First time visiting here. I'm from the bronx but came to Brooklyn to see family. So I stopped in here with my aunt for some breakfast. The service was good and we were greeted by everyone in the restaurant. The food came out pretty quick. The pancakes were the best I've had at an establishment in a very long time, they were soft and very flavorful. I ordered. Pancakes, eggs, bacon and Grits. When I got my grits as they came out last they had hair in it. That kind of messed up the whole meal. They took it off the bill but you have to pay attention when you are cooking and presenting food in a restaurant.

Tom’s Restaurant offers the classic diner experience that many of us look for: quick, flavorful meals served in a warm and welcoming environment. The food is consistently tasty, whether you're grabbing breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A couple of standout items include their French toast, which is absolutely amazing, especially with the strawberry and pumpkin butters—they add a delightful twist that you won't find at most diners. Another must-try is their sweet potato fries, which pair perfectly with the chipotle sauce for an irresistible combination of sweet and spicy.
The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your coffee cup is always full and that your meal arrives promptly. The retro vibe adds a touch of nostalgia that makes each visit feel like a step back in time.
However, one thing that prevents me from giving a higher rating is the fact that they only accept cash. In an era where card payments and digital wallets are the norm, it can be inconvenient to have to remember to carry cash specifically for this place. It would be great if they could adapt to more modern payment methods. Despite this, if you're prepared with cash, Tom’s Restaurant is a solid choice for a quick and satisfying meal.

An authentic, old school diner with friendly service. The crab cakes came out a little too salty for my liking but the pancakes and fries were top 10/10. Will come back!

Weird the line is not as long as it used to be. It was about Saturday around 11am and the wait is 20 minutes for a table of four.
Food is delicious as usual. I had the Mexican omelette and definitely get the fries. They have the best fries in America to be honest. We got pancake, egg Benedict and something else. Coffee is like a good old diner coffee in the familiar cup.
Service can’t be better. The waiter is full of energy and love the smile. We got our order fast and correct. He gave us extra sauce and refill on coffee.
It’s very tight spot and I would just have one person wait inside until the table is ready.

Tom’s Restaurant was EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be!
A cozy old diner from 1936 still serving classic diner food that’s both delicious and totally reasonably priced. The burger and fries were absolutely classic and the fries held up over a long lunch without getting soggy

I came here with my girlfriend for brunch on a whim and we both thought that everything was perfect. The staff was warm and accommodating, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, but the food was still the most memorable aspect of our experience. I got the tilapia sandwich and she got the fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back for dinner soon.

This a fantastic establishment! I came with brunch/lunch with my mom. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and overall went above and beyond in their service. I had the pancakes with sausages and they were both sensational. My mother, who is pescatarian, had the portobello burger with fries and she enjoy every bite. I absolutely will be coming back in the future!

My boyfriend and I were looking for some local eats after taking photos in the botanical gardens.
Luckily we stumbled upon this spot, it was very cute and cozy.
We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and jerk chicken bowl, it was tasty and filling.
I would definitely recommend Cheryls if you are looking for a quick bite to eat while also supporting local small business.

The staff there are friendly and efficient. I've only been here during breakfast/brunch. Be sure to fill out the paper menu to order. If you like spicy ginger flavor, then I recommend their housemade gingerade. Food is hearty and tasty 😋

Nice atmosphere, quick service.
Ordered an oat cappuccino and found that it was mostly smooth. Appreciated the perfectly frothed milk (and the latte art).
Came here because it was walking distance to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (where, you cannot bring visible outside food or drink -- just a heads up).

How is this place not more popular?? Perhaps the best kept secret in Prospect Heights. Already ate about half of the salad before snapping this photo (I ordered mine without croutons) so portions clearly sizable. Delivery always super fast and service dining in is just the same. A favorite.

