Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

Been three times and the food is always EXCELLENT. I'm pescatarian. I've had the arugula salad, the pan seared salmon and the gnocchi and all three were DELICIOUS.

Every staff member, including the owner himself, act as a team, ensuring each table is satisfied and that they have everything they need. Food is fresh and delicious, original and creative. Amazing selection, catering to a variety of preferences and dietary needs. Extensive beer/wine/cocktail menu to cater to everyone's taste. Highly recommend!! Awesome patio when weather permits.

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We love visiting for a quick bite or a nice dinner. The warm lentil salad is a nice light entree, but the ricotta gnocchi are too die for! So pillowy and indulgent! The fish and chips are also so great staple.

I finally got a chance to try this local neighborhood restaurant.
What we ate:
Calamari: cooked perfectly, a tad salty
Fish stew - not on the regular menu, but delicious. Had mussels, squid, shrimp, salmon and tilapia
Roasted veg - rapini, asparagus and mushrooms
Shrimp Cesar salad
Short rib rigatoni
Aperol spritz - not too sweet!
Overall, it was a fantastic restaurant. They were a bit understaffed, so somethings took a little time, but our server was quite nice and really did her best. I definitely recommend it and will come back.

It was my first time here. A friend recommended us to try a cappuccino. I am not even a cappuccino drinker, but it tasted really good (just like how delicious it tastes in Asmara) ! We came kind of late and the woman working there was getting ready to shut down the coffee maker for the night, but still made us our drinks with a smile on her face, conversed, and made us feel comfortable. Excellent customer service!

After playing badminton, we came here and had an amazing experience! The food was authentic with generous portions, and the owner, who is from Thailand, was so incredibly warm and welcoming. We were celebrating a birthday, and she even surprised us with a special ice cream treat—such a thoughtful touch! No draft beer, but the great food and atmosphere made up for it. Highly recommend!

I loved not only the presentation but the authentic flavors. This is a vegan friendly restaurant and they serve halal meat too. The Khao Soi Beef Rib was magical. The meat was so tender and the sauce was so incredibly delicious. The king prawn dish absolutely blew me away. I honestly thought they were giant lobster tails. 😅 Every part of my experience here was perfection. A couple of us gathered for a birthday celebration and this restaurant did not disappoint;I will definitely visit again!

We had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful tThai restaurant. Stunning decor with elements of Thailand. Clean and neat setting. The food was nothing short of amazing. All dishes are so good and flavorful, the presentation was impeccable. The portion sizes were generous, we all truly satisfied and content. The service not only attentive and professional, the staffs were also incredibly friendly and helpful. They check us out from time to time and to make sure we got everything right and with our satisfaction. Good food good price ! This place is a must-visit if you looking for great authentic Thai food~

When I went to the Sala kitchen the other day, I was not pleased with the experience. The food tasted alright, but there were missing flavours. It could have been more flavoured with spices and herbs. There are not many options from a vegan point of view. They do state "vegan" in their menus. However, it does necessarily mean it is vegan. The service took very long. I guess it was busy that day. Overall, it could be better for the future. Not the best.

We ordered the platter that has most of the popular items. The chicken was pretty tasty. Four of us ate all of items on this family platter except for the beef stew(?) which did not taste bad but had a very unusual flavor that did not agree with our palate. The staple which is like a pancake with honeycomb patterns. These can be refilled if the ones on the platter rans out. Some say it looks like the beef stomach. Ordered cakes for dessert, one baklava (4/10) & carrot cake (7/10). Date: 2024-AUG-29 dinner time.

This place was so beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly. Food also was out in a timely manner. We got to see the coffee ceremony. Overall lovely. The food was also great! I recommend skipping the meat dishes because the vegetarian dishes were PHENOMENAL! The Fresh Ginger tea is a must! Highly recommend! 10/10

My experience at Lalibela Ethiopian restaurant on Danforth East was truly exceptional. The lunch service was outstanding, and the food, especially the roasted fish Ethiopian style, was incredibly flavorful. The homemade salad and bread were delightful additions to the meal. Sewa, the owner, provided attentive and friendly service throughout our visit. The coffee ceremony was a unique and enjoyable experience, with the coffee beans being roasted right in front of us. Sitting by the door, in front of the coffee ceremony stage, added to the ambiance and made the experience even more memorable. I will definitely be returning to Lalibela Ethiopian restaurant for more of their delicious food and wonderful hospitality.

Really cool restaurant, tried the platter with a bit of everything, and everything was tasty. First time trying ingjera, it was a bit sour stand alone, but it blends really well with the food on the platter and definitely A+
The coffee ceremony was quaint and came with incense and popcorn, and of course tasty coffee.
Note: The wait staff is a little elusive, you gotta be proactive with what you need.

Great place.
Had the platter with Beef strips.
All tasted great and they even had Gluten free ingera (made from Teff flour).
Not spicy, could have been a little more bit.
The meat strips had great taste but were really not a good cut of meet. Tons of fat and tendons because some prices I couldn’t even tear apart.
The coffee tastes good and it was strong.
Overall good place. It’s small but cozy.

Good place to try Ethiopian food. Delicious and healthy with some spices. Very fresh injera( Ethiopian flat bread), different vegetables and meat sauce. Be prepared to eat meal with your hands, it’s quite very fan and tasty. Do not expect great service, they have to learn that. Will be pleasant to have better quality water glasses. Any place I go, specifically for food I expect to use a clean washroom, it tells me a lot about food business. In this case they should install fun or better ventilation. Otherwise, all the smell travels around eating area … 🥴 I’ve noticed many people take out food.

