I visited on 10/25/24 it was fairly busy. The atmosphere was very cold when the doors would open, the breeze that enters does not allow you to enjoy the food. The server was extremely slow bringing the drinks, some of my party received their food minutes after each other. Many items that were ordered were forgotten and had to wait a while. The turkey burger was very soggy. The French fries were disappointing as they were not crinkled cut as pictured in many reviews. They were. Small hand cut fries over cooked and greasy. The meal was not as enjoyable as I would like. (French fries not pictured as they came extremely late to the table)

The food was pretty good. We ordered from the happy hour menu. The shrimp tacos were not the best. It was a tempura shrimp with a soft tortilla shell but that tortilla was hard and kinda stale. The taco is meant to be spicy but I got the spicy sauce on the side due to my battle with acid reflux. The taco left much to desired for $10 for 2 so I would try something different next time. The staff here has always been courteous and accommodating. The wings are my favorite. I wish you could order 2 portion sizes because I wanted more after these were done because they are so tasty. We also got an onion tower not pictured here but it was delicious nonetheless just make sure you eat it while it’s hot.

We went to dinner with my family, they have excellent service, Michelle served us and she was great 👌, she is very kind and helpful, it is difficult to find people like her. The strawberry shake is delicious, try it! Although everything was delicious; 100% recommended (and they have a children's menu)

We were booked in as a group and loved the food and efficient, friendly service. It’s loud and crowded but worth it! Their signature burger was so delicious I do recommend it. Everything our group ate from vegetarian burgers to salads were raved about.

Hit on their Happy Hour 3-6pm and after 9pm so the menu is limited. The $4 Brooklyn Pilsner was perfect for a summer afternoon. The cheeseburger sliders were a bit on the too well done side. The spinach artichoke dip was just ok; the chips were not fresh (not stale, just not fresh). For value, I would return again but would try different items or try their lunch menu. Service was great. Aidewalk dining available. Aug 2024

I only had three bagels in New York, but this was easily the best one. The pastrami smoked salmon was also delicious, but it's the pickle that came with my sandwich that I'm still thinking about two weeks later. Will I ever have a pickle as good? Should I have emptied my suitcase of belongings and filled it with pickles, instead? I'll be back someday. Wait for me, pickles.

A must, one of the few iconic old school delis/breakfast/bagel left in NYC!
Located in the UWS, the grandson of the original owner will greet you at the cash register (remember is cash only) with a smile and a nice word!!
Totally worth it, for some of us is the best comfort food and time travel we can have!

OMG - why is there not a queue a mile looooong to get onto this place. Once TikTok dIscovers it, it will become the next viral place. Established for over a century, the food is outstanding and the team is amazing. NYC at its best. Go - like NOW !!!

Real mixed bag here.
Got a coffee, open faced nova bagel and blintzes.
Not only was all of that an eyewatering $50+, the bagel portion size was real skimpy, and I got the feeling that the staff wanted me out of there ASAP.
I guess if you consider half the price spent not on the food, but on taking part in a constant IRL GTA 3 cutscene, it might be worth it for you - it wasn't for me.

The food was phenomenal! Especially the appetizer! We got babaghanoush with 2 cigars and 2 pitas, and it was mind blowing. The seasoning of the babaghanoush was just perfect. The beef cigars and pitas were also extremely delicious. The outside of the cigars were almost like pastry, a little flaky and mildly crispy. The pita bread was simply excellent. It was freshly baked and steaming hot. The burger was also very delicious, but a bit salty to my taste. The classic rib-eye steak was also well cooked. The meat was very tender and juicy. The grilled vegetables were okay. Good thing the fries were great, too! The service was also very nice. Very laid back and relaxing. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to come back again!!

The food was exquisite and plentiful definitelythey give a insane amount of food per serving . I had a reservation, my first time coming. Everything was very smooth. Luckily there was no wait. There was many couples celebrating some type of event in their lives I noticed, so it was definitely one of those type of places. But it was definitely an exquisite restaurant to have went to. All the food tasted great. I would definitely give them an 8 out of 10.

Delicious food at a really good price for NYC! One order is more than enough for 3 people. If you have 4 people, it may be enough depending on everyone's appetite - get desert if it's not enough. Drinks are also really good and they have a wide selection. I definitely would suggest making a reservation ahead of time. It's not required, but it may be over an hour wait if you don't.

We had an amazing dining experience at Carmine's Italian Restaurant on the Upper West Side. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. We enjoyed so much food that we had to take some home! The portions were generous, and everything was full of flavor. We truly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend for a fantastic Italian meal!