My husband and I have come here a few times for lunch after visiting the BK Botanical Gardens and sat outside to eat. We’ve ordered the burger, veggie sandwich, lentil soup and kale salad with chicken. Everything we’ve ordered here has been fresh and tasty, which keeps us coming back. The fries are especially good!
Great go-to place for lunch if you’re in the area.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, and I finally got the chance to today! There was a line out the door, but it went so fast!!! I was so impressed by the swift service. I tried their breakfast sandwich (added bacon). It was absolutely scrumptious!!!!!! I also had to try their pastries. I got the almond cake and chocolate cake. The chocolate was good, however, the almond cake is a MUST. I can’t wait to come back! I would love to try their lunch menu and/or their rotisserie chicken.

This was some of the best friend chicken I’ve had in a restaurant in a while! It taste just someone’s grandmother was back in that kitchen . The waffle was perfection! Very light and buttery you can truly just have this.
Great customer service. I didn’t have a reservation but the wait was not long. Very intimate inside but you still had space to enjoy your meal.
Can’t wait to come back again.

Highly recommended!!! I was looking for a restaurant that served food similar to what I'm accustomed to in south Louisiana. Shane's definitely fulfilled my desire. The food was BEYOND amazing! Everything! This place will not disappoint.

Your full party needs to be present before you can be seated but the wait was much shorter than expected. Enjoyed the food variety and beverages (get the Sorrell Mimosa).
Friendly staff, the tip is included. Enjoy.

I place put together some awesome pictures for you all. This was my first time here I went craving a southern comfort meal it was amazing I recommend the cheddar cheese grits shrimp and catfish with the cinnamon waffles it was absolutely amazing. Although I am sleepy now it is very filling. The music was diverse. However everyone was extremely kind and accommodating. Thank you. There's indoor and sometimes outside seating depends on what days you arrive. The food from my point of view is very expensive I took a leap of faith I'm satisfied. It's small yet cozy. There are waits for your food, getting seated at times too. Don't just take my word try it for yourself.

The banh mi was pretty solid—definitely the highlight of the meal. The pork was flavorful. The bread was fresh, with that perfect crispy crust and soft interior. I also loved the creamy mayo and tangy pickled vegetables, which added a nice balance to the sandwich.
Unfortunately, the pho was a major letdown. The broth tasted bland and watered down, more like the free soup you get with a lunch special than the rich, aromatic broth you’d expect from a good pho. It lacked the depth of flavor and the comforting warmth that make pho so special. The noodles and other ingredients couldn’t save it either.

Wait was pretty long, but the sandwich was solid. Medium spicy grilled pork. Would come back again if there wasn't a 30-minute wait.
Thanks for the food!

🤤 the samwhiches were rlly Gud especially the seafood one, a lil sweetness and so juicy!! The chicken was great too since it kinda reminded me of how my chickens come out (not too juicy but not dry but could be juicier). Great place to go if you wanna grab a friend, snag a lunch and head to prospect park to sit down and chomp! Absolutely scarfed it down. Hope you like my photography skills ✌️🤠

I got a grilled pork banh mi, and to be very fair, the pork tasted really good. But I have to give it 3 stars because it was kinda sad to see how little filling they put in the sandwich, I wish they had filled it up some more. Again, the taste is great, no complaints there. I probably would not come back to this place for banh mi again.
Joanna Hu - 2 months ago
I have eaten here twice and honestly the food is just OK. The pho had no flavor. The broth tasted of water. The green Papaya salad was all carrots. The banh mi was skimpy on the meat. Overall disappointing. This is a hole in the wall restaurant. The dining area is tiny and uncomfortable. The bubble tea was fine but all ice if you ask me.

A Mexican place run entirely by Asians.
Welcome to New York.
I had the chorizo burrito. The food inside was ok, the chorizo perhaps a little dry and the tomatoes were watery and flavorless.
What pissed me off was the lack of knowledge of how to wrap a burrito (see picture). I would love to watch a Millennial blogger from the Huffington Post lecture these people on cultural appropriation.
I paid $8.50 for the burrito and a 20oz coke. A decent price point for this area of BK given the proximity to the park, BK Museum, and income level of the local residents.
CASH ONLY - ATM Fee = $1.79

You get what you pay for. The food is very cheap compared to other places, but the quality is very poor. Everything just tasted old. The salsa and guac were watery. I ordered a chips and guac and they gave me 4 pieces of chips, which was pretty funny. Anyways, maybe go somewhere else if youre craving Mexican food lol

They serve all vegan food with healthy smoothies. We walked up from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, had lunch, and then headed to the Brooklyn Museum. The black bean burger and side of lasagna were tasty but salty. The dining room was spotless, as was the outside seating in the back.

