Time for Thai in Sydney CBD has always been my go-to spot! The food is delicious, and the convenience of having a musolla right above the restaurant makes it even better. It’s my must-visit whenever I’m in the city. Highly recommended!

A close walk from Central Station. The seating is very cramped and uncomfortable. The portion sizes are large. The food was alright but I am used to Thai food that is much more flavoursome. Staff were attentive when we asked for things, but it was weird that they did not provide the drink and dessert menu along with the main menu so make sure you ask. We weren’t a big fan of the coconut rice. It was too soggy for our liking. The Tom Kha with chicken was also too tangy. When ordering the Red Curry with tofu and vegetables, the staff didn’t even ask what level of spiciness I was after for the curry. That was disappointing.
P.S. 1.5% surcharge on card payments.

I was skeptical at first but amazed by the taste of the food. The funny thing is... I've been to Bangkok before but I wasn't satifisfied with the food I had back then, nothing compared to the good experience I had in Time for Thai Sydney. The portion was quite huge, great service. Located in Haymarket, definitely will revisit in the future. Oh, and I love that it's halal too!

We try to find a halal food in Haymarket, in how surprised we are when finding this Halal Thai food. I am not sure at first but after we order their noodles and chicken BBQ menu we are astonished by how generous this restaurant giving its customer. All the food is halal and delicious.

I recently had lunch at this ramen restaurant and opted for the deluxe set menu, which included ramen, side dishes, and a rice bowl
I chose the tonkotsu ramen, and while the broth had a nice richness to it, I found it a bit too salty for my taste. It could benefit from a better balance of flavors.
Rice Bowl: The teriyaki beef rice bowl was fantastic. The beef was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of sweetness from the teriyaki sauce.
Side Dish: The mini salad was a great addition—fresh, crisp, and a perfect light counterbalance to the richer flavors of the ramen and beef.
Overall, for $26, the meal was satisfying and provided great value, with the rice bowl and salad being the standout dishes. I’d recommend this place for the variety and price, but if you’re sensitive to salt, you might want to ask for a lighter ramen broth.

Very authentic Japanese restaurant in Chinatown, one of the best ramen/noodles soup I had in Australia. We had the Mapo tofu noodles 🌶️🌶️ and the beef udon 🍜
Friendly staff, big portion and almost all clients looked like regular which is a very good sign !! ($17-19 for a bowl)

Decent food & prices, and very, very nice staff! One of the top three most revisited Japanese restaurants in the city for me. It'd definitely receive a lot more attention if the location were a bit more obvious.

2024 update. We’ve been coming to Menya for over 10 years now. The ramen remains an absolute standard. The soup is thick, the noodles perfect, and the sides excellent. We’ve eaten ramen across Japan, and Menya stacks up well. The joint is getting a bit tired now and they could do with a refresh but this doesn’t detract from the quality!
The best noodles and ramen. Super price, great variety, always busy but you get a seat in minutes. Our favorite.

It’s a good little store that definitely prepares some of the best donuts around central.
Having had Krispy Kreme donuts from 7/11 and Coles before, I had no idea that these donuts (simply glazed) would taste this much better when made in store.
I also liked how there was a place for students to study and charge their devices near the windows. Highly recommended but also bring a set a very good noise cancelling headphones if you do plan to enjoy a bite while you study.

The best Krispy Kream branch I have ever visited!
The decoration is so stylish and creative. Every corner in this tiny shop is perfect for taking photos.
I believe this is the big branch so they baked the donuts at the back of the shop so everything is fresh. They got all selection from meals to drinks.
There are plenty of seats to sit and relax. I will come back for dine-in for sure.

The donut and coffee I had here was very nice and well made.
The guy who made the coffee did a fantasic job with the Cap he made for me.
Great place and good choice of music as well.

I got sweet buz(one coffee and two donuts)
The donuts were good but the coffee was nothing special even I think the instant coffee you can buy in the supermarket is better
Ps depends on the donuts you choose sweet buz is not really good value

I used The Great Southern again this year for my Year 6 excursion of 37 country kids into the city for a two night stay. Staff are always accommodating of our needs (dietary, seating a large group, mass food production in a timely manner, etc) and help out with the smooth production line of getting them in, feeding them, and getting them back out again. Thanks again Great Southern. We'll be back for sure!

