Ferrari’s is an Italian bakery and cafe in Little Italy’s Grand Street that opened in 1892. After our dismal meal at the noodle restaurant, I told Jennifer that we needed to sweeten our minds. The variety of cakes and pastries is tempting. We got a table. Jennifer ordered hazelnut (nocciola) gelato. I opted for a cappuccino and a sfogliatelle pastry. The pastry had a crispy and flaky crust and was tasty. Carmelo was our server and he was efficient. I always buy rainbow cookies that are one of their best sellers. I bought two which will last me at least a week as it’s difficult to ration once opened.

First time in NY and recommendations lead me to this bakery… I was amazed with all the pastries and different gelato flavors they had… the coffee was delicious and the pastries we tried were well made… this is by far the best bakery I ever been too it’s one of those places you have to go again and again to be able to savor all the great pastries they offer.

I walked past this spot a couple of times while in Little Italy, and it was always busy with a line. However, when I went during the day, it was much quieter, and I walked right in, which was a treat as I got to take my time admiring all the baked goods. Everything looks delicious, and true to New York style, the portions are massive.
I tried their cheesecake, which I really enjoyed, though I was slightly disappointed overall. I also had my eye on a few other items but was a bit let down that their cannoli weren’t traditional and used cow’s milk instead of sheep or goat milk.
That said, everything else was great, and I’d definitely recommend grabbing something if you’re in the area. There’s something for everyone—except maybe vegans!

It felt like a nice hidden cellar space with a bar. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of space and seating. They had an extended happy hour and a decent selection of cocktails. Great place to hang meet up with a medium group of friends.

A rare college club, popped in here a few times and was let in no problem but sometimes turned off by the atmosphere. If you want to listen to mo bamba go here. They once had a dude rolled up in a carpet here which was legendary, otherwise an unremarkable venue.

This place kicks ass! Treated like I was a regular. The owner and staff were fantastic. Drinks were like I would pour. The dj was amazing. The perfect combination of local dive bar/club. Only regret is that I don't live in NYC.

A super fun bar that has a clubby basement vibe. Beware coming during the summer, because it gets HOT! The drinks are always so strong and affordable, and depending on the DJ the music can be either mid, or the best in town.

Food was great value for the price!!! Fried squid was a bit too oily so won’t order it next time. Supposed to be salt pepper fried squid but could not taste the pepper. Salted fish fried rice was oily too and no taste of the salted fish.
Other dishes were yummy and portions were large enough! Service was attentive and waiters had a good attitude for a Sunday evening! Atmosphere was peaceful but it would be better with some background music!
Overall it is good, I would stay away from the fried dishes as they are too oily.

Food was ok. Five spice duck does not taste like five spice duck I’m used to. Rest of the dishes were ok, nothing special. Service was absolutely horrible. First off, our server, Ms Tang was rushing us when we were looking over the menu. Secondly, we’re a party of 5 and 2 of the members in our group do NOT speak Chinese but she was speaking to them in Chinese the whole time. Overall dismissive, no eye contacts and just not friendly. We only interacted 2 times the whole time we were at the restaurant. Once when she was taking our order, and 2nd time was when we pay our bill. The food was served by other servers. ABSOLUTELY ZERO service from her. She complained to us because we didn’t tip her enough. She made sure to let us know that it was VERY inconvenient for her to make the adjustment on the bill when we pay in cash. The discount we received was $10 off of bill that’s over $200. We gave her 18% in CASH which was the suggested tip amount on the bill BEFORE the discount despite her horrible service. If it was that inconvenient for her to adjust our bill, she should have refused and we would have gladly paid with credit card. DEMANDING for tips is absolutely unacceptable. Should not be in the service industry if you can’t even make eye contacts and put on a smile.

Loved eating and singing at once. Cool place and a great variety of food options (walnut shrimp out of this world). The Karaoke machine was not the best as it would delete all the songs but we made the best out of it. Would recommend 👌🏼

The spring rolls are also really crispy making it a good appetizer to start with before the pho. I got the #3 on the menu and the portions were pretty good for what it was worth. The broth here was also a plus that just made the whole experience better. Additionally the service here was very nice and polite. (forgot to take photos of the pho 🥲)

This was my first time here or eating pho in general. The service was quick. My friend recommended pho with roundeye cut of beef. She said it's the perfect way to introduce a new person to pho.
She was not wrong.
The food was delicious. The plate of veggies was a giant heap of fresh herbs, jalapeños, sprouts and lemon.
Springrolls appetizer was crispy and not greasy.

I went to Dirt Candy on a Friday night with my wife.. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was interesting presentation, novel flavors and textures. The service was excellent and I would absolutely go back. It's fun, creative - not a "daily meal".
My wife didn't like it as much and it's hard to pinpoint why but it's worth noting dining can be a polarizing experience. If someone's looking for a high end dining meets vegetable focused cuisine then Dirt Candy is a great place. On a separate note the no tipping policy is a very welcome addition to the NYC dining scene.

