4 Star Rating Pizza was good. I ordered the lemon ricotta on a GF crust. The gluten free crust was much better than most but still lacked flavor. My kids split a pizza and enjoyed it very much. It was very relaxed in there. Staff was very friendly and kind. Only complaint was a hair plastered to the inside of my cup that grossed me out but these things happen. I would eat here again but not often because it is a little on the pricier side for pizza. They do have some interesting flavor options though that I would like to try in the future.

5 Star Rating My partner and I visited yesterday for dinner and it was perfect after a busy day. I loved that there was a fully vegan pizza option and it was delicious, the crust nice and soft. The focaccia appetizer was salted and delicious as well. Magnus was our server and he was amazing, he was very polite, professional and thoughtful. We will definitely be back.

2 Star Rating Very disappointed with the pizza quality, I felt like I ingested a plate of grease, + the in house sausage looked more like ground beef. I finished it because I did not want to seem rude. Staff was nice, venue is quiet and clean but the one thing I came for was nice pizza, and sadly that didn’t happen.

5 Star Rating A restaurant doesn’t survive for 30 years by chance—it takes dedication to consistently delivering the quality and standards that keep patrons coming back. This location of Il Fornello is a perfect example of that, maintaining its reputation for exceptional food, reasonable prices, and attentive staff. Although it had been a year since my last visit, I was delighted to see my favorite dishes still on the menu, along with some enticing new daily specials. We started with the Avocado Cashew Caesar, which features a plant-based dressing and cheese. I had no idea it was vegan—it was rich and satisfying, with generous chunks of avocado and plenty of cashews, making it the perfect starter. We also shared a plate of gigantic warm olives served with crostini. It was my first time trying warm olives, and I’m now a convert—I’ll never eat them cold again! For my main, I chose the Orecchiette Funghi with added chicken. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, packed with wild mushrooms, and coated in a luscious, truffle creamy sauce I couldn’t get enough of. The generous portion was a bonus! The Fig Pizza was another standout—its combination of prosciutto, fig, mascarpone, arugula, parmigiano, and honey hit the perfect balance of sweet and savory. It was devoured in no time. Our server, Suzanne, elevated the experience even further. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with her recommendations, always attentive without being intrusive. It felt like she could anticipate our needs before we even asked. Overall, we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return soon. This visit only solidified why Il Fornello has been a staple for three decades—it truly lives up to its legacy.

5 Star Rating We had a great dinner and had a lovely experience this evening. Although the place was bustling with customers, the staff maintained a positive attitude and were attentive. While the service was a bit slower than what we typically expect, it was absolutely worth the wait. I ordered a pizza, and it was delicious—perfectly baked with fresh toppings. My husband chose the pasta, and he was raving about how tasty it was! Overall, despite the busy atmosphere, the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff made our visit enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this spot and can’t wait to return!

5 Star Rating As a lot of these reviews say, this place gets PACKED at lunch and dinner time, especially during Friday and Saturday nights. It is a hot spot to dine in on the Danforth, as the food is very good. Reservations are essential and it will get very loud! I’ve been going here for a while now, and my most recent dinner with a few friends was lovely. Our server was kind and helpful, even though I know she was spread thin! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but again, it gets very rowdy! For my appetizer, I got their garlic-cheese bread and it was so yummy! For my main, I got their mussels in a spicy tomato broth. It came with bread and butter was absolutely delicious! Lastly, for dessert, I got their New York cheesecake slice; I ALWAYS have to get one, it is so delectable. My friends got their creamy gnocchi and raspberry tartufos. I was blown away by the gnocchi when I had a taste; I will definitely try it when I come back! During my dine-ins before, I have gotten the butternut squash soup: IT IS HEAVENLY, I would also highly recommend! This place is great for a night out with a group of friends. The food is consistently good and you can see how hard the chefs work. But I will emphasize this once more: reservations are essential, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. And don’t be surprised by the noise level!