Wowwww each plate is large enough to share. It was so much food we had to pass on desserts. The wait staff and manager were amazing constantly checking on our table.
The manager even cleaned off plates from the tables which is amazing because normally managers stay in the back and it was great to see the interaction with everybody in the restaurand that she supported her staff by actually helping clear off tables and talking to the guests.
I give this restaurant 10 stars, and I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back.
Our waiter was awesome and took the time to explain how large the dishes are so that we did not overorder are food? There were 6 of us.We ordered three meals and we still had tons of food left over.

Carmines Upper West Side 91st Street on Broadway is a great place for larger groups to enjoy Italian cuisine. The menu has all of the basic Italian food dishes. The selections are served family style. I think this adds to the conversation and family friendly atmosphere. The food is remarkably well prepared. I thought the spaghetti carbonara was excellent. It can be a difficult dish to get right. Some restaurants will take shortcuts that will impact the flavor of this gourmet dish. The rigatoni bolonase was ok. The Carmines salad and the cold antipasto were both wonderful dishes. My guests commented that they should not have filled up on the bread! The bread is very moist and tasty. However, the salads and the main dishes are pleantyful. I will repeat the advice from my guests. Do not fill up on the bread! Carmines is not a first choice for quiet dinnertime conversation! The place is full of chatter from the other tables. You will hear people singing happy birthday mixed with general crowd noise. Yes it can be noisy at times, but it is a happy noise that doesn't seem to get in the way of nearby conversation. All in all, the food was delicious and the experience for my first time guests was a pleasant one. They were very happy with the food and the dining experience.

My husband and I are obsessed about this place. We almost know the whole team by now, we been to brunch, lunch, dinner, and ordered their dinner specials since we discovered the restaurant. It was always a 10/10 experience! On a hard day at work, we go and blow off steam with the always amazing food. On weekends,we bring friends and family to the restaurant to enjoy a sunny day conversational brunch. When we got our puppy, this is the first restaurant we took him to because we felt comfortable and at home! Highly recommended this place.... I can't say enough! Amin, Lena, Nelson and everyone always make us feel sooooooo welcome. Please check this place out ASAP!

French Roast is a wonderful spot to eat, relax, and catch up with friends. The atmosphere here is wonderful, easy going, relaxed, atmospheric, and very free. And the food is amazing! The tomato soup was delicious and the Grilled Salmon as well. Croissants are fresh and crispy and coffee is flavourful and full of aroma. I throughly enjoyed the food and the ambiance of this wonderful restaurant, the people that work here, and will for sure come back and recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I truly enjoyed my time at French Roast! Such a warm, homey and unique atmosphere at this place. It reminds you of old New York in the most special way, the ambience of the restaurant is very relaxing and fun at the same time. The food is delicious, I had the Tomato Broccoli soup and it was one of the best tomato soups I ever had, so fresh and delicious. My friends had salmon and salads, and everything looked and tasted amazing. Their Sweet Potato fries are so yummy as well.
Stuff was very welcoming, attentive and kind.
A great place to have delicious food, relax and enjoy yourself.

Food was Okay but when I ordered the lunch “special” for 17 bucks, I expected more than 4 very small pieces of meat 4 mediocre pieces of broccoli. It seems We’re being charged for their very high rent but still leaving there very hungry. The lunch special isn’t very special, it’s less than an appetizers worth of food and doesn’t come with anything that a typical special would come with. No egg roll, no pork fried rice, no drink….but you are asked to leave a review for a free egg roll.

Love eating here. Whether it’s getting their lunch special (with miso soup), to getting their sushi (which is currently at 30%off). They even have complementary tea. Whenever I work in the area, Ollies is at the top of my list of places to have lunch at. Wonderful portions, very tasty, and great service. Highly recommend!

This restaurant holds a special place in my heart. I've been going my entire life and I cannot stop saying good thing about them, they treat me like family. It's a cute and nostalgic spot where you can find classic dishes that are made fresh and affordable. The lunch meal (comes with a bev/soup) is extremely cheap and delicious, incredibly convenient for college students in the area. There are also many Ollie's restaurants sprinkled throughout the city, making this very accessible to everyone.

Fresh homemade pasta and traditional Italian food served in a casual, cozy ambience. Popular neighborhood Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side that is known for its warm and casual atmosphere. Offering a variety of traditional Italian dishes, chicken Parmesan is a favorite. They don’t take reservations and it’s cash only always crowded, the food is worth the wait.

Very good food! It’s definitely over a 4 but not a 4.7.
The pizza and Pasta were delicious but the place itself needs a little TLC as it was run down and not the cleanest.

