5 Star Rating Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!! Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

5 Star Rating Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

4 Star Rating First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls. Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option). I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

4 Star Rating El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

4 Star Rating Sunset Grill - if you want a decent, good breakfast with a throwback, cozy environment, then this is where you want to go. Located steps away from Coxwell subway station, this Sunset Grill is a local favourite spot. Like many similar places, Sunset Grill serves your standard breakfast fare. You get your eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, choice of bread - you get the idea. What we go to Sunset Grill for though, are their home fries. These home fries are not the kind that come pre-made in a bag from your freezer. NOPE. These home fries come from real potatoes, cut, and done right on the stove. Bite into them and you can taste actual potato with that chew. I've been to a few other breakfast restaurants where the home fries taste more like that powdery stuff that comes out of the freezer - not my fave so Sunset Grill is the way to go for me. There are lots of different breakfast combinations to choose from. Show up before 10am and they even have morning specials so if you're an early bird, give that a go as well. Now, a few more comments about the food that we had. Overall, taste is what you'd expect - a good hearty breakfast. If you ask for over easy eggs, they will come to you over easy. Scrambled is scrambled. The breakfast sausages taste good - what you'd expect. Perhaps the only thing to mention is that the bacon is on the saltier side but definitely crispy. Bread - you get your choice of white, brown, or rye. Featured in the images is the brown bread. The restaurant itself is actually bigger than you'd think given the storefront. There are 2 levels and plenty of seating. At the time I went, customers could choose where they wanted to sit. Before ending this off, I have to give a shout out to the staff that work at this Sunset Grill. I've been a few times now and seen the same faces and they are a lovely bunch. Smiles for all the customers and you can tell they know who the regulars are. I have to say, I appreciate the atmosphere of this Sunset Grill. It's just easy, it's chill, and there's a bit of a throwback to times now past which I find nostalgic and homey. It may not be the most modern joint in the area but I appreciate its charm with good people and good food. They also serve omelettes and burgers which I plan to try next time I go. Give it a go if you're in the area.

5 Star Rating Sunset Grill delivers perfectly on its promise of being a greasy spoon. Friendly staff, healthy portions and unbelievably quick service. 5 Star Rating My first time at this pub/restaurant and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was just looking for a place to pass some time and have a quick dinner while my daughter was at work. The service was top notch. The food was all freshly prepared and delicious. I had the chicken on a bun with a side of Caesar salad. The wine was good. The atmosphere was friendly and seems like there are locals who frequent the establishment which is always a good sign! Turkey dinner is on the menu for Thursday for American Thanksgiving.. Xi might just have to come back!!

3 Star Rating Went to this location. The service was good staff is friendly. I was there at night only 2 people working for a 24hr location but the store itself was dirty food on the floor tables not cleaned and the most disgusting thing is the sinks they have next to the service counter. More staff would be recommended to help clean the location I did notice the manager constantly washing her hands after cooking and serving people 👍 but wearing gloves would be better.

4 Star Rating Honestly, if you go to an A and W, it's a franchise so you know what kind of food you're going to get. It's fast food but for me, I like the quality of their standard burgers more than other places. I also like their breakfast options. What I have noticed though is that not all A & Ws do breakfast well. I've been to locations where my over easy eggs are overdone grey and my bacon doesn't exist. This review in particular is for the breakfast at the Coxwell and Danforth location. Images show one of their standard breakfast options with choice of eggs, bacon, and bread. I appreciated that my overeasy eggs were in fact, over easy! Bacon was thin (standard across this franchise) but it was cooked well and not burnt. Bread was up to expectation. What I appreciated is that the staff present that day were polite and professional and seemed to have a genuine rapport with one another and with customers. So, if you're looking for a quick bite that's relatively affordable, you can give this A &W location a try.

4 Star Rating By now, I think most people are quite familiar with Subway and all the different types of sub sandwiches you can get. This Subway location is right near Coxwell Subway station, Coxwell and Danforth. I see mixed reviews and as with most franchises, I think it depends on when you go, who's working that day, and all those other factors. Considering all that, on my visit, the staff were professional and I received my subs in good order. Toppings were running low when I got there but staff had no issues getting more ingredients when I inquired. Featured in the images are the Canadian club and Italian BMT. As you can probably tell, we like a lot of vegetables on our subs! For anyone who has never been to a Subway before, you can choose the sub sandwich you want, choose the type of bread you want, and add vegetable toppings and sauces to really customize the sub sandwich to your liking. Subway also has rice bowls, wraps, and cookies as well. Not gonna lie, their cookies are pretty phenomenal (though not featured here). Some of their newer toppings are fun - try the fried onions. They add a nice crunch to the sub. This comment is for Subway in general and has no bearing on this particular location. One thing I get annoyed by is the way the Subway menu is now featuring certain sub sandwiches. Some of their classics like the Italian BMT are really buried on the menu. Overall, if you're looking for a quick food fix, you can try give this Subway location a try.

2 Star Rating 2.5/5 Ordered via SkipTheDishes and went to go picked up. My order wasn’t recognized in the system and wasn’t ready for it to be picked up. They had to make my order which took around 15-20 mins. They did apologize and gave me a Diet Coke, but made a comment and insisted I took a water bottle instead. It was a kind gesture regardless. Overall the serving size was pretty small and the meat was cold. I ordered the jerk chicken and the regular mild chicken but frankly they tasted the same. Their service did make up for it, but I would never be going back

Kitfo was well seasoned and spiced, while the tibs had a much more buttery, aromatic flavour. Chacha had a caramelized onion and black pepper sauce which had lots of umami with a rich sweetness, and a slight lamb gameyness. All meats were well done so it was a little tough and dry. Injera wasn't overly sour either and was quite nice to eat.

5 Star Rating # 4.5/5 Stars: A Hidden Gem for Coffee and Venezuelan Delights! I stumbled upon this charming coffee and food haven, and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy vibe that makes you feel like you're in a friend's living room. The Venezuelan cuisine is authentic and mouth-watering. From the arepas to the tequeños, every bite is a flavor explosion that will leave you craving more. If I have one quibble, it's that the prices are a tad steep. Portions are not big. However, the quality of the food and drinks, combined with the warm atmosphere, makes it well worth the splurge. Overall, this hidden gem is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. Be prepared to fall in love with the flavors and atmosphere! # Highlights: - Authentic Venezuelan cuisine - Cozy and inviting atmosphere - High-quality coffee selection - Generous portions and beautiful presentation - Knowledgeable and passionate staff # Lowlights: - Prices are a bit higher than average # Recommendations: - Try the arepas – you won't regret it! - Ask the baristas for coffee recommendations – they're happy to help! - Be prepared for a cozy and intimate atmosphere – perfect for dates or catch-ups with friends!

5 Star Rating We had a lovely meal at Pomarosa this past weekend! We came for lunch around 1 and had no trouble getting in. It was really hard to choose something off of the menu as everything sounds delicious. The food did not disappoint. I would highly recommend the cheese and guava empanada, as well as the carnitas and pabellon arepas. Next time I'm coming back for the ceviche. We're meat eaters (and there is a lot of tasty meat dishes on the menu) but came with a vegan and I was impressed by how vegan-friendly the menu was. Child-friendly too! There is a kid's meal on the menu, and a kid's hot chocolate which made our toddler very happy. There was also plenty of room to fold up and store our wagon, and I noticed the restaurant had high chairs for families with younger children. The staff did not seem to be perturbed by the presence of children and we very much appreciated the chill vibes. Great spot, great food, chill staff, fun music, vegan and child-friendly - what's not to love?
