3 Star Rating My second time in, after a disappointing first time I figured I'd give it another try. No wait this time, despite the holiday. Like last time, the staff were very friendly and the vibe was old school. Unfortunately, like last time, the food was inconsistent, with an eggs Benedict that somehow managed the double whammy of being both cold and overcooked solid. The cheesy grits were just bog standard grits with two slices of American cheese slapped on top. On the plus side, the coffee was decent and filled again one during the meal, the bacon was crisp and plentiful, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Stumped for the cinnamon roll on the recommendation of a friend, and it came with a couple of different compound butter which were good too.

4 Star Rating First time visiting here. I'm from the bronx but came to Brooklyn to see family. So I stopped in here with my aunt for some breakfast. The service was good and we were greeted by everyone in the restaurant. The food came out pretty quick. The pancakes were the best I've had at an establishment in a very long time, they were soft and very flavorful. I ordered. Pancakes, eggs, bacon and Grits. When I got my grits as they came out last they had hair in it. That kind of messed up the whole meal. They took it off the bill but you have to pay attention when you are cooking and presenting food in a restaurant.

3 Star Rating Tom’s Restaurant offers the classic diner experience that many of us look for: quick, flavorful meals served in a warm and welcoming environment. The food is consistently tasty, whether you're grabbing breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A couple of standout items include their French toast, which is absolutely amazing, especially with the strawberry and pumpkin butters—they add a delightful twist that you won't find at most diners. Another must-try is their sweet potato fries, which pair perfectly with the chipotle sauce for an irresistible combination of sweet and spicy. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your coffee cup is always full and that your meal arrives promptly. The retro vibe adds a touch of nostalgia that makes each visit feel like a step back in time. However, one thing that prevents me from giving a higher rating is the fact that they only accept cash. In an era where card payments and digital wallets are the norm, it can be inconvenient to have to remember to carry cash specifically for this place. It would be great if they could adapt to more modern payment methods. Despite this, if you're prepared with cash, Tom’s Restaurant is a solid choice for a quick and satisfying meal.

5 Star Rating Loved this place. I used to go about a once every month. Ricotta pancakes are amazing and comes with an assortment of specialty flavored butters. Refills of coffee served in large mugs, always hot. Quick service, friendly hard working staff. Would definitely recommend if you haven't been. Really authentic Brooklyn feel. In the summer, ask to sit outside. Only downside is they only accept cash.

4 Star Rating What a fantastic experience! Breakfast at Tom's was so amazing that we couldn't resist going back the next morning. It's a classic diner, straight out of an '80s TV show. Walking in feels like a time warp. The food perfectly complements that retro vibe – simple yet top-notch. You'll feel like you're indulging in the same pancakes and eggs as those iconic actors did decades ago. It's a joy-filled meal that sets the tone for a happy day ahead. A true gem in Manhattan!

5 Star Rating I came here with my girlfriend for brunch on a whim and we both thought that everything was perfect. The staff was warm and accommodating, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, but the food was still the most memorable aspect of our experience. I got the tilapia sandwich and she got the fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back for dinner soon.

4 Star Rating I love the vibe here. I’ve lived in the babe forever but just never made it here. It’s a cute neighborhood staple. By observation you can see how much the locals love to come and support and that they feel welcomed here. The servers are attentive and everything is clean. The menu is small but diverse. I had the fish and chips, my partner had wings and macaroni pie. The Mac was delicious. A little oily but that what cheese does. My partner said the wings were really good also. Ithought the fish and chips platter ok. The fries are delicious and the fish was crispy. I just am not a fan of tilapia. It’s a cheap fish that oftentimes takes on this muddy characteristic flavor wise. If they switched to another flakey white fish that isn’t basa then this would be a ten for me! I also wish the homemade hot sauce had a little more body to it. It’s so watery.

5 Star Rating The Lincoln Station is a wonderful neighborhood cafe located in Brooklyn, New York and one that has been open and proudly serving customers for over a decade. It offers guests a wide selection of freshly made cookies, cakes, delicious salads and sandwiches and beverages ranging from beer, coffee, soda, and wine. In February of 2019, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the Lincoln Station and we loved our dining experience!!! We were warmly welcomed and treated very well by the restaurant’s staff and we enjoyed our meals. Both my wife and I found our sandwich meals to be well cooked, seasoned and delightfully delicious!!! What guests will also love about the Lincoln Station is its location. The cafe is very close to many of Brooklyn’s prominent attractions, ranging from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. When visiting Brooklyn, my wife and I highly recommend that you visit and dine at the Lincoln Station!!! You’ll very much enjoy their service and menu options!!!

