Super cute restaurant, a very kid friendly, family-friendly vibe. Our waiter was very nice but he accidentally forgot to key in our food. So it was quite late. He was very apologetic and owned up to the mistake, so we figured maybe he was new. It was not a big deal. He was very sweet about it. The food i ordered was ok. It was a new spicey sausage and rapini pasta and I should have just stuck to their classic pizza. It was average tasting. My friends who are vegetarian ordered the cacio de pepe pizza and the beyond the meat pizza. They raved about the beyond the meat pizza but felt the cacio de pepe was just ok. We also ordered dessert, lemon ricotta cheesecake, and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu was a hit. None of us enjoyed the cheesecake.

Last night, I had the pleasure of visiting libretto where I indulged in their Neapolitan-style pizza. I must say, it was a delightful experience! The crust was perfectly charred and airy, with that distinct chewiness you expect from a genuine Neapolitan pizza. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, beautifully complementing the tangy and rich tomato sauce. Each bite was a burst of flavors that transported me straight to Naples. The ambiance of the pizzeria added to the authenticity, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're a fan of true Italian pizza, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to satisfy their pizza cravings!

I’m obsessed with Pizzeria Libretto’s pizzas! The crust is like heaven—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tastes just like Nonna’s homemade bread. Seriously addictive stuff

A great neighborhood choice for pizza. Made in their pizza oven, which you can see when you peak into the open concept kitchen.
I had the funghi pizza with gorgonzola which was delicious! You don't see "white" pizzas on the menu very often.
Service was super friendly.

Really excellent pizza. Very fresh and soft dough. The toppings, although not very generous, are really tasty. Staff are friendly and the place is large. The main floor is quite noisy - not the best acoustics but apparently there is a more private downstairs area that I would check out next time. If you’re looking for great pizza, this is a top spot!

I couldn't be happier with the experience we had at this restaurant for my son's first birthday celebration. They graciously accommodated our party of 15, which included two babies and a toddler, with such warmth and hospitality.
From allowing us to bring in balloons and a cake to providing exceptional service that went above and beyond our expectations, every detail was thoughtfully handled. The restaurant itself was impeccably clean and spacious, creating a comfortable environment for our gathering.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit everyone's tastes. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed every dish.
Thank you again to the staff for making this milestone celebration so memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

nice place with open kitchen and very packed during dinner. we reserved beforehand so didn’t have to wait which is good. server was really kind and understanding. first had the calamari, it was really delicious! then we had the steak and gnocchi asiago. i loved the gnocchi! it was packed with flavours and very creamy. the steak was okay, nothing too special. all over it was a nice dinner.

As a lot of these reviews say, this place gets PACKED at lunch and dinner time, especially during Friday and Saturday nights. It is a hot spot to dine in on the Danforth, as the food is very good. Reservations are essential and it will get very loud!
I’ve been going here for a while now, and my most recent dinner with a few friends was lovely. Our server was kind and helpful, even though I know she was spread thin! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but again, it gets very rowdy!
For my appetizer, I got their garlic-cheese bread and it was so yummy! For my main, I got their mussels in a spicy tomato broth. It came with bread and butter was absolutely delicious! Lastly, for dessert, I got their New York cheesecake slice; I ALWAYS have to get one, it is so delectable. My friends got their creamy gnocchi and raspberry tartufos. I was blown away by the gnocchi when I had a taste; I will definitely try it when I come back! During my dine-ins before, I have gotten the butternut squash soup: IT IS HEAVENLY, I would also highly recommend!
This place is great for a night out with a group of friends. The food is consistently good and you can see how hard the chefs work. But I will emphasize this once more: reservations are essential, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. And don’t be surprised by the noise level!

Happy to return to Il Fornello on Danforth and enjoyed the plant based menu ~ it hit the spot!
As a vegan I appreciate how many options there are that use plant based ingredients to create flavourful dishes. The avocado cashew Caesar salad was nicely dressed and a light appetizer before our meal. For the main, I chose the mushroom pizza which was very hearty. Their vegan cheese is creamy…my non-vegan friend tried the pizza and said she couldn’t tell the difference that it was vegan cheese. Really liked the crust as well which is crispy outside and soft inside. Our server offered vegan parmesan to sprinkle on top and it was a flavourful touch. My friend had the penne capri pasta with chicken which she felt was delicious.
For both menus the prices are pretty fair and reasonable.
The location is a cozy vibe. always buzzing on the Saturday evenings we have visited. The hosts have kindly accommodated us quickly without a reservation, although a reservation would be better to ensure you get a table. A server noticed the light above our table was a bit bright and came over to dim it down. I really appreciate how thoughtful and welcoming the staff are.
My friend (non vegan) loves this location so it has become our new spot when we get together every now and then on a Saturday night. Looking forward to continue trying the other plant based dishes!

