I ordered the grilled squid as my main, and ordered a caramel flan (?) for dessert. The squid was perfectly seasoned, and the grilled vegetables were excellent. My only complaint is with respect to the greens beneath the squid - they were too salty for my tastes.
The dessert was very solid - I had asked the server for a dessert that wasn't too sweet and wasn't too heavy, and I thought this dessert met those requirements.
The overall atmosphere of this restaurant felt very classic. I noticed there were a lot of older patrons seated at the other tables.
The service here is very good. Dishes came out promptly, tables were cleared within minutes, and I did not need to signal the waiter at all in order to receive the dessert menu or to ask for the bill.

I had the Atlantic oysters and the fish stew and both were excellent. The flavor of the broth in the stew was so delicious— it tasted really rich and complex, but didn’t overwhelm all of the fresh seafood

All the dishes we ordered was good. Especially the grilled squid. However the pastel de nata was served cold.

Decent Portuguese fare, nothing extraordinary. Fairly humble food dressed nicely. The risotto is watery but I think that's just a Portuguese thing at this point. Good flavor regardless!

A beautiful, cozy restaurant, this is actually Toronto's oldest, established in the 1920s.
We got wine and cosmopolitan for drinks their food was good too but they restaurant on too closes pretty early around 8 the bar downstairs on the other hand stays open much longer.

The food is pretty underwhelming for a highly rated place. Neither the egg Benedict nor the French toast stood out in anyway.
Overpriced got what you get so I would not recommend.

I really enjoyed this spot for brunch and coffee. The Senator Restaurant offers good variety of breakfast and brunch options. The egg benedict that I ordered along with the homefries side were amazing. Service was also spot on and the waitress was very attentive and the food came our pretty quick. The ambiance and atmosphere were also great.

What a delightful place for brunch. Staff was so polite and friendly. The food service was quick. The food was hot and delicious.
Had eggs benedict - salmon. Veg option with Avocado.
Peach pancakes- with some fruit, syrup, butter n whipped cream.
There is a reason why this place has been going strong after so many decades. Please visit, highly recommended. My new favourite for brunch in the city.

We stopped by for lunch as we walked Queen Street and wanted to give it a shot. Trust me when I say the food was so fresh, so tasty and the servers were very kind. I’m going to be back and bring more friends. Highly recommend this place especially for yummy lunch specials!

The Islamic noodles were great, felt a bit close to a red curry and panang curry style of sauce over noodles. Portion was very big.
The mango salad is also very good value and recommended for sharing.
The fried rice was tasty and the rice they use is exceptional as it is very soft but not mushy. The flavors and umami were on point.

I have been coming here for years and continue to get the same dishes. It always taste consistent and I have made so many memories here. Highly recommend the seafood fried rice and Thai Islamic noodles. Service has always been great here too, love this gem.

Salad King has been around for such a long and im amazed that the quality of their food had not gone down despite the demand being much higher for them nowadays. Fresh tasty and as spicy (or mild) as you want it, if you want great thai food for pretty affordable prices THIS IS THE PLACE YALL!

Was in the city for the Pride Parade and decided to stop by Salad King for lunch along with two other people. I had eaten here once before with some friends and had a pleasant experience and I definitely do not regret coming back again today!
We had stopped by a few minutes after opening and were seated immediately and served drinks. I really want to commend the service we got before anything else. Our server (not sure about the name but she was the kind Asian lady with a short black haircut!) was extremely attentive and friendly.
While I enjoy spice, I may have ordered 1 spice level too high so I ended up going through my glass of water quickly but there was never a single time that I had drunk my glass empty as our server came by frequently to refill our glasses. Especially with the heat outside and our exhaustion from walking through the city, this was very appreciated!
There was also another man (who I assume may have been the manager?) who came by a couple times to have some friendly conversation which was quite nice as well! The two people I visited with were fairly new not just to Ontario, but Canada in general, so I feel like this experience left a positive impression of the people here.
Now when it comes to the food, I did mention that I ordered my dish (The Bankok Stirfry Noodles pictured) a tad bit spicy but that did NOT stop me from finishing the plate. The flavours were excellent from whatever sauce they used to the subtle char of the ingredients from the wok- it was perfect. And the portions were very fair for their price- I’ve had worse “Thai” food for similar prices but this? It’s both authentic and well-worth the price. My uncles who came with me also thoroughly enjoyed their dishes (pictured as well) and were happy about the large portions as they were able to take some home for later!
All-in-all Salad King is a favourite stop of mine whenever I’m in the city and I will always recommend it to people both new and old to the area!! Eating here was one of the highlights of the day for me!

