5 Star Rating I had the Atlantic oysters and the fish stew and both were excellent. The flavor of the broth in the stew was so delicious— it tasted really rich and complex, but didn’t overwhelm all of the fresh seafood

4 Star Rating Follow @bredgyeats for more food reviews and posts! Each grain in this risotto was cooked to a perfect al dente texture that absorbed the sweet, umami seafood wine broth, with a distinct but subtle aroma of saffron in each bite. The chunks of salmon, whitefish, squid, shrimp and mussels are a mix of heterogeneity that makes each bite different and exciting, which highlights the seafood's natural flavours.

5 Star Rating Adega has been in the Toronto scene serving delicious Portuguese cuisine for eternity and there is a reason for that, this place is just that great. Impecable white linen service and fresh delicious food that will delight anyone. We came here for lunch and that was an awesome decision. I highly recommend this restaurant nestled on Elm Street.

5 Star Rating I ordered the grilled squid as my main, and ordered a caramel flan (?) for dessert. The squid was perfectly seasoned, and the grilled vegetables were excellent. My only complaint is with respect to the greens beneath the squid - they were too salty for my tastes. The dessert was very solid - I had asked the server for a dessert that wasn't too sweet and wasn't too heavy, and I thought this dessert met those requirements. The overall atmosphere of this restaurant felt very classic. I noticed there were a lot of older patrons seated at the other tables. The service here is very good. Dishes came out promptly, tables were cleared within minutes, and I did not need to signal the waiter at all in order to receive the dessert menu or to ask for the bill.

4 Star Rating Always a great outing at The Senator! Wonderful selection of hot beverages, but we all miss the milkshakes. The pancakes used to better, as well. Now, they are a little too doughy and dense, whereas they were lighter with a slight crisp of caramelization on the outsides previously. Service was very good, but everything took a very long time to get orders in and get food and drinks. Otherwise would've been 5 stars across the board! Will definitely be back again!

4 Star Rating I came on a weekday night and it was pretty busy, but not loud. The food was great value and flavour for the price, and Salad King is my new go-to when I don't know where to eat in the area! The curry was delicious and filling, and I recommend the chicken satay skewers as an appetizer - the peanut sauce really makes the dish pop! The waitress was nice and came to refill our water and check in often. Overall a great place if you're a student or go with a group of friends with good pricing and lots of seating!

The Islamic noodles had a rich, warm blend of spices and tender noodles, making it hearty and satisfying. To top it off, the mango sticky rice was the perfect dessert—sweet, creamy, and refreshing. 4 Star Rating IntSalad King, located on the second floor on the west side of Yonge Street, just north of Dundas, is a spacious and casual Thai restaurant that impresses with its wide variety of dishes and generous portions. The menu caters to diverse preferences, including vegetarians, with dishes made from fresh ingredients and packed with delicious flavors. During my visit, I enjoyed the vegetarian Glass Noodles, which were both flavorful and satisfyingly portioned. The restaurant's layout is versatile, offering seating options to suit any occasion. Whether you’re dining solo at the window or bar, sharing a meal at a table, or relaxing in a booth with friends, there’s a comfortable spot for everyone. This flexibility makes Salad King a great choice for both small and large groups. In addition to the appealing food and welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant delivers excellent value. The pricing is fair, and the staff are accommodating and friendly, adding to the overall experience. In summary, Salad King is a dependable option for those seeking tasty, well-prepared Thai cuisine in a relaxed and spacious setting. 5 Star Rating This was our second visit to Donatello Restaurant this year, and it's easily become one of our go-to spots in Toronto for dinner. Each time the servers were incredibly accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was top-notch from start to finish. We enjoyed a delightful meal featuring the peppercorn steak, perfectly cooked lamb chops, salmon, tender grilled calamari, and a fresh, flavorful Caprese salad. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We look forward to returning every time we're in Toronto—Donatello never disappoints!

3 Star Rating Visited the restaurant today for celebrating a birthday. The staff experience wasn’t great. Had to request for a better spot 3 times before a decent one was offered, even though the restaurant was pretty empty the whole time we were there. For placing the order the server insisted on placing all the food order at once as they were expecting a big group later. This to me is rushing us to order, eat and then leave. Tried the eggplant goat cheese antipasti and the mushroom noodles, both were good not great. Overall perhaps due to the restaurant’s 35 year old history they have built a regular clientele and serve them well. But for today’s higher standards of service and guest empathy this place falls short. I wish them best but not planning to visit again.