The service was attentive and efficient. I like the indoor-outdoor set up they have in the summer and the restaurant is warm and spacious. The food was very good. Everything we got was vegetarian and they have a fair amount of vegan options. Their wine options are very limited, though and the wines are of poor quality. I ordered a martini and while what they brought me was drinkable, it barely resembled what I have to come expect a martini to taste like.

It’s been a while I had Ethiopean food and I took my friend from out of town to impress her with their amazing platter. Ordered veg +meat combo platter. My friend was impressed. It was around $62 including 1 soft drink and there was leftover.,
However My knowlege of Ethiopean food is very shallow, I only know some names such as “Tibs”( meat fried with butter, garlic , onion & pepper), “Injera”(fermented flat bread) “Doro Wat” “Awaze”(sauce), etc. Their menu description in English was very confusing. Almost all the meat dishes had different names but they were mostly sauteed with butter, garlic, onion & pepper. Wait staff was trying to explain that there are various options of meat such as spicy, non spicy, ground meat version, etc. but I was not even sure, I was served with what I actually chose.
For example, if you look at #60 =, only difference I see is one is served on sizzling plate. However their names are completely different.
60. ChachA
Charbroiled beef tender seasoned with spices, onion, garlic, red pepper, green pepper, ginger, rosemary, served with Injera and green salad (It comes with a special sizzling pot).
61. DereK Tibes
Charbroiled beef tender seasoned with spices, onion, garlic, ginger, green & red peppers, rosemary, served with Injera and green salad.
Experience was overall great but I with they had better menu description.

Food that feels like home! Flavourful, healthy food, with good variety and good portions! We had chicken & rice, and the vegetable platter with injera, which were excellent. Our server was nice and helpful and the owner was very kind and hospitable! The potatoes and carrots were also super delicious, warm and hearty. Wonderful and authentic Ethiopian restaurant!! Will definitely come back again.

An AWESOME restaurant with a very solid burger, atmosphere, and top notch service.
Went here on a Friday night date and ordered the Monday I'm in Love Burger ($23), a brisket sandwich ($21), and some drinks. The menu and drinks change quite often, so they won't be the same each week!
The burger was absolutely phenomenal, with a good ratio of ingredients and toppings. Nothing felt too overpowering and the burger itself was very flavorful. My girlfriend's sandwich was also very tasty, with tender brisket that melted in your mouth.
Admittedly, the fries were not so great as they were quite overcooked. I was asked about the quality of the food and although I didn't want to be a Karen about it, I told them about the fries. The staff was extremely understanding and apologetic for this and decided to give me a beer on the house!
Overall, some fantastic staff and service, lively atmosphere, and delicious main entrees. Please come here and give this place a try!

Great burger and beer selection, but be prepared for a wait!
I had a pretty good burger here and really enjoyed their wide variety of beers. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Just be aware that I waited for a bit more than 30 minutes on a Friday night. Still worth checking out, especially if you're not in a rush!

This is, by far, the best restaurant in Toronto.
They have specials almost every day which include a range of plates, burgers, and breakfast options.
The Wren doesn’t specialize in pub food, it specializes in making good food at all times. They have an assortment of options and specials that range from all culinary styles.
Drinks menu is great! They have tons of local wines and beers along with a great staff to make you cocktails.
The staff…. Perfect in every single way.
Go early, split a bunch plates, expect a bit of a wait, and most importantly, enjoy.

Great place to try Ethiopian food for the first time! My personal favourites were the Cha Cha Tibs and Doro Wat. Their menu has a ton of variety and everything tasted great. Be aware that this spot turns into a club/lounge after 10pm and you can only be seated if you purchase bottle service. Going forward I’d definitely come earlier in the day since the music was a little too loud and the lights were too dim for me to fully enjoy the food. I’d also recommend keeping your group 4-5 people as it gets difficult to share off one plate passed that.

First time trying Eriterian/ Ethiopian food and it was pretty yummy. The restaurant itself though was extremely dark and loud which made it hard to interact with my friends and see the food i was eating. The food was tasty and flavoured well.

I am not Ethiopian/ Eritrean, but this food makes me WISH I WAS. Oh my gosh, you must try the Doro Wot it is something out of this world!!! The customer service is nice, they sometimes play loud music, and there is lots of seating space. 10/10 recommend !!! I also love the Christian Orthodox art on the walls

For me, Habesha (Ethiopian, Eritrean) food is comfort food (par excellence). It never fails to bring joy in happiness or consolation in sadness. Such was the case with Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant. From the first moment, I was greeted with joy by the waitress Kal. She took the time to review the menu together and took the initiative to make a few adjustments to the Wazema Platter to accommodate my tastes in meat and vegetables. Seeing my interest in Ethiopian art & music, Kal explained the meaning behind the various works of art on the walls (especially the stunning stained glass-like works of Afewerk Tekle - አፈወርቅ ተክሌ). The food itself was prepared to perfection. The meat was well-seasoned, tender, wonderful texture; the vegetables were subtle and delicate. The injera, itself, struck a wonderful balance - neither too sour, nor bland - just right. At the end of the meal, Kal further spoke about the beauty of Ethiopia: Axum, Lalibela, Gondar, Ras Dashen.
My 2 hours at Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant were a taste of paradise. May God grant that I return, and that everyone may go to discover this treasure.
Thank you Kal, thank you wait staff, thank you chefs - አመሰግናለሁ

I come here with my Ethiopian friend when she comes to visit. This place is so cozy. Ethiopian cuisine with a bar like atmosphere in the front. The service is amazing and the food... omg so phenomenal. I've been to Ethiopian restaurants in many other cities but this is by far the best food and the best vibe. I find other places intimidating because there usually isn't any physical menu and you have to order in Amharic (Ethiopian dialect) but Blue Nile menus is so easy to navigate with explanations in english.
