We came to see an exhibit about fragrances and the history of them. It was such a unique and immersive experience! The building is also beautiful so be sure to give yourself time to roam.
Nathan Bilancio - 7 months ago
The building alone is worth the visit. The temporary exhibitions (Palestine, Jean Genet) were brilliant, with lots of information to read.
It seems both exhibitions were mixed with the permanent ones. With signage not always clear (should we take the stairs or lift...), it was sometimes confusing. Not a problem since everything was great, but a bit annoying at times.
The bookstore has lots of choices to deepen the subjects...

Quite an amazing institution for anyone interested in discovering the greatness and splendor of the classical Arab World as well as the mystery of the Orient. Visited on the occasion of the Al-'Ulâ exhibition, where one learns about the rich history of the Arabic peninsula.
On 28-MAY-2024 visited the extraordinary exhibition on the work of French, Algerian-at-heart, painter Etienne Dinet. Absolutely stunning work and excellent exhibition.
Alexandre Papanastassiou - a month ago
Really liked the temporary exhibitions, especially the one about Samarkand textiles and jewelry. The permanent exhibition seems to have interesting exhibits, but lack storyline or proper explanations, so it's not as educational and enjoyable as it could have been.
Viktoria Korzhova - a year ago
The name of the building is L'Institut du Monde Arabe. It is an extraordinary edifice by architect Jean Nouvel. The exhibitions inside and outside are thrilling and exceptional. The store is filled with a wide range of books of poetry, protest images in Iran, Persepolis, novels, and catalogues. You will also find an array of glass ware and ceramics for kitchen and dining , as well as jewellery. One exhibition concerns Palestine with a video of Mamoud Darwich reading his poetry, works of Jean Genet and artworks on loan from the Museum of Palestine located in east Jerusalem. Another exhibit concerns Perfume with actual scents to inhale, as well as a sensual womanist video with haunting V O of intimate scenes in a hamam.

Typical American diner in the 5th. There aren’t a lot of places like this one in Paris. You’ll find all your American diner classics and great brunch options on weekends such as pancakes, eggs any style, smoothies, etc.
I had the newly added “Eggs Benedict”, kinda disappointed but they were still pretty good.
Gets really crowed on weekends, you’ll have to wait in line after 11am.
I recommend going there around 9-10am to get a table since they don’t take reservations.

Woah! I have never seen any Paris restaurant have so many American TV Show or Movie. I can tell what is their favorite show or movie. The sign on board was written in English which I was very surprise to see that. I mean I speak English.
The staff was great and friendly personality. The waitress was very good looking and beautiful.
She did a good job service the food and drink.
I enjoy eating American food again. I love burrito, homemade fries, and Hot chocolate.
Im glad they got a bathroom, but the sink was in a different area and right next to bathroom.

We loved their food! Their California French toast was amazing. Very nice staff, great service. Huge bonus—their tap water is ice cold and is divine (we have not found this anywhere else in Paris)

Great experience and food at this diner. Service was a dream and the food was excellent! Would highly recommend to anyone in Paris.

We came here this morning. First thing, the restaurant is clean and bright. Decor is 1950s diner and the atmosphere is calm. Between my husband and I we ordered the triple play and a stack of pancakes with a side of eggs. The food came quickly. The presentation was good and the taste did not disappoint. The pancakes were fluffy, golden brown, my eggs were cooked to my liking and the maple butter (maple syrup with melted butter) was superb.
Thank you to the staff for a pleasant dining experience and for providing a taste of home when the cravings hit!
Merci!

Dinner, Conversation and Cognac
Walking near the Sorbonne in the 5th District we came upon Le Buisson Ardent and saw a wonderful lamb entree on the menu. We settled in for 2+ delicious hours of cafe dining, including that lamb, dessert and cognac. All accompanied by the charm and conversation of the owner and young patrons surrounding us. Highly recommend!

Our group absolutely loved our experience at Le Buisson Ardent. There are plenty of authentic food options with unique twists. This was the best escargot I had in Paris! The owner was incredibly welcoming and accommodating of our needs. The bar and drinks were definitely my favorite part about our dinner - we all had amazing cocktails and ordered several. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Found this place just walking around. Very decent food. Exceeded expectations. We had the beef tartare, tuna tartare, grilled squid/octopus (polpe), pan fried tuna and ipa.
They served us Evian for EUR6.5 which I was tempted to give 4 stars for service, haiya, but I should’ve just been assertive and asked for tap water instead 😅
But overall, again, much better than anticipated.

