My family and I have always wanted to try the American style breakfast, and this place just hits the spot. The location was convenient for us as it is nearby our hotel. We had breakfast here for two days in a row.
Absolutely love the retro diner vibe, and the food is delicious too. Big portions and very flavorful, we especially love their maple syrup! The server was attentive and really lovely, making sure that we are enjoying our meal as well as refilling our drinks.
Would love to eat here again next time we visit Toronto.

Really enjoyed my visit to Fran's. Great menu, everything tasted amazing and we had a great server. I'll definitely be back!
The big breakfast is good, so is the chorizo hash! Pancakes are fab too!

Hands down one of the BEST meals we've had in Toronto! The pancakes were buttery and fluffy and melted in our mouths. The homefries were seasoned to perfection. The bacon and sausage were flavorful, too. If you're looking for a great affordable breakfast, Fran's is the place to go!

Fran’s restaurant has a classic diner feel. The food and service were good. We had burgers, but they’re known for serving breakfast all day.

If you're looking for a classic Toronto eatery that serves up delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, then Frans Restaurant and Bar is the perfect spot for you.
Located on the corner of Yonge and College streets, this venerable spot has been a fixture in the city for over 50 years.
The restaurant is known for its extensive menu, which features a wide variety of sandwiches, steaks, burgers, and salads. There's something for everyone here, whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a hearty meal.
I recently dined at Frans Restaurant and Bar with my family, and we were impressed with the quality of the food.
We started off with the poutine, which was perfectly cooked and generously topped with cheese curds and gravy.
For our main courses, I had the corned beef and eggs and my spouse had the mushroom with eggs.
The service at Frans Restaurant and Bar is also nice and friendly. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and they make sure that you have everything you need.
We had a great experience at Frans Restaurant and Bar. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Here are some additional highlights of Frans Restaurant and Bar:
1. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
2. It is a great place to go for a late-night snack or meal.
3. The restaurant has a full bar and a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails.
4. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

It's the best nachos restaurant!!! 🤩🌟🌟🌟👍 The nachos I ordered instead of burgers at the recommendation of my friend was really fantastic. Not only did they give me a lot of meat, it was satisfying just to dip it in fresh guacamole and chips. Add guacamole!!! 🥑🥑🥑💪
Unfortunately, wine was not my cup of tea. If I had ordered beer, I would have been more satisfied.

You must come during HAPPY HOUR. Crazy cheap drinks and snacks. The food is okay, it's normal. The drinks are okay as well, but they're just so cheap which is why people keep coming! They're served in cute fish bowls too. Really great place for a cute dinner before going out, you can pregame here :)

This place has extremely good prices!
Our server was very nice and accommodated our group of 14 by providing individual bills, which we really appreciated. They have a 3-hour seating time, and gratuity is included.
One downside is the bathroom, it seems completely neglected. The stairs leading to it need to be cleaned and disinfected. You can smell urine as soon as you start walking down, and once inside, there was no paper towel. The sink was clogged with leftover water from previous use, which was quite gross.
Other than that, the restaurant is a great spot to meet with friends and have a good time.

A pitcher for $11 something is all I need. I visited during happy hour and they had some nice deals for $6.50, like sliders or potato skins. 100% worth the visit.

This place is my go to spot in Toronto. With a quick subway to this bar from union, I find myself going here lots and it never disappoints! My girl and I went here a few weeks back and as if they already don’t deal with enough drunk college kids, they had to deal with our drink spilling and indecisive thoughts on the great menu. But you can’t blame us considering the drinks were all tequila with a splash of sprite for less than $10, and it truly compliments the cheap yet very good food. We will definitely be back for more!