4 Star Rating I have gotten 4 sandwiches here: (1) Egg Sandwich - one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the neighborhood *when it is cooked as advertised (menu says sunny side up, but I find more often that the eggs are cooked hard and I am disappointed everytime); (2) Meatball - no notes, delicious as hell and bought this every week for a few months; (3) Rotisserie Chicken - nothing notable for me, kinda dry; (4) Avocado Egg Sandwich - nothing notable, I’d prefer different bread. Do NOT get the Chai Latte. Coffee is okay of what I remember, I prefer Most High on Washington though. Nice space to work though it gets fairly busy. I appreciate that they turn off the WiFi during lunch hours (12-2p).

4 Star Rating I love this place. The breakfast sandwich is legendary(get the hot sauce), the pastries are excellent and the rotisserie chicken is a fantastic deal. Only thing that needs work is the coffee. Cold brew, drip and espresso are fine. Every other coffee drink is the same. Cappuccino/latte/flat white = coffee with steamed milk with no differentiation. I thought it was a one off but it’s happened multiple times. Other than that service is great and attentive. I miss the old sign. Was this beautiful welded piece with Edison bulbs.

3 Star Rating Visited Shane's on son's suggestion on Monday 12/30. The hostess was fantastic and staff pleasant. However, $69 (with 15% tip) for breakfast is expensive. I ordered the big breakfast and coffee (with cheddar added to the eggs, which was almost undetectable in sight or taste. Food was served lukewarm and the waffle barely that. Not only that the waffle wasn't soft. I did not eat it. My biggest issue was the price vs portion size. I must note that the FANTASTIC hostess satisfactorily explained the selection and lack of a full sized waffle. She also offered to remake the 1/2 waffle, but I declined. Other items being served looked good, specifically the fried fish and grit options, which looked plentiful and are less expensive (circa $17). I do plan to give the place another chance as the staff was very nice. But I am wiser to the big breakfast choice.

3 Star Rating It's unfortunate that I've rated this Black Owned Brunch establishment this low, especially since we hadn't patronized this restaurant prior. The food was great. I'm sooooo disappointed with the service we received. Instead of bashing, I hope this reaches those it should and that it would be received as constructive criticism. We were warmly greeted when we entered. It wasn't crowded. The atmosphere felt nostalgic, clean, and compartmentalized (the entryway, hostess area, the bar, the 1st dining section, down a small staircase, and then another dining area, which had 2 sides. We were ushered to the very rear. Nearly 10 mins before the waiter greeted our table. Her 1st visit, we weren't ready to order beyond beverages, water came to the table thereafter. About the 20 min mark, another staff (unsure if it was a waitress) who came to check on us citing our server was busy. It was busy, and we witnessed the surrounding tables seated and some that had even finished dining while we waited. Our orders went in on her 2nd visit, then our drinks came but they weren't ours actually. My son sipped his apple juice so they let him keep it. We waited some more. An hour; that's the total wait time before our food reached us! All of the surrounding tables were served before ours. Two specifically just about walked in and was tended to within 15 mins, and their meals received 10-15 mins after that. Unacceptable. We checked in at the ½ hour mark and was told our orders got mixed up, and by then we received the correct drinks. How?? Mixed up with whom?? And for how long?? Had the right mind to get up and leave but gave them a chance. Wasn't rude or anything, just highly disappointed trying to make sense of the dilemma. As a courtesy, they offered 15% off the bill, then turned around and added 15% later down the bill. I questioned it. They reduced it again, slightly. Please see the difference pictured. Left her nearly 15% tip anyhow and politely gave a heads up about my pending review that I was asked to reconsider. No, thank you, though I'll give them another chance at a later date.

5 Star Rating I absolutely love coming to this restaurant anytime I’m in the area. It is a small restaurant but the food has BIG taste. The drinks are great and worth the money. I usually get the piña colada mimosa and something like a Henny Island punch (I can’t remember the actual name of the drink off the top of my head). I also enjoy their chicken and waffles with the cinnamon waffle, it’s to die for. Their fried catfish and grits is also five stars. Whenever I go, I’m greeted with a smile and seated immediately. If you’re ever in the area or visiting the Brooklyn museum, this is a great place to grab a quick bite. Typically I order one mimosa, one cocktail, and an entrée. With that my bill is usually around $65, not bad at all, considering the quality, service, and the fact that it’s about two blocks away from the Brooklyn Museum.