Went to this place for dinner on a Saturday. The place located in a west side of Manhattan and they take cash only. I ordered fried calamari, pasta, ravioli. The food served at a good temperature. The food taste was good. However, the place was really congested and can be very crowded. Also the tables are sticky.

Food 5/10
So many people have raved about this hidden gem on the UWS. I checked it out for a friend’s birthday, and unfortunately the only thing I enjoyed was the tiramisu, which was actually super solid. The vongole was quite bland, lacked bounce, and the clams did not taste very fresh. The quattro pizza was also quite dry and brick hard, not particularly appetizing.
Atmosphere 6/10
Seating was a bit cramped and it was also quite hot inside.
Service 7/10
Cash only! Very friendly home-style service.

The decor is Turkish and is pleasing, see my photo taken on a pleasant evening when most people were dining outside. I started off with a pleasing (thick homemade) red lentil soup ($8.50), thickened by a little butter. The lamb tagine ($26.50), gluten free, had a flavorful juice/sauce, but the lamb had lost its flavor in the cooking process, it came with rice. All the food was served at the table hot due to an efficient restaurant runner bringing the food over seemingly right after the chef had put them up for pickup by the restaurant runner.

Food here isn’t above and beyond but isn’t bad for the price.
We had a few plates for sharing including the sampler, I mostly liked their labne + cheese filled filo dough along with their fresh baked bread, the issue was that they did not bring enough for the table.
Also had the eggplant baylidi which was flavorful.
Their kofte wrap had no flavor what so ever it does not even taste like kofte. The fries taste like fast food restaurant fries, and the ketchup that came with the fries had way too much sugar in it.
Lentil soup was decent.

My first NYC Greek diner experience…loved it!
I had the pastrami on rye, and my plate was clean minutes later. Perfect energy source ahead of walking through Central Park.
I looked around and saw many senior citizens, which to me was a very good sign of patrons who maybe have been going to City Diner for years.
I’ll be back when I return to NYC!

2.5 stars for the food, but 3 stars overall because the service was good. Servers were nice snd fast.
We tried the Chicken Omelette, Steak and Eggs, Pancakes with chocolate chips, and Waffle with strawberries.
- The Chicken Omelette was really bland. The home fries that came with them were completely unseasoned. The only flavor came from the chicken chunks in the omlette. The omelette itself tasted oddly watery, maybe from the larger tomato chunks in it. Really not worth ~$19. I remember getting the same thing from Manhattan Diner, their sister restaurant, and liking it there, so I wanted to try it in this location, but it was so unappetizing. Just thinking about it makes me lose my appetite.
- The Steak and Eggs were really bland too, but the steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare.
- The pancakes weren't bad, but I thought the price for $3.95 per topping was a bit steep. Pancakes were soft and fluffy -- a bit undercooked though if I had to nit pick. The chocolate chips were embedded into the pancakes and gave a nice crispy to some of the edges of the pancakes. I think this was the only thing that tasted good.
- The waffle was okay. It wasn't crispy at all and was a little undercooked as well. It smelled sweeter than it tasted.
Overall, really didn't enjoy my dining experience here. The lighting was really dim, and the whole place smelled like I was in an airplane. One cashier/host kept coughing into his hands and walking around and touching everything, which made me lose my appetite even more. For the price, the food really wasn't good. I had a better experience at Manhattan Diner, which has the exact same menu.

We walked into an empty Indian Tanpura restaurant on Sunday night and after eating there I have no idea why it was empty!! The food was delicious and so flavorful. The service was thoughtful, attentive, and timely. Khan took care of us and made our night! He gave us complimentary Indian beer because we had never tried it before. And when we took our food home he gave us extra rice and rice pudding for free!! The most special part was the kindness Khan showed us, letting us know that if there was ever a time where we couldn’t afford food, Indian Tanpura would always be there with a warm meal. We left that night with full, satisfied bellies and warm hearts!
This is my new favorite neighborhood spot, and new friend.

came here with a friend on whim and the food was absolutely fantastic! We got the chicken curry which was perfectly seasoned and the chicken vindaloo which had a little kick to it, but still so so tasty! Khan made sure we were taken care of while we dined at his restaurant and even let us try some of this very smooth Indian beer that I highly recommend you get! If you’re looking for authentic and fresh Indian food…look no further than Indian Tanpura! Definitely will be back!!!! Food and service was above and beyond!

Excellent food but even better service! Enjoyed the chicken tandoori immensely — best I’ve had in NY — but Khan’s friendly attentiveness and excellent good humor really made the experience. Don’t sleep on this place! If what you crave is ambience, peace, and excellent music, this is your zone.