This was our second visit to Donatello Restaurant this year, and it's easily become one of our go-to spots in Toronto for dinner. Each time the servers were incredibly accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was top-notch from start to finish. We enjoyed a delightful meal featuring the peppercorn steak, perfectly cooked lamb chops, salmon, tender grilled calamari, and a fresh, flavorful Caprese salad. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We look forward to returning every time we're in Toronto—Donatello never disappoints!

Visited the restaurant today for celebrating a birthday. The staff experience wasn’t great. Had to request for a better spot 3 times before a decent one was offered, even though the restaurant was pretty empty the whole time we were there.
For placing the order the server insisted on placing all the food order at once as they were expecting a big group later. This to me is rushing us to order, eat and then leave.
Tried the eggplant goat cheese antipasti and the mushroom noodles, both were good not great.
Overall perhaps due to the restaurant’s 35 year old history they have built a regular clientele and serve them well. But for today’s higher standards of service and guest empathy this place falls short.
I wish them best but not planning to visit again.

We always go back to Donatello when in Toronto. Food is always good and service too. We had appetizers of bruschetta and calamari. They were both very good. They gave us fresh bread to start and asked if we wanted more after we finished them. My husband had the veal in some sauce with pasta, one of the kids had the chicken breast with prosciutto and pasta, the other had the lobster pasta special and I had the calamari with pasta. We had the tiramisu and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious. Will go again next time.

We went as a work function which presented us with a limited menu. I selected the Veal Marsala. The meat was not great, but we are a large group and it may have sat. Something very apparent was that my order is wrong.
I checked my co-workers, and everybody that got Veal had their order wrong. The menu said all entree come with vegetables and potatoes. I was expecting mash potatoes and some squash. What did I get? Penne in a cream sauce.
Even more interesting is my neighbors salmon. It looked more like chicken. They also received pasta and not the entree potatoes and vegetables. A person who ordered steak was the only one with a correct order.

Stumbled upon this gem while strolling along Yonge Street...while taking in the vibe of downtown...a pleasant surprise it was, full of atmosphere once inside...which I couldn't tell from the street.
It was very lively and busy...and the only place was available for me to sit was the bar, which was great too...very popular with their own brewery of beers on tap as some patrons came specifically for the beer.
This pub seems like a place that has lots of repeats and I definitely will be one now...the menu is varied and some good selections of food to choose from, best part the prices is quite affordable too.
I chose the fish 🌮 tacos, so delicious and fresh, beer is not the only thing they serve, cocktails are great choices as well, service was friendly and welcoming...I left feeling really good about this find...will be back!

3 Brasseurs in Toronto is a fantastic spot, especially when you're on the hunt for a late-night beer. We found ourselves there around 1:00 a.m., craving a drink, and this place did not disappoint. The beer was fresh and delicious, brewed to perfection, and exactly what we needed.
Although we didn't get to try the food since the kitchen was closed, the overall experience was still great. The hospitality was top-notch, and the ambiance of the place is simply awesome. Located right in front of the Eaton Centre and at the heart of the square, the vintage architecture adds a unique charm to the whole experience.
I can't wait to return and experience it again, hopefully when the kitchen is open, so I can taste the food as well. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Very wonderful place to have a drink right infront of Dundas square. It’s generally crowded on weekends, I tried mango limeade along with coco shrimps which was great. The waitress took her time but was quite funny & cordial.

