I ordered Ebi Tempura Udon because they didn't have a Donburi (Rice meals). The prawn in the udon was big and crispy and delicious.
The salmon nigiri was also very tasty. The sushi cola was interesting, I say it tastes like a cross between Cola and Sprite (It was written 'Japanese Green tea Cola'.
If you want to drink alcohol, it seems that they only have Asahi beer here.

We were having lunch here,it was my first time for sushi train, sushi and noodles are delicious, all

Came here while staying in Sydney. Prices are on the higher end, but the fish is fresh and delicious. The scallops were soft and amazing, with the Wagyu Nigiri being buttery and a perfect end to the dinner. The atmosphere is great with the belt going around the sushi bar. They also offer at seat online ordering in case you don't see what you want on the belt. Would highly recommend for anyone that has never had conveyer belt sushi before.

Sushi Train at Bondi Junction is a fun and friendly place to eat at any time of the day. The staff greet everyone as they walk in and again all yell out goodbyes as you leave. It’s really fun. The plates of food that role past are plentiful with lots of variety. You can even get yummy desserts and fruit bowls. The sushi chefs are constantly making dishes in the centre so you can see everything is freshly made.

One of the best sushi places in Sydney. It’s a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Kewpie mayonnaise and fresh ginger are complimentary which is a nice touch.

My new favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Warm & friendly Japanese staff, excellent & fresh food and authentically Japanese - which is rare to find in Sydney these days. I will be coming here again & again! Thank you Wa team 💓

Authentic Japanese restaurant. Tempura prawns are excellent. Salmon is mediocre, frozen, certainly not daily fresh.

Unassuming facade and unexpected decor shelters absolutely superb quality food. Was in town a week and went twice because THIS PLACE IS GREAT.
First time had the tasting menu, and we were all uniformly impressed with every dish.
Highly Recommended
Second time just selected dishes because we were not quite as hungry. Once again absolutely delicious.

Had the set course, even though it was close to close time and was the last table to leave, we were not rushed at any stage at all! Very good service

Japanese fast food but met all my cravings. Was quick and efficient and tasted good. Not too expensive but decent servings and very satisfying. Hits all the right spots. Got the salmon rice and udon with toppings- both good options if you’re craving easy affordable homey Japanese food.

This Japanese fast food was a nice surprise! Service is super fast but food quality very good! We had quite a few dishes and everything was very tasty!! Vegeterian gyoza served in a very hot mini pan were very good!
I’ll definitely come back !
If you’re after a quick and nice meal, Mappen is the right place for you! :)

Mappen is a longstanding selt-serve udon bar on Sydney. It's the only one that feels like the 300 yen udon shops in Japan. Why? It's all about the ordering process. Pick your choice of udon. Small/large. Hot/cold soup. They make it fresh to order and give it to you on a tray, which you then slide down the bar and customise as you feel. Soft-boiled egg? Tempura flakes? Spring onions? How about different types of tempura like prawn or calamarı as a side? This cheap teed somehow feels incredibly royal. Never gets old!

Their chicken in Terriyaki is cooked on grill and has char flavour, and the curry sauce is full of flavour. 5 star for this dish. Katsu chicken was nice as well but terriyaki chicken curry is perfect!

I ordered ramen deluxe. It’s weird enough to have pulled pork in ramen but it also has picked Chinese cabbage. The broth is a bit salty. However, the atmosphere is good and service is fast. It’s more like a fast food restaurant but with Japanese food. I told not to put bamboo and there was still bamboo in my ramen.

The customer service was good.
Tom yum and laksa both tasted like ultra processed sauces and powders. Extremely sweet and unhealthy, the tofu was so deep fried it didn’t taste like tofu at all. The noodles were gooey and weird. I feel bad after eating here.
The restaurant should focus more on real quality and not only cheap stuff.
The door was open during rain and wind, so it was very uncomfortable and the metallic table and chairs didn’t make it any better. Sorry!

Loved the pad thai and calamari. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a casual and cozy eatery, and it was perfect for a quick lunch. Great location and convenient. Portion sizes were good as well. They provided a bottle of cold water, which we greatly appreciated after a long walk.

This place? Four years running and it never fails to deliver a knockout punch to my taste buds! Simple lunch, decent portions, and prices that won’t make you cry—now that’s what I call a win! Consistent, delicious, and always on point. I’ve yet to try the barramundi, but trust me, it’s on my bloody list. If it’s as good as the rest, my tummy will be happy!

Really enjoyed my lunch there today! I paid $3 extra for a larger lunch special portion and asked for low oil in the stir fry + some extra 🌶️ and the Chef wok-tossed a perfect ‘Pad See Ew’ 😋

Spring Street Nook Cafe is a cosy, little establishment located at the corner of the Royal Arcade. It's more of a buy-and-go place since there are limited chairs and tables to sit at if you choose to dine-in. Regardless, it has a pleasant vibe with decent service. The cost is on the pricier side, however the food and drinks are delicious.
I purchased the "Green Goddess" juice for $8, which has a combination of (green) apple, baby spinach and mint and tasted very refreshing and nice. For food, I chose the "Bacon and egg roll" for $12 which tasted as it should and was super filling.
This cafe is a nice place but you should expect to spend around $20-$30 if you plan to have a meal with a drink. If you're only doing a coffee/drink and pastry, it'll definitely be under $20.