5 Star Rating I love this place! Last year I’ve given it a bad review which in my defense was clouded by my pregnancy and some things looked worse than it actually was and deleted later😂BUT! I do think that after that review things got much better. Sandwiches are way more moist. Mild is mild and spicy is definitely spicy. Substantial amount of meat and pickled veggies. I love it all! I’ll do say that if you get noodle salad, get double protein and double the fish sauce. You’ll most likely end up with left over iceberg salad otherwise. It’s so close and they’re always super fast. Just call for pick up. ⬆️ I’m pretty sure the owners are the ones working there everyday. Who doesn’t love a gem like that? :)

3 Star Rating The banh mi was pretty solid—definitely the highlight of the meal. The pork was flavorful. The bread was fresh, with that perfect crispy crust and soft interior. I also loved the creamy mayo and tangy pickled vegetables, which added a nice balance to the sandwich. Unfortunately, the pho was a major letdown. The broth tasted bland and watered down, more like the free soup you get with a lunch special than the rich, aromatic broth you’d expect from a good pho. It lacked the depth of flavor and the comforting warmth that make pho so special. The noodles and other ingredients couldn’t save it either.

3 Star Rating A Mexican place run entirely by Asians. Welcome to New York. I had the chorizo burrito. The food inside was ok, the chorizo perhaps a little dry and the tomatoes were watery and flavorless. What pissed me off was the lack of knowledge of how to wrap a burrito (see picture). I would love to watch a Millennial blogger from the Huffington Post lecture these people on cultural appropriation. I paid $8.50 for the burrito and a 20oz coke. A decent price point for this area of BK given the proximity to the park, BK Museum, and income level of the local residents. CASH ONLY - ATM Fee = $1.79

2 Star Rating I’ll have to give it a 3 star for food. We ordered the po’boy fish and there was no meat noted in the sandwich. Just crispy fried scarp pieces. I did let the owner know afterwards and no accommodation was offered. She just kept saying “you should’ve returned it so I could see it”. Other than that, it had good flavor I just wish I had fish meat in the sandwich. The mango jerk wings were ok, the meat was a little tough. The ambiance is nice. Our waiter Sky was great. 5 Star Rating The Red Lobster roll, Volcano roll and Dancing Eel sushi rolls were great! Especially on a hot summer day the sushi was refreshing to have to cool off. Fish and sushi rice was fresh. Location was great , restaurant near Brooklyn art museum and Brooklyn Botanical garden. I am becoming a regular here.

5 Star Rating I did a carry out order and was pleasantly surprised. This place is newer so I thought I would give them a try. Im happy to say they had some of the better Chinese American takeout in this area of crown heights/prospect heights which tend to be subpar. If you want actually decent Chinese American this place hits the spot. Haven’t tried their other Asian dishes like sushi or poke yet but if it’s as decent as their Chinese food it must be worth it to try. Prices are a little higher than other comparable restaurants but the quality/flavor seems better and portions are reasonable in my opinion. This review is totally based on the food. Did not experience the full service or atmosphere of the restaurant.

5 Star Rating Because it was only about a two minute ride away and also had good reviews, we stopped by Crown Garden for a late Sunday afternoon lunch after visiting the Brooklyn museum. Although predominately a takeout/delivery restaurant, there are a few tables at which to eat and the dining area and bathroom were very clean and a step above the dining areas you often find at small Chinese restaurants. We were greeted by two friendly women who when we remarked that the dish we wanted, cold sesame noodles, was not on the menu said no problem, we can make it for you! So we ordered the noodles and sesame chicken. Portions are generous and our food tasted fresh and flavorful. By the way, they use white meat for their chicken dishes and offer both dim sum and sushi as well as the standard Chinese takeout dishes. Prices are very reasonable. Two thumbs up for Crown Garden!

2 Star Rating EDIT: Came back here today and was severely disappointed. Seems the recipes have changed since they opened. The mapo tofu I ordered was NOT the one I was so excited about when I first came here. It was incredibly bland and had zero meat. Worst mapo I have ever eaten bar none. Great chinese food. Peking noodles are great. Beef short rib is great. General Tso’s is perfectly crispy — not too hard or soft. Even the brown sugar boba was really good.

5 Star Rating Absolutely delicious new Chinese restaurant near Eastern Pkwy - Brooklyn Museum stop. A few of the best dishes to highlight: Szechuan Roast Pork Stir Fry -Sweet & smokey roast pork with a five spice and brown sugar blend is perfect for any meat lovers. Plus, the charred red peppers, onions and jalapeños are yummy! House Special Peking Noodle -Sweet dark soy sauce base with salted pork and ginger to be mixed with noodles. The balance of sweet and salty is perfect and the soy sauce egg was surprisingly delicious too. Salmon Tuna Poke Bowl -Big portion of fresh fish with mild Sriracha and kewpie mayonnaise. The kids really liked this one and finished the whole thing. House Special Fried Rice -Highly underrated! The roast pork again is amazing here, and the shrimp and fried eggs really support the fried rice. The service here was quick and friendly. The ambiance is quiet and good for families and kids. They mostly do take-out and delivery and have some tables inside.
