I’ve had so many fantastic dining experiences at Ms G! The variety of flavours and dishes is truly impressive, making it hard to choose just one. The cheeseburger spring rolls are a must-try—they’re absolutely delicious and unlike anything I've had before! The burrata is wonderfully creamy and just hits the spot. The DJ adds a lively vibe that really enhances the atmosphere, and the staff are always amazing, providing top-notch service with a smile. I’ve been many times and can’t wait to return in November for more great food and good vibes!

Looking for a culinary adventure in Sydney? Look no further than Ms. Gs! This vibrant eatery offers a fusion of Asian flavors that will blow your taste buds away. Start with their inventive appetizers and move on to the mouthwatering steak, all bursting with unique, bold tastes. The dessert is the perfect cherry on top, leaving you craving for more.
However, while the food was top-notch, the service left something to be desired. We had a hiccup with our group payment, and despite the system's capability, the staff wouldn’t accommodate our request for a refund on a mistaken charge. It was a bit of a letdown to an otherwise stellar meal. But if you're here for the food, Ms. Gs delivers in spades!

Well well well, where to start. Friendly staff? ✅ Moody and cool atmosphere ✅ Food? ✅ it was my first visit to Ms. G’s and missy loved up to the hype.
The most talked about dish is probably the cheeseburger spring rolls. And they are amazing but they’re just the tip of the iceberg. The kingfish ceviche with its tangy fresh flavour was outstanding and the prawn toast almost made me cry it was so good. Easily could have ordered those two dishes twice and not shared with the group. For the mains, the prawns and the duck were excellent choices, both packed with flavours and the noodles rounded out the mains nicely. For dessert, the tropical madness with its pine-lime granita, lychee and jackfruit was an elevated take on the pine-lime Splice ice cream, full of nostalgic goodness and super refreshing. The Stoner’s delight was decadent rush Nutella and chocolate and raspberry. Very heady stuff.
Superb non alcoholic chooses, highly recommend temple of spice and busy like a Monday morning.
Shout out to all the staff, they were super cool, fun and engaging. All round a wonderful experience 😃

Absolutely worth the money. For two people, we got four rock oysters, the grilled cuttlefish and crispy pork salad, the smoked brisket bone marrow fried rice, and the stoner’s delight part 3. It was the perfect amount of food and every single dish was incredible. Be prepared for loud music!

What a magnificent restaurant that I never knew about. I have driven past this restaurant 100 times or more and never thought to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised initially by the story that the chef had left at the front of the menu. It was a lovely Story about spices and the history of India and how it was during the peak of spice trading. As he noted in his prologue, an entire Empire, the greatest the world had ever seen was built off it. The food was exceptional and the only thing that perhaps let me down slightly was the butter chicken But overall each dish was exquisite and my experience was so positive that I can’t wait to go back. Highlights were the lamb with Pepper and palak paneer. And frankly the best samosa I have ever eaten. Was I having just a good night ? I’ll know soon enough when I return.

I recently had the chance to dine at a restaurant owned by a lovely gentleman from Chennai, India, who also happens to be the chef! It was a delightful experience, but there were a few surprises and mixed opinions on the food. This place is definitely one of the must-try Indian restaurants in Sydney.
For starters, we were ordered masala dosa and lamb kheema dosa—an unexpected but it was a starter. The dosas were accompanied by chutneys that were flavorful. Next up were the Melagu prawns, which had a mild spice level—pleasant, but we were hoping for a bit more kick.
The Somersby apple cider was a standout it was so fresh that it felt like drinking cider straight from the orchard. Our mains consisted of basmati rice (a generous portion) paired with railway chicken gravy. As an Indian, the gravy was on the blander side. We also had naan with
chicken makhani (aka butter chicken), which was creamy and sweet. The star of our meal was the Chettinad chicken ~ packed with flavor and perfect when paired with basmati rice. That said, the gravy portions across dishes were small, so we found ourselves ordering extra bread and rice—a clever strategy by the restaurant! 😉
To wrap things up, we indulged in a few desserts and drinks. The Mango lassi was refreshing, and the Mango kulfi with mango boba was a unique treat. I enjoyed the burst of Mango pearls—it was a fun twist. However, the Madras coffee was a bit disappointing, it was watery and lacked a strong coffee flavor.
Service was great, but the place was quite busy, so the dishes took time to arrive. Patience is key! One nice touch was the peppermint chocolate served with the bill. In the end, our meal for six people came to around $200 to $250.
Overall, while some dishes could use a little more spice, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Enjoyed the wonderful Onam sadya at this restaurant.
All the dishes were put together so well and were tasty, exactly like a sadya fare in Kerala.
Since sadya was being served, other items on the menu were not available. Hope to visit again soon to try their regular menu.

