Probably one of the best tasting dim sum restaurants I went since I moved to North America 14 years ago. Every food had layers of tastes and aroma. The temperature and textures of the foods were great when they were served.
I had hundreds of good shrimp dumplings, but this one ranks the top. Rich in flavor and aroma, precisely cooked skin and shrimp.
All foods were seasoned perfectly, so you don't even need soy sauce for them. It always makes me happy to find a restaurant that I can actually enjoy the taste of the ingredients, not salt and sugar.
Mushroom dumpling with truffle fills your nose with the aroma with the first bite. I don't usually like overwhelming truffle oil taste, but this one was balanced well. The texture of skin and mushrooms were delightful, too.
My wife mentioned that the egg tart was definitely better than ones from Spain.
For the service, maybe the front desk doesn't feel very welcoming. Although, all the servers were very attentive and nice. If you are getting a bad service, I would reflect whether you are nice to them or not.

Today at lunchtime, we decided to try dining in the city for the first time and naturally headed to our familiar Kirin branch for Hong Kong-style dim sum. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a charming garden on the right side, and stepping inside revealed a stunning display of decorative lights and fountains. The space was both spacious and brilliantly lit.
Since small tables for two were scarce, we were seated at a communal table designed for ten. The staff promptly brought us menus and tea, and we were immediately intrigued by the menu’s innovative take on traditional dim sum. We ordered a selection that included Braised Beef Tendon and Beef Brisket with Flat Rice Noodles, Steamed Prawn and Peatip Dumplings, Steamed Chicken with Fish Maw and Chinese Mushrooms, Steamed Beef Omasum with Shredded Carrot, and even a Vegetarian Goose from the lunch special.
Every dish was delicious with perfectly balanced seasoning and not overly salty. The Vegetarian Goose, in particular, outshone similar offerings at other establishments with its superior flavor and impeccable seasoning. The beef flat noodles were especially impressive—generously portioned, incredibly tasty, and light without any greasiness.
Throughout our meal, attentive staff members consistently cleared our table, and when I requested chili sauce, the server provided a special XO chili sauce that was absolutely delightful and complimentary. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience and highly recommend this restaurant.

When in Richmond BC, you need to hit up a dim sum spot at least once. During this visit, we visited Kirin. It's probably been a very long time since I've been here. The atmosphere is nice and packed with people. The quality of the dim sum here is great and there were unique items that I haven't seen before. The service is top notch and attentive. I liked that they offer two sets of chopsticks, one use for getting food from the center of the table and the other for personal use. They also order two tea pots (one with extra hot water). These little items help make the experience enjoyable. Their deep fried taro was exceptional great. The exterior had a really good texture and taste that I've haven't experienced before.

The dinner set menu at Kirin Seafood Restaurant was impressive, with outstanding food quality and excellent service. We enjoyed a set menu that included creamy butter crab, steamed fish, soy-marinated chicken, roast duck, and soup.
The soup was a flavorful start to the meal. The creamy butter crab was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming, while the steamed fish was tender and fresh, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. The soy-marinated chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the roast duck had a smoky aroma with a well-balanced texture.
The service was attentive and professional, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. Kirin Seafood Restaurant’s dinner set menu is an excellent choice for family gatherings or dining with friends—highly recommended!

Came here for their Abolone and Lobster Special Menu, which is $68.80 per person. Had it once before earlier in the year and was very impressed so decided to come back for a special occasion.
The service here is always amazing and very attentive. Everyone that works here is super courteous and gives great service.
The food is also really good. Each course is cooked properly and is delicious. Ingredients including seafood used are very fresh. My only tiny issue is that the dishes I had this time were all a tad under-seasoned compared to last time. Otherwise, this is a very nice restaurant with good food and fantastic service.