My friends and I all agreed - this was our best meal in Paris! From the specialty surprise drinks to the incredible mains, the service and quality of food was amazing. I had the soup of the day and the tuna, and it was delicious! Seriously, go here, you’ll feel welcomed and have a great meal.

Just had a wonderful meal complete with wine, coffee and dessert. The interactions with the owner made us feel totally comfortable and welcome despite our limited French. The decore had an Art Deco feel and the music lent itself well with the general ambience. We were so impressed.

What a wonderful place to stumble upon after cabaret! Beatrice and Bruno welcomed us, talked to us about wine and cheese, selected a delicious cheese plate and wine to accompany it. I would love to come back, well worth a visit.

I came for the wine and left with a great conversation with the staff. This little gem I thought would be crowded in lunch time but was lovely and quiet for my lunchtime visit. The owners know wine and are very open to discussing at length for your deeper knowledge. It’s a superb place to dine alone or with a group. Highly recommend! Magnifique !

Awesome place, great wine selection and suggestions from Beatrice. Nice chatting (in my rudimentary French) with the folks at the next table who were doing a formal Sommelier wine testing. Excellent cheese plate as well.
Highly recommended.

American Review 🇺🇲 - Great fabulous selection of wine. Nice staff. HOWEVER, it is NOT a wine bar 🚫, as the Google description says. 🤣 I felt bad cause we got a little scolded when we didn't order food and tried to pay. We were waiting for the show to open down the street. So 🙈 don't make the same embarrassing mistake we did.

Visited here constantly during a vacation to Paris, nice cheap beer and apparently popular with the younger crowd. Open late too. Though the bartender/owner didn't seem to like us much (our French is terrible) he smiled and made it work.

I've always wanted to try this place, got the chance to go there for lunch with a few colleagues. We had a few appetizers to share, I liked the guac and the octopus the rest was good as well. Then I ordered the trilogy of ceviches as I couldn't decide which one to have. Food was fresh and delicious, the waitress was super nice. I would definitely go again.

Love the salade - Papas a la Huancaína, especially Huancaína sauce, creamy with ají amarillo flavor, well balanced!
The main dish Ceviche de pato, which the sauce made with a Peruvian corn beer, perfect match with the duck!

Thanks to a gift, smartbox we ended up at this INCREDIBLE restaurant.
The food is stunning, and the mixtures of spices is out of this world. Really. So exotic and so good.
The tuna ceviche with mango sauce was especially memorable.
The waitress was delightful too. So friendly.

Best ceviche I've ever had.
We came here 12 years ago and we were stunned by the ceviche. We were back today and it's always outstanding. The best I've ever had. Consistently.
The other dishes we tried varied from good to very good.
The place is pretty small. It has a good atmosphere. There is a single waiter, who is efficient and pleasant. The whole staff speaks Spanish.

My wife and I came here on the last night of our 2 week honeymoon in France and this was my favorite restaurant from the whole trip. The food was incredibly flavorful, from the little dishes brought out before ordering down to the dessert at the end. The service was also impeccable and the decor is so pretty too. I can't praise L'Atlas enough for this fantastic meal and overall experience!!!

Well located by the jardin des plantes, this Italian restaurant serves creative fresh home made pastas dishes. 👌 It's pretty tasty and good value for money. 😊

A 3.5 to 4-star good local restaurant, with freshly made food. Unfortunately, the dishes were nothing to write home about. My veggie pasta was tasty but slightly overcooked & the sauce was a bit on the lighter side, and my friend's salmon barley pasta was ok but a bit too bland. Good thing is that the food came very fast. Slightly disappointing also is that, arriving at 7pm and leaving at 8.30pm the restaurant was still relatively empty (30-40% occupancy only). That was a Wednesday evening. Is it a good or a bad sign?

I got salmon pasta, goat cheese, French cola and coffee. I paid 31 euros total. Prices are good, portions are large for Paris standards and food was delicious. First time I tried French cola and I like it. Pasta was fresh and good quality. Service is also really good. Employees know English.

They run out of homemade pastas and have me corkscrew pastas. Without mentioning it.
The taste of the dish was innovative but not refined. Still I appreciate they're exploring.

It is recommended to shares the dishes, as it allows you to try different types of homemade pasta at once, just like we did.
All of the three dishes were delightful and delicious.