The food was a 10/10 and the drinks were also unique and tasted great. A very fun vibe to this place. Atmosphere lost a star only because it was very loud. But honestly the interior was so cool and welcoming, a definite must-see. The service was top tier too, they made sure to celebrate my husband's birthday in a way that was more comfortable for introverts (without all the crowd singing) and then took a Polaroid picture of us together as a memento for our night 🩷

Absolutely love the familiar feel and delicious food at Kinka! It’s one of a kind. The menu is perfectly crafted for a small or big group to enjoy a shared lunch or dinner. The place is so beautifully designed with wooden interior decor that’s cozy in the winter and fresh in the summer. Also, they do great group surprises from the sake bomb to the birthday songs. MUST GO!

The overall experience was okay. We made a reservation, but still had to wait, though the manager kindly offered us a free drink while we waited, which was appreciated.
We ordered the smoked duck and tempura (see attached photo), but the portion sizes were surprisingly small. Then, we waited a long time for our main dish, which turned out to be underwhelming. The server mentioned that it was shareable, but even with that in mind, we found the portions to be quite lacking.
We understand the restaurant was busy, but the food just didn’t seem to justify the wait or the price.

Went for a birthday dinner before a TMU basketball game and it was great! Had a group of 9 people and we were seated comfortably and quickly.
The happy hour menu was a hit, the chicken appetizer (not in photos it got eaten fast) was delicious! We also got a pitcher of mojitos which was a nice happy hour menu option.
Their birthday celebration was really sweet - love the giant Polaroid photo!
Overall the food was good and the experience was nice.

Nice variety of tasty Japanese food. Great atmosphere. Good option if you are after convening with friends around small, tasty plates. The place lacks main courses imo (or it’s mostly carb heavy). Great for a good time, not so much if you like to leave full 😅

Tasty Pizza, But Needs Improvement in Service and Hygiene
I recently visited Pizza Pizza and would give them 4 stars. The pizza was tasty, with a good balance of flavors and a nice, crispy crust. It's clear they know how to make a great pizza.
However, there's room for improvement in customer service and hygiene. The staff could be more attentive and friendly, as the service felt a bit rushed and impersonal. Additionally, the cleanliness of the dining area could be better maintained.
Overall, the pizza is worth the visit, but I hope they work on enhancing the customer experience and cleanliness in the future.

"I had the pleasure of trying this pizza, and it was absolutely fantastic! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside. The tomato sauce was fresh and tangy, and the cheese was melted to perfection—smooth and flavorful. The toppings were generous and fresh, with each bite bursting with flavor. Overall, it was an unforgettable pizza experience, and I can't wait to return for more!"

I've been to this place a few times over the course of the past couple years. We always got a quick and friendly service, and food and drinks were good. The menu is moderately priced and I would say you will get a good value for your money. Last time we went there we had a larger group, and the server was very accommodating. They also do separate bills, which is nice.
The location is also very convenient, but at the same time I find this place not to be overcrowded.
My only issue was that it happened to be a karaoke night the last time we were there. But that's completely a matter of a preference :-)

Robyn was always available and attentive to our group of 10, even during the busier periods. Atmosphere, drinks and food were great!

The show was a lot of fun, the actors did a pretty great job. They were funny and engaging. I was really disappointed with the food, I honestly just didn’t think it was worth the value. Also ran into a bit of a mishap regarding a dietary restriction where only some of the ingredients were listed on the dish, and I was told after I had already served myself that a dish I put on my plate had an item I was allergic too. Considering that they asked for my name when I first came in, as well as being notified of my allergy, it probably would’ve been best for them to tell me about this before I served myself. The drinks were really overpriced too, I was pretty surprised that not even soft drinks were included considering the price. The desserts were two bite store bought brownies and cupcakes… If you’re going, just go for the show. The food was just not worth the value. I also went with my partner, he had a fun time.

Good experience, food is okay at best. Since it’s called dinner and theatre, I would expect a little more. Drink service was very slow. We had to get the wait staffs attention in order to get drinks. The show was entertaining and the acting was good. It’s a very unique and intimate experience, the actors come around and sit at each table in character and interact with the guest. Some guest get asked to participate by contributing a line or two.

Still the best sushi on the budget in Toronto. I got 2 for $10 because of their end of the day deal! I have been coming back here since 2016!