Came here before a show, staff was friendly service was a bit spacey. Atmosphere was clean but also kinda of dull and grey.
We ordered the parpadelle salsiccia (spicy sausage, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and arugulas) and the prosciutto pizza both were good but somewhat underwhelming.

Katsu will forever be my favourite restaurant.
Basically I’ve been coming here for about 10 years now, and whether you are ordering a bento box, or fully satisfying yourself with all you can eat, every meal and every taste at this restaurant is amazing.
I want to start off by saying the owner is such a kind and wonderful person, and really cares about each customer. I see her working every time I come in, and she is very passionate about her restaurant!
Secondly, I wanted to say that I thought there were sushi chefs working in the kitchen. Incorrect, there are magicians working here, because how is the food seriously that delicious?
And now for the menu. Okay, so you can choose to do all you can eat for a set price of around $37 (dinner), and I must say with all the options on the menu this is a really good deal! Or, if you’re not as hungry there are plenty of other cheaper options that are fully satisfying. Before having all you can eat I used to order a bento box (Natsu combo $13.99) that had my choice of meat (teriyaki chicken) with rice, shrimp and veggie tempura, dumplings, soup and california sushi! Such a big box for such a good deal!
I will say that the all you can eat really opened up my eyes to what this restaurant is capable of, and I’ll go through my favourite dishes that I recommend from the AYCE menu:
Appetizers:
Green salad
Dumplings (a MUST have)
Beef teriyaki
Tempura Shrimp (veggie is also good)
Tempura Squid (this one over Calamari)
Takoyaki
Sushi:
Danforth Roll (Deepfried, must try)
Green Dragon Roll (very yum)
Gold Dragon Roll (Salmon lovers must try this)
Dynamite Roll
California/Spicy California Roll
Avocado Roll (small sushi with just avocado)
Salmon Roll (small sushi with just salmon)
Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll
Salmon Sushi (Salmon Sashimi on a bed of rice)
Sashimi:
I cannot express this enough: Katsu’s salmon sashimi is to die for! My favourite sashimi, the best I’ve ever had. I have cravings for this taste. The texture is smooth, melts in your mouth. Amazing. And if you don’t think you’re a sashimi person, just give 1 piece of salmon sashimi here a try. Dip it in some soy sauce and be changed forever.
Also the atmosphere and ambience in this restaurant is very warm, cozy and welcoming. I come here as often as I can with friends and my fiancé, and am happy when I get the opportunity to introduce new sushi lovers to Katsu.
Anyways, yeah that’s my review. Thank you for reading this far if you have. And thank you Katsu for years of delicious meals! This is forever my favourite restaurant.

Tried Katsu's all-you-can-eat. There's no difference between their lunch and dinner ayce offering, and I'd say this was lunch quality at dinner prices. While they did have over 80 items on the menu, I've seen more at that price point and at a better quality level (though this wasn't bad).
Usual suspects were on there - sushi, sashimi, rolls, grilled and deep fried good, Asian icecream desserts, etc. Freshness was ok, neither good or bad. Service was quick. I know people who like this place so maybe their regular offering is better.

Katsu sushi is my go to sushi when visiting the Danforth. The owner is very nice and welcoming aswell as the server's.
I ordered a Bento box and I was very happy for the choices I was able to get. I had Katsu, rice, sushi rolls, side vegetables, gyoza and shrimp tempura all in one! Everything was tasty I had no issues with my Bento box.
I additionally got their yakatori to try and it didn't disappoint. Very flavourful and the cook on the meat was perfect.
Overall, extremely good service and great food.

Simone’s was always my go to place for Caribbean food. With the Pandemic and moving away from my old place, I haven’t been able to visit in years. Man did I miss it. Jerk chicken is delicious and they provide healthy portions. I would recommend getting a side of plantains as well to round off the meal. If you’re in the area and you want good food make sure to stop by Simone’s.

Chicken is juicy and rice is well flavored.. Friendly owners.. Good portions..
UPDATE:
Returned last Sunday and they put no gravy on the rice.. The rice was dry and barely edible. Very disappointing for $20.

