I've been dining with 5NB since the Hell's Kitchen location opened many years ago. It's always been a reliable and dependable restaurant. In the past decade, I've preferred the UWS location, which has more of a neighborhood vibe. Last night's visit did not disappoint. My guest selected a burger, and I decided to try something new; a sushi combo. The place was packed like I have not seen it for a while, and the service team was gliding over the floor in high speed. Out visit was a great experience, but what I'd like to highlight is the joyous and efficient service that our server Jose delivered. He is a perfect example of someone who loves what they do, someone who takes pride in what they do, and someone who completely understands what good service is. Though it was incredibly busy, he was very attentive and he seemed to make more effort than was required. I dine out frequently, in a great variety of establishments; not every server enjoys what they do. Not every server has the temerity to maneuver the needs and expectations of a moody customer base. Jose was fantastic! Kudos to the management team that decided he would be a great representative of 5NB.

We went to dinner with my family, they have excellent service, Michelle served us and she was great 👌, she is very kind and helpful, it is difficult to find people like her. The strawberry shake is delicious, try it! Although everything was delicious; 100% recommended (and they have a children's menu)

I like the atmosphere, there is a burger place and sushi place together. Very interesting. I got the burger with bacon. I have to say delicious burger but a little bit too pricy. The fries are not included and the server didn’t mention it.

The food was pretty good. We ordered from the happy hour menu. The shrimp tacos were not the best. It was a tempura shrimp with a soft tortilla shell but that tortilla was hard and kinda stale. The taco is meant to be spicy but I got the spicy sauce on the side due to my battle with acid reflux. The taco left much to desired for $10 for 2 so I would try something different next time. The staff here has always been courteous and accommodating. The wings are my favorite. I wish you could order 2 portion sizes because I wanted more after these were done because they are so tasty. We also got an onion tower not pictured here but it was delicious nonetheless just make sure you eat it while it’s hot.

Our server Jerry was absolutely delightful. We asked for recommendations on the menu, he first asked if we wanted his favorites or most ordered. We wanted his and he offered a variety of suggestions and explained the flavor profiles of each item. He was friendly, service oriented and a top notch host of our table. Without a doubt, the best bagel I've tried in the city. Great quality smoked fish on a freshly baked bagel. The ambiance is an old style deli. It's cramped inside, especially over the weekend, but the staff is great, very fast and somehow it all runs smoothly. Cash only!!! I didn't read the sign and didn't have any cash. The owner at the cash register was kind enough to keep my order on the side so that I could go withdraw some cash.

This is the old school Jewish Deli we all need. December is the time of the year to get their latkes. Smoked Salmon on a Bagel with Capers and Challah French Toast were just what we were looking for. The pickle plate hit the spot - surprisingly the pickled tomatoes were my favorite.

I only had three bagels in New York, but this was easily the best one. The pastrami smoked salmon was also delicious, but it's the pickle that came with my sandwich that I'm still thinking about two weeks later. Will I ever have a pickle as good? Should I have emptied my suitcase of belongings and filled it with pickles, instead? I'll be back someday. Wait for me, pickles.

One of the revered establishments of UWS for good reason: their latkes are so crispy with an applesauce and sour cream that complement them. Smoked fish on a freshly baked bagel: absolutely stellar. A bit cramped inside but honestly impressive watching the staff at work—flowing seamlessly from table to table!

The food was phenomenal! Especially the appetizer! We got babaghanoush with 2 cigars and 2 pitas, and it was mind blowing. The seasoning of the babaghanoush was just perfect. The beef cigars and pitas were also extremely delicious. The outside of the cigars were almost like pastry, a little flaky and mildly crispy. The pita bread was simply excellent. It was freshly baked and steaming hot. The burger was also very delicious, but a bit salty to my taste. The classic rib-eye steak was also well cooked. The meat was very tender and juicy. The grilled vegetables were okay. Good thing the fries were great, too! The service was also very nice. Very laid back and relaxing. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to come back again!!

