You know when people said “Try Artichoke Basille’s, it’s weird AF but you have to try it to believe it”, they were exactly right.
First off, the size of their slice is enormous, both in area as well as depth of the filling.
And the filling (on their artichoke slice) is weird, but creamy, cheesy, herby, and artichokey all around.
I’m not sure if it’s even pizza, but what it is is damn delicious and an all around great deal.
I got my slice thoroughly reheated and had a great meal.

I had one artichoke pizza for lunch and a crab pizza to-go for dinner. The crab one was a bit too salty and did not have the flavor I was hoping for, but the artichoke spice was surprisingly good. Tasted like a large quiche with a greater ratio of cheese to egg.
If you come at the wrong time, then the pizza sit in the store for a while, but the workers offer to give each slice a reheating in the oven (extra crispy). They also helped cut the slice in half so I could share with a friend.
I would recommend visiting this location if you are around the area. The price is pretty reasonable to try a type of pizza many other stores don't dare to make.

Best pizza in nyc.
This place has the most decadent pizza I've had in the best way possible. I've eaten a lot of pizza in both NY and Italy, and when the Artichoke slice is fresh, it's incomparable.
The slices are very big, one will get you full.

Second time visiting Artichoke Basille's Pizza and must say their pizza is so unique and rich. One slice of the famous artichoke pizza was more than enough to fill the two of us. A few seats are available inside the restaurant.

Artichoke Pizza in Greenwich Village is a slice of heaven for pizza lovers! This small but mighty spot, developed by two brothers, serves up some of the most decadent pizza you’ll ever taste. The Artichoke Pizza on Broadway is especially famous for its super creamy, rich topping that feels just like artichoke dip, all atop a thick, hearty crust.
Since opening their first location in 2008, Artichoke Basille’s has expanded across the nation, gaining fame along the way. They’ve been featured on The Tonight Show, The Rachael Ray Show, and many other notable shows and publications. This place is the real deal.
We had a slice that was full of creamy goodness and double crusted – it was absolutely delicious and incredibly satisfying. If you find yourself in Greenwich Village, do yourself a favor and stop by Artichoke Pizza. It’s an experience your taste buds will thank you for!

Be prepared to sit close to one another. In some areas, once you sit down in your seat, it is difficult to get out because they pack you in. If you are tall or have long legs, it could be a little uncomfortable. The entertainment is always wonderful. The food is good. Drinks are okay.

We had bar tickets for the late show and arrived 30 minutes early, but we only got in at 11:00, and the music didn't start until 11:30. I didn’t like the wait, and I was lucky to get a seat. The cocktails were good, and the music was enjoyable, but I could only see the bartender. I recommend getting a table; otherwise, you’ll be squeezed in with a lot of people and have no space to move or breathe.

The food was good and the atmosphere was great. The prices for everything was high but that’s expected in NYC. If you’re going to a historic place like the blue note you should just enjoy the experience.
I have to give it a lower rating because after tipping our server she came back and demanded more money. She said 25% was a minimum. She was very aggressive and zeroed out the previous tip and put the machine in my face. I asked if 20% was ok and she said 25% so I left $45 as a tip. I told her this was the first time I had a server demand a specific tip. She asked me if I was American and said this is America. She could not have known that I was active duty military and served time in Afghanistan. I just complied with her demands. That comment was grossly out of line. It really put a bad end to the night. After spending $250 on food and $80 on stuff from the gift shop, would expect not to be harassed.

Oh such a dreamy experience!!
Ive wanted to come here for a long time and finally it happened!!
Im so glad to be able to go there, had a great seat too.
The door was supposed to open at 6 and we got there 5:40. There were some people in line. The door didn’t open til 6:20, and the line got quite long.
After it opened, people were put like sardines, as other people mention, tables were close to each other and you will be sharing a small table with other customers. (It did not bother me after the show started)
The performance started 30minutes late at 8:30, ended a little before 10. At this point I knew the people for the next show are also waiting long.
But the experience is worth the wait!
There is a tiny gift shop on the 2nd floor which can be very crowded.

