Food overall was quite mid. One thing to note was that the salad was decent. The prawn was plump and had a bouncy, tasty texture to it.
The New England clam chowder was quite salty and honestly, it tasted very similar to a canned clam chowder from the grocery store.
For the stores most popular item, the oyster pan roast, it tasted exactly the same as the clam chowder but less salty. It had 3 oysters in it and honestly, the meal felt too creamy when both the New England clam chowder and the pan roast are ordered. The pan roast didn’t taste like anything special and didn’t have a good wow factor to me.
Moving onto the service, our server didn’t seem very attentive. We got our water filled maybe 2 times throughout the whole meal and we were left with no water quite often.
Overall, it seemed like Grand Central Oyster Bar is a place with a great atmosphere, though it really fits the needs of a tourist which is a nice vibe and cool location. Wouldn’t fully recommend the food.

September 2024:Several years ago we had an incredible dinner here, but for some reason it did not quite live up to the memories. The New England clam chowder was good but not great. Last time I loved the Washington State oysters. They had three varieties of them here on this visit, they definitely had a distinct flavor from New England oysters but not quite the blow away flavor I remembered from last time. The service was fast and efficient, but the bench seats were so worn out that they were uncomfortable. The chairs were much better.

I used to work in Grand Central years ago and never dined here. Well, I finally tried the famous Grand Central Oyster Bar today and was impressed with the overall experience. I will say that lunch felt more like what you'd see at a higher-end diner, so don't visit here thinking you're going to a super fancy place. With that being said, the food and service were great, the place is historical, and I'd definitely return.

Located inside Grand Central
Station, the gateway to Manhattan, the legendary oyster bar 'Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant' boasts over 100 years of history. Although there is a branch in Japan, I finally made it to the original. From opening to closing, the place is always bustling with energy. As for the oysters, no words are needed. They were absolutely delicious!! We even tried raw clams for the first time, and they were incredible!
The interior, with its extensive use of tiles, exudes the charm of old-school America. To top it off, the spaghetti alle vongole was amazing too. I left with a full stomach and total satisfaction.
Shin-Ei Taku - a month ago
Decent seafood restaurant right in Grand Central station. There are two areas: the formal sit-down zone to the left and then the quick dining area to the right. We came for lunch in the quick dining area. The two different style of chowders were decent. The lobster roll was just okay and overpriced.

Classic New York layout and atmosphere here. Wonderful service. Serves plenty of business-goers for breakfast before they begin the day around the buildings and also those looking for a quick shot of coffee. We had breakfast here and in particular the eggs set - was well done overall though nothing too fantastic I would say. Very American style and a good decent one at a pretty reasonable price. Alfresco dining also available. It can get pretty noisy indoors as well due to the morning crowd. Located within Grand Central Terminal and very visible once you exist via 42nd Street. Heard their waffles are great too; will be back to try in the future and maybe for lunch!

The atmosphere of the establishment felt a bit off, with aspects that could really use some improvement in terms of service. Despite this, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which exceeded my expectations. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful, making the dining experience much more enjoyable than I initially anticipated.

It's fine. I was expecting more from the food given the atmosphere and the prices. But, it was pretty standard. The orange juice was good, however not $10 good (especially when I can go to any juice bar in the city and get a larger one for the same price or cheaper).
I got the eggs benedict and it was good, solid even but was pretty standard for what you'd expect. The eggs were slightly overdone so not as runny as I wanted but can understand that poaching perfectly at scale is a tough skill.
The service is amazing, everyone was very attentive and nice. The aesthetic is also great.

I’ve been dining at Pershing Square since it opened in the late ’90s, and it’s still one of my go-to spots, even now, when I no longer live in the NYC area. Conveniently located across from Grand Central Station, I find myself stopping in not just when I have a train to catch, but whenever I’m in the area. The menu may be limited, but I see that as a focus on quality over quantity. They always have a great wine selection, and the service is consistently attentive. Sure, I could go to ‘fancier’ places, but what keeps me coming back is the welcoming staff, the excellent food, and the attention to detail that Pershing Square is known for. I truly hope they’re around for as long as I am.