Excellent ambience and welcoming staff create a pleasant dining experience. It's among the top Indian restaurants in Sydney. Starters are particularly delicious, but the curries (both veg and non-veg) could be improved in taste. Don't miss out on trying their dosa; they offer a diverse range of varieties.

The restaurant is completely vegetarian, The food is not good and there are very few curries to select, even though they themselves called it a buffet. No drinks included, or any desserts. Only a few selections of curries. At first, once I go to the buffet area, I am confused as to how this can be a proper buffet and I am searching for some other area, maybe they kept the rest of the food there hhh, nothing, so bad and the food is also not very good. Service is average.
Then went to the film area, we can lay down and watch the movies, find nothing to complain, if you are with your partner, you can cuddle and have an intimate time.

The Feed Punchers visited a very unique punch destination, Govindas restaurant and cinema. For $28, there is an all you can eat, vegetarian buffet, incorporating fresh ingredients with a strong Indian influence.
At the start of the buffet line, there were options of white rice, brown rice, pots of soup and dahl. Next came salads, pasta and a variety of vegetable curries, which utilised predominantly; chickpeas, lentils, potato’s and tofu as the staple ingredient.
The stand out favourite for the Feed Punchers was the crispy deep fried cauliflower pakoras, which were golden and perfectly crispy. They were well paired with the tzatziki mint like sauce and the chilli chutney.
Overall, there was a great variety of fresh-vegetarian food in a buffet style. The perfect way to get a feed right before watching a movie. Thankyou Govindas!

Delicious and a great budget deal buffet with good variety, including some vegan options.
The interior and dining area has a softly lit atmosphere and there was calm music on when we were there. Much appreciated that kind of setting 😊
Overall, it's a great and economical way to spend your evening having dinner and a movie included. Also, we enjoued the unique concept of the cosy beds and reasonably small cinema rooms to watch a movie. Never felt so comfy going to the cinema 🙂
Definitely coming back for sure

Very casual with a good atmosphere.
A vegetarian heaven.
The food is homely and very tasty.
Buffet style.
Parking can be quite difficult.
It is not suitable for people with mobility issues as there are two (2) flights of stairs which are quite challenging.
Worth a visit.

Alright place - some dishes were nice, the sambhar in particular. But highly westernized - loses its Indian spirit, feels like fetishisation. The lassi was GOOD.

Just last night(July 11th) my sister and her fiance along with my partner and myself celebrated my sisters and my (Belated) birthdays with Christmas theme thusday dinner.
we had three pulled lamb tacos and a prawn ravioli which were all absolutely delicious. for mains there were three eye fillet steaks and a griled chicken breast with some perfectly delivered extra "pepper" from Jessie.
The performances were fantastic.
Jessie and Zoey were extremely friendly and provided an amazing night of enjoyment for all four of us. We wil definitely be back for more. Loved the experience.

Stumbled upon whilst walking along Macleay St and we thought will give it a go. It was not a busy lunch, only a few tables were taken. Taste and presentation were on point, we liked their bento a lot and the gyoza dipping sauce was delicious. Service was so-so!

Good quality traditional Japanese food in the local area. Sashimi is very fresh. The only disappointment was the karage chicken where the flavours were slightly muted. Staff very friendly and would recommend!
Eleanor Cheng - 2 years ago
Came here twice while staying in the cross and ordered the same thing both times because it was just that good. The chirashi and a sashimi set with an extra miso soup, all shared between 2. The most buttery delicate tuna sashimi I’ve ever had in my life. Amazing sashimi overall and beautiful presentation. Moody, lowlight atmosphere which translated to a very peaceful atmosphere during lunchtime, lots of people were there solo enjoying an exquisite lunch which is always a great sign. I absolutely loved it.

Stumbled onto to this and it was a gem find.
The staff were so nice finding us a table as we didn't have a booking.
The food was amazing and seemed to be prepared with care and love.
The sashimi was fresh, the grilled eggplant with two types of miso was so good and the duck was pretty amazing as well.

Pros:
Sashimi are fresh.
Customer service is good.
Cons:
1. Slightly over priced with the given grade of this restaurant.
2. Portion is small (5 dishes ordered for 2 ppl, not felt like anywhere near full)
3. Menu choices are limited.
4. Dishes are just ordinary, lack a bit of spark. just a bit plain in both tastes and presentation.