We came here for a dinner with another family on Sunday night. The food quality was fine, just like at other White Spots. Kids had their Pirate Packs while we ordered the Legendary Burger and Chicken Tenders. Endless sides as usual in case you're hungry!
Once we sat down, the servers were good too. But since they didn't have a lot of servers, we had to wait 20 mins to get seated for a table of 8. You also can't make reservations here unlike other White Spot locations. And this was at 5pm .. the start of the dinner rush. So be prepared to wait!
We liked how it was inside Richmond Centre, across from Cactus Club, so we could stroll around after the meal. But parking was hard to find so plan accordingly.

My experience on Monday, Nov 18, 2024 was very good. First , Katerina was very nice. And then they have fast food service. She politely waited so that we can think about what we want. There was a fireplace for people and it was kid friendly. Katerina was also very friendly. There is a separate menu for kids and adults. I have some pictures down below.
I wish I could give this a 7 star review.

We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with the White Spot Club Sandwich, Fish & Chips and the classic Egg Benedict! It was soo good However the coffee we ordered was bad, it was cold and tasted watery.
I must say our server Kamila was fabulous, she kept visiting our table, we had mentioned to have our items served without bacon and she made sure our food restrictions were heard. She was very attentive and deserves a raise! Koodos to her!

My friends dad took 5 of us here for dinner since he's been a regular here for many years. Very busy here on a Friday night with ppl still lining up at the door on a heavy rainy night. Everything we ordered was delicious. The one dish I've never tried was the salted pork on rice in stone pot. Very tasty. I definitely will bring my wife and kids here one day.

Delicious Xiao Long Bao!
My friends and I had Christmas brunch here and it was crazy busy! I guess it's an Asian tradition to eat out after Christmas since Chinese restaurants are always open!
We reserved a day before, but even when we got there, we had to wait a few minutes before getting seated so I highly recommend you reserve.
We ordered:
- Xiao Long Baos
- fried pork dumplings
- fried tofu
- dong po rou
- Shanghai style rice cakes
- laksa noodles (I forgot the actual name but it's like laksa)
The Xiao Long Bao was my favorite. The texture of the wrapper and cooking was excellent. Good protein to wrap ratio.
Our total was $32/per person including tip for 4 guys and we were all pretty satisfied.
The interior of the restaurant was also very nice and spacious for a Chinese restaurant. The tables and seating were roomy and comfortable. Lighting was also nice.
Plenty of free covered parking as well, perfect for when it's raining heavily.
Overall, my experience here with the food and atmosphere was great and this is definitely going to be one of my new go-to spots for Shanghai cuisine in Richmond.

I'm not an expert in chinese cuisine, but I really enjoyed the food at Shanghai River!
I went for lunchtime. I had pork Xiao long bao, wonton soup, and AMAZING dumplings with goose liver and sticky rice. I will go back to try more dishes.

Service was very friendly and unrushed. I'd certainly go back again.

Friendly service—they keep checking up on your table and are always refilling tea and water. The food came out quickly and was still extremely hot. Every dish was amazing and tasted really good! The two standout dishes were the fried crispy pork ribs and the cream sauce shrimp noodle. Highly recommend!

There is free limited spot parking in the back. You have to park there and tell the server your car number. Otherwise parking in front is paid.
Heard good things about this place so thought I'd try it. Tried some dishes people mentioned.
Hot and sour soup - not standard. No wood ear, bamboo, etc. Taste was ok.
Mongolian beef - everybody seems to rave about this but it was nothing special. Quite salty.
Bei fung tong chicken wings - presentation is very nice. Lots of fried garlic pieces to take home and mix with rice. Chicken didnt have much seasoning but it was crispy and very juicy.
Cumin lamb fried noodles - quite standard. Tasty but can get this dish elsewhere for cheaper.
Overall nothing really stood out in terms of taste. We went on Sunday during lunch time and it was just us and another table. I would try other dishes next time.

