Great Location, But Disappointing Service
I recently stayed at this hotel and booked my room the same day, which was a great deal for the area. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of St. Germain de Pres and the 6th arrondissement, which is my favorite part of Paris. Opening the window to a quintessential Parisian view was delightful, with the added charm of hearing French songs from the street below in the afternoons—like something out of a movie.
However, the experience was marred by poor service at the front desk. While most of the staff were polite and professional, the woman at the front desk during our stay was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. Upon arrival, she explained things in a very impolite manner, repeatedly insisting on knowing our entire schedule, including when we planned to wake up, have breakfast, and leave the room. Despite our reassurances that we would follow the hotel’s timing, she continued to insist on its importance.
Our room was another issue—we received two shampoos but no shower gel. When my girlfriend asked for one, the receptionist initially refused to believe us, questioning our word and insisting that the staff never make such mistakes. Eventually, she sent someone to check, and we were proven right, but the interaction left a bad taste.
The following morning, I chose to fill out the breakfast order form and bring it directly to the front desk. The same receptionist looked at the form with clear disgust and even showed it to the cleaning lady, laughing together. When I confronted her about it, she criticized how I filled out the form and suggested, “Why don’t you have breakfast in the restaurant so it’s easier?”—which is not something you say to a guest. When our breakfast finally arrived, it was incorrect, and when we called to address the issue, she blamed me for filling out the form “wrong.”
When my girlfriend called to inform them that our order was completely wrong, this same person started arguing in an extremely informal manner (like a teenager), insisting that it was my fault because I had filled out the form incorrectly—even though she had asked me to redo it with her! My girlfriend pointed out that regardless, this is not the way to speak to customers, and that the essence of her job is not to argue or pass judgment, let alone blame the guests. In response, the receptionist claimed that there were four people in front of her who could attest that she wasn’t being disrespectful, all while verbally attacking my girlfriend with her rapid speech and lack of professionalism. Where are we now? A playground argument? Shocked by such vulgarity and unprofessionalism, my girlfriend decided to hang up. It was truly a shocking and unpleasant experience for her to feel so attacked in this situation.
This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially at a hotel of this caliber. Hotel staff should be courteous and focused on finding solutions in a polite manner. Unfortunately, this was not our experience here.

We stayed in the suite on the third floor. It was nice and spacious. The room could use more lighting, but I believe that's the norm for a lot of hotels in Paris. The staff was great and the hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and cafes. There's also a taxi rank within a few minutes across the main street. We would stay here again.

Fantastic. Large rooms with view to the Plaza. Comfy bed. Great bathroom, large, good shower. Excellent breakfast. And perfect location in 6th, near metro, lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Easy to get to CDG, Montparnasse,

Two locations - one that serves meat tapas and the other fish.
I went to both because one, I loved the vibe and two I needed to try the blood sausage macaroon.
First time here , I met a lovely mother and son traveling Europe together that bridge my lack of French speaking which isn't always an issue but I would say that the waiters aren't as nice in general in Paris if you don't speak French so it was nice to feel more comfortable abs really it changed my trip . I was borderline ready to fly back to NY bc I hated paris my first few days and this place and people helped me stay and enjoy the rest of my trip .
A lot of American people here so if you are traveling and don't speak much French and want awesome tapas with a side of wine ; this is the place to visit .

We stayed here for two nights recently and loved the hotel. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable and, in my opinion, very quiet compared to many other hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast is include and was served in our room; it was excellent. The location is also very good and in walking distance to many things. We plan to stay here again the next time we are in Paris.

I made a reservation to make sure we would be dinning here. The table location was good and the restaurant decoration too. The food was amazing, The dauphin ravioli starter was the most delicious part of our whole meal however, I would not order dessert again as it was not for my taste even though looked very nice, didn’t worth the flavour. Make sure when ordering water to ask for tap water. Great experience overall.

We made a reservation, but showed up an hour early and they seated us right away. Most people were dressed very nice, and we were in shorts and sandals, but they didn’t make us feel bad or uncomfortable and were all very nice and friendly. Our waiter was excellent, he was on top of everything and always there when we needed him. And the food…. WOW! Honestly everything we had was just amazing, words can’t do it justice. We were able to pay from a QR code on the table and leave when we wanted to. If you’re looking for a nice restaurant with great service and incredible food, you’ve found it

This was recommended by our friend living in Paris and well worth the visit.
They kept the heritage vibe while keeping the environment also very cozy. Food is very traditional and the portion is quite big. So be more cautious and don’t over order. Service is also very attentive. We visited during the Olympic season so quite a lot of people dressed in casual. Though I think visitors should dress up slightly for the occasion.

