**A Creative Plant-Based Journey with Some Pacing Issues**
My wife and I recently dined at Arpege, a 3-star Michelin restaurant that specializes in a plant-based menu, and as vegans, we were thrilled by the creativity and variety offered throughout the evening. The tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular — each dish was an inventive, well-balanced experience, showcasing fresh, vibrant ingredients in ways that were both surprising and delightful. Every course felt like a culinary masterpiece, with bold flavors and beautiful presentations.
The service was impeccable throughout the night. The staff was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, which added to the overall experience. They made us feel welcome and catered to every detail without being intrusive.
However, one area that fell short was the pacing of the meal. While we thoroughly enjoyed the first few courses, the dinner extended to 4 hours, with the last three courses taking over two hours to arrive. This long delay significantly affected the flow of the evening and left us feeling a bit restless by the end. We understand that fine dining often takes time, but the extended wait toward the latter half of the meal felt excessive.
Overall, the food and service were exceptional, but the timing issues did detract from the otherwise incredible experience. We would still recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a top-tier plant-based dining experience, but hopefully, the pacing can be improved in the future.

The chef is amazing in being able to create surprising dishes that come from produce coming straight from his farm in Normandie. Each dish is so sophisticated combining textures and flavours you would never have produced yourself; the freshness of the ingredients comes through in every dish. The bread is freshly made in the restaurant; it looks countrified but it is actually soft on the inside and flavourful. I ordered the lunch set and it was filling without being excessive. I am now convinced that, in the right hands, a vegetarian approach can be as nutritious as a more traditional protein centric diet.

We had high hopes and expectations like most of the diners do. However our experience fell short being dining at the Salon, the dining room situated in the basement of the restaurant. I can imagine it is a lovely venue if it’s for a private and intimate event, yet the setting of 4-5 tables (each table sits 2-3 people) being “trapped” inside this narrow space, although decorated beautifully with embroidery wall art, didn’t live up to a three Michelin stars restaurant in Paris at all. The vibe of the space felt dead and silent, the lighting was too bright and white, in short, it’s just uncomfortable. One of the tables complained about it and even left the restaurant without finishing the appetizer.
There seemed to be a short of hand situ of servers that three to four of our dishes were not collected as soon as we finished - it literally took more than 3-5 minutes for dishes to be collected. I left for bathroom as soon as I finished one of the dishes and by the time I returned, the dirty plate was still on the table… Water and wine weren’t filled in a timely manner. The pace was awkward, especially more awkward that we were seated at this deadly quiet and uninteresting space. Servers didn’t seem to have time to entertain the guests between courses. No one came to ask us if we enjoyed the food. But we could tell they were very busy and they had to run up and down to bring food and plates back and forth. We get that they wanted to run a casual diner without the formality of the usual three stars restaurants, but the overall service was even less attentive than a small bistro in town.
Food was great - however not jaw-droppingly amazing. The three of us had the tasting menu, two having the standard menu with fish and meat courses, and I had the vegetarian menu. First though, the bread was cold, not delicious, and there’s no (vegan) butter or any seasonings for it. The madeleine served towards the end was cold and tasteless as well. Very disappointing have to say. The other courses, some hit some miss. We did very much enjoy the thinly sliced beet carpaccio, the butternut squash rosemary soup, and the charred cabbage was mind blowing.
The fact that we were seated in the Salon made the whole dining process feel terribly dragging. The lighting was too bright that we were so alerted and unrelaxed the whole time. You couldn’t help but looking at the other diners from the table right across and next to you, and you saw that they were looking at you too… Locking eyes with each other to share the mutual tiredness telepathically. Two of the tables requested to move upstairs for the whole evening and finally they went up for their dessert courses, which made the space even more tired and deadly, but we were glad that we finally finished our meal and about to leave. It’s just sad that we couldn’t wait to finish everything and leave asap.
Chef Passard was surely one of the kind. He came greet us when we first arrived, and we saw him and chatted him up upstairs at the entrance when we were about to leave. He’s genuinely warm and vibing, unfortunately such charming character didn’t translate to the Salon downstairs. The Salle upstairs was a completely different vibe - moody yet lively - somewhere you expect a fine dining restaurant to be like. Well I guess we just had ourselves to blame that we booked the Salon thinking it’s a unique venue at the very first place.