5 Star Rating We always go back to Donatello when in Toronto. Food is always good and service too. We had appetizers of bruschetta and calamari. They were both very good. They gave us fresh bread to start and asked if we wanted more after we finished them. My husband had the veal in some sauce with pasta, one of the kids had the chicken breast with prosciutto and pasta, the other had the lobster pasta special and I had the calamari with pasta. We had the tiramisu and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious. Will go again next time.

2 Star Rating We went as a work function which presented us with a limited menu. I selected the Veal Marsala. The meat was not great, but we are a large group and it may have sat. Something very apparent was that my order is wrong. I checked my co-workers, and everybody that got Veal had their order wrong. The menu said all entree come with vegetables and potatoes. I was expecting mash potatoes and some squash. What did I get? Penne in a cream sauce. Even more interesting is my neighbors salmon. It looked more like chicken. They also received pasta and not the entree potatoes and vegetables. A person who ordered steak was the only one with a correct order.

5 Star Rating Stumbled upon this gem while strolling along Yonge Street...while taking in the vibe of downtown...a pleasant surprise it was, full of atmosphere once inside...which I couldn't tell from the street. It was very lively and busy...and the only place was available for me to sit was the bar, which was great too...very popular with their own brewery of beers on tap as some patrons came specifically for the beer. This pub seems like a place that has lots of repeats and I definitely will be one now...the menu is varied and some good selections of food to choose from, best part the prices is quite affordable too. I chose the fish 🌮 tacos, so delicious and fresh, beer is not the only thing they serve, cocktails are great choices as well, service was friendly and welcoming...I left feeling really good about this find...will be back!

4 Star Rating 3 Brasseurs in Toronto is a fantastic spot, especially when you're on the hunt for a late-night beer. We found ourselves there around 1:00 a.m., craving a drink, and this place did not disappoint. The beer was fresh and delicious, brewed to perfection, and exactly what we needed. Although we didn't get to try the food since the kitchen was closed, the overall experience was still great. The hospitality was top-notch, and the ambiance of the place is simply awesome. Located right in front of the Eaton Centre and at the heart of the square, the vintage architecture adds a unique charm to the whole experience. I can't wait to return and experience it again, hopefully when the kitchen is open, so I can taste the food as well. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

5 Star Rating This place gives off an instant cozy vibe when you walk in. Service was super friendly. Blueberry pancakes are an enormous portion. Our server told us he’s only seen 3 people finish the whole thing. Full English is delicious (though I wished there were more mushrooms, because I love mushrooms). The sausage is different than American style breakfast sausage taste. It has a more coarse grind which was interesting, and herb taste which I couldn’t identify. Washrooms are upstairs, past an extra room where a group of people were cheering at a soccer game playing on a TV.

5 Star Rating Follow @bredgyeats for more food! The Sunday special truly lives up to its name, making me forget about all the woes and responsibilities for Monday. This feast is a beautifully roasted beef striploin, cooked to an ultra tender and juicy medium rare and drowned in a red wine gravy made from the beef drippings, for a richer, slightly sweet addition to the beef. My first time having Yorkshire pudding has me immediately hooked. The crisp exterior contrasts the airy and fluffy interior, with a fragrant eggy aroma and lots of surface area to soak up the gravy. Each bite was always so exciting from the sweet parsnip puree, roasted potatoes, honeyed carrots, and braised cabbage, a refreshingly sweet palate cleanser. Also couldn't skip the scotch egg with piccalilli, which is also my first time with it. It has a gentle acidity to balance the sweet honey mustard, with cauliflower, pepper and shallots inside that balance the savory taste of the scotch egg. The crust on the scotch egg is exquisite, with a satisfyingly crispy texture and a moist porky bite mixed with fennel seeds, black pepper and other spices that are elevated by the jammy richness of the egg yolk.

4 Star Rating *Jan 2025 edit: I ordered the Sunday Roast dinner a 2nd time, and this time it was a bit dry and overcooked.* My absolute favorite British pub in the city of Toronto. The old brick walls, pictures of Man United Greats, and maps of the UK really teleport you back to a pub on Denman Street. We came for the Sunday roast dinner, and it was absolutely perfect. The yorkshire pudding was fluffy and crispy, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the roasted potatoes were cooked so well you would think they were deep-fried! Not to mention, the Guiness was poured well as well! Overall, a must visit spot if you're missing the UK or want to watch an EPL match with your mates.

