5 Star Rating Absolutely excellent we took the first meal because we had somewhere to be 45 minutes for the calve lamb at your table. Was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. OMG and the desert to die for :) Light delicious refreshing, not too sweet full of fruit to clean the pallet

5 Star Rating Excellent cuisine, very friendly staff who all spoke fluent English, great environment! My wife enjoyed delicious tender lamb and I enjoyed tender duck or canard. (I empathize “tender” because both lamb and duck at other restaurants are cooked too long which makes them very tough.) My wife and I look forward to coming back again next year. Update: one month later, I asked my wife, “Which restaurant was the best?” She quickly replied, “Train Bleu.” I agree. This is significant because we enjoyed excellent cuisine at four or five other famous restaurants.

5 Star Rating Very impressive dining experience. Restaurant set on train station podium. Well decor environment and cabin-like dining chair and table. Most important is food abd service are outstanding. The Lamb shank serves next to the table pop personal experience. Need to reserve a table with deposit. 1000% rewards.

4 Star Rating Le Train Bleu is a feast for the eyes more than the palate. The food is adequate—satisfying but not memorable. If you’re coming solely for a culinary experience, you might leave underwhelmed. However, the real star here is the stunning decor and breathtaking ambiance, which make the visit absolutely worthwhile. We had the pastry-wrapped sea bass for two. The presentation was gorgeous, and the table-side theater of cutting it up added a touch of drama to the experience. That said, the taste was a bit monotone, with the filling having a seafood pungency that was slightly overpowering, even for me as an avid seafood eater. The grandeur of the space, with its opulent ceilings and historic charm, is truly something to behold. It does get very busy, so making a reservation is essential to secure your spot in this iconic setting. Go for the atmosphere, and you won’t be disappointed.

4 Star Rating A must in Paris for its atmosphere, evoking good old times. The service is really disappointing. By the pint of view of the waiters you need to spend over €100 in beverages, otherwise they’ll offer you a very low-quality service. Regarding the food, it was good but nothing special for which to say ‘the best’.

3 Star Rating The European restaurant opposite Gare de Lyon disappoints with a mediocre dining experience. Despite a large menu, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. French fries were served burnt, and the rest of the dishes were unremarkable—certainly not worth the high prices. Service was limited and lacked attentiveness, making the overall experience underwhelming. For its location, you’d expect better quality, value, and hospitality. Would not recommend.

4 Star Rating Nice Mediterranean style restaurant right across from Gate de Lyon. Food is freshly made as expected and flavorful. Ordered the mushroom salad which for me was so so and then followed by Sea bream and spinach with coriander sauce...lovely! Pricing is reasonable for center of Paris and plenty of seating too. Enjoy!

3 Star Rating I was intrigued by the old school decor and the seafood counter that was on display. So I decided to pop in and give it a try. It took a long while before we were served with our mains. We ordered the sea bream, duck confit and hanger steak. All 3 items were overcooked and came up super dry. We then ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert. The texture of it felt odd, almost powdery to a certain extent. Despite the crazy amount of people dining there, it was certainly misleading. I'd give it a miss...

2 Star Rating Stopped by on a Saturday evening at this popular, pricey touristic restaurant just across the street from the Lyon Train station with our 7pm reservation and unfortunately, the highlight of our evening was getting seated immediately upon arrival. After being seated, we waited more than 20 mins before water was placed on our table and menus distributed despite seeing others being taken care of who arrived after we did. Overall, the service was absolutely terrible because we always had to ask for things and when food was finally delivered, the menu items that should be delivered hot were lukewarm at best, certainly because our server didn't care enough to be sure to deliver our hot plates as soon as they were made available by the kitchen. To make things worse, one of our orders was completely missed so my wife had to wait 15 more minutes before here andouillette was delivered to the table. When it came time to clear the table of plates before desert, one plate was left and wasn't picked up until after he delivered the deserts. The French onion soup (Traditionnelle gratinee a l'oignon parisienne) was served hot and was tasty and delicious with just the right amount of tasty cheese and one large crouton. The Salade de champignons a la crème et graines de coriandre was served cold and was also tasty. The Noix de Saint-Jacques plancha were cooked properly and were also tasty but unfortunately were served lukewarm as were all our "hot” plates. The Belle sole meuniere is the most expensive item on the menu and was perfectly cooked and quite tasty but again unfortunately was served lukewarm like the rest of our plates. Desserts were very good but not really a great value given their price. Overall, we were not at all pleased with our visit to this pricey popular touristic restaurant mainly because the service was terrible. Management here must devote more time and attention to the quality of the service provided if they want to justify their high prices. We will not be back.

4 Star Rating My friend and I ate here without making a reservation. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was not super busy, but is not far from a tourististy spot in Paris (Le tour Eiffel). Clean and pretty inside. They have menus in both FR and EN. The server didn't really speak English well, but that's okay because I ordered for us in French. But, he could get by. We first had the Mix de Brushetta (Brushetta Mix). She had Prosecco. Perrier 33mL for me. The Brushetta was good, but we weren't expecting the cured raw salmon as a "topping." However, it was tasty. The toppi gs are described in either menu, so you should ask as they might change. We ordered separate meals, but tasted each other's. My meal came out incorrectly so I had to wait. She had pizza, which was just okay. She removed a few pepperonis for me to taste a bite while I waited. First they brought out this huge bowl of twisty pasta with ham (Coquillettes du Jambon, Comté à la Truffe), which looked good, but I don't eat meat. I didn't have a chance to take a photo b/c I didn't let the server leave it. When I correct meal came, I had the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci (Rav w/ Ricotta & Spinach), which was DELICIOUS! My friend was so jealous. It came out hot and looked like a smaller bowl, but we were both surprised by the amount. It kept giving, and she kept dipping her pizza in my sauce. It really was quite good. The British guy next to us chatted with us and let me try his Tiramisu, which was great. Clean and crisp, with the taste of espresso but not overpowering and not overly sweet. And her Panna Cotta was good also, smooth, chilled, not too sweet. But my Crème Brûlée was very good. The sugar was thin and not burnt, also smooth. And I tasted all the vanilla, with the visible beans. I highly recommend the Ravioli.