Iconic jazz club in New York. I booked tickets fairly late, opting for bar seating on this occasion. I’d recommend getting there early - I booked for the 10:30pm gig, with doors allegedly at 10pm but they were open when I arrived about 20 minutes before this. There are only 10 or so seats on the bar so if you want one you need to get in quick. Otherwise it’s standing room only and very tightly packed! There’s a minimum spend of $25 on the bar and $35 on the tables. A ‘standard’ beer costs $10 and they have some craft beers in cans for $14.
The music, as you’d expect, is excellent. It’s not so easy to see from the bar - this is fine if you’re going fairly casually to enjoy the experience but book table seating if you want to properly see the band. The sound is still great at the back, with dedicated speakers. Each gig lasts ~45/50 minutes, with two gigs per evening (early and late). There is also a small but well stocked shop upstairs. Accessibility is excellent with a metro stop very nearby and regular trains to the rest of the city. The gig finished just before midnight but the area was still bustling.
Not a cheap club but iconic with excellent live music. That said, for a beer it’s no more expensive than anywhere else in the city! Great service, too.

Really enjoyed my dinner at Babbo. It’s one of the few places that serves Egg Raviolo. While the pasta was a bit al dente for my taste, I loved the creamy center and the butter sauce. The Pork Chop was excellent—juicy but with a nice char. And I liked the pickled onion that came with it. Service was friendly and attentive.

Upscale spot for Italian cuisine. Personal favorites were the braised beef ravioli, the red snapper crudo and the duck ragu special.

I was looking forward to trying Babbo. I would have thought of this as a classic. I would have been wrong. The decor was drab. The room felt dank. The music was good, but it had four or five songs by one artist at a time, first Elton John, then Queen, then maybe Springsteen, then it went out entirely.
The service was warm and efficient, but there were a lot of staff on the floor and I don't know who was in what role.
The food was just dated. The best dishes I tried were the octopus and a radicchio salad. The crab pasta listed serrano chilis but had no heat and the crab itself was bland and without flavor. The biggest disappointment was the pork chop with cherry tomatoes and cippollini. The pork was horribly overcooked (they didn't ask a temperature). It was covered in bell peppers and chopped onions, there was exactly one cippollini and half of a cherry pepper. We sent it back and it was removed from the bill.
The restaurant could only be described as tired. There's so many better options not far, try those.

We celebrated our anniversary here and I'm so glad we did! This restaurant is super romantic and is a perfect location to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed both the service, as well as the food and drinks! The have beautiful roses and candles set at every table - really helps with the romantic mood. Price-wise it was also not over the top expensive, and in my opinion quite worth the experience.
For reservation, make sure to book at least a month in advance and request to sit by the windows if possible. Do mention what special occasion you are celebrating!
Food wise - I especially liked the Beef Wellington - the beef on the inside was tender while the outside crust was flaky to create that contrast texture. The mushrooms in between was super flavorful and created a really nice in-between layer. I honestly thought it tasted better than the Beef Wellington I had in Gordon Ramsey's Atlantic City steakhouse.
My second favorite was the seared foie gras - super tender and given it was served warm, takes away the stickiness in the texture and adds aroma. The Seared Maine Scallops were also pretty good, although pretty typical, and the Lobster risotto was a tad too sticky.
For dessert - I loved loved the Raspberry Napoleon!! It was many layers to the right flaky texture, and fruity and sweet to perfection. The chocolate mousse was also very good, just nothing too out of the world for chocolate lovers.
Drink wise - We ordered a cabernet sauvignon to to add to the celebration atmosphere, and it also went well with the food.
Overall I triple recommend this place for celebrating anniversaries and birthdays, will try to bring my parents here for a future night!