4 Star Rating We had a super nice brunch at Queen & Beavers, which is located right in front of the Chelsea. It has a very nice interior, and especially the wooden floor gave me a real feeling of „home“. If you look for crazy cappuccino matcha oatmilk combos you are not at the right place. Instead it feels like at my moms: you get a cute little mug with filter coffee and milk aside. Simply awesome! We had egg benedict with avocado, which was super delicious. The avocado was fresh, the egg at the perfect moment, and the presentation with the salad also really inviting. My dish had a strong note of lemon, which likely came from the avocado cream. This was a bit too much in my opinion. Service was really friendly, and prices are fine for a brunch. Be aware: Queen and Beaver shows footy (soccer). Premier League was on today.

5 Star Rating Barberian’s Steakhouse is a true Toronto icon for good reason! The food and service are absolutely top-notch, a must-visit for steak lovers. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, and the lobster cocktail was the ideal indulgent starter (we ended up ordering one for desert as well). Their own unique flair is evident through many aspects of the dining experience- the pictures and artifacts which adorn the walls, as well as their iconic side dish: giant onion rings - crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside, a fun and alternative to a classic side. While the prices reflect the high quality, they are reasonable given the exceptional experience. If you’re looking for a classic steakhouse experience with unmatched attention to detail, Barberian’s is the place to be!

4 Star Rating Nice if you're looking for more of a fine dining experience, but like most steakhouses the value for money just isn't quite there for me. Was worth going to once to experience though, as the steaks are cooked really nicely. My 16 oz bone in rib steak was cooked perfectly, albeit a little light on the seasoning. Would not recommend the mashed potatoes as they are an upcharge and honestly was not very good. Service was phenomenal. The gentlemen that work here were very attentive and friendly. They also were nice enough to provide a delicious slice of cheesecake for our friend after they heard it was his birthday. Atmosphere was pretty neat. Nice low key vibe with classic decor.

3 Star Rating I cannot be more disappointed by both the food and the service. Got the dry aged bone-in New York strip with [limited] label on the menu. Ordered it in medium well but came closer to medium. Taste wise was very plain and really felt the meat was not up to quality expected. Sautéed mushroom cannot be more salty. Salmon steak came very tasteless. House salad may win in portion but not freshness and flavor. Tried their house red wine, not bad. The staff who served my table came with a whatever attitude.

5 Star Rating I recently dined at Barberian’s Steak House and while the steak was exceptional—perfectly cooked and of top-quality—the service didn’t quite match the restaurant’s reputation. 5 Star Rating It feels like the chef and team genuinely enjoy cooking; the food is fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of curry, but the curry here has an elegant touch with a distinct aroma and flavor. The noodle soup was fantastic; even without adding much spice, it was rich and flavorful, like a comforting hug in a bowl. I've visited this restaurant before and tried different dishes, and I'm consistently impressed by the quality and taste. This time, I tried the buffet, and it was really good. The service was exceptional, attentive, patient, efficient, kind, and warm. The staff genuinely care about their customers. I had crème brûlée for dessert. I think it was coconut-flavored. It was okay. They really put a lot of effort into the interior. It had a really nice vibe, like I was in a place other than Toronto.

4 Star Rating This place used to have the best pad thai in the city. They seem to have recently changed the recipe and now it tastes overly sweet and salty, not even remotely close to the old taste. The curries here are still great and the staff are among the most accommodating I’ve seen. They treat you like family. The atmosphere is fantastic too. So peaceful and luxurious looking. I would definitely go here for a date night and order the Seafood Satay, Tamarind Curry, Emerald Curry and Coconut rice. My only real qualm is that the portions are small for the price. When this place had the best pad thai in the city I could ignore it but now I would give it a 4/5 overall.

5 Star Rating Really enjoyed the lunch buffet (weekday unlimited tasting menu). I thought they had a good selection of food, including made to order noodle soup! Our favourite items were the Chicken Phad See Eew, Chicken Yellow Curry, and the noodle soup (you have a choice of chicken or vegetable broth). They also had a selection of vegetable dishes, fried items, phad thai, and a bean salad. The restaurant also has an à la carte menu. I felt like the food taste wasn't sacrificed despite being buffet style. For dessert, there were a few small items and fruit. I loved the baked cassava cake, it had a mochi-like texture and wasn't too sweet! For $24, I felt like it was a great price and you get a variety of Thai dishes to try. Service was attentive to take away finished plates and refill water. The washrooms are shared with a nearby spa in the lower levels, but they're well-maintained. When you enter off Elm, however, there isn't always a staff member to greet you and it may take a few minutes to be seated. Would still recommend!