Had a fabulous time with my wife to celebrate her birthday.
You will definitely taste an exceptional course of vegan meals, and find out the restaurant's unique techniques and philosophies on gastronomy.
You will feel cozy and comfortable with professional staffs' hospitality.
What an honor to meet Mr. Alain Passard, one of the best chef in the world!

An absolutely stunning and delicious meal. I was disappointed with the added fish and both desserts: the fish didn't have as much flavor as the dishes in the tasting menu; the first dessert was supposed to be a squash ice cream with profiterole and a sauce but the ice cream tasted overwhelmingly of red pepper and the topping was so tart it hurt; the second dessert was a hazelnut souffle that was quite spicy and verbena ice cream that reminded me of soap. However, the rest of the courses were so outrageously delicious and flavorful that I don't even mind there being some I didn't care for. I was really happy to have saved this experience for the last day of my trip as I can't imagine enjoying other food after this!

Quiet restaurant. Well cooked food, almost to perfection, but unfortunately the flavour combinations didn't blend at times. We had the Langoustine Ravioles, perfectly cooked, the flavour profile of Parmesan, orange and avocado didn't work for me. The lobster couldn't have been better cokked or served, but the accompanying puree was a bit salty. Worth a visit.

A fine, affordable Michelin one-star restaurant. I made my reservation for the same day; I can't say why it's not packed. I had the prix fixe 5 course menu for 96 euros: frog leg soup (my first time having frog; tastes like chicken!), clam/calamari paella, monkfish, quail, then berry pavlova. The only course that could have been a little better was the monkfish. The fish was a touch overcooked, and the carrot sauces were bland. Otherwise a full-on recommendation

What a way to end our Paris trip! The staff was excellent, the food and wine pairing even better. They were easily able to accommodate nut allergies without sacrificing quality one bit.

We wanted to try a Michelin restaurant during our visit to Paris and Auguste provided us with one of the most memorable highlights of our trip.
The lunch menu, for a Michelin starred restaurant, was an incredible value proposition (less than 50 euros per pax at the time of writing) and we even paid a little more to try their reccomended red mullet dish. The flavors and attention to detail shine through each of the three courses we had for lunch. Special mention to the sorbet, probably the best we have ever tried anywhere.
We would also like to commend the waiters for their excellent service and explanations on the dishes we tried.

Excellent food, however the waiter laughed out loud suddenly when serving, and heard another waiter bursted out laughing with the previous waiter right after serving us, so it feels like they’re laughing at us, not sure if we did something funny, we were just waiting for the food thats it. Other than that, well done.

We popped in around 9pm on a Wednesday and it was just us and the owner. He speaks excellent English, was very friendly, and the food was exquisite. I had the Duchess crepe and my wife had the Breton, both were served steaming hot with a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream melting in the middle. These are next level crepes, not like what you get from street vendors, far superior. I also had the Cafe Liégeois, so very good. I would bet everything on the menu is delicious.

We were walking from Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, and happened to be in this street around lunch time, so we went in this small restaurant in the heart of Paris. The owner of this place is such a friendly and energetic person, fluent in several languages and extremely endearing. The food is beyond description, you should just go there and try it! I recommend you to get cider, a galette (salty pancake) with small green salad and a crêpe (sweet pancake) as a desert. If you are coming with friends, get at least a bottle of cider and one small green salad is fine to be shared.

Stumbled upon this place before going to the Rodin Museum. 2 crepes, small salad, and 1/2 bottle of wine for 34 Euros. The buckwheat crepes were outstanding. The wine was good excellent although everyone else was having the cider. Would definitely recommend.