5 Star Rating Love their pizzas and the relaxing vibe here. The aubergine one was my favourite and surprisingly super yummy. Came back another day for the spicy chorizo one which was also very good. Don’t eat cheese but forgot to ask not to have cheese when ordering at 2nd visit but the gentleman who served the pizza to me was very kind and immediately returned the pizza to kitchen without question when I told him that and brought me a new one without cheese 15minutes later. Will definitely come back next time in Paris. Highly recommended for everyone who wants a slice of good pizza 🍕 (espresso is very good too)

4 Star Rating Amazing place to get a quick bite after a long day of travel as this is right next to the train station. Plating and presentation is a big deal here. You get the fancy feel at a very reasonable price. If you are staying at the hotel above the restaurant you also get a 20% discount. You do have to pay for water. The Spaghetti was a little bland. However the ravioli was amazing. There are only a few vegetarian options.

3 Star Rating (July 2010) Weird! Given the tap choices and prices this place would have a claim as the city’s best specialist beer bar but the vibe and cliental is likely to keep many away. Rough as guts bar that services the local ’hang around the train station’ types and low brow punters. Service is good. Beers of interest, at the time of visit, included St Bernadus blond, Bourgogne de Flanders and St Feuillien saison. Pay about eur 2.50 to 3.00 at the bar.

5 Star Rating Tucked round the corner from Gare de Lyon is this great little establishment. We popped in as we were staying nearby but wanted something better than hotel beer. As we both like trying different beers this made this place a great choice. For us awkward tourists you never quite know the protocol when going in to somewhere like this, but we were soon sat at a table by the friendly barman who took our drinks order and popped back with a menu and specials board. While I can read and speak some French, the barman soon took pity on me and translated a couple of the menu items I was unsure of, we did not want much so grabbed the little chicken kebabs with dessert option. The food was great, served nice and hot and arrived quickly. The Savernoise beer was a local brew and very pleasant if you don't want anything too strong. If you're in the area and want a nice quick bite and a beer you'll not be disappointed.

5 Star Rating After losing the rugby and wandering back to our hotel we stopped for a nightcap. The place itself is nothing special but the atmosphere and locals, this is a bar used by local rail staff, are the most friendly and forthcoming. Ok we were the only English in there and France had won but it wasn't all about the rugby. The owner treated us to a drink and so did a couple of locals. For just one drink before bed we spent over two hours such was the company.

5 Star Rating Chef almost single handedly runs this restaurant. Sauces are perfect and expertly executed. The menu changes often and brings seasonal flavours into play. The entire table enjoyed his menu. We especially liked the roasted suckling pork which was delicious and so tender! A new benchmark for pork. Almost all pros. There was a con with our chicken dish. The chicken dish was an added 6 euros on top of the prix fix menu. The chicken was under seasoned and a little over done which made it our least favorite thing to eat. Just needed more seasoning on the chicken meat. The desserts were delicious. I love Pari Breast and Pavlovas , not a huge fan of blueberry souffle. Timely service and presentation 5/5. All the dishes were served together. We were a big group of 9 so it would have been hard. Amazing service. Well managed restaurant. Good with bookings and email communication which is important since we are tourists.

5 Star Rating First and foremost, the service was pleasant and hospitable. The servers were able to accommodate our large party and efficiently took our orders. They were happy to answer questions about the dishes we ordered and were diligent with refilling water and bread. Most importantly, they made me feel welcome in their establishment! The food and cooking tecbnique were all well executed. Being the white asparagus or suckling pork, each bite was flavorful and tender. I could observe the chef Shin Maeda personally prepare and put the finishing touches on all the dishes from the open kitchen with the same consistency as many in our group ordered the same dishes and all echoed similar positive complements. All in all, the Japanese-French influence reflected in the food and service provided a unique and memorable experience for my trip to Paris!

5 Star Rating What a gem next to gare de Lyon! Food was a joy of flavors: the terrine, smooth flavor, well balanced combination of pork meat and vegetables, in sync with the pickled salad. My main dish of gnocchi was made with love and subtle care, full of a flavoursome creamy mushroom sauce and an egg parfait. To finish with a traditional baba rum & chantilly cream, airy and delicious.Truly impressed. My friends enjoyed their dishes particularly, the delight and a great surprise, the asparagus starter and the cherry soufflé to finish! A play in your palate, definitely to repeat. It is not horrible expensive not cheap, but well worth it!

5 Star Rating Absolutely a must if you are in the Gare de Lyon area. Walking distance from the subway. If you are there for the Rugby World cup..GO! The "formule" is not too expensive (around 55 euros for 3 plates - entry, main and desert). But what makes it great is the quality of the ingredients and the cooking. One of the best meals we had whole year. The chef is simply great with flavours out of this world. Would recommend a visit. The service is also great and nice with the wife of the chef mending the front. An absolute must! FYI: this is not a Thai restaurant. This is not a Vietnamese restaurant. They do not serve breakfast only dinner. it is affordable.. so all of the reviews stating the contrary are in my opinion not valid. Check the chef's background.