If you’re looking for some cheap sushi, this is for sure a go to. The rolls were decent but the nigiris doesn’t taste too fresh. But for 11.99 buy one get one free, what can you expect? The food at the price is very good in my opinion. In conclusion, go for the rolls, skip the nigiris.

(Please note some sushi was eaten before picture was taken!) This was honestly some of the best tasting sushi that I could find at such an affordable price!
During the time I went (i.e., weekday evening, around 6 PM), Sushi On The Run had a BOGO Free promo. So I was able to buy two sets for ~$14!
The sushi is very clean tasting, and the fish is nice and fresh. The ratio of rice to fish and other ingredients is really nice, unlike some supermarket sushi that gives too much rice.
I would definitely recommend this as a great pick if you want sushi for a budget, especially if the BOGO free offer is on!

Best takeaway sushi I've had. Very very well priced for the quality and the combos were creatively constructed, making it a bit hard to even choose. Will happily return next time in Toronto!

Having lived in Japan, I know what Sushi is supposed to taste like. I have generally avoided fast food Sushi outside of Japan because I am worried about hygiene and taste. But this place is really good for a reasonable price and fast-food. They don’t offer much variety but the ones they have is really good, hygienic and taste what Sushi is supposed to taste like. I recommend it if you want affordable, quick and good Sushi while you are transiting through college station.

Good ingredients, tasty sauce, but needs more protein. The chicken itself was also oddly mushy, kind of like wet paper pulp.
My first time having freshii in years and I have mixed feelings. It's about as decent as j remember, but maybe it's just this location that definitely didn't do the protein right. Also the daily deals are a bit misleading, as the 7.99 price tag doesn't include protein (around 3 extra bucks).
Flawnson Tong - 2 years ago
This is the best salad bowl I ever had! The portion is way BIGGER than I thought. The sauce is perfect match for it! Yummy!! I am glad they are able to keep the ingredients fresh during this challenging time. I will definitely recommend to my friends and colleagues. Keep it up Freshii on College!

Fast service and friendly staff.
i ordered Pangoa with chicken and it was great. Everything was fresh to the bone and the portion is satisfying and the prices are reasonable.
This branch is small. Few seats available.
Must try the 1$ coffee, its delicious.
Mohamed Mahdi - 6 years ago
They really make healthy food that is very filling and not taste like a cold, barely unfreezed salad. But the complaint of other comments about the lack of protein mix is legit. Not only the protein part is lacking in portion but a "pokii" bowl without fish just feel wrong.

It's a very nice place to have your breakfast or lunch. They have bowls, wraps, soups, burritos, smoothies, etc. I have been there a couple of times and the staff is very friendly. Everything is good and healthy. They have both meat and vegetarian options. You can also pay some extra to get tofu or falafel in your meal. This place is located on a crowded street, and this place is very popular among businesses men and healthy eaters. The place itself is a bit small, but we always had a place to sit. I would recommend it to anyone. I'm addition, they say that there is a $1 coffee; I have never tried it though.

Rolltation is a great fast food restaurant. My review applies to all chains.
While it costs a bit more than other places, the nutrition density is so much higher. The other places also make me feel bloated after eating. At Rolltation, I feel fantastic after eating a Sushi Burrito or Poke Bowl.
Beyond the health benefit, it's simply delicious. There's a good variety of fresh ingredients combined that makes it flavourful. I personally like raw Salmon with Sriracha Mayo.
Biruk Workneh - 5 months ago
We bought them during lunch and had as dinner due to the trip. We ordered 2 dishes, salmon classic poke bowl and karaage rice bowl since they ran out of udon that day. Staffs are friendly and helpful since this is our first try.
The poke bowl sauce, I changed to teriyaki mayo, my daughter loves it so much, we love the fresh taste of fruit with fresh veggies.
My Karaage chicken still good, i had sriracha mayo. Not too spicy but taste flavorful.
Will go back to try other dish when we go to Toronto again.