5 Star Rating Katsu will forever be my favourite restaurant. Basically I’ve been coming here for about 10 years now, and whether you are ordering a bento box, or fully satisfying yourself with all you can eat, every meal and every taste at this restaurant is amazing. I want to start off by saying the owner is such a kind and wonderful person, and really cares about each customer. I see her working every time I come in, and she is very passionate about her restaurant! Secondly, I wanted to say that I thought there were sushi chefs working in the kitchen. Incorrect, there are magicians working here, because how is the food seriously that delicious? And now for the menu. Okay, so you can choose to do all you can eat for a set price of around $37 (dinner), and I must say with all the options on the menu this is a really good deal! Or, if you’re not as hungry there are plenty of other cheaper options that are fully satisfying. Before having all you can eat I used to order a bento box (Natsu combo $13.99) that had my choice of meat (teriyaki chicken) with rice, shrimp and veggie tempura, dumplings, soup and california sushi! Such a big box for such a good deal! I will say that the all you can eat really opened up my eyes to what this restaurant is capable of, and I’ll go through my favourite dishes that I recommend from the AYCE menu: Appetizers: Green salad Dumplings (a MUST have) Beef teriyaki Tempura Shrimp (veggie is also good) Tempura Squid (this one over Calamari) Takoyaki Sushi: Danforth Roll (Deepfried, must try) Green Dragon Roll (very yum) Gold Dragon Roll (Salmon lovers must try this) Dynamite Roll California/Spicy California Roll Avocado Roll (small sushi with just avocado) Salmon Roll (small sushi with just salmon) Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll Salmon Sushi (Salmon Sashimi on a bed of rice) Sashimi: I cannot express this enough: Katsu’s salmon sashimi is to die for! My favourite sashimi, the best I’ve ever had. I have cravings for this taste. The texture is smooth, melts in your mouth. Amazing. And if you don’t think you’re a sashimi person, just give 1 piece of salmon sashimi here a try. Dip it in some soy sauce and be changed forever. Also the atmosphere and ambience in this restaurant is very warm, cozy and welcoming. I come here as often as I can with friends and my fiancé, and am happy when I get the opportunity to introduce new sushi lovers to Katsu. Anyways, yeah that’s my review. Thank you for reading this far if you have. And thank you Katsu for years of delicious meals! This is forever my favourite restaurant.

3 Star Rating Tried Katsu's all-you-can-eat. There's no difference between their lunch and dinner ayce offering, and I'd say this was lunch quality at dinner prices. While they did have over 80 items on the menu, I've seen more at that price point and at a better quality level (though this wasn't bad). Usual suspects were on there - sushi, sashimi, rolls, grilled and deep fried good, Asian icecream desserts, etc. Freshness was ok, neither good or bad. Service was quick. I know people who like this place so maybe their regular offering is better.

Definitely the spot to by when you're interested in sushi. Been going here for years, and everytime I stop by the quality has been maintained exceptionally well! Added addition is a complimentary dessert after your dine in meal 😊 Update June 07 2022 - Went with our family today, food was very good, atmosphere was very nice, with courteous staff. Definitely come again! 😁

4 Star Rating My wife and I were in the Pape and Danforth area and were looking for somewhere to eat. We came across Simone's Caribbean Restaurant and my wife, being of Jamaican descent, wanted to give this place a try. What we found was great and disappointing all at the same time. The place is just a stone's throw from the TTC Pape Subway Station, which is a great location to be in. The place is nice inside and feels very welcoming and so was the staff. There was a strange thing standing out to us, when we spoke to the person behind the counter, they explained that we can dine in, but everything is served in take-out containers. We were both very confused by this set up, but gave the food a try. My wife ordered Barbecued Chicken with rice and peas, with a side order of Festival. She loved the rice and peas, but she was disappointed with the Chicken. She said it was a little dry and only the skin had any real flavor. She liked the festival and said it was cooked well. I had the Jerk Chicken Salad, as the idea was interesting. I was very happy with it and the Jerk Chicken spice was very well balanced with the coolness of the salad. It was a great meal. We both got Beef patties to go and had them later on and found them to be decent and a great snack for later in the day. In closing, we found Simone’s a mixed bag. Some things were great while some were ok. The place not being a true “eat-in” restaurant, even though it is set up as such, was a little strange, but all in all it was a good experience and we will be back. If you want some good Caribbean take-out and live in the area, this is a great place to give a try.

