We recently celebrated our son & partners birthdays at Rockpool.
From the moment we entered the service, food & atmosphere was exceptional.
We shared 4 entrees, and enjoyed our mains individually. They even served an individual birthday cake with candle in recognition of their celebration.
All dishes were faultless in their execution and attention to detail.
We were lucky to be seated upstairs on a mezzanine level looking over the downstairs dining and with a view of the open kitchen.
Wait staff were attentive without being annoying. They were very helpful in recommending dishes.

I recently hosted a corporate function dinner, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely exquisite. Every detail was carefully managed, making the evening truly memorable for our guests.
A special shoutout to Tess, who provided outstanding service throughout the evening. Her attentiveness and professionalism made a significant difference.
I highly recommend this venue for any corporate or special event. Thank you to the entire team for making our event a success!

We booked the Rockpool for my birthday as wanted to celebrate the occasion. From the moment of entry into the grand historic civil building the staff and service were exceptional.
Every person on staff did their job so well and were friendly with a warm humour, very knowledgeable about the menu and truly know 5 star service.
The restaurant entry is quite grand, the aim dining room has comfortable seating.
And the food, for the starters we had the octopus and potato, the snapper crudo - both were so good, highly recommend. My sister also ordered the steak tartare which she enjoyed.
For mains, the coral trout was fantastic - the chilli oil packed a nice punch. I ordered the chuck on the bone and it was the only dish that didn’t stand up to the rest, it was a bit chewy. For dessert the crème caramel was a solid choice.
Excellent rage of cocktails, the Delicious Sour was perfection especially for anyone who loves peaches.
Overall we had a really nice night. The restaurant has a extensive menu, it’s a bit pricey but this is a place to go to celebrate an occasion for sure 🍸

I recently dined at Rockpool Sydney Grill and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the T-bone steak, which was perfectly cooked to a medium-rare as recommended. It literally melted in my mouth. The entrees were all exceptional, showcasing the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the final course—a pavlova that was simply out of this world.
The only slight downside was the service. It felt as though our table was being handled by too many different servers, leading to a lack of coordination at times. However, this was a minor issue in an otherwise fantastic dining experience.
Despite this, I would highly recommend Rockpool Sydney Grill to anyone looking for an exceptional meal, and I will definitely be returning.

You know what, it’s good. The $550 question is whether or not it’s worth the price, and I don’t think it is. I don’t want to come across like we had a poor experience, but it’s very expensive for what we got.
Other than that, service was incredible. The wait staff were very helpful, which is especially important considering the menu is so long. The atmosphere was ok, there were some interesting parts, but it feels a little dated. The food was great, but you’d hope so for that price! Haha.
Overall it’s worth going to! Although at that price there are a lot of good options in Sydney.

We arrived at our booking on time and was promptly seated. Staff were attentive in terms of keeping our table clear of empty plates and ordered being brought out quickly after ordering.
There was quite a large selection in the buffet option we opted for. While you're ordering different types of cut, you couldn't really tell the difference between some of them. You can order your meat plain or with seasoning but seasoning was more like drizzles of what you order and not marinated, some might or might not like that.
Overall, a satisfying experience.

Really great place for an all you can eat. $79 pp as we got there at 6pm on a Thursday. The selection is top tier with varying meats and side dishes including sashimi, sushi, udons etc. the staff were really accomodating and store a surprise birthday cake in their fridge. Can’t beat this place

Unpretentious wine bar with interesting and extensive wine list, plus a suitably wine-matching food menu. There was a problem with one of the dishes we ordered, but staff quickly resolved the situation so I have to say service was first class!

Had the pleasure of dining at Fix twice in a week, have always found Stu and the team to be the epitome of hospitality. The food and wine were incredibly good and the price point spot on.
Pro tip:- always finish with the madeleines 👌

Great Christmas dinner here with BYO for free!
Reasonable prices but great variety of seafood and meats.
As starters, we got oysters that had good meat inside. The potato croquets tasted amazing, too.
The steak was nicely medium rare with amazing colours.
Finally, finishing with the affogato is a must! Hot espresso and liquor over a gelato ice cream. It couldn't get any better.
Highly recommend this place.

Cute spot for afterwork drinks, was recommended by the team at Milsons Point's wine shop so gave it a try.
Pricing ranges from $7 happy hour (4pm-6pm) to $30 glass. The inside is lively and quite packed at happy hour, the outside is by the main street so its on the noisy side.
I only had nuts, bread, oysters and olive for snacks but they were good so I have high hopes for hot food.
Service is great outside peak hours.

