggest bringing your own bag for pickup, as they charge for bags otherwise. Another plus is their punctuality; they're always prepared for the indicated pickup time, adding to the convenience of ordering from them.