We went here for my husband’s birthday, expecting a romantic and high-end experience. Instead, the service felt entirely unremarkable—almost as if attention to detail wasn’t part of their business model at all.
First, the seating. They placed us at a cramped two-top across from each other, even though there were round tables for two where we could’ve sat side by side—something we would have much preferred. There was nowhere to put my designer bag except the floor, which immediately set the tone for the night.
Then came the food. I made it clear that I’m pescatarian, yet they brought out a chef’s compliment: a quail egg with pancetta. When I asked if they could serve it without, the runner went back to the kitchen—only to return and say they couldn’t. How does that make sense? Just don’t put the pancetta on top. Am I crazy for thinking that’s an easy fix? To make it even more absurd, they only left the dish for my husband and took mine away. Since when do restaurants take food back like that? It was half a quail egg. My husband would’ve eaten it—why waste it?
To be fair, the food itself was outstanding. The branzino was the best I’ve ever had. But for a birthday treat? They gave us two tiny cookies and two pieces of marmalade. Not exactly a grand gesture.
I get the concept. It’s upscale, it’s intimate, it attracts a certain clientele. But let’s be real—$450 for dinner, and nothing about the experience felt special (besides the food). If I’m paying that much, I expect more than just good flavors. There are plenty of places with fresh, delicious food for a fraction of the price and with actual attention to detail. This place wasn’t exclusive or exceptional—it just felt like they knew they could get away with the bare minimum and still charge a premium.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea has a classy menu, a great history, and beautiful decor that makes it very romantic. I took my girlfriend there for our 3 year anniversary. The restaurant was gorgeous and the decor was perfect for those special photos. The dim lighting created a perfeambiance. The food was incredible. The food wine room upstairs is extraordinary. The only minor issue I encountered was with how small the menu was, at best you will feel satisfied after eating meal. I didn’t care because the food I ate was delightful.”
The dessert was special. This is definitely a place you will want to experience.

The best taco shop in the entire West Village, maybe even best in southern Manhattan. Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere and service.
Hands down the best steak tacos I have had in any borough. Every time I have eaten here it has been an absolute delight. They even have a $20 happy hour special: Three tacos and a drink and it's well worth the price!
Angel works Monday through Thursday and makes the best Mango Margarita (frozen and straight) I have ever tasted. A hidden gem of the West Village that deserves way more credit than it's given.

Brunch is the way to go here. The menu is exactly the same as dinner, and you get to pick and choose all the food you would ever want to try for $20 for 90 minutes. For an additional $16, you can have unlimited drinks. We came on St Patrick’s Day where they colored their margaritas green. Service was impeccable and prompt, and all the food was delicious. We had all of the tacos, tamales, and quesadillas. Don’t forget dessert. The churros are a must!

Wow. What an incredible meal. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is some of the best true Italian food we’ve had outside of Italy. The fact that they also are super accommodating for gluten free is an added bonus - I can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner!
Do not skip the Tuna Crudo, Polpettine or Torta di Ricotta!

I made a reservation for dinner on the weekend and was excited by the beautiful decor and friendly service even before we started eating. I ordered a glass of white wine and the truffle pasta. The pasta was cooked to my liking, and the generous amount of truffle was immediately noticeable, making it a delicious dish.
My friend opted for the daily pasta, which had a lemony olive oil flavor, and it was also really tasty. We wanted dessert, but after finishing our hearty pasta dishes, we were too full to indulge. 😂
I definitely want to come back for a special occasion next time!

As an Italian, I have mixed feelings about this review because the staff was Italian and very nice - I found them incredibly professional and available. It was my friend’s birthday and they accommodated her in everything and also offered us a limoncello.
But, at the same time, I found the good quite off in terms of taste and didn’t enjoy my dinner at all.
The atmosphere is super nice, although the place a bit limited in size. Recommended for an intimate date.

This is a perfectly serviceable bar to pop into for a couple beers. Their tap selection is vast. Surroundings are fairly basic. The crowd tends to veer towards the younger side.
Service from the bar was quick. Lots of space for either sitting or standing. Basically nothing wrong, just a fairly typical pub.