I had been wanting to come here for a while after hearing so many positive reviews. It did not disappoint. The flavours were delicious and made me want more. Atmosphere was amazing and the waitor was very informative. Maybe the dessert could be better but that's so small compared to the big flavours that was experienced. Can't wait to be back.

There was 10 of us and we went for a banquet. All dishes were tasty yet you need plenty of time to finish all.
Starters are plenty so make sure to save some space for the mains. Steak was great but most of us were too full at that time.
It’s pretty dark and intimate. You need to take the stairs down.

Amazing. Already beaten most Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Perfectly matched my Zodiac Tiger with my favourite base liquor spiced rum. Tuna is a must try, crab is going to make your table nasty but totally worth it! Dong Po pork is so authentic, just the same as I had in China. If you are new to Chinese cuisine, don't hesitate to try this as the start of long journey. If you are og enough in Chinese cuisine but not yet tried this, you won't regret on picking this for dinner.

What an amazing evening it was! From the moment we stepped in, our jackets were graciously taken and we were promptly seated at the cozy bar.
Then taken to our table by the lovely hostess.
Having Joe as our waiter was truly exceptional. He enthusiastically guided us through his favourite items on the menu and his pleasant demeanour showcased his English charm.
The food arrived right on schedule and each dish was absolutely delightful.
What a fantastic experience at Spice Temple! This was my second visit and I'm already eagerly looking forward to my third.

The most harmoniously taste sandwich i’ve ever had. Ordered ‘The Will Speciall Sandwich’ with only $10 is a bargain in Sydney! Next time I will get 2 sandwiches, 1 is not enough!
It is quite popular so If you can order online, please do so, as it takes around 10mins to make it!
Its hidden inside of a hallway!!

The sandwich fillings were delicious but the gluten-free bread was disappointing. Clearly cheap supermarket gf bread, it fell apart and crumbled as I tried to eat the sandwich. Really a shame as the fillings were so fresh and delicious, and this is probably a great place to eat if you don’t have a gluten allergy.

Enjoyed this place as they had veggie and vegan options! Service was great. Got the veg Mediterranean on sourdough, which was excellent and my partner got the Tempeh Burger (removed Tabouli) on sourdough and he enjoyed that. Would recommend. It’s a grab and go shop, so have to find a bench elsewhere but would highly recommend!

I had the gluten free chicken and prosciutto sandwich (toasted). It was lovely and I especially loved the Gorgonzola 😻 I did find my gluten free bread to be pretty dry and super crusty. I know it can be hard to find good gf options… also I just felt like a little pepper and tomato would be a great addition to this sandwich.

The chophouse has become a new favourite of mine after just one dinner. I know I’ll be back. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed and you immediately feel welcome and at home. It’s not pretentious & the staff are really friendly and down to earth.
The quality of ingredients is an incredibly high standard and every dish followed, cooked to perfection. Steaks were outstanding. The sauces absolutely on point & we could not fault anything.
The cookie skillet was homemade and perfect to cap off a memorable dinner. What was nice was that tables of people around us we could hear the same reactions we had “wow, oooh’ yum”. Just go & enjoy.

First time dining at the venue and what an experience! The only reservation I could get was an 8:45pm one but it’s understandable as it was a beehive of activity.
I also work at a restaurant and was astounded at the range of wines on offer. I opted for a beautiful 2012 Bordeaux which was decanted after presentation. The meat options were phenomenal along with the starters and sides.
You can’t fault any of the food or service, our waitress was extremely good at her job and made the experience even better. All the staff were very professional and it reflects on the business overall.
10/10 would recommend anyone to come and experience the service, quality of food and ambience this stunning venue provides x

Great place for a steak. Delicious steak but slightly disappointed at how thin it was, although this is a harsh criticism. Never had this before but the highlight of the meal was the cabbage which is a must! Good sauce and fries. Great meal overall

One of the best steakhouses in Sydney.
Came here for a work lunch with some long-time industry friends and we were very happy with the food and service.
Looking forward to returning soon for another fantastic meal!