One of the most unique dining experiences in New York. A complete vegetarian set menu with thoughtful wine pairing if you choose. Vegan menu available as well. Each course was exceptional and creative. Menu is seasonal so the dishes I have pictured will change in the spring. I was incredibly impressed with every dish. Service is as professional and knowledgeable as I've had in any restaurant around the world. Don't be afraid to go if you're not a vegetarian. You will not miss the meat. In fact if vegetarian food was always this good there would be no more need for meat

As a lover of fine dining but who eats vegetarian at restaurants I was eager to try this Michelin star “naturally vegetarian” restaurant.
First off it was delicious. I left feeling satisfied but not stuffed and felt that it was a great value for the price and the quality was there in every dish.
The first dish was my least favorite, the croissant was flavorful but served room temp and didn’t love that, and the mushroom broth wasn’t hitting it for me.
Other than that I would order and eat every item again.
The desert was tasty but not something I would probably go out of my way to order.
With each dish I felt like I was a lucky judge getting to taste a chopped creation, as they transformed ingredients into things I’ve never seen or tried but were familiar ingredients.
The service was about two hours long, we sat at the counter and got to watch them in action in the kitchen. Reminded me of the bear but less angry!
Service was confusing at times with different staff dropping the food and offering varying levels of description of each dish and not having the menu at the table as the meal unfolded I wasn’t always sure what we were getting and couldn’t hear the explanations too well at times.
Some flat wear and glassware was served to us still wet which was not a good sign for a Michelin star level spot and a napkin I received had a stain on it.
Otherwise it was a lovely evening for my husband’s birthday and we would go back for a different seasonal tasting menu in the future.

If you are vegetarian or vegan, then this place is not worth the hype.
Despite the beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service, unfortunately, some of us were left hungry with the tiny portions of the tasting menu, even with the extras. This is a creative restaurant with beautifully presented veggies with global flavors and a nice wine pairing of organic wines. I didn't care for a couple dishes, but enjoyed the creativity and though behind each element. (Also, I wish I asked if anything on the menu was spicy)
It is a splurge. Be sure to get your reservations early!

I loved how as soon as we walked in the host was so friendly. She noticed I liked taking pictures and offered the chefs counter which I gladly accepted. I had the carrot colada which was an interesting drink but very good! All the dishes we had were so versatile and creative. It wasn’t just about being vegetarian but celebrating them and making different and delicious meals from them. I had a wonderful time.

This is a typical hotel lounge and restaurant - not really anything to boast about. The decor was somewhat confused for a restaurant serving mostly Asian fare - it was a bit tiki lounge meets sports bar. My friend and i got there on the later side of the evening, and there was only one other table occupied. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The portions, although well made, were a bit small for the prices. We enjoyed our time there, and we were allowed to linger over our table until closing time. All in all, I would rate the place as a pretty run of the mill hotel restaurant, but with a very kind staff and decent food.

Subpar service. Waiter was not familiar with the menu, couldn't tell me when the fish is shipped in, and had to redo my order because they were out of items. Also took them 45 minutes to serve me edamame (I think he forgot). I was one of 2 tables being served in the restaurant. Tuna was good, yellowtail and salmon were "fishy" (apparently not stored/handled at proper temperature). I won't be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a phenomenal experience eating at Zest Sushi. We went in for happy hour and got seated right away. We ordered a variety of sushi rolls that all started at $6. The overall quality and flavor was very tasty and fresh! Highly recommend the White Tuna jalapeño appetizer and Fried Cheesecake!!!

I looooove this place. The happy hour is great! The sushi is so fresh and tasty, though my favorite bite had to be the tempura fried cheesecake with green tea ice cream. The space is a little tight with seating, toward the end of the meal my friend and I were bumping elbows with the diners next to us, but overall it was a great experience!

Ok place. Nothing special. The ceviche was very disappointing- it tasted like fruit salad with very little fish. The tacos were dry and boring . The fish tacos was probably the best. Waitress was very sweet but she was on her own which made us really feel bad for her running around .

Warm and cozy soba dishes! I got a nameko oroshi dip soba, which I really enjoyed and highly recommend. The broth is made with these sticky mushrooms, so it’s thick and has a unique flavour. It also comes with a little candle thing to keep the dipping broth piping hot. The noodles themselves also had good texture. My friends all got the mera mera soba, which was very yummy as well.
The space is not that large, so we went right at opening time to avoid a wait. Please note that this place is CASH ONLY!!

A woodsy little soba spot with simple & hearty food. The space is on the tiny side, so be prepared for a wait after you put your name down on the paper wait list. This is a cash only spot, though they've got an ATM in the back.
The Stamina Soba is so comforting, with thinly sliced pork on top of an umami broth and a slight hint of yuzu. The only note is that the soba noodles could benefit from a bit more chew. The broth flavor is simple but very satisfying, perfect for a cold winter evening.

I finally crossed Cocoron off my list as I’ve been craving for warm noodles. As a soba-ya, their soba really stood out, especially their dip soba as it is served in a hot stone pot.
I was blown away by how extensive their menu was, as they served a variety of soba, curry and appetizers. The vibes of the restaurant reminded us of some Japanese hole-in-the-wall ramen spots. Friendly service, cozy space, clean bathroom. Seats are limited but they have another location 3 minutes away.
****CASH ONLY. There is also an ATM at the back of the restaurant.
*Mera Mera Dip Soba $18.5 (L)
Their most popular soba. Served in a hot stone pot, they lit the pot with fire to keep your dipping sauce steaming hot.
The mera mera broth was similar to dan dan broth—it was a spicy sesame broth with minced chicken, bok choy and scallion. It was rich, thick and flavorful.
You enjoy the dip soba as if you’re having tsukemen. Every strand of soba fully absorbed the sauce when I dipped into it, while the soba remained bouncy. After I finished my noodles, they gave me some soup to add into the sauce.
*Warm Mera Mera Soba $19 (L)
Another signature mera mera soba but a soupy version. We found the soba soggier and overcooked as it was soaked in the broth. My friend also found the broth a little bit bland compared to the dipping sauce.
FYI small = 130g, large = 180g of soba. The price difference is $1.

Their garage is the best I've ever tried.
The noodle was also really good I needed to eat everything!
However, one of the staff told us to wait outside when we got there while there were plenty of seats inside. The other server came out and asked us why we were waiting outside. I think they need to communicate more effectively. But the food was good and I am going to visit again.