Came here for dinner for the first time and it was a little disappointing. Had preordered ahead of time but still took them 20mins to confirm order - definitely understaffed. The dishes in this review plus one very plain fried rice (not even with meat) came to an eye watering $550 which is exorbitant for Chinese food. I think there’s probably better places that is far cheaper.
Nin Roberts - 10 months ago
Tasty food but a bit expensive. We went in randomly and we were given the vibe that maybe it wasn’t for us considering how authentic it was. Nevertheless the staff helped with our order and it was a really tasty meal. The menu has some hefty items (over $100 a hit) and I feel like it’s perhaps a fancy Chinese restaurant. Felt like a good experience but perhaps a little too much money for what we got.
Steve Brown - a year ago
Had a lovely experience here. The entrance looks normal but the interior is nicely decorated with Chinese elements. The restaurant is pretty empty on Sunday night. We had the coconut fowl soup, the Budda delight soup, two fish dishes, lamb, chicken, pumpkin rice. The soup were good but the portion was small for its price. The rice didn't look very appealing but I like it. The other dishes are so so.

The soup and steamed rice is hella yummy and wholesome 😋
Had the abalone chicken clam soup for dinner as I was craving for home cooked canto soup. This place really lived up to the expectations and the lap cheong pork rib rice was delicious.
The bean curd veggies was also on point and definitely a great place to go if you are craving for clean canto cuisine.

I don’t know how I came to love soup so much, I think I simply grew up drinking it. Soups to me is very important, I can drink any kind of soup every single day!
Double steamed soup at steam king are SO GOOD !!! They’re so traditional and are delicious !!! Hot soup “clear my heart” and steam king offers so many different kind of soups, we had the Buddha jump over the wall, coconut chicken and pork ribs soup, they’re all super yummy, as well as other dishes during the dinner! The papaya & bird nest for dessert absolutely blow our mind!!! 💖🙌🏽

Authentic Indonesian food tucked away in a quiet alley, so finding a seat is never an issue. Prices are reasonable, I got my bihun goreng for just 14.50 AUD. It's like a more relaxed, less-crowded version of the infamous 'Spice Alley' (If you are looking for a good fried rice/noodle), but with tranquility. I would like to visit again and try different food. Highly recommend!

Lestari is a hidden gem for lovers of Indonesian cuisine. Tucked away in a cozy corner, this restaurant offers an authentic taste of Indonesia right in the heart of the city. The menu features a delightful array of traditional dishes that will transport you straight to the vibrant streets of Jakarta or Bali. From the aromatic flavours to the spicy sambal, each dish is bursting with bold flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like you're dining in a local Indonesian eatery. Lestari is a true culinary delight for anyone seeking an unforgettable Indonesian dining experience.

Flavourful authentic Indonesian fried rice! They have the best nasi goreng in Sydney in my opinion but their opening hours are really inconsistent. I recommend calling them first before visiting to save your time.

Food is still top notch, but don’t depend on the Google listing for opening hours. It’s usually incorrect and sometimes Lestari closes whenever they want.

It is not often you attend a restaurant that has exceptional food, service, atmosphere and entertainment. This restaurant had it all, as we shared a new cultural experience. There was a group of boys having a birthday party, a couple sharing a romantic evening and the four of us celebrating a special new friendship … it was a joyous evening for all of us with our group leaving with our faces aching from the laughter. Our special thanks to sisters Jessica and Jovita who lovingly served us - they were sweethearts and so happy to do their jobs and they made a mean cocktail or 3! Our Chef was Alvin … WOW … he did so many tricks and his cheffing was magnificent as he prepared mouthwatering food to us all! Thank you for a memory that will last a lifetime xx

This is a surprisingly good place to eat. The food is awesome. Very tasty & made to your desired level of chillie hot. Very affordable. The ambiance is OK nothing outstanding but it is neat & clean. The restroom however needs urgent & tender loving attention. In the heart of Sydney's CBD, parking is difficult, however if you arrive by train to Central station it is an easy five minute walk from platform to restaurant. Friendly & helpful service. Highly recommend it.