Excellent, kind and attentive server George, nice ambiance, spectacular location on E.42nd street directly across the covered street from the beautiful and Majestic Grand Central Station.
Food was well presented and delicious, speciality drinks were also good and well presented. Skirt steak was a little under cooked at first, but came back at the perfect temperature, and was delicious.
The place gives you a sense of going back to an earlier period of time in NYC, but with modern amenities.
I would highly recommend a city visitor to try this place out, and having worked in NYC for many years, I can honestly say it’s a good place with good value.

Celebrated a friends birthday here and this place was so amazing. The drinks were amazing! The steak was delicious! cooked absolutely perfectly. The sides were all delicious we all shared within the table. The atmosphere was really amazing. We had to wait a little bit to be seated and toward the end almost felt a little rushed which is why I give this place a 4/5 stars. Still would recommend.

Probably the best meal that I can ever remember eating. My wife and I arrived just before 5 P.M. on a Saturday which was perfect timing because the restaurant quickly filled after we sat. We got the best table in the house. It's on the second floor, in the center, overlooking the rest of the restaurant. Service was impeccable. We started with an espressotini and Manhattan. Later, we shared a crab cake for our appetizer. It was light, flaky, and delicious. Our main course was the 8 oz. filet mignon with truffle sauce. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time I was eating. We will come to eat at Morton's every time we visit NYC. Thanks for the experience!

1- Food = 4.5 /5. Very good. Prime Ocean Platter and Bacon were both well prepared and of good quality. Dry Aged Porterhouse which was on the special menu was definitely prime steak but lacked the dry aged flavor that I’m accustomed too. Steak was still very good and I’d order it again. All 3 sides were tasty and sharable. Martinis 🍸 were good. Almost forgot about the very good fresh bread and soft butter they serve while you wait for your food.😋😋.
2- Service = 5/5. Excellent cerebrating our anniversary we were greeted with happy anniversary as soon as we checked in. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, but not pushy and always smiling. 😊. Thanks Sara. They actually took an amazing Photo of myself and my wife in which they handed to us in a happy anniversary card which we both loved and appreciated.
3- Ambiance = 5/5. Excellent. Classy modern design.
4- Reservations = 5/5 Excellent. Booked with OpenTable the day of.
5- Value = 5/5. Food was excellent as expected given this is a high end Steakhouse, but the service and the staff were extra special. We would definitely recommend and will 100% return.

I felt the need to share the excellence of Morton’s Steakhouse. Matt, our server was invaluable— his professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were beyond expectation.
The food was a journey of on its own as my eyes almost popped out as I embraced the notes and layers of flavors that danced in synchronous notes like a performance at an orchestra!
I will definitely love to visit again! I had the scallops wrapped in bacon and the dry-aged steak for main course.

We stayed for a couple of nights and had such a great experience. The staff was very polite and attentive especially Juan in front desk went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed. Room was in excellent condition and facilities are great. Also, the location is very convenient because it offers easy access to many places in town. The atmosphere in the club gives you the sense that you are like at home. Highly recommended.

The Yale Club is amazing. Attended a wedding there recently. Stayed overnight: room very updated. Terrace reception area has great views and great for mingling. Ballroom for dinner was excellent. Nice size dance floor, really good bartenders, excellent and attentive waitstaff (thanks Eddie). Food was very good. Overall, an amazing experience. Front desk staff could not have been more accommodating: my wife had a dress zipper issue I could not fix. Three of them jumped in to fix the issue and make the evening memorable. Now that is first class service above and beyond. Thank you.

Really excellent. I ate at the bar and want to shout out G who was really great at introducing the food and making my party feel welcome. The atmosphere is excellent — staff and patrons are having a great time and the decor is authentic. I would come back with friends on a future visit to NYC if I wanted them to have a good time and a good steakhouse experience.