I’ll have to give it a 3 star for food. We ordered the po’boy fish and there was no meat noted in the sandwich. Just crispy fried scarp pieces. I did let the owner know afterwards and no accommodation was offered. She just kept saying “you should’ve returned it so I could see it”.
Other than that, it had good flavor I just wish I had fish meat in the sandwich. The mango jerk wings were ok, the meat was a little tough.
The ambiance is nice. Our waiter Sky was great.
Pricey for what they offer.

Came to Eve’s for date night and we were not disappointed! The vibe was premium, the service was stellar and the food hit the spot in the best way!!! We happened to be here when they were doing some smooth karaoke and I’m not a singer but the songs definitely had me singing along! A great experience! We are also a hookah living pair and let me tell you - try the Yummy because it was YUMMY! Don’t hesitate to favorite this spot.

My wife and I stumbled upon Eve's Lounge by chance. We were heading to another restaurant which didn't have seating; however, Eve's Lounge was recommended and only a few minutes away. We gave the restaurant a try and it didn't disappoint. We ordered fish and waffles, wings, and a side of mac and cheese. My wife had a mimosa and I had an Adam's Rum Punch. The atmosphere was comfortable and the wait staff was very accomidating. We would definitely visit again.

Coming into the restaurant, the host was very welcoming. The atmosphere gives a cute vibe for those who love listening to music and getting together with friends. I had the frozen rum berry margarita, and it was fire. I also ordered the mac and cheese. Flavor-wise, it was decent until I found a small, thin, curly piece of hair in my food. I didn't notice it until I was almost done with my side. Overall, I would come back for the drinks and the music. Shoutout to the bartender. She made sure I was comfortable and had a chill vibe.

The Red Lobster roll, Volcano roll and Dancing Eel sushi rolls were great! Especially on a hot summer day the sushi was refreshing to have to cool off. Fish and sushi rice was fresh. Location was great , restaurant near Brooklyn art museum and Brooklyn Botanical garden. I am becoming a regular here.

Because it was only about a two minute ride away and also had good reviews, we stopped by Crown Garden for a late Sunday afternoon lunch after visiting the Brooklyn museum.
Although predominately a takeout/delivery restaurant, there are a few tables at which to eat and the dining area and bathroom were very clean and a step above the dining areas you often find at small Chinese restaurants.
We were greeted by two friendly women who when we remarked that the dish we wanted, cold sesame noodles, was not on the menu said no problem, we can make it for you! So we ordered the noodles and sesame chicken. Portions are generous and our food tasted fresh and flavorful. By the way, they use white meat for their chicken dishes and offer both dim sum and sushi as well as the standard Chinese takeout dishes.
Prices are very reasonable. Two thumbs up for Crown Garden!

Absolutely delicious new Chinese restaurant near Eastern Pkwy - Brooklyn Museum stop. A few of the best dishes to highlight:
Szechuan Roast Pork Stir Fry
-Sweet & smokey roast pork with a five spice and brown sugar blend is perfect for any meat lovers. Plus, the charred red peppers, onions and jalapeños are yummy!
House Special Peking Noodle
-Sweet dark soy sauce base with salted pork and ginger to be mixed with noodles. The balance of sweet and salty is perfect and the soy sauce egg was surprisingly delicious too.
Salmon Tuna Poke Bowl
-Big portion of fresh fish with mild Sriracha and kewpie mayonnaise. The kids really liked this one and finished the whole thing.
House Special Fried Rice
-Highly underrated! The roast pork again is amazing here, and the shrimp and fried eggs really support the fried rice.
The service here was quick and friendly. The ambiance is quiet and good for families and kids. They mostly do take-out and delivery and have some tables inside.
