Went to Ferrara late morning during the week when it was not too busy in the cafe.
Got a double espresso and a lobster tail, which ran me $6.25 and $12.50 respectively. I'm not sure if the cafe prices are higher than getting it to go, but $12.50 for a lobster tail is beyond overpriced even for a tourist location.
This lobster tail was perfection all around.. perfect flaky shell and the cream filling was about the best I've ever had. Made me feel a little better about that price. Friendly service from my server Carmelo.
Overall would recommend... just expect to open the wallet

There were tons of things to try here and take to-go. Even had a few dessert forward liqueurs for purchase.
Gave the chocolate covered cannoli a try. The shell was less crispy and crunchy than I was hoping for. This could be due to the thick chocolate coating it had to hold. Chocolate was great though. Filling could have had more chocolate chips in our opinion.
The lobster tails looked like something to try next time.

Cute place in Little Italy that we found via researching. It came highly recommended by locals for desserts. We stopped in and had coffee and dessert. The staff was super friendly and fun at the dine in section. Everything we had was amazing! Thanks to everyone who recommended it!

We liked the desserts we ordered, we just wished that the wait to be seated and served wasn’t 1hr+ and 40mins+, respectively. Unfortunately for us, we ordered a fruit plate and were served barely washed rotten fruits. Sometimes the service and quality of food spoils the whole experience. As such, we wouldn’t be coming back or recommending this place 😕

I just had to try a New York cheesecake while visiting NYC, and it was fantastic - light and fluffy for a cheesecake. I highly recommend it.
However, the gelato I had there was the most expensive I've ever had, and it wasn't worth the price.
Lastly, the single aisle for takeaway was very narrow, making it hard for customers to browse and for others to pass through to pay.
There's a little sheltered outdoor bench to enjoy your delightful treats if you do not want a full sit-down service inside.

Went out on a Saturday night and had an amazing time. The bartenders were fast and so attentive even though the place was packed, not to mention the drink prices were so reasonable. Loved the music and definitely will be going back soon

A super fun bar that has a clubby basement vibe. Beware coming during the summer, because it gets HOT! The drinks are always so strong and affordable, and depending on the DJ the music can be either mid, or the best in town.

Love it here. I love to start my nights out in LES here. I remember coming here a couple of years ago for the first time for a goth event that was hosted here and fell in love.

Food was great value for the price!!! Fried squid was a bit too oily so won’t order it next time. Supposed to be salt pepper fried squid but could not taste the pepper. Salted fish fried rice was oily too and no taste of the salted fish.
Other dishes were yummy and portions were large enough! Service was attentive and waiters had a good attitude for a Sunday evening! Atmosphere was peaceful but it would be better with some background music!
Overall it is good, I would stay away from the fried dishes as they are too oily.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Congee Village in Chinatown, New York, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and immediately served a comforting pot of tea, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was bursting with flavors that were both rich and delicate, surprising me, especially since I’m not usually a big fan of Chinese cuisine. Congee Village truly changed my perspective. The variety and quality of the dishes we tried were remarkable – everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared.
One of the highlights of our meal was the value for money. We were a group of eight, and the portions were impressively large, yet the prices were unbelievably affordable. It’s rare to find such a great combination of quality and quantity at such reasonable prices in New York City.
I highly recommend Congee Village to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Chinese dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of Chinese food or just curious, this place is worth a visit. I’ll definitely be returning!

Referred here by a friend who loved congee. Right in Chinatown and when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. The menu was extensive but I only came for the congee. I was offered tea upon being greeted but I declined because I’m not having caffeine but thought that was a nice gesture. I got the pork and duck congee. YUM! The texture was creamy and the pieces of duck skin you get were so good. I ordered some fried dough that you can dip like you would with bread and soup. I added some of their chili oil and it gave it more flavor. I was definitely satisfied with this congee and glad I went!

