The best French Restaurant in Sydney. Constantly delicious food from Ludo’s kitchen and a great wine list. Very personal service from Xav and the staff in the front of house. You’ll find all the greats of French cuisine on the menu. Book ahead as they’re always busy in this intimate space.

Excellent. You will not be disappointed. The best French food we have had in years. They met all points on taste, presentation and service. We started with goat cheese salad and Escargot. For Entree we had Veal Casserole and Beef Bourguigon. You won’t be disappointed

We had the pleasure of dining at Bistro Papillon last night, and I must say, it was a truly unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and cozy atmosphere transported us to the streets of Paris. The decor was charming, with soft lighting, rustic wooden accents, and vintage French posters.
The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who knew their menu inside out. But the real pièce de résistance was the food – oh, the food! Each dish was a masterclass in French cuisine, with bold flavors, exquisite presentation, and generous portions.
What truly sets Bistro Papillon apart is the attention to detail and the love that clearly goes into every aspect of the dining experience. From the freshly baked bread to the carefully curated wine list, every element is a testament to the chef's passion for French cuisine.
In short, Bistro Papillon is a must-visit for anyone who loves French food, or just great food in general. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Overall: 4/7
Docking a point for the cost, but overall this place did not taste special or otherwise noteworthy in any positive way.
Generally found the savoury dishes quite bland and lacklustre. Desserts were better, but the apple tarte tatin had a terrible crust…
Escargot: 3/7
So expensive for something so underwhelming… it came without the shells, under seasoned and generally bland.
Would not order.
Beef tartare: 4/7
Again under seasoned, but the beef and other ingredients seemed high quality. Horseradish was a nice accompaniment.
Country terrine: 4/7
Better seasoned, fairly tasty - but not much particular to say. Bread is really hard…
The relish was good.
Onion soup: 4/7
Unremarkable as well. There’s always a certain taste in these soups that I personally don’t enjoy, not sure what spice is the cause…
Probably decent if you like French onion soup.
Duck confit: 5/7
Pretty solid. The veggie mix was good, and the duck was well cooked with tender meat and a crispy skin. But it was one of those instances where the meat was getting a bit dry, while still being tender.
Sauce was good, albeit a bit thin.
Colonel: 5/7
Palette cleaser - just a shot of vodka and some sorbet, was good.
Creme brûlée: 5/7
Very very rich. Tastes good.
Tarte tatin: 3/7
The apples are pretty good with the ice cream. But the problem is that the pastry was terrible. It was so soft and actually difficult to cut through.

Having French heritage and living in Haute-Savoie it is important to introduce my wife to authentic French cuisine.
Bistro Papillon has excellent service and authentic dishes, the staff members were attentive and accommodating. The raclette, flammkuchen were enjoyable and exactly as I remembered bringing back memories.
There are a lot of other great items on the menu I will be trying when I return.

If you’re looking for an authentic German-style bar and restaurant, this spot is a must-visit! The menu offers a variety of delicious German dishes—think bratwurst, schnitzels, sausages , and hearty sides. Pair your meal with their impressive selection of German beers, from crisp lagers to rich dunkel brews.
The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual night out. However, if you’re seeking a quieter setting for a celebration or simply want to unwind with a drink, I highly recommend going on a Sunday. Weekdays tend to be bustling, but Sundays offer a more relaxed vibe, allowing you to truly savor the experience.
Whether you’re a fan of German cuisine, great beer, or both, this place delivers a fantastic mix of flavors and ambiance. Cheers!

The lady at the front desk of this restaurant is the best I’ve ever seen in any CBD spot. She’s so friendly and patient, always greeting customers with positive energy. We come here very often was half because of her—she’s that awesome. (I should’ve left this review before Christmas, she deserves a killer year-end bonus:)
And aside from her amazing service, the Hot Buffalo chicken wings here are to die for.
This place is fire and more people need to know about it

Food was good, pretzel was not, not fresh delicious one just basic store bought...
Platter was delicious, good mix of meats.
Cesar salad dressing was watered down tasteless.
Love the beer selection and 1L mugs.

I am a huge fan of the Mon - Wed weekly deals this place has!! Such a great deal, and the food is excellent. I have come here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very fun and relaxed, ideal for after work drinks and snacks. Definitely recommend!

I went to this restaurant a few days ago and overall I somewhat enjoyed my experience. The price of food compared to what you get is not the best. Here is the wurst platter for $30 that I got. Portion should have been much larger.