The food was Amazing! One of the best cacibbean foods I have ever had in Toronto. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place is clean and nice. We had the shrimp curry and chicken stew both were just great! The portions were big. We had to bring some back home. I Definetly will go back and recommend this place to others.
The only thing I would suggest is that all their food comes in take out packaging, and thats alot of unnecessary plastic waste.
The food takes about half an hour to get ready! Which really worth it but if you are in a hurry its not the best option.

My buddy suggested this place since he said it was one of the best Caribbean spots in the city. He ain't wrong
Picked up oxtail and half order of jerk chicken
Oxtail was very tender and full of flavor and spices with rice and peas with a heavy coconut milk taste
Jerk chicken was fall off the bones with great spices and good kick of heat
Both items don't miss
Definitely one of the better spots in the cit

Dense, chewy, tasty. Got the salmon and cream cheese on an everything bagel. Very generous with the cream cheese, salmon was fine. Went there towards the end of the day and they gave me a free bagel to go. Good customer service!

Perfect location for the area. Love a fresh montreal smoked bagel. They even have a gluten-free option if that's your thing. They also just expanded the shop to accommodate a larger smoke pit. The only downfall is that they are not one to have a friendly chat... but conversation is not required;)

Wow I had such delicious and satisfying meal ☺️ I ordered the Karaage Ramen (karaage was put on the side, which I prefer) and it was so yummy. Usually when I have Ramen, the broth tends to be on the saltier side, but this was a perfect blend of smooth and rich flavors. You can really feel and taste the care and love the chefs put into the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really relaxing too! And the service was excellent 👌 ahh overall I'd recommend visiting this quiet, kawaii, and cozy little spot on Danforth!! You won't regret it ❤️❤️

Food - Their menu has the standard japanese food you usually see at others. There are a few items that have their own twists, such as the teriyaki fries. I got the dynamic roll, and unexpectedly, it was larger than I was used to. I prefer smaller rolls to fit into my mouth.
However, I didn't mind the largeness. It did taste good, nothing crazy but above the average. For the price, it was a little much. If you can share it, it would be better bang for your buck. The presentation was nice, and overall, I would come back if I was in the area.
Service - The server was friendly and professional. Food came out quickly, so there was nothing to complain about here.
Ambiance - I always appreciate it when the restaurant takes care of decorating. They have a bunch of japanese artwork and knick knacks. Lots of wood and an outside patio. It's near the subway and clean.
Overall, it's not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

The food was fantastic. The service on point! They really care about the presentation of the food, it was immaculate!! Even the menu was fantastically designed, new, clean, and a great feel.

Got take out from here and it was so fresh. The sushi pizza was one of the prettiest I’ve seen in a while. I would’ve gotten just mayo with it instead of spicy mayo but that was on me. The mango avo roll was my fave, the mango was so sweet!

Putting pickled ginger in sushi roll is lazy. It's a condiment, like wasabi, and you don't put it in the centre of sushi (I hope).I understand the budget is tight w the inflation, but please come up with something better that makes customer feel worthy paying for.
I ordered Sushi Tray F ($46.95) and Spring rolls ($6.49, Free w order over $30) for delivery.
Overall, im happy with the meal, except the 12 pcs of ginger rolls. It's a lack of creativity, if not underestimating your customer. I've been to this restaurant since it's opened, think it was more thoughtful then, with the owner himself in the sushi bar.
Rice was cooked properly (it's important to me it's not pasty), and seasoning was great.
Ubereats: so I took the free spring roll which was great, but the tip was calculated for the % of sushi + springroll+ tax. Then springroll was deducted in the end. Small thing, but a freebie should not be in the calculation.
I heard this is the same for other restaurants "deals", tax and tip are calculated for the pre-discount price (unless the customer is not mindful to calculate manually). I felt somewhat tricked.

I get why Mr Pide is a neighbourhood institution. The pides are amazing: tasty mix-and-match flavours, sometimes traditional sometimes fusion, generous with toppings and not overly bready, reasonably priced for the size and quality. The side garlic sauce and tomato dip are fresh and give a great flavour kick that will keep you dunking that pide.
People here are very welcoming and friendly, kitchen speed is reasonable, and service is efficient. Definitely my go-to in the area for pide!

Honestly, i cant lie we had a blast. Apparently, it was trivia night when we went and we had a bite, had a drink and played triva on the tablets they provided. It was a lot of fun. The food was good, it was nothing five star but it was satisfying and affordable. The server was extremely friendly and approachable, I wish I could remember her name to praise her properly. She had black hair and a friendly smile and was good at her job! It's a Gabby's so don't expect the world but this location definitely feels like one of the best, at least for me.