5 Star Rating We ordered takeout from Simone’s for the first time tonight. Not only was this the best Caribbean food I’ve had, it was honestly one of the best meals of my life. We ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas, and oxtail with Johnny cakes. Both came with a side of coleslaw and we added an order of cod fish fritters. Everything was incredible. The portions are very generous so we thought we would have leftovers for lunch tomorrow, but everything was so good that we couldn’t stop eating. There was a bit of a wait for the order (30min) but I would wait 3 hours for this happily if I had to. Service was also friendly. Thank you to the Simone’s team for a wonderful dinner

3 Star Rating On Boxing Day, this Bagel Time was the only bagel shop open within a half hour walk of the downtown core. We bundled up and made the trek over to the Danforth, our mouths watering with anticipation. Unfortunately the bagels did not live up to our expectations. The “everything” in the bagels we ordered seemed to consist of sesame and poppy seeds only, and the texture was too chewy. Most importantly, the taste was just OK, and they lacked salt. I’ve had fresh bagels from restaurants with similar menus and wood oven, that have exploded in my mouth with fresh-baked flavour. None of that here.

5 Star Rating We ordered the takoyaki and shrimp okonomiyaki as our appetizer. Both were delicious. The nabeyaki udon was good. The zaru soba tasted like what you expected, just a regular zaru soba. It was a hearty meal and definitely great having after work. We went around 6pm, expected for it to be a little busy but surprisingly was not. 5 Star Rating Wow I had such delicious and satisfying meal ☺️ I ordered the Karaage Ramen (karaage was put on the side, which I prefer) and it was so yummy. Usually when I have Ramen, the broth tends to be on the saltier side, but this was a perfect blend of smooth and rich flavors. 3 Star Rating Putting pickled ginger in sushi roll is lazy. It's a condiment, like wasabi, and you don't put it in the centre of sushi (I hope).I understand the budget is tight w the inflation, but please come up with something better that makes customer feel worthy paying for. I ordered Sushi Tray F ($46.95) and Spring rolls ($6.49, Free w order over $30) for delivery. Overall, im happy with the meal, except the 12 pcs of ginger rolls. It's a lack of creativity, if not underestimating your customer. I've been to this restaurant since it's opened, think it was more thoughtful then, with the owner himself in the sushi bar. Rice was cooked properly (it's important to me it's not pasty), and seasoning was great. Ubereats: so I took the free spring roll which was great, but the tip was calculated for the % of sushi + springroll+ tax. Then springroll was deducted in the end. Small thing, but a freebie should not be in the calculation. I heard this is the same for other restaurants "deals", tax and tip are calculated for the pre-discount price (unless the customer is not mindful to calculate manually). I felt somewhat tricked.

5 Star Rating I get why Mr Pide is a neighbourhood institution. The pides are amazing: tasty mix-and-match flavours, sometimes traditional sometimes fusion, generous with toppings and not overly bready, reasonably priced for the size and quality. The side garlic sauce and tomato dip are fresh and give a great flavour kick that will keep you dunking that pide. 5 Star Rating Fun spot, great music. Dipped in for a beer before a show, will definitely be back.

5 Star Rating Date night monthly….The weekend vibe is my fav. Dj plays my fav tunes, favourite beverage Mojito:) I favour front room ambience….back room just as cool. Last time I was there….guest appearance from Neema Naz:)

5 Star Rating We visited this very nice spot on a Saturday night. Very classy place with a dancefloor and bar in the back. Dj was playing a variety of music and people were dancing and enjoying. We will definitely return and recommend 👏👏