Solid beer bar. Decently sized tap list and had patrons in there during the afternoon. Didn’t try the food but the menu looked good. Even had a spot to charge my phone. Would pop in again if I was in the neighborhood.

They have a big selection of beers to pick from and I’m glad we stopped by for drinks. The decorations are more on the simpler side, but there’s several tables and chairs. For people who don’t like bitter beers, I’d recommend their half moon mosaic dream ipa or espresso martinis. We will definitely come back to try more drinks and have more of their espresso martinis. They also have a two drink minimum for credit cards. You can keep an open tab for the night and pay before you leave.

The service was great! We arrived and waited in line about 20 min, yet did not seem that long at all as they were consistently coming to check on us and calling more groups in. It was just a little rough waiting outside in the cold.
John's of Bleecker is definitely a hit for a reason. The pizza was so good! The apps were also great.
They were just as quick inside as they were getting us in. Wonderful guests service. We knew they were trying to get people in and out but never once felt rushed. I would recommend visiting if you are in New York.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about John’s of Bleecker?
Great pizza, fast and friendly service and classic pizza parlor atmosphere- what more can you ask for?
I had the classic cheese and the pepperoni & sausage. Both fantastic with that perfectly crisp, light and slightly chewy crust, bold and flavorful sauce and judiciously topped with high quality cheese and meats. You can taste the care and quality in this pizza and that’s why so many people line up for it.
Speaking of lines, when you see a line of people waiting outside, don’t be discouraged: it moves quickly and can be quite an interesting experience itself!

We were excited to finally try John’s of Bleecker Street after always seeing long lines, but if you’re looking for a solid NYC slice, this isn’t it. We started with a pitcher of wine, calamari, and garlic bread. The wine was the best part of the meal, the rest was underwhelming.
The $8 garlic bread was a joke in terms of portion size (check photo), barely larger than a dinner roll, and it wasn’t good. It was essentially a tiny piece of bread with an overwhelming amount of garlic thrown on top. The calamari was fresh, but the breading had no seasoning, and the marinara sauce that came with it was bland and watery, which should have been a warning sign for what was to come.
The pizza itself was the biggest letdown. While the crust had a nice crisp on the edges, it was unevenly cooked: half crispy, half floppy. The sauce lacked the depth you expect from a good tomato base, and there was barely any seasoning to bring out the natural sweetness of the tomatoes. It was the kind of pizza that desperately needed extra garlic, red pepper, or even salt to bring it to life, but our table was missing those basics, and we had to flag down servers again to get them.
Service was chaotic and slow, though the staff seemed to be doing their best given how packed and loud the restaurant was. The atmosphere felt geared toward a younger, college age crowd.
Overall, we left wondering what the fuss is about. The experience felt like all hype, no flavor. Probably won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend, especially when there are far better pizza spots within walking distance.

My family and I were really excited to try and yes, it was a good pizza restaurant with a standard menu.
Staff were nice and they have their line-up rules clear: ❕you sit when everyone arrives.
Pizza was thin crust, crispy and not greasy! The classic flavor was good, not too strong or oily, but olives we added were pretty salty.
Rice balls were crunchy with melting mozzarella cheese in the middle.
💚🍝Spinach ricotta raviolis were thick-filling. I’m not a ravioli person but I think their raviolis were good and worth the price. The sauce was average.
Meat balls were slightly dry. The texture was on the solid side.

By far the best pizza we have ever had. Grew up in upstate NY so the pizza was always good, tried pizza all over the country and multiple times around Italy (which was the best) before finally making it to John’s. Absolutely blown away, the sauce is the best tasting sauce I’ve ever had. Surprisingly we got right in at a table even with a decent size line. If you’re in NYC it is definitely worth the hype and the wait. Highly recommended.

The food was good but nothing impressive/special. We did the wine pairing which was a huge mistake, it didn't go with the food at all. Honestly we should have known the wine pairing wouldn't be good since the chef changes the menu each day based on what's fresh (hence it'd be difficult to get the most optimal pairing). The servers also didn't know anything about the wine.
Overall, the food is fine but not good enough/unique enough to justify the price.