The Sunday special truly lives up to its name, making me forget about all the woes and responsibilities for Monday. This feast is a beautifully roasted beef striploin, cooked to an ultra tender and juicy medium rare and drowned in a red wine gravy made from the beef drippings, for a richer, slightly sweet addition to the beef. My first time having Yorkshire pudding has me immediately hooked. The crisp exterior contrasts the airy and fluffy interior, with a fragrant eggy aroma and lots of surface area to soak up the gravy. Each bite was always so exciting from the sweet parsnip puree, roasted potatoes, honeyed carrots, and braised cabbage, a refreshingly sweet palate cleanser.
Also couldn't skip the scotch egg with piccalilli, which is also my first time with it. It has a gentle acidity to balance the sweet honey mustard, with cauliflower, pepper and shallots inside that balance the savory taste of the scotch egg. The crust on the scotch egg is exquisite, with a satisfyingly crispy texture and a moist porky bite mixed with fennel seeds, black pepper and other spices that are elevated by the jammy richness of the egg yolk.

Definitely worth a visit.
We tried the full English and were pleasantly surprised. I did expect black pudding and similar more authentic items on the menu for an authentic British experience, but was left lacking a tiny bit.
Pancakes were very fresh. I would visit this place again a month from now just for them. They were so good that they were devoured before we could think about taking a picture.

When I stepped into this restaurant, it was like the time I visited an authentic pub in London. Right down to the types of dishes and utensils. I recommend the BEEF AND ONION PIE. Very tasty!! And their fish and chips is one of their signature items and it too was very good.
One small note. When they are near capacity, they seem to be slightly understaffed. You may need to wait a bit to get some attention.

We had a super nice brunch at Queen & Beavers, which is located right in front of the Chelsea. It has a very nice interior, and especially the wooden floor gave me a real feeling of „home“.
If you look for crazy cappuccino matcha oatmilk combos you are not at the right place. Instead it feels like at my moms: you get a cute little mug with filter coffee and milk aside. Simply awesome!
We had egg benedict with avocado, which was super delicious. The avocado was fresh, the egg at the perfect moment, and the presentation with the salad also really inviting. My dish had a strong note of lemon, which likely came from the avocado cream. This was a bit too much in my opinion.
Service was really friendly, and prices are fine for a brunch.
Be aware: Queen and Beaver shows footy (soccer). Premier League was on today.

Had my 2nd bday dinner in this fancy pub last night. Been in here several times before the pandemic. Feels like Windsor castle😹. Food is still good but better when before the pandemic. Service is good but everything is expensive as usual. $12 for a pint of beer😿. Sunday roast was nice however.

Nice if you're looking for more of a fine dining experience, but like most steakhouses the value for money just isn't quite there for me. Was worth going to once to experience though, as the steaks are cooked really nicely. My 16 oz bone in rib steak was cooked perfectly, albeit a little light on the seasoning. Would not recommend the mashed potatoes as they are an upcharge and honestly was not very good.
Service was phenomenal. The gentlemen that work here were very attentive and friendly. They also were nice enough to provide a delicious slice of cheesecake for our friend after they heard it was his birthday.
Atmosphere was pretty neat. Nice low key vibe with classic decor.

I cannot be more disappointed by both the food and the service. Got the dry aged bone-in New York strip with [limited] label on the menu. Ordered it in medium well but came closer to medium. Taste wise was very plain and really felt the meat was not up to quality expected. Sautéed mushroom cannot be more salty. Salmon steak came very tasteless. House salad may win in portion but not freshness and flavor. Tried their house red wine, not bad. The staff who served my table came with a whatever attitude.

An unforgettable dining experience! The food and wine at this steakhouse were absolutely amazing. I ordered the prime rib, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth, with the seasoning enhancing the natural richness of the meat without overpowering it. The portion was generous, too, making it well worth the price.
The wine selection is top-notch, with knowledgeable staff who helped me pick the perfect pairing to complement my meal. The ambiance is warm and sophisticated, ideal for a special night out. This place is a true gem for steak lovers and anyone who appreciates a high-quality dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

I recently dined at Barberian’s Steak House and while the steak was exceptional—perfectly cooked and of top-quality—the service didn’t quite match the restaurant’s reputation. Our waiter missed a few items from our order, which affected the overall experience. Despite the minor hiccup, the quality of the meat is definitely a standout. If the service improves, this place could be flawless.