We were craving for crepes and found this in the area. I really lovedddd the simple but traditional French crepes. The crepes were chewy/gummy in a really good way and the toppings complimented them so well. We got the duchess and the one with pear and caramelized sugar/toffee. It was soo addictive! The owner was extremely nice and friendly. We were trying to find a grocery store to buy some essentials for my daughter n he helped us with that. There’s also wifi here!!!
Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Needless to say, we’re really disappointed with all the dishes served. Nothing unique, nothing great and special about it. Very unexpected since we saw good ratings on this restaurant.
Ambience: 9/10
Service: 9/10
Food: 3.5/10
Wine: 9/10
We took the dégustation menu for dinner at 59€ per person, where the chef actually decides what to serve for the entire meal for all guests. (Which was a mistake to be frankly honest) — 2 petite versions of entrées, plats, and desserts at 59€ per person ~ not including the wine and drinks
The 2 entrées were sadly either under seasoned or blandly cold:
mushroom velouté - tastes like a normal mushroom soup, lacks salt and taste.
Veau with pecorino - not really a pleasing dish, feels like i ate airplane food
Plats:
Fish with black rice risotto and black garlic- this is the most decent dish we had that night. Pretty good, but not wow.
Volaille with mais purée and popcorn- this was a let-down. Most of our chicken was so dry, and the purée was just ok. Sauce has lack of flavor.
Dessert:
Chocolate fondant with hazelnut ice cream- best thing about this dish: the ice cream
Île flottante - we’ve had better. Again nothing special.
The only reason why i put 2 stars is for the service. Pleasant servers and always smiling.
But overall, it did not compensate our taste, experience and expectations on this restaurant, especially for the price.
It was our first and sadly it will also be our last visit here.

Everything was wonderful. The food was even better than I had hoped (we read a lot of reviews so had high expectations)!! The only thing that made it a bit uncomfortable was it was quite hot. Opening a window or two would have helped immensely. Otherwise, so incredible and highly recommend!!

Great modern French restaurant in a rather subdued neighborhood filled with government buildings. The decor is Scandinavian minimalist and the food is excellent. And best of all, the prices are still reasonable for this level of quality. Highly recommended.

Friendly service people. However, the choice is limited, very limited for people with a meat-free diet, for example. They have a choice of fish and a predefined vegetable side dish. They are deprived of fries all year round because they are only reserved for grills.
A self-service system for side dishes would be welcome, this would allow the customer to compose their plate as they wish.
The vegetarian dishes and desserts are generally very well prepared.
Allergens and ingredients used in processed foods (sauces, soups, desserts, starters) are not mentioned anywhere.

A superb discovery of a small restaurant with warm decoration and an unusual setting with a large, super beautiful old fireplace at the back and the kitchen open to the entrance to the restaurant.
The welcome and service are friendly and attentive.
A small menu with a selection of good dishes to my taste.
I had a beef tataki as a starter and poultry to accompany the mushrooms and truffles. It was absolutely delicious!
The particularity of this place is that the dishes are almost prepared before your eyes, so great confidence in fresh products and the cleanliness of the kitchen.
The value for money is more than satisfactory.
I highly recommend.
Well done to the chefs, thank you to the staff.

This restaurant is incredible. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I speak very poor French and they were very patient and so helpful. They have an English menu as well. I ordered an iced latte, the avocado toast, and the creme brulee. It was one of the best meals I've eaten in Paris. The toast have extremely fresh ingredients, the perfect amount of cream cheese and was delicious. The portion was filling and satisfying without being heavy. The prices are a little bit higher than some other restaurants I've been to, but it is really explained by the incredible quality of the ingredients. I can't recommend this place enough. The creme brulee was the best I've ever eaten.

As I strolled past the newly unveiled restaurant situated just across from my hotel, curiosity pulled me inside.
To my delight, I was welcomed by the owner who happened to be a single woman, an empowered woman! 🙌🏼
Everything on the menu looked yummy, but I opted for the stewed beef with white rice, my order arrived quickly, revealing a culinary masterpiece. The meat, exquisitely tender and flavorful, paired harmoniously with the fresh and delectable bed of rice.
It was a delightful experience, marked not only by the scrumptious flavors but also by the empowering presence of a friendly staff.
I urge you to give this place a try and support a small business.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Authentique, an Algerian Kabyle restaurant, and it was an amazing experience. The food was not just delicious but also felt deeply authentic. Knowing that the cooks behind these fantastic dishes were two sisters who clearly love what they do added an extra layer of warmth to the whole experience. It felt like more than just a meal; it was like being welcomed into a family's kitchen. I highly recommend the Authentique to anyone looking for a taste of Algerian cuisine