Delicious ambrosial fantastic dishes. The fish is sooo fresh with the scallions. Clocking the server they don’t serve a good face (cuz it’s a chinese restaurant don’t expect white service) but they made sure you are fed enough food and not over ordering. They gave us a pot of daily soup and dessert for free!

The restaurant is not the cheapest option, but it offers a beautiful dining environment and delicious Cantonese cuisine. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Cantonese flavors. Many Chinese patrons consider it a favorite and return frequently. While it might be a bit pricey, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worth the visit. If you appreciate fine dining and enjoy exploring different culinary traditions, this restaurant should definitely be on your list.

Classic Vietnamese fair in the Chinatown area of downtown NYC. In my opinion, this is the place you want to go if you want a no frills experience, just solid good food.
This time I got Shrimp Summer Rolls & the Grilled Pork Rice Vermicelli salad. This is perfect for a hot summer day. All delicious!

Mango drink and mango smoothie was amazing

Good food! Flavorful dishes and fast service. Small Vietnamese joint with reasonable pricing. However feeling a bit bothered - the owner somehow insisted the store was closed and we should leave even though customers at neighboring tables were still eating.

20 years ago, this was one of the better, of the rare Vietnamese spots. This was when non-Asians thought Vietnamese food was Panda Express. Yeah, you did - Karen.
It’s rather pedestrian these days, but still solid. No longer a destination, but if in the hood- it’s a relatively cheap option. Prices have practically doubled since I first came here, but so has almost everything else in the city/ world.
Price to portion: standard
Destination: no
Repeat offender: only when I’m in the hood and the craving hits

One of the best dinners I’ve had in NYC. An exquisite and quite reasonably priced prix fixe menu. Loved the creativity of each dish - the real standout was the shaved cauliflower. While the restaurant decor is a little worn, it’s all about the food here.
Love that there is a seasonal menu, may have to come back again!

The food was really mediocre; I don’t understand the hype. Yes, it was colorful and showcased a nice play with vegetables, but it lacked quality. A few dishes were overpowering. I loved their carrot pizza though!

$105 with tip included is relatively cheap for a Michelin restaurant. The dishes were hit or miss. The tomato donut was surprisingly the best while the corn pasta my least favorite. Opposite of my expectations. Great service

DirtCandy is a vegan/vegetarian Michelin star restaurants in NYC. It is a non-tipping establishment. Overall my experience was average, not really worth the money spent. Total $272 for 2 people tasting menu + two teas.
Ambiance - is nice and simple, lighting is quite dim. There is an open kitchen in the middle, where you can see the chefs preparing dishes.
Staff & service - staff is very warm and friendly, explained the dishes and answered our questions patiently. Service was quite quick, they brought the next course as soon as we were done with current. We got two complimentary dishes as well during the five course meal :)
Now coming to the food
Complimentary welcome item - we got carrot mousse served in a savory crunchy cone. It had different textures and flavors.
Presentation- 9/10, taste - 9/10
First course item - lettuce dish. Nice burst of flavors and lots of textures from creamy to crunchy.
Presentation- 8, taste - 9
Second course - tomato dish. Nice pairing of donut, feta cheese and tomato jam
Presentation- 8, taste-9
2nd complimentary item - it was clear broth with sesame seeds and turnip flat noodles. It was quite tasteful as well.
Presentation-7, taste -8
Third course - corn dish. This dish was also good. Had few corn chips, corn soup, cilantro and little pasta bites.
Presentation-6, taste -8
Fourth course - Eggplant dish. Liked the coconut curry and outer crust of the dish, however I didn’t like the texture of the eggplant filling. It also lacked seasoning in the filling.
Presentation-7, taste -4
Fifth course- Caramelized onion ice cream
Definitely a novel concept. Onion ice cream is sandwiched between choco chip cookies and served with framboise (raspberry sauce). If you eat ice cream on it’s own, you can definitely taste onion flavor. It wasn’t really something that I would go again for. But with the cookie and raspberry sauce, onion flavor gets masked nicely and is not overpowering. But I am glad I tried this wild flavor of ice cream 😄
Presentation-7, taste - 7

This was my first experience at a vegetarian only restaurant. I was very excited to try it and looking forward to the tasting menu experience to be able to try many dishes.
Each course was smart, creative, tasty, and filling. I didn’t miss the meat at all! I had a seat at the counter so I enjoyed watching the talented chefs cook during my meal.
Check it out if you enjoy vegetarian dining. But don’t miss it even if you aren’t strictly vegetarian.