The best authentic sichun chinese restaurant in Richmond Canada. When we visit to BC, having lunch a couple day on this restaurant. Food potions are enough for 3 people. Many items on the menu were sold out at 6:30pm Friday night, which was frustrating. While the food itself was as good as usual, it was overshadowed by the overall atmosphere.
The noise level was unbearable, primarily due to a large, rowdy group that seemed to have taken over the place. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t seem to acknowledge the disruption or take any steps to address it. It felt like they didn’t care about the experience of other patrons at all.
I hope they can improve on their service and atmosphere in the future, because I really do love their food. But until then, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Cactus Club Richmond – A Fantastic Dining Experience
My recent visit to Cactus Club Richmond was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we experienced outstanding service and a welcoming atmosphere. There was very little wait time to get a table, which was a pleasant surprise. A gentleman warmly greeted us and guided us to our table, setting the tone for a great evening.
Our server, Lianne (if I remember correctly), was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We ordered sushi, fries, coffee, and a margarita, and every dish exceeded expectations. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the margarita was perfectly balanced. The food quality was fantastic, making every bite enjoyable.
Despite the high-quality food and service, the prices were reasonable, making the experience even more worthwhile. The ambiance was lively yet relaxing, creating the perfect setting for a great meal. Whether you’re visiting for a casual dinner or a special occasion, Cactus Club Richmond delivers both in service and taste.
Overall, this visit left a lasting impression, and I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for delicious food and great hospitality. I will definitely be returning!

Ordered the Salmon Aburi Roll, Mini Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and Truffle Fries. The salmon roll was absolutely delicious 😋
What made it even better was the very reasonable pricing - a fantastic deal for the quality and quantity of food. Definitely recommend checking out their happy hour menu

Staple hangout, good food, service, and ambiance. Just that sometimes it can get overrated, and the same cookie-cutter crowd comes here. I personally love how Richmond has so many great restaurants to offer and in various cuisines... but I still will come back to Cactus for the usual dishes from time to time.
Big negative, though, was the 2hr limit! We ordered so much and would have ordered more...so we transferred to Hestia, a new local.

Not much special, especially food that cannot surprise you, so too normal. However, the service is good. The environment is not too noisy, dark enough for a formal dinner with your beloved one. The price is high, but I guess no where is cheap these days. Parking is crazy in Richmond Center. Be prepared to go early to find parking unless you take public transit.

I was warmly welcomed by Anshul, who greeted me with a big smile on her face. She always made my order with such care, like she was preparing it for herself. The big veggie sub was absolutely delicious, and the addition of pickles took it to the next level. What really made it mouth-watering was the tandoori powder she added. A huge thanks to the owner for putting in so much effort to maintain this wonderful location. I truly appreciate the great experience!

I went upstairs after a Lego event downstairs. It was my first time eating at their renovated food court upstairs.
I saw on their digital menu that they are offering a manager special “Mama burger combo for $7.99” That’s unheard of during these times. I gladly lined up. Service was extra friendly and organized. The thing was it was ALMOST a 5 star. I was just surprised the mama burger seemed to have shrunk a touch… it’s not what I remembered. However, the quality is top notch. Normally this combo is $14. Still an excellent deal. 😬👍

Hurray, we found a new gem inside the Richmond Public Market. Wonder Wok—is no doubt a game changer in Chinese set plates located in the food court! Their unique, quality ingredients and dishes really set them apart, and the friendly staff make the experience even better. I always didn’t like eating in this type of fast food serving style as I thought they’re just about the same everywhere (lack of uniqueness and same cooking style), no but not here. It’s like the quality dining in a Chinese fine dining restaurant. For just $15, you get a large tray or a set meal with rice plus three sides and free soup. Good deal!
Definitely my new go-to favourite for a food court Chinese cuisine!