Delicious food, and my steak was cooked perfectly! However, our friends order was wrong, and by the time we all finished our food, she then got her correct order and had to eat alone. It was disappointing. Other than that it was a nice dining experience

I ordered a burger tonight and they asked me what I wanted as a side dish, including mashed potatoes, now when I got home and I looked at the bill, I saw I was charged $5.00 for the side dish that was supposed to be included. I feel I got totally ripped off and won't be coming back any time soon..

This review is for my experience at the bar eating off the lunch menu. First I had to ask my server to clean the bar where there were several visible crumbs, he accommodated the request by pouring vodka on a napkin and wiping my area down. I ordered linguine with garlic and oil very plain with not much garlic and not much flavor but plenty of hard inedible bits of garlic rind. I had to ask for a refill of water in which I was given warm tap water with no ice. Overall I expected an elevated dining experience from Carmines. Based on my experience I would not recommend this location nor would I return.

We had an amazing dining experience at Carmine's Italian Restaurant on the Upper West Side. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. We enjoyed so much food that we had to take some home! The portions were generous, and everything was full of flavor. We truly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend for a fantastic Italian meal!

The gluten free pasta wasn’t the best but it can be a hit & a miss with that. The salad was awesome! Same for the calamari & baked mussels! Portion is crazy more than enough for two ppl, I would say more family style of dinning.

I have been coming here for about 5 years for work Holiday party. The atmosphere has always been welcoming and busy with customers. The food is family style and always spot on . The appetizers, main courses and desserts never disappoint. The bar either with drinks. 😉

Maria Lena, was a great server. She took the time to explain the specials and each meal on the menu. She was very gracious and approachable. The food was also exquisite. If you want traditional French food done right, come to French Roast! Open 365 days a year and they have brunch too!

We love dining outside here during the warmer months—the outdoor seating adds a lovely touch to the experience. The food is consistently excellent, with a great selection of wines to complement the meal. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring a pleasant visit. This is easily one of the best spots to dine on the Upper West Side!

Started strong, sat at the bar while we waited for a table, then were offered the two worst tables one next to the kitchen and the other literally underneath the TV. We decided to stay at the bar. Ordered steak and eggs medium rare and over medium, arrived medium and flatted with over easy eggs that felt like they were cooked in water. It was somehow both cold and oily. I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon.

My husband and I are obsessed about this place. We almost know the whole team by now, we been to brunch, lunch, dinner, and ordered their dinner specials since we discovered the restaurant. It was always a 10/10 experience! On a hard day at work, we go and blow off steam with the always amazing food. On weekends,we bring friends and family to the restaurant to enjoy a sunny day conversational brunch. When we got our puppy, this is the first restaurant we took him to because we felt comfortable and at home! Highly recommended this place.... I can't say enough! Amin, Lena, Nelson and everyone always make us feel sooooooo welcome. Please check this place out ASAP!

Food was Okay but when I ordered the lunch “special” for 17 bucks, I expected more than 4 very small pieces of meat 4 mediocre pieces of broccoli. It seems We’re being charged for their very high rent but still leaving there very hungry. The lunch special isn’t very special, it’s less than an appetizers worth of food and doesn’t come with anything that a typical special would come with. No egg roll, no pork fried rice, no drink….but you are asked to leave a review for a free egg roll.

Love eating here. Whether it’s getting their lunch special (with miso soup), to getting their sushi (which is currently at 30%off). They even have complementary tea. Whenever I work in the area, Ollies is at the top of my list of places to have lunch at. Wonderful portions, very tasty, and great service. Highly recommend!

Our go to place for lunch, dinner, when we have lots of company, as well as for take out- parties. Food is always yummy and a crowd pleaser. Everyone in my family have their own favorites. Moo Shu Pork with extra pancakes, chicken with eggplant and garlic sauce, as well as all the soups.

An authentic Cantonese noodle & BBQ takeout place. We ordered roasted chicken, chashao BBQ meat & beef noodle soups. Roasted chicken & chashao were good but the beef noodle soup was undercooked and tough to bite (many tendons), we ended up need to cook in our stove to soften them. also soup is a little bit too salty for my taste.