I tried a sushi burrito for the first time and learned that I prefer either rolls or poke. That being said it was super tasty and delicious albeit a bit messy to eat. Double the fish and it’s enough to make me feel full for the whole day.
I can definitely recommend building your own, although it can get pricey. Overall worth trying at least once.

I recently visited this establishment and had a disappointing experience with the staff’s conduct. I usually tip well and have great respect for people in the service industry, but this visit left me feeling disrespected = no tip.
As I approached the counter, I had my payment ready in cash just in my pack pocket. though I hadn’t yet been asked my payment method. Without asking, the cashier activated the debit machine went behind the counter, and it seemed as though they talked and made an assumption about me. I was holding two grocery bags with work supplies, and I can’t help but feel they presumed I was a homeless person, which led to some sort of unspoken judgment.
While I was taking a moment to set my things down and grab my payment, the cook began yelling from behind the counter that the debit machine was ready—even though I was clearly holding cash. This interaction was uncomfortable and unnecessary. It’s unacceptable to treat any PERSON this way—whether they’re homeless or a paying customer. No one should be yelled at in a professional environment, especially over something as simple as a payment method.
The food here is great, but this experience has made me think twice about returning. Customer care should be a priority for all staff members, regardless of their role.
In addition treating homeless people poorly seems like such an ethical failure on part of all of the privilege that Canadians have. Truly a shame that this is the way Rolltation conducts themselves.
I would recommend that the staff maybe be paid more and given gentle persuasion approach training to staff as there is a high homelessness population. people that are homeless. Instead of yelling at them.
Great food. But Not okay.

really yummy packed sushi burrito. they have tons of topping options and the price is reasonable. staff sometimes can be unhappy but in terms of food: really delicious and hearty. i love all the toppings and how it’s rolled so securely. a few notes: i wish the tofu was either crispy, or season better because i find it a bland but it’s protein! and i got the kale noodle salad and unfortunately there was too much seasoning. other than that, love the sushi burrito and it will always be my go to snack!

Was about to go down to catch our TTC and happened to see this place. We thought hey, let's go upstairs at Fran's and have a drink. We walked in and the stairs quickly told us that this was NOT Fran's. We had found the Rooftop Bar. So glad we stopped in. They have a nice selection of drinks, great staff and a welcoming venue. Good sense of humor with some things around the bar and nice daily specials/happy hour deals.

Visited Fran’s Rooftop Bar for breakfast before starting a road trip. We arrived just as they opened, and the views were absolutely amazing. The ambiance was great, making for a pleasant morning setting.
The service was attentive; our server was quick to meet all our needs. We ordered the classic breakfast, Benedict, and chicken and waffle. While nothing particularly blew us away, everything was solid and met our expectations.
Portions were generous and the prices were reasonable, which we really appreciated. Overall, Fran’s Rooftop Bar is a fantastic breakfast spot in Toronto for a weekend meal, especially if you’re looking for a place with a homey feel, tasty food, and great decor.

This is a good place for a happy hour as it has decent prices, such as beers for 6 50 until 8 pm, and good food (I recommend the chicken fingers and the nachos). It is very warm, which I like, but some people complain about it. It has a very nice street view and during the summer they open the windows.

Nice view over College Street. Enclosed and heated seating during winter months.

Beef sliders and wings were great too

Would absolutely come back again. Thank you!

Not bad but very expensive for the quality/quantity of food. The servers were nice but were quite forgetful and gratuity was mandatory. The summer passion cocktail was DELICIOUS but everything else was edible but the taste did not reflect the cost. We got seated at a table by the edge of the rooftop and the mister didn’t reach our table so we were very very hot where we were sat. I got the B Mac Sliders trio and they were quite dry which was disappointing. The waitress also suggested that I get fries with my burger which also ended up being very dry. Overall it was disappointing because my boyfriend and I wanted to go to one nice place and spend a bit of money for once and it ended up being overall not that good.