The Owl House’s new digs on Victoria Street manage to keep the same cosy ambience as the former Crown Street bar. Rather than a narrow terrace, it’s now a dugout bar, tucked between Monkey Magic and Darlinghurst’s best sourdough pit stop, Infinity Bakery.
Owner Amir Halpert has cleverly kept the gang together, transplanting both his chef and his bar manager Owen Davies, as well as the very bar he served behind, over to the new space. It’s nice to walk into a new space where everyone already knows your name, and have your post-work beverage of choice – the Corpse Reviver # 2 – lined up on the bar waiting.
After it strips away the remains of the day from my palate, I move onto Mezcalin ($19). With smoky mezcal and plum jam balanced by lime, a swirl of tobacco syrup and a rosemary salt rim, it’s the perfect slow sipper against a meandering Cheese Board ($29/3 cheeses) adventure. We opt for a tale of three cows, with a washed rind Pont L’eveque from Basse-Normandie, a Saint Agur blue cheese and a British semi-hard Larder & Co Oak Smoked Cheddar from Devon, against lavosh, muscatels and honeycomb.
A homely Charcuterie Board ($21) with house-made mortadella and rillettes rounded out with jamón Serrano, is served with toast, pickled onions and cornichons. The toast to charcuterie ratio is out, but it’s an easy fix with a Daily Baked Bread ($5) add-on, accompanied by Hilal’s za’atar and local olive oil.
On this visit I was a bit more interested in drinking a smooth, butter-infused Bulleit bourbon Buttered Fashion ($24) than exploring the newly extended wine list. We also left the wider menu alone sufficing with some Pambula Oysters ($4/each) served both au natural, and with the house dressing – a mignonette granita that worked out nicely too.
The big question will be how does my favourite bar perform at brunch? The lure of a breakfast cocktail means I’ll undoubtedly bring you some news on that front before the year is out...
Jackie McMillan - 6 years ago
The degustation menu is fantastic, with a delectable selection of food and wine pairings. We deeply enjoyed the gnocchi, brick pastry prawns, and ox-tail croquette. The cocktails are also delicious.
Cheong Yew Ng - 7 years ago
A funky, tiny, bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere and our service was outstanding.
The degustation menu is six small plates with matching cocktails (served as halves). You can have matching wine, but don't bother, the cocktails are the main gig and it's fun to think through how they match the dishes.
You can make your own judgement on the food, but I thought the mushrooms were spectacular, likewise the prawns with brick pastry and smoked enoki. The other dishes less so.
Richard Kerr - 7 years ago
Always a great night. Degustation menu is always very enjoyable. Drinks to match work extremely well. Owen and his staff are very friendly and it feels very intimate and special. Always look forward to dining there. Loving the new venue on Victoria Street. Cocktail or wine on the couch or at the bar.

“Me so hungry" set menu. 5 stars for the value we got out of the set menu. All the seafood we got was very fresh. 12 courses in total, we were very full afterwards. We got a complimentary yuzu sake, super enjoyed it!!
For $75pp, I reckon it's very hard to find another place with the same quality food.
I 100% recommend this place for a nice night out. They had the bidets too!! Really appreciate the effort they put into these details.

We had a very delightful experience dining here. Each of us got the “leave it to me” set menu. The genmaicha was lovely, presentation of food was solid, and the freshness and quality of each sushi dish is worth coming back for.

[update Sept 2024] Superb value for money - long list of 4 different set menus ranging from $40pp (fewer pieces of standard sushi cuts) to $$88pp (for omakase, more premium sushi cuts). Large variety of other entree and main dishes to order a la carte - very generous servings. Maki rolls range from $15-$20, entrees $

Last nights spontaneous dinner choice @yachiyojapanesebistro in Darlinghurst. Whilst it’s not immaculate presentation, the food was nice and it isn’t crazy expensive. We had their sashimi, Balmain bug sushi, miso grilled cod (this only $22) and slow cooked wagyu! Casual dining space and beer on tap.

Visited this eatery as a solo diner without a reservation. I got my seat at the counter. I asked for omakase, and I think they served me extra food that was not on the menu. Everything was good and I was pretty happy.

Wine tasted like it was open since last week.
The tagliatelle pasta was broken was not a great pasta eating experience.
Also the dish needs to change as there is no sauce. So much more opportunity for adding flavour via sauce.
The “stuffed” mushrooms were not stuffed so should probs change the name on the menu.
Aside from that chips were great, prawns were cooked well and deveined which was great. and salt and pepper squid was quite good.

Can't remember the last time I had such a bad dinner at a restaurant. The pasta was awful and dry - any home cook would be embarrassed to serve it. The chicken was not much better. The salads were drowned in balsamic to the point of being inedible. The only reason I'm rating it 2 stars rather than 1 star is that the service from the staff was friendly and good. At least we were using a discount voucher for the meal... I would be horrified to have to pay full price for such a sad dinner. Can't recommend !