A delicious meal with the family! The place is pretty small but you can have a great meal with a large party (just make sure you make a reservation). It is cash only but well worth having the paper money on me. Everything I tried was really good. I recommend the vermicelli clam pasta dish. That was my favorite. The lasagna tasted like my grandma made it. And the prosciutto pizza was a memorable one. We also had a great Pinot Rose wine that paired well with the dishes. The owner and staff were around and made my family feel very welcomed. I'll be returning. I can eat that clam vermicelli pasta everyday 😋.

Went to this place for dinner on a Saturday. The place located in a west side of Manhattan and they take cash only. I ordered fried calamari, pasta, ravioli. The food served at a good temperature. The food taste was good. However, the place was really congested and can be very crowded. Also the tables are sticky.

Food 5/10 So many people have raved about this hidden gem on the UWS. I checked it out for a friend’s birthday, and unfortunately the only thing I enjoyed was the tiramisu, which was actually super solid. The vongole was quite bland, lacked bounce, and the clams did not taste very fresh. The quattro pizza was also quite dry and brick hard, not particularly appetizing. Atmosphere 6/10 Seating was a bit cramped and it was also quite hot inside. Service 7/10 Cash only! Very friendly home-style service.

The decor is Turkish and is pleasing, see my photo taken on a pleasant evening when most people were dining outside. I started off with a pleasing (thick homemade) red lentil soup ($8.50), thickened by a little butter. The lamb tagine ($26.50), gluten free, had a flavorful juice/sauce, but the lamb had lost its flavor in the cooking process, it came with rice. All the food was served at the table hot due to an efficient restaurant runner bringing the food over seemingly right after the chef had put them up for pickup by the restaurant runner.

Food here isn’t above and beyond but isn’t bad for the price. We had a few plates for sharing including the sampler, I mostly liked their labne + cheese filled filo dough along with their fresh baked bread, the issue was that they did not bring enough for the table. Also had the eggplant baylidi which was flavorful. Their kofte wrap had no flavor what so ever it does not even taste like kofte. The fries taste like fast food restaurant fries, and the ketchup that came with the fries had way too much sugar in it. Lentil soup was decent.

I went here for a lunch with coworkers and it was absolutely delicious. The service was cordial, and attentive. I drink a lot of water and they noticed and filled me up twice, bless them. The atmosphere was casual but not too casual. Two of us were vegetarian and we managed to find good options on the menu easily. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but because of the cold weather we chose to sit indoors. The brick oven is phenomenal. Everything tasted amazing and was served in perfect proportions, perfectly seasoned, at the perfect temperature. I felt like the prices were reasonable. I would wholeheartedly recommend for a casual date night or a work lunch, or for a lunch with friends.

Nice little diner at a walking distance from our place and we could get a seat within 5 mins on a Saturday afternoon for 3 of us. Service is typical diner style, quick and effective and our order included a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa, both pretty decent. I got the Veggie Deluxe Burger ($15) and the first few bites felt really decent, but then the burger patties felt really dry. Food overall felt pretty substandard, including the pancakes we ordered for our little one. Service was quick though and noise levels were on the average end. Comfortable booth seating, and fairly huge portions. Might visit again!

It's a diner. The food is tasty and a little above average. And the staff if excellent. It's exactly what you'd expect from a New York diner. I always get the Athenian omelet. I go back every couple of weeks!

This fantastic restaurant was recommended to us by a local in a nearby coffee shop. We were the only ones in the restaurant but we had a great time. The papadam that was served before the meal came with three chutneys, the onion was my favorite. For entrees we got the chicken tikka masala and the lamb korai which is a specialty of theirs. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and left us wanting more. The garlic naan that we ordered was the best we have ever had, baked perfectly and seasoned well. Overall we had one of our best meals in New York here and would recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian in the area.

Our favorite Indian restaurant in the neighborhood! While the menu is not extensive, their food is delicious. We especially love the lamb korai, chicken mahkni, and saag. My wife doesn’t like spicy food, yet she loves their curries. The restaurant is very pleasant and quiet - it has a family feel. Come here if you’re done with eating chicken tikka masala take out every time you think of Indian food.