Well executed experience with no flaws in food, service or atmosphere… but also no particular standouts either.
Scampi nigiri was greatly hyped but fell a bit short on taste. All the sushi was above average but not memorable. Lamb cutlets were quite tender but relied heavily on the accompanying sauce.
The food would be an instant recommend at normal prices, but the value proposition did not make itself apparent with the dishes we ordered.

We opted for the Tasting menu, and the food is exceptional! The atmosphere is wonderful, and the service is fantastic. We had the good fortune to be seated in front of the kitchen, which is such a great experience. I highly recommend!!! Had such a great night, Absolutely 10/10, we will be back for sure

My first dining experience at Toko was excellent. Had a business lunch for about 8 people and went with the set menu. The food was beautifully presented and so appealing to the senses that forgot to take photos of much of it before eating it! Service was impeccable and the ambience was modern and relaxing.

Exceptional Service and Memorable Dining Experience!
Our evening at Toko Dining was made unforgettable thanks to Sonia. She is amazing and truly elevated our experience! The food, the cocktails, and the atmosphere were all fantastic, but Sonia’s cheerful and attentive service was the highlight. I just got my visa approved, and Sonia organized a special dessert to celebrate. We will definitely be back and plan to bring more friends with us. Thank you, Sonia, for making our night so special!

One of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to. The simplicity of it all is the reason this place shines. There are no gimmicks nor overly creative fusion attempts here. The fish is fresh and wonderfully tasty. The grill is also simple and works great turning out delicious steak. I ordered the wagyu sashimi and it was awesome. Darn thing just melts in your mouth. I was lucky to sit at the bar in front of the sushi chef and her assistant and we treated to an epicurian theatre for two hours. Oh, don't forget the desert. The chocolate fondant is crazy great.

We stopped in for a drink during happy hour and managed to snag the window table. The gentleman serving us was really friendly and helpful. We tried a grapefruit margarita and a lychee martini. Both drinks were well made, sweet without being overly so. A lovely place to stop for a drink. They have an outdoor patio too!

Cosy bar, great cocktails, friendly staff.
Came for the happy hour drinks and tried every one, all of them good size and delicious. Bartender was very welcoming and personable.
Could do with a better outdoor seating area like next door as standing around barrels isn’t ideal.
Would happily come again and relax on the balcony with a cocktail.

If you are a fan of whisky, stay clear of this place. While the selection may look great on the photos, reality is much worse… You will be paying very premium price for whiskies that already aired out so much in the bottles that they barely have the taste they should…
The atmosphere is great, but that’s about it. Also the servers were extremely slow even though the place was half empty.
Would not recommend

Delicious drinks, impressed to see cauliflower popcorn was packed with cauliflower florets and no filler, impressed to see Taiwanese-style fried chicken on the menu and that the chicken had been marinated! 👍👍👍 Only critique were fries were a bit empty inside. Deserved more customers at 5pm on a Saturday!

Dining at O Bar in Sydney was a memorable experience. The panoramic views alone are worth the visit, offering a stunning backdrop of the city skyline that added to the ambiance. But what truly set the evening apart was the staff’s genuine warmth and attention to detail. They made me feel exceptionally welcomed, going above and beyond by leaving a personalized note at my table and even surprising me with a beautifully presented dessert.
The menu was refined, with each dish crafted to balance bold flavors with elegant presentation. My main course was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were well thought out and distinctive. The cocktail selection was also impressive, with unique flavors that complemented the meal.
While the dishes and views were captivating, it was the small, thoughtful gestures from the staff that left a lasting impression.
O Bar is a place where you feel like more than just a customer.
For an upscale dining experience with a personal touch, I highly recommend O Bar Dining!

The views from the 46th are amazing.
The restaurant floor moves, so you have a 360° view of Sydney.
All the staff is extremely professional. They are very kind and helpful.
The food is very good. Standard portions for a fine dining restaurant.
It is perfect for special occasions and celebrations.
Ruben Sanchez - 3 weeks ago
Whilst all the staff were lovely, I was very disappointed by the following:
- My main issue is that I had marked ‘Anniversary’ in my reservation, and then was asked twice after arriving what the occasion was. This would have been fine however, when the dessert came out, the staff wished us a happy birthday and wasn’t sure who the birthday person was.
I feel like there was a massive breakdown in communication and the question of the occasion wasn’t passed on and therefore why clarify with me if you aren’t going to make note of it.
- We were served by different people each time throughout the night and I had to ask to be told about each dish that was served.
The view however is spectacular. The beef main and mango dessert are really the standout, so save enough room for it. The other dishes are decent.