This is a typical hotel lounge and restaurant - not really anything to boast about. The decor was somewhat confused for a restaurant serving mostly Asian fare - it was a bit tiki lounge meets sports bar. My friend and i got there on the later side of the evening, and there was only one other table occupied. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The portions, although well made, were a bit small for the prices. We enjoyed our time there, and we were allowed to linger over our table until closing time. All in all, I would rate the place as a pretty run of the mill hotel restaurant, but with a very kind staff and decent food.

Subpar service. Waiter was not familiar with the menu, couldn't tell me when the fish is shipped in, and had to redo my order because they were out of items. Also took them 45 minutes to serve me edamame (I think he forgot). I was one of 2 tables being served in the restaurant. Tuna was good, yellowtail and salmon were "fishy" (apparently not stored/handled at proper temperature). I won't be back.

Zest Sushi is a cute casual spot located in the lower east side.
Possibly the best sushi happy hour deal I have seen in Manhattan, with a wide variety $6 rolls, appetizers, mini dons, fried rice, and drinks! You can find this deal every day between 4:30-7pm.
The sushi is decent for the price, and service is decent as well. Just note, they don’t take reservations and it is walk-in only, so if you want to take advantage of happy hour, you should get there at least around 6pm, with an anticipated 30 minute wait.
If you are super picky about your sushi, I wouldn’t recommend this place for you, but otherwise, Zest Sushi makes for an affordable dinner out!

Can almost never go wrong with tacos and Barrio Chino didn't disappoint. Arrived on a somewhat busy night without reservation. Outdoor seating was readily available. We had chicken, and steak tacos. You have a choice of ordering two or three tacos. You can only pick one type (chicken, or steak, etc). So we ordered two chicken and two steak tacos and switched one out. Servers were nice and attentive. The tacos came out fast and were delicious.

This is comfort food. I've been going here for many years, and this place has not changed, which is a good thing. We ordered Scallion Pancake w. Aromatic Beef, Soup Dumplings with Crab Meat and Pork, and Seafood Pan Fried Noodles. Everything was delicious. Their garage is the best I've ever tried.
The noodle was also really good I needed to eat everything!
However, one of the staff told us to wait outside when we got there while there were plenty of seats inside. The other server came out and asked us why we were waiting outside. I think they need to communicate more effectively. But the food was good and I am going to visit again.

This place had closed down during the pandemic, and I always wanted to try it. Passed by and noticed it was open again. First time coming, and unless you are close to the window seating area, the lighting is very dim throughout. The steamed chicken meatballs had a coating of rice on them, which had an interesting texture. The dragon soba noodles came with nibblets of eel, and the Mera Mera dip soba noodles came with a heat flame to keep the soup warm which was a nice contrast against the cold soba noodles.

The signature mera mera sesame ramen was pretty good, but the Japanese style curry subs and the mochi fried rolls were bland and unidimensional, pretty disappointing.

The place is a little congested and I don't know why it is cash only. The only good thing is dip soba noodles and many vegan options on the menu. I wish they kept the option of credit card as well.

1. The food is decent, I would only recommend the soba and nothing else. The Stamina Don is not a “Powerful Bowl Dish”or “Gut-Busting, it is bland and not spicy.
2. The portions and taste of the appetizer was not worth the money to try.
3. The service was excellent, they rearranged the seating for our large group in a small restaurant.
4. The atmosphere was nice and homey, on busy days it can become crowded.