This is what simple ingredients done well is all about!
Food here was delicious - French onion soup was one of the nicer ones we had in Paris. The fish ceviche starter was so refreshing just fresh and zesty.
Their take on sea bream pie was simple and delicious. Beef bourguignon and the mash potato...simply divine.
Do note that you will definitely need a reservation to dine here. There was still a crowd by the time we finished our meal - which was around 1030pm. This shows you how popular this place is!

Got in at ~5:30pm and had great food experience. Tender beef cheek, great starters and large salad. All very french, very touristic in a good way (ie classic) and of a good quality. Interiors are historical and prices are high, but manageable.

It was an interesting experience to try the kushiage concept (Japanese deep fried food on a stick). We took the 58€ menu to have the sashimi, sushi and palate cleanser on top of the basic 48€ menu. The frying technique was good, crispy, no soggy (except the scallop). But not much flavors lingering in my mind though, or maybe we are too used to french dishes which always pair the main ingredients with the sauce to elevate the flavors. In any case, worth a try for the concept.
Ps: we really liked their green mustard
Tam Le - 4 months ago
It was good but did not keep up to our expectations. The service was super friendly and fast. We ordered the menu with the extra sashimi. All in all, you get plenty of small dishes. They are good but miss richness in flavor. On the other hand, the sauce given to the fried sticks, tasted like a very salty Worcestershire sauce not fitting in my opinion.

The food was great and the chef was so welcoming. Thank you very much for a great experience.

We tried 58 euro menu.
1 more sashimi and Chazuke than the 48 euro menu.
15 different fried meat, vegetables and seafood.
Try the Sake there to pair the fried food, it will give you some fresh feeling.
The price is very reasonable for Paris. Recommend people who like the fried food to visit, but not a place for good sushi or sashimi.
Eva G - a year ago
The sashimi was in my opinion the star of all the courses presented. The place specializes in tempura. I have to admit that everything was great to the exception of the rice soup that was too salty and some tempuras like the courgette or brocoli lacked some in depth flavors and the matcha dessert that was too sweet for my taste. The squid and the foie gras tempura were outstanding.

Rated compared to brasserie restaurants. Les Editeurs is one of my favorite spots in Paris for a nice, low key meal or a drink. Wonderful decor and book theme inside, with dining areas on the main level and upstairs. Mixture of business meals and social meals going on in the lively atmosphere.
Food is very good, and keeps me coming back each time I visit Paris. Atmosphere is unique. Highly recommended.

We were very grateful to be able to get in without a reservation at Les Éditeurs when dinner plans elsewhere fell through.
We had a great meal while enjoying the view from the outside seating. The service was wonderful and all of the food was delicious! We had the escargot, the scallop and leek entree, the steak frites entree, 3 cheese plate, and crème brûlée - every single thing we had was fantastic 👌

What a quaint place! They seated us right away and were more attentive than expected (we were told that’s not a thing in Paris). The food was delicious! I had the special with caponata, Seabass and crème brûlée—which was so light and creamy. My husband had the best chicken club sandwich and fries that put “chips” to shame!

Great location at a lively intersection for plenty of people-watching while enjoying a drink or meal. We stopped by for a little walking break and enjoyed a cafe latte and the smoked salmon dish. The staff was very friendly — our server Mohammad Ali (yes, that’s his name) was fabulous! As a writer and editor, I especially love the bibliographic decor — and complimentary bookmark that comes with l’addition! 🤗

At first, French cuisine was never my option. I might not have experienced it well before, but this restaurant changed my perspective on French gastronomy. The service was proper yet casual in true Parisian style, which impressed me a lot. The frog legs, duck, and macaroni (forgot the name), even the vanilla ice cream and chocolate, all exceeded my expectations and became some of my favorite foods of all time. I will definitely come back every time I’m in Paris

Allard is a classic Parisian bistro that brings a taste of traditional French cooking to life. Located in the picturesque Latin Quarter, the restaurant boasts a cozy, intimate setting with vintage decor and a relaxed, warm ambiance. The menu is rooted in French culinary traditions, featuring comforting dishes like sole meunière, roasted duck, and hearty stews. The service is attentive and the wine list offers excellent pairings to complement the meal. Perfect for those looking to experience the true essence of French gastronomy in a timeless setting.

My husband and I visited Allard on our first night in Paris for what was an epic 40th birthday dinner. The duck with olives was sublime. Accompanied by a lovely pinot noir from Sancerre and the gratin macaroni with comté, the meal was perfect.

This place is average and definitely doesn’t deserve the wrap that it gets, too many tourists. Everyone speaks English as a customer so that means no locals eat here, the food is average to say the least, nice but okay , hefty price tag for a very mediocre meal besides the typical French culture of wanting to kick you out as soon as possible. I wouldn’t recommend as there are plenty of nice places in Paris to eat, even if you just walk along the street. Okay but definitely no 5star service you can find elsewhere. Very disappointed.