I’m not usually one to seek out steak, so when I visited Chophouse, I didn’t have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal.
After the entree (wagyu skewers), I had the pleasure of trying the most exquisite squid ink and truffle salami—oh, I was in heaven! The combination of flavors was incredible and added an extra layer of indulgence to the experience.
Then came the steak itself which was cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium rare, though I’d have preferred it a bit rarer, but honestly, it was so good I didn’t mind. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful, to the point where I didn't even use any of the provided sauces—it simply didn’t need them.
We were also treated to freshly shaved truffle, which was a lovely addition. It wasn’t overpowering, and its delicate flavor complemented the steak, chips, and mash potato beautifully. It truly felt like a culinary delight.
The meal ended with a cheese board instead of a traditional dessert, which was a nice touch. And of course, I couldn’t leave without having my favorite Affogato, which rounded out the experience perfectly.
That said, there were a few pieces of steak that were a bit fatty and sinewy, which reminded me of why I'm generally not a fan of meat on the bone. Despite this, the overall experience was fantastic. Would I return? Definitely, if I’m in the mood for some quality red meat!

Been visiting Azuma over the years and came to try their Kaiseki at their new location on Phillip St. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the new layout was open and inviting. The course was well presented, and can clearly see the attention to detail on the small dishes. The journey also included the theme of the Japanese elemental colours and the flavours were well thought out. The fish were also cooked perfectly. The only minor things was the broth in the soup dishes were slightly salty and the zenzai red bean was a tad sweet for my preference. However the flavour profiles were there. If you want to experience a genuine Japanese cuisine in Sydney using some Australian ingredients, I do recommend you to try. Will be back in the future 👍😋

A beautifully appointed modern but authentic style Japanese restaurant that I happened across while staying at the Sebel Hotel next door during the lead up to the Sydney Marathon. The staff were extremely friendly and polite which has been my usual experience in both Japan and Australia. I must admit when I ordered the grilled lamb cutlet for $28.00 I was expecting some sort of side with it. I ordered the agadashi (a favourite of mine) as an entree. Both dishes were superb in both presentation and taste but I was still hungry. I then ordered the tempura prawns and vegetables and again, just perfect🥰 I enjoyed a refreshing ‘Moho’ mocktail with my meal (no alcohol leading up to the marathon 😊). The meal was expensive but for lovers of fine food I thought it was worth it. I’d certainly return❣️🥢🍱🍲🍤

After closing its doors at Chifley Plaza and reopening six months later, Azuma has truly made a grand return! Friends took me out for my birthday dinner, and we had the degustation—it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch throughout the evening, attentive without being intrusive. At the end of the meal, I was surprised with a thoughtful touch—a personalised birthday card with a photo they took of us at the table. It was such a lovely gesture and added to an already memorable experience. Azuma is back and better than ever, making for an exceptional dining experience.

The guacamole was ok, it is nice how the make it at your table! The plantain chips went well with it and I’d never had them before with guacamole so it was nice.
The white wine sangria was nice as well. Very light and refreshing.
The corn ribs were nice and cheesy but nothing too amazing.
The eggplant was a bit soggy but still nice with the sauce on top.
The kingfish was really nice with the milky sauce but the actually texture of the fish was a little strange.
The taco shell was a little thick and the beef filling was a little too smoky for my liking.
Overall meal was just okay, nothing too mind blowing.

Overall Rating: 4/5. Mejico Sydney offers a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine in the heart of Sydney. While the menu leans towards the expensive side, the food is distinctively flavorful and true to its roots. We enjoyed the live guacamole preparation, which added a unique touch to our dining experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our visit. However, outside of the tacos, other dishes were somewhat average in taste. Despite this, Mejico Sydney remains a solid choice for those craving genuine Mexican flavors in a vibrant setting.

Went here with a large group. Service was amazing, great atmosphere, delicious food. Staff were accommodating- despite not eating seafood they were able to arrange me another starter despite our group going with a set menu that had seafood in the starter. Loved the corn ribs, tacos and patatas bravas.

This has gotta be one of Sydney’s best kept secrets for a meal and a solid contender for best pub grub in Sydney. The lamb cutlets are probably the tastiest I’ve eaten EVER!! - (homemade croquettes, mint pea relish, chickpea mayo and crunchy sweet potato crisps.... sooooooo much yum!!) Hat quality cuisine for RSL prices! Home made dumplings, salmon bowl... also amazing!!

5/5 does not reflect the service maddy had provided to my group as well as the two girls who made us some custom drinks (thankyou for your patience the were even better than usual); vodka, sprite, dash of raspberry and lime is a recommendation.