A food stall in Richmond Public Market, which has dozens of other food stalls offering tempting options. What attracted me to Wonder Wok was the mountain of fried goods on the window of the buffet. I ordered 3 items with carb option, which was the best value for the price.
First of all, for the carb, get the chow mein. It's perfectly cooked, with charred taste, not too oily. The deep fried squid tentacles was great, along with popcorn chicken, perfect if you are craving for fried food. I also liked the pork riblets with squash and black bean sauce. My wife adored the eggplant with fish balls, as well as honey garlic pork. The order came with soup or tea, and I opted for the soup, which I did not regret. The soup was simple broth, refreshing for after meal.
While I only visited a few times, I'd dare to say that Wonder Wok is my favourite stall in the market as we speak.

Food was a 3.75. I rounded up for the actual stars.
The popcorn was good not memorable. Sauteed gai lan was cooked well. It was seasoned well and has a good crunch still. The beef short ribs were a little tough. The flavor on these were underwhelming.
All the food was just luke warm. Crank up them lamps and chaffing troughs.

This place had me at the Stewed Pigs Feet. Great taste and the sauce is not overly thick.
The Stir-Fried Beef and Onion was too salty. Would not order that again.
Staff spoke English and fairly friendly. $8.99 for 2 items on white rice, fried rice or noodles. $9.50 for 3 items. Everything comes with either soup or tea.
The crab are prepared to 6 different flavours starting at $12. The Ginger & Onion crab was amazingly tasty.

The pizza was amazing. The crust and the whole pizza was crunchy, warm and tasty too! I do recommend this restaurant if you want a nice meal for your lunch or dinner. The only reason I put 4 stars for this restaurant, is because the slices weren't very consistent with the sizes and toppings.

Took advantage of their unlimited topping for $8.88 promotion and for a chain restaurant, the pizza was pretty good, though it looks like they skimp on the amount of topping they put on the pizza. The ones on display in the counter sure looks like it has more toppings than the pizzas I got. The wings were also really good, not soggy like other pizza places. The staff was really nice and friendly.

Here’s a review of my recent visit to Bubble Fruity 🍧:
Wide Variety of Desserts 🍮🍰: Bubble Fruity offers a vast array of desserts, from traditional Chinese treats (hot/cold) 🥢 to snacks like fried noodles 🍜, toasts, and sandwiches 🥪.
Fresh and High-Quality Ingredients 🥭🍓: They create delicious and refreshing desserts using only the freshest ingredients 🌱!
Ambiance 🍵: This dessert house has a Hong Kong-style atmosphere 🇭🇰. The place is often packed, but it’s a great spot for hangouts and dates 💕.
Friendly and Attentive Service 😊: The staff are super friendly, attentive, and happy to help with any customization options you might need 🥰.
However, there are a few things to note:
Long Wait Times ⏳: Popular items like snow ice 🍧 and waffle sandwiches 🧇 can have long wait times, especially during peak hours.
Prices 💰: Some desserts may be a bit pricier than others in the area, but trust me, the quality justifies the cost! 💸
Unannounced Holiday 🛫: They were closed for the whole month, which makes sense since it’s a home business 🏠—everyone needs a break! 🌴
Menu Highlights 🌟:
Hot Black Sesame Paste 🍧
Hot Tofu Pudding 🍮
Conclusion 🎉:
Bubble Fruity Dessert House in Richmond is a must-visit for dessert lovers! With a wide variety of options, fresh ingredients, and a Hong Kong-style atmosphere, it’s a great spot to satisfy your sweet tooth 🍭. Be prepared for potential wait times ⏰, but the quality and taste make it well worth the visit! 😋

HK style OG dessert place, ran by family owned biz... Well they also have OG style spam and eggs instant noodles. If you're from HK you would know what I'm talking about. Nothing like chains that are all fancy, sometimes places like these are places that bring back how traditional Chinese dessert places were like. Nothing fancy, but the simple stuff we ate when we're young/back home. I might be wrong, but I think they make their own black sesame dumplings etc. Sorry, not many pics, got too excited eating my favorite fluffy cream toast, although that might be Taiwanese, but it's simple like and gets satisfies my craving!
Only flaw, cash only and they don't take emt or have an atm, but few stores down is HSBC...