How does a restaurant of this caliber employ such an unprofessional waiter? Several items we requested never arrived. Does this place only pour the first glass of wine? We waited over 20 minutes with empty glasses, and in the end, we poured it ourselves. When the waiter saw us, he had the audacity to smile and ask us to wait for him to pour it next time. Are you kidding me?
Look, I get it maybe he was busy, and the space we were seated in was tight, making it harder for him to maneuver. I was willing to let that slide. However, what completely crossed the line was when he leaned on my clothes, which was hanging on my chair, while celebrating a birthday at the next table. I looked at him multiple times, but he avoided eye contact. And the fact that his greasy hands touched my clothes? That was infuriating.
This waiter looked like the youngest among the staff, and it seems like he needs to get his act together. Please, assign capable staff to all tables instead of reserving inexperienced ones for seats that feel like they’re meant only for people of color.
I still left an 18% tip, consoled only by the fact that the food was good. But frankly, the service was unacceptable.

We had a fantastic birthday dinner with delicious steak, wine, and an incredibly fresh and tasty salad. The mashed potatoes and creamy spinach were amazing too! The meal for two came to $450, including tax and tip, and the friendly staff made the experience even better.

I visited here during restaurant week.
Restaurant was so crowded and staff were so busy.
I picked one wine from the list and asked if this was red wine, and the waiter said yes. But what he brought was white wine. Of course, he exchanged it quickly, but I saw his face was crumpled. I ordered 3 steaks, 2 medium, 1 medium well, but 2 medium well done were served my table. But the food was good, so I get 4 stars.

Have dined at the old location a couple of times, which was down the street from Capital Grille's new location here at 200 Park Avenue. They did a beautiful job renovating what was an old pizza place into a stunning steakhouse setting. Today, we met some friends at the bar after work and had a fantastic time. The place was unsurprisingly packed. We'll definitely be returning for a full meal the next time!

Nice secret bar in Grand Central area. I just have few hours meeting up friend who works near by so it is not a lot of bar around because the area is mostly office. It took me walking 2-3 rounds to find this place but when I got in it was very crowded. No space to sit at that time so my friend and I just stand at the bar. Looks like lot of people don't want to go back home right after work so they just come to hang out here.
Drink is good, confirm by my friend who is martini lover :) So I recommended.

So the menu is more interesting than the food and surprisingly the sushi (crispy salmon roll) was the standout. Nice touch serving salted edamame w drinks. The wine list is ok, tho I'd steer clear of the craft cocktails..too sweet. Nice service, very loud until the after work crowd dissipated a bit.

I got the classic with scallion schmear and bacon on a sesame bagel. I’ll say everything inside the bagel is great! The eggs are thin and not overcooked, the bacon is thick and crispy and the schmear is perfect! But I came for the bagel and it was disappointing. It doesn’t taste fresh and doesn’t have that nice chewiness like a New York bagel should. I can get a better bagel from CTown or Key Foods (local grocery store).

Medium sized bagel specialty shop with an extensive menu. I must've spent five minutes just trying to decide what to order. Later I learned that their online menu has pictures, which would have helped a lot.
There was a ten minute queue to order but we were able to find seats quickly. The place was full of people tucking into their bagels or deep in conversation so it was a bit hard to hear when my name was called to pick up the food.
The bagels, of course, were delicious. I had plain cream cheese on pumpernickel. My companion felt that the toppings on the everything bagel overwhelmed the spread.
Recommended for any bagel fan near Grand Central Station which was just around the corner.

I'll say this to start - if you're looking for a place to get a bagel and sit-down to plan your day, take a meeting, or just not have to eat while walking - Zucker's has a larger-than-normal seating area for NYC inside. It's clean, decent for people watching, and you can sort of hit reset while refuelling.
Great bagel selection, and the schmear is tasty and consistent (I highly recommend the jalapeño honey cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel). I've heard people complain about the price of the 'schmear on the side', but if you're wanting to apply it yourself - the price isn't ridiculous as you're getting a great portion.
Nothing too negative to say, but it does feel more corporate than Mom and Pop - but I have to give credit for the size of the dining-in area.