We had a dinner at Barbarians to celebrate a special occasion and had such a great experience. When we arrived, they gave us a private dining room and a tour of the wine cellar, along with a history lesson on the restaurant.
We all started with the Caesar salad, Garlic Bread, and Oysters. The Caesar salad was the best I have had. It comes with a piece of pork, which really elevates the dish. The oysters were amazing. The only downside is that they only come with two garnishes: cocktail sauce and horseradish. The garlic bread was also tasteful, and I highly recommend you start with it and the Caesar salad.
For the main dish, I ordered the porterhouse steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions, which was perfectly cooked. The wine selection is very extensive. They even have Magnum bottles, an excellent option if you share wine with four or more people.
For dessert, we all had beignets. They were coated in cinnamon sugar and served with ice cream. They had the right amount of sweetness, a great option to cap off a dinner.
Overall, this is a great place for special occasions. I’m sure you will have a good experience. The service was top-notch, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere of the building takes you back to 19th-century Europe.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The food itself was amazing. I hadn't been there in several years, but I’m happy to see that it is still going strong. I highly recommend visiting this place. My favorite dishes to order are the Grilled Seafood Satay and, for dessert, the Banana Fritter Ice Cream.

It feels like the chef and team genuinely enjoy cooking; the food is fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of curry, but the curry here has an elegant touch with a distinct aroma and flavor. The noodle soup was fantastic; even without adding much spice, it was rich and flavorful, like a comforting hug in a bowl.
I've visited this restaurant before and tried different dishes, and I'm consistently impressed by the quality and taste. This time, I tried the buffet, and it was really good.
The service was exceptional, attentive, patient, efficient, kind, and warm. The staff genuinely care about their customers.
The restaurant quickly got busy, and you could see the happy expressions on everyone’s faces as they enjoyed their meals. The cozy and welcoming energy, along with the thoughtful design and decoration, made me not want to leave 😊

This location is pretty central in Downtown Toronto. The building is history and ample space with 2 levels of seating. Very suitable for large parties as we saw several large corporate party of 10 and families. The menu is extensive with traditional Thai food and some fusion dishes. Curry options including green, yellow and red with various protein options chicken, beef etc. It's family style eating and the portions are perfect for 2 to 3 people. We ordered 3 dishes and rice bowl (which is extra $2 - 3) and we had left overs. Prices are very reasonable for downtown Toronto. Service was a little slow even with a reservation due to the popularity of the restaurant and they had several big parties of patrons. They were attentive and tried very hard to get people moving to seat those waiting. Overall a really great Thai food destination.

Really enjoyed the lunch buffet (weekday unlimited tasting menu). I thought they had a good selection of food, including made to order noodle soup! Our favourite items were the Chicken Phad See Eew, Chicken Yellow Curry, and the noodle soup (you have a choice of chicken or vegetable broth). They also had a selection of vegetable dishes, fried items, phad thai, and a bean salad. The restaurant also has an à la carte menu. I felt like the food taste wasn't sacrificed despite being buffet style.
For dessert, there were a few small items and fruit. I loved the baked cassava cake, it had a mochi-like texture and wasn't too sweet!
For $24, I felt like it was a great price and you get a variety of Thai dishes to try. Service was attentive to take away finished plates and refill water. The washrooms are shared with a nearby spa in the lower levels, but they're well-maintained. When you enter off Elm, however, there isn't always a staff member to greet you and it may take a few minutes to be seated. Would still recommend!

They don't have many options (about 16 including fruits and dessert) for lunch buffet and the food area is not spacious so there was a long line waiting to grab food. I'd suggest you come after 12:40pm to avoid waiting in line. Regarding the food, I recommend pineapple fried rice, fried zucchini and egg, Pad Thai, and pineapple jelly. Their steamed fish is a bit salty. Fried chicken and fried eggplant are greasy to us but they are still worth a try.
Overall, it's a very decent restaurant for Thai food buffet considering the service, food quality, and price.