The Nook is one of our favorite places. Always greeted with a smile and above and beyond service, sometimes even a personalised message on the lid. I love the extra touches. Try the Avo toast!

We shared four dishes during dinner at GU Thai Studio Kitchen. They were all very tasty and quite varied. The portion sizes were great and the ingredients were fresh. Highlights were the stir fried beef with garlic and pepper sauce; the pineapple fried rice and the dry noodle bowl with beef.

A very warm and welcoming ambiance. There is a flower wall just at the front wall. Looks really nice, the tables are well cleaned and everything is in order. Staff is friendly and cooperative. The place is neat, tidy and hygiene
I ordered beef Pad Thai, the live cooking was fast as my order was delivered in 5 minutes, the pad thai was amazing noodles were perfectly boiled, the protein was in a good quantity as well as quality. I like the taste but personally i felt like the Pad Thai was a bit over-saucy. However it was very good
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

During lockdown we’ve been ordering from Gu Thai every week and never been let down in quality. Finally had the chance to dine in and to top off the incredible food the chefs prepare we had service above and beyond by the lovely lady at the front. Definitely our regular spot to visit from now on - Thank you!!

Lovely authentic Thai food, as if you were on the streets of Bangkok. Peachy is such a lovely and friendly host. The pad see ew and shrimp&prawn spring rolls were the highlight. Gu eggplant and pork belly was spicy but very tasty (must try). Portion sizes are very generous and there is limited seating, so come early!

Had a few drinks which were reasonably priced, and a good cocktail. The balcony was full, with many people smoking. Sat inside in an area which had small parts open to the outdoors (no view). Again lots smoking in this area which wasn't to my taste.

Unexpectedly good fish and chips, and the service from the bar guy was friendly, helpful and efficient. I’d go again when there’s a better atmosphere though, because it just smelt like stale cigarettes and mostly mature people were dining in their Sunday best today.

this place is the best! Allan was such a G the drinks slapped and the vibe was it ! highly recommend the Moscow mule. come here if you want a great night

Quite nice spot on the balcony to enjoy a sunny day, unfortunately drinks weren't great and their juices frankly bad. If you go there for drinks be sure to bring some cash as there is a $20 minimum on card. I'm not gonna hold the place accountable for the very loud and annoying crowd of drunk customers though it certainly didn't help this review.

Good weekday lunch spot with the $10 specials, where a schnitzel and burger are on the list. Usually a lot quieter on weekday afternoons so the service is pretty quick. Happy regular weekday customer who keeps coming back for them specials.

This place offers affordable food, a quirky atmosphere and good beers. I've only given them three stars because my burger was dry.
Kristine Davis - 3 years ago
If you're looking for a good chicken schnitzel - Goodtime Burgers within the Eastern hotel is hard to beat. They have a very solid standard schnitzel, with the option to "supercharge" it. Supercharging your schnitzel is basically turning it into a pizza-like topping on top; extra sauce, extra ingredients , extra flavour. A supercharged schnitzel will fill you up for sure!
Seating can be an issue at times. They have limited booths around the edge of the venue, and some round bar tables - so my suggestion would be to try come outside of peak timing.

Such a good deal on Wednesdays, just $5.00 for a tasty burger, and for extra $3.00 u also get chips... worth the visit.

We went there bc we wanted to have burgers for dinner. The burgers were okay but nothing special. Also the atmosphere is not really nice too have dinner. It is very noisy and not cozy at all. It is a sportsbar and nothing more. The best thing was the cookie as a dessert. But you should know that I brought it with me fortunately 😄

Lived in Sydney for four years and this is hands down the highest quality Japanese food you’ll find in the entire city. It doesn’t even come close
Owned by a beautiful couple, Mari and Kioyshi, Ototo serves up the most authentic, delicious and fresh Japanese food. At very fair prices so value for money with the quality of ingredients is incredible
Stand outs are the teriyaki salmon bowl and teriyaki chicken bowl.. ultimately, EVERYTHING is really really really good!!!

Nice little Japanese restaurant in Bondi. Food was very tasty and came out quite quickly even just after open. Strong homemade vibes which makes it much more authentic than other Japanese restaurants in the area.

A nice little restaurant tucked away on Oxford Street. Quality and Qantity of food was spot on and priced reasonably. We ordered 2 of the Lunch Special Bento's, one Salmon Sashimi and the second being Chicken Karage. Each Bento comes with rice, salad, miso soup, vegetable Tempura, vegetable spring rolls and edamane.
We loved both dishes the food was cooked to order and delicious to eat and best value for money. See the pictures and recommend you give it a try.

We recently tried the spicy chicken chili rice bowl and the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Personally, I found the spicy chicken to be the standout choice, which is showcased in the first photo attached. However, I must mention that the portion sizes were a bit disappointing considering the nearly $20 price tag per bowl. Flavorful, yet left us wanting more😋

Surprisingly good!! 👍🏻👍🏻 We had Teriyaki Noodles Salmon, Signature Spicy Chilli Chicken and Chicken Karage. Free Miso Soup for the Rice bowl. Plus we also had Agadeshi tofu.. Will come back for sure!! 😊