In the heart of Saint Germain des Près area, this is an authentic and almost centenary Parisian bistro which is now part of Alain Ducasse Group. Serves classic French food, particularly good is the duck with olives. Very popular with both locals and tourists.

A multi screen cinema showing the latest movies in French. Different sizes, some rooms are nice enough but some are rather small and uncomfortable. One would expect better but cinemas in Paris are rarely much better!

Average cinema experience with room for improvement
UGC Danton in Paris offers a standard cinema experience. The cinema is clean and comfortable, but there is nothing particularly special about it. The staff are friendly but could be more attentive. Visitors are more likely to experience a decent movie-watching experience with nothing particularly memorable about it.
What makes UGC Danton special is its location. It's conveniently located in the heart of the city, making it easily accessible to locals and tourists alike. However, for each star lacking, there are areas where UGC Danton can improve. One star is deducted for the lack of unique features and amenities that would make the cinema stand out from its competitors. Another star is deducted for the quality of the snacks and drinks, which could be improved. Lastly, another star is deducted for the lack of innovation in the overall cinema experience.
To improve the cinema experience, UGC Danton could consider offering more premium amenities like reclining seats, a better selection of snacks, and more engaging pre-show entertainment. Additionally, they could consider offering special discounts or promotions to attract more customers.
Overall, while UGC Danton is an average cinema, there is certainly room for improvement. If you're looking for a simple cinema experience without any frills, UGC Danton is a good choice. However, for those seeking a more elevated cinema experience, there are better options available.

Very well run establishment, very kind helpful team running the place . We witnessed the support and assistance offered to a handicapped person in need of help; very immediate response to needs, going as far as to help them into the theatre, find the right seat comfortably , unrushed, and without pressure…
Venue was well kept, the temperatures as one would hope, the bathrooms clean (paper towel would be a plus), and the clientele matched : they found a wallet and left it at the box office to be recuperated by us about an hour later much to our surprise and delight.. thank you for restoring our faith in the kindness of strangers…. We were there to see screening of Yesterday - how fitting!
Thank You, look forward to visiting you again soon

Truly wonderful traditional French dishes in a beautifully detailed interior of some 120+ years. A historical building. The tapanade was the best we've ever had, the onion soup was delicious as was the Caesar salad and frites. The champagne was excellent. And most of all the staff were absolutely delightful. We'll be back our on return trip to Paris!

Amazing experience for our birthday. We were served champagne at the beginning of our service. We ordered the oysters and magret de canard and agneau. I didn't know what wine to pick so they sent me the sommelier who offered me something and we got a bottle of white wine "Mercury" it was delicious. Everything was so well prepared and tasty and the service was amazing. We felt very special and welcomed during our stay and will be back again.

Traditional Brasserie in Paris 6th district. The decoration and ambiance cannot be more Parisian. The food is very classic and you can find delicacies that most restaurants don’t serve anymore like the “QUENELLES DE BROCHET SOUFFLÉES, SAUCE NANTUA” that are deliciously heavy and tasty. Tartare, choucroute, duck, and beef marrow are all specialties. They have a very good wine list and service is attentive.

Came here on our trip to Paris to watch some Sunday Football and vibes were AMAZING. A bar full of Americans yelling at screens made me feel right at home! And the food was so so good. If you want to try frog legs, this is the place. Skip the frog hamburger though. Fried frog legs very delicious and crispy. So were the sauteed ones with garlic and parsley. Just too expensive - served only with French fries on a side.

This is another difficult review to write. Azabu has a lot of things going for it, staff are wonderful, the venue is great and the ambiance is perfect, especially when you're dining outside on a nice night. However....Azabu puts themselves on the upper end of the scale with their pricing. An average "menu" will cost you 45€ without refreshments. With just two glasses, you are likely walking out of dinner paying north of 60 euros. Having said that, the expectations is the food will be like everything else, wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't find the food to be anything beyond mediocre. The starters while being presented perfectly, were lacking any real character. The "amuse bouche" was also just flat. Two of us had the Wagyu beef and honestly, it was either overcooked and too chewy. Finally the dessert which was a green tea cake was dry. I am not going to advise others to avoid the place, it seems there are a lot of positive reviews and we could have been there when the chef wasn't having his best day. For me though I won't return as the pricing was far too high for food of this quality.

A largely women-run homestyle teppanyaki shop where every dish is elegant and tastes delicious. The menu features daily specials so you have a variety of fresh fish, pork, beef, and vegetable options to choose from. Something for everyone here and the quality of the dishes is very high. Even the humble chawanmushi was the best I’ve had with a subtle shiitake flavor. The kind of place I would go to again and again and again if I lived in Paris!