Amazing experience, you can see all the city while drinking or eating at your table. The silver menu is worth the cost, the food is great and the landscape too.
Unfortunately they forgot to bring us their homemade chocolates included in the menu and we forgot to ask before leaving.

Down an alleyway, opposite Felix, is this little gem. It's all about shared plates. The hummus was delicious & the octopus was nice & spicy. There could have been a larger serve of the focaccia. The ladies serving were a well trained team. You can sit out eating under the stars or the awning comes out for inclement weather. Unlike Felix, the bill was very reasonable.

MOST HONEST REVIEW OF ASH ST CELLAR 2024
It is snack sized. Don’t bring a large group unless you’re spending a lot.
Scallops: 7/10 great flavour
Bread: 5/10
Beetroot: 7.5/10 very good
Wild Boar Ragu: 6.5/10 It was cooked well but the seasoning wasn’t what it could be. The Wild Boar flavour was over powered by aged Parmesan.
Pork Cutlet (Milanese) - 8/10 Very good, although a lot of bone.
Market fish 6/10 - it was something like $36 and it’s just one fillet of John Dory overcooked, for that price there shouldn’t be any faults and it should be clever and creative.
The Chicken with eggplant and Raisin: 5/10 this dish wasn’t thought through and get rushed to get on the plate. Would none order
Mb9+ Wagyu rump cap: It was cooked medium rare, Any chef that knows his steak knows that this cut is tough as nails at medium rare and needs to be cooked to medium. Lack of cooking knowledge and amateur mistake, we couldn’t eat this dish, it wasn’t edible which is a problem cause it is expensive. The waiters saw us complain and turned the blind eye… that borderline ruined the experience.
Desserts were good but not great, first one was a panacotta with just some pistachio and literal honey over the top which anyone could do at home.
Meringue Eton mess: Was nice and refreshing, Would recommend order.
Lowdown: it’s good for buisness people who don’t know about food.
Not good for large groups or people who like dislike small portions.

Had the $75 chef’s tasting menu tonight and it was just okay. The highlight was the cacio e pepe arancini and the grilled focaccia with the hummus. Sadly the mains (chicken and pasta) were mediocre, nothing too special especially at the price point I was expecting to be wow’d. For dessert, they served panna cotta with a sprinkle of pistachios and literal honey. My friends said they enjoyed it and it reminded them of a soft serve but to me it was not very well thought out, literally tasted like yogurt with honey (which can be made at home).
However, service was quite good considering we were in a big group. If the opportunity ever came up I would go again for their à la carte menu and give them another go.

I would absolutely recommend the tasting menu as you get to try a little bit of everything. Super delicious and fresh dishes. The service however, was lacking. Our dinner ended up taking three hours due to the slow service.

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is so delicious with great gluten free garlic bread and amazing casein free and gluten free almond slice with cherry sorbet! Chicken and beef was good too. We had amazing cocktails too. The atmosphere is great in the ivy lane. Will definitely be back here again!

We loved this restaurant for the service, the food, the building and the overall experience - was well worth the money, which didn’t end up being that much, but we didn’t go crazy. We had the dim sum, Peking duck and the beef dish. Everything was perfectly done, especially the beef. While the food was good, the service was amazing as the ambience inside the restaurant which both made it special. I loved the discreet location in the alley and the beautiful restored building. Definitely worth a visit!

Best Dim Sum ever! Highly recommend this place 🥰 We ordered 'Steamed dim sum platter', 'Deep-fried dim sum platter', and 'Chinese roasted duck(half size)'. All the dishes were perfect and the tap beer was super😍

Above average Chinese 'fine' dining. Overall good was decent. Peking duck was good; flavorful, good skin, moist meat. However, the clams were slightly bitter, and the vegetables decent. Restaurant was a quite loud too, but service was good. Nice place to take those from out of town, but would maybe look elsewhere if you want to find a more traditional, good wok hay place. More catered to a western palette.

The food is excellent at Mr Wong. We don't have a booking and had to wait about an hour for a table, but it was well with it. The kitchen is on show on the ground floor, so you can see the flurry of activity that goes into preparing the food. The rice was delicious, but about 3 times too much for me. I recommend sharing one portion between 2 or 3, depending how hungry you are. My main course was packed with texture as well as flavour, and the decor inside gives a really nice feel to the place.