Forgot to bring lunch to the office today so what’s a girl to do? Check out the local eateries of which there are so many competing interests for your green backs 💰
I’ve had their bagels for breakfast but never lunch. Well they didn’t disappoint. First time trying Zucker’s tuna melt on a freshly made garlic bagel, topped off with Swiss cheese and I added a slice of beefsteak tomato. They put the “D” in Deelish on this one! Hand rolled, premium bagels, always fresh, always satisfying. The wait is never too long and the service is with a smile. They’ve made some renovations post COVID and have a wheelchair accessible entrance and dining now which is just awesome!
Just shy of $13 bucks was over my lunch budget for some tuna but hey… a Girl’s gotta treat herself every now and then without feeling guilty about it. Like I could have bought 4 cans of tuna on sale for $13 bucks kinda guilt! How blessed are we? Cheers to the good life 🥂

Their breakfast buffet is top-notch, and the wait is quick! This place runs like a well-oiled machine, thanks to the super-efficient staff. You can be in and out in under five minutes—perfect for busy mornings!
Lunch can get a bit hectic with the crowds, but the staff’s impressive speed keeps your wait time to pay under five minutes. It’s a lively atmosphere, and you’ll be ready to tackle your day in no time!
One suggestion: it would be even better if they offered sriracha sauce to spice things up!
However, a minor criticism is the pricing; for instance, a small box of sushi costs $7.50 but has jumped to $9. A little adjustment there would make the experience even better!

Lovely place for breakfast in Madison Avenue! Their coffee is super delicious and always freshly brewed! I love the hazelnut coffee ☕️ as it always has amazing after taste. The place is great for families with children as there’re many options for different breakfast preferences!

This is one of those food hall kinds of places with lots of variety inside, built to deliver fast food for the people working in the area. They have pre-made, prepackaged, and also assembly food.
The prepackaged food has some options that are more perishable than others. For example, the mochi I got was already moldy when I opened it.
Pre-made hot food has a good selection, same as cold food. You can find steak, chicken, noodles, and lots of mixes. However, if you come at an off time, the food will have been sitting there and getting overcooked on the hot plate.
Assembly food includes stations at the back of the store has options like udon noodle soup, fried rice, and the like. You pick proteins and vegetables to go with a generic base. It's inoffensive, ultimately just fills you up, but is nothing super amazing.
Overall, this is a lunch staple spot for some people, but I would prefer to spend my lunch hour somewhere else.

While the food is indeed fresh, the prices are atrocious. Especially if you do order on app delivery services.
A plain turkey sandwhich, literally not even mayo or cheese. Close to $8. I understand rent needs to be made. But an extra couple ingredients goes a long way.

A party of six of us stopped in here for lunch during a business trip. The hostess did not seem very pleased when we arrived without a reservation but was still able to accommodate us. There were no guests in the restaurant when we arrived however it quickly filled up so I would definitely suggest a reservation. For appetizers we had the Pera Dip Trio, Grilled Spanish Octopus, and Portuguese Fried Calamari. All were excellent! For my main plate I had the Sirloin Shashlik Steak Frites which was marinated, seasoned, and very tender. I also enjoyed the Mediterranean Rose Sangria! The atmosphere is also very nice!

Very cool place right around the corner of Grand Central. Pretty big sized compared to the NY standards, so the noise is low and allows a normal conversation without yelling at the other people 😁
Interesting Mediterranean style food. During happy hour you can get a drink and a choice of two small appetizers for $24.

We had made reservations for a table of 6 and this review is specifically for NYC Restaurant Week (2021).
We got outside seating on a Friday evening for 6:30 pm on a relatively warm day. We arrived on time and were seated right away. The place was empty inside at that time and outdoor seating was slightly busy with 2 other tables occupied.
We ordered a few cocktails and some beer on tap and it took longer for us to get our drinks to us, including repeat orders for beers, which our waitress forgot to put it.
We ordered from the $39 per person NYC Restaurant Week menu, which included Assorted Dips Platter, Portuguese Calamari, Hand Rolled Grape Leaves, and a Maroul Salad. The Grape Leaves and Maroul Salad were absolutely delicious and were the best appetizers on the table.
For mains, we got Lamb Adana, Organic Beef Burger, and Black Pepper Ricotta Gnocchi. We all cleaned out our plates, and I can confirm that the Gnocchi was absolutely filing and delicious!
Our waitress was not attentive at all, but service other than that was absolutely top notch... so giving a 20% gratuity at end did suck a little bit! We might visit again for lunch or dinner!