Truly exceptional, but didn’t we know that already? They customized vegetarian meals for me and dad while my partner ate the freshest fish and meats to his hearts desire. They truly know how to make ingredients sing. We also had the wine pairing and I don’t know when I’ll have wine like that again- nothing hits the same anymore. Can’t wait to make a trip update to the farm one day

Overall, the entire experience was more on the disappointing side. This is not our first time dining at a "locally sourced ingredients" establishment or a Michelin-starred place. We also tried not to leave any food uneaten, knowing that the products were locally sourced, but this does not reflect our thoughts on the dishes.
The meal started on a fun note with different types of cucumbers paired with a green dip that was quite delicious. However, from that point onward, the main course was disappointing, despite the theme of the lunch being French brasserie.
The salad and ratatouille were nice, but the mussel dish tasted bitter due to the sauce, and the steak and potato plate was quite dry and rubbery. I've had similar dishes many times before, so it wasn't an issue of trying them for the first time.
As for the dessert, it was a large donut with apricot filling. It was served without any utensil to cut it, which might have been fine. However, the donut itself seemed to have been sitting out for a while—the bread tasted oily, and the filling inside was unfortunately quite sour. Even my partner, who usually enjoys all types of desserts, did not enjoy this one.
Lastly, regarding the service, everyone was friendly, but given that it was a menu-less place, we would have appreciated some explanation about the dishes without having to ask about each one.
We are not sure if we'd like to return to this place, although we might give it another chance since the menu changes seasonally. However, it's a big maybe for now.

Reading the reviews, I was not entirely convinced--after going myself, though, I can say that the four courses were more than filling, each dish was flavorful and artistically curated, and the dining experience was indeed intimate and sweet the way dinner with family should be :) The service was warm and the atmosphere was perfectly designed. I found my new favorite restaurant. (not all dishes are pictured)

I had a slice of cheese pizza and it was good. The crust has a doughier taste than other places that I've tried in Manhattan. I can see how that might be off-putting for some people, but I liked the different flavor for a change of pace. The sauce to cheese ratio is great. It's not my most favorite, but I'd certainly eat it again. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area. Just don't go to the one by Times Square. It's not worth the wait. Go to one of the other locations. Even then, expect crowds and plan to eat standing outside.

We were staying at the hotel just 2 minutes away and we didn't even know this was the pizza joint from the original spider man movie until we got closer in the queue to order. Really cool though! But regardless, it is simply and so absolutely bizarre the diehard fanatics of this one particular joe's pizza out of the many other similar pizza shops there are in NYC. We only queued up because of the sheer size of the queue and to be honest, it probably wasn't worth the wait. It felt more like an event to queue up and order a pizza from the famous spider-man pizza shop than anything. The staff were super friendly and chatty, and the pizza was pretty good, but it was certainly not worth the 30 minute line up. To everyone who spent half an hour here just for a slice of pizza too, you're insane!

My friends and I went to Joe's Pizza and tried five different signature slices—each one was delicious! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh. We had a great time, but the place was pretty crowded. Still, it’s definitely worth it for some of the best pizza in town!

This is a classic NYC dive pizza shop. Only a few seats. Standing tables outside. But the pizza is delicious. Thin and chewy crust, yummy sauce and cheese that is just slightly salty to give the best flavor. CASH ONLY. But no worries as they have an ATM in the entrance.

Another five star New York pizza joint. The place is small, but service was fast and we did find a small table to stand out outside, but don’t expect to place to sit. It’s cash link, but if you forget, there’s an ATM right outside.
The pizza was outstanding and they sell it by the slice. The prices are better than a lot of places with much poorer quality pizza. I say that and all they had when I was in there was pepperoni and cheese so if you want something other than that, you’re probably gonna have to order the whole pie. Had to walk a good way for my hotel to get here, but it was worth the walk.
