I would rate this restaurant highly, primarily for the overall experience, which was defined by its exceptional ambiance and well-trained staff. However, when it came to the food, I found it to be just okay—perhaps because my Indian palate had higher expectations in terms of flavor and spice.
We initially struggled to find an available reservation online, so we decided to call directly. Fortunately, we were able to secure a booking for 9 PM, which was a relief since we didn’t want to miss the chance to dine here, given all the hype surrounding the place. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the restaurant offered a grand and luxurious dining experience. The staff was professional and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly. However, there was a small hiccup when one of the servers accidentally spilled a bit of wine while pouring it and didn’t immediately clean it up. It was only when another staff member noticed that they wiped down the glass properly.
Communication wasn’t an issue, as most of the staff spoke and understood English quite well. For our meal, we ordered the tender lamb, which was presented in an impressive tableside service where the meat was carved right in front of us—a unique and enjoyable touch. My wife had also informed the restaurant that it was my birthday, and they surprised us with a small dessert topped with a candle, which was a thoughtful gesture.
Overall, despite some minor flaws, it was a memorable experience, and I can see why this place is so well-regarded.

Inaugurated in 1901, it was designed to impress visitors to the 1900 World’s Fair. Listed as a historic monument since 1972, it is now a popular spot for tourists and busy travelers, known for its luxurious decor featuring gilded details, wall frescoes, crystal chandeliers, painted ceilings, and fast service. However, the quality of the dishes, considering the price, does not match that of a French fine dining restaurant. The plate for the hot dish was not warmed, and the sauce was a bit salty. The lunchtime atmosphere was noisy—perhaps it’s quieter in the evening?

We visited Le Train Bleu for my daughter’s birthday, and it was truly a magical experience—an elegant and celebratory evening in every way. The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking, making it the perfect setting for such a special occasion.
Finding the restaurant was a bit of a challenge, as our taxi dropped us off in front of the train station, and there were no clear signs outside to guide us. However, once we found our way, it was more than worth it.
The service was outstanding, attentive, and professional, and the food was simply exquisite. Every dish was a delight, making the entire experience unforgettable. The only slight disappointment was the Rum Baba, which didn’t quite live up to the high standard set by the rest of the meal.
Overall, it was a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a truly special evening in Paris!

Amazing experience dining in a fancy restaurant in a train station. The service was wonderful but I did find the prices more than expected. But the architecture was stunning and overall place was nice and clean.

An authentic and family restaurant, with excellent French cuisine at a very reasonable price. The service is very attentive and helpful! Without a doubt, a great option to eat and spend a wonderful evening in Paris. (don't forget to try their duck... simply spectacular!)

This restaurant is such a lovely place for dinner. The owner also be the waitress is so friendly and helpful, even though with tourists. The menu is simple but every dish has its own signature with an unbelievable cheap price. Really really highly recommend.
P.s: the capacity is quite small so dont come so late after the opening time.

Small restaurant with French home made food and attentive service. We have been a group of 5 people, the waitress treated us very friendly and showed a lot of patience. The food was absolutely delicious. They offer combination of starters, main courses and a desserts. Thank you, we had a wonderful evening.

What a great find! Food was delicious (the duck was amazing, as was the chocolate gateaux) and the staff were super helpful with my lack of French language skills. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. What you see is what you get... a nice traditional Parisian bistro.

The European restaurant opposite Gare de Lyon disappoints with a mediocre dining experience. Despite a large menu, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. French fries were served burnt, and the rest of the dishes were unremarkable—certainly not worth the high prices. Service was limited and lacked attentiveness, making the overall experience underwhelming. For its location, you’d expect better quality, value, and hospitality. Would not recommend.

Stopped by on a Saturday evening at this popular, pricey touristic restaurant just across the street from the Lyon Train station with our 7pm reservation and unfortunately, the highlight of our evening was getting seated immediately upon arrival. After being seated, we waited more than 20 mins before water was placed on our table and menus distributed despite seeing others being taken care of who arrived after we did. Overall, the service was absolutely terrible because we always had to ask for things and when food was finally delivered, the menu items that should be delivered hot were lukewarm at best, certainly because our server didn't care enough to be sure to deliver our hot plates as soon as they were made available by the kitchen. To make things worse, one of our orders was completely missed so my wife had to wait 15 more minutes before here andouillette was delivered to the table. When it came time to clear the table of plates before desert, one plate was left and wasn't picked up until after he delivered the deserts.
The French onion soup (Traditionnelle gratinee a l'oignon parisienne) was served hot and was tasty and delicious with just the right amount of tasty cheese and one large crouton. The Salade de champignons a la crème et graines de coriandre was served cold and was also tasty.
The Noix de Saint-Jacques plancha were cooked properly and were also tasty but unfortunately were served lukewarm as were all our "hot” plates. The Belle sole meuniere is the most expensive item on the menu and was perfectly cooked and quite tasty but again unfortunately was served lukewarm like the rest of our plates.
Desserts were very good but not really a great value given their price.
Overall, we were not at all pleased with our visit to this pricey popular touristic restaurant mainly because the service was terrible. Management here must devote more time and attention to the quality of the service provided if they want to justify their high prices. We will not be back.

I was intrigued by the old school decor and the seafood counter that was on display. So I decided to pop in and give it a try.
It took a long while before we were served with our mains. We ordered the sea bream, duck confit and hanger steak. All 3 items were overcooked and came up super dry.
We then ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert. The texture of it felt odd, almost powdery to a certain extent.
Despite the crazy amount of people dining there, it was certainly misleading. I'd give it a miss...

Nice Mediterranean style restaurant right across from Gate de Lyon. Food is freshly made as expected and flavorful.
Ordered the mushroom salad which for me was so so and then followed by Sea bream and spinach with coriander sauce...lovely!
Pricing is reasonable for center of Paris and plenty of seating too. Enjoy!

My friend and I ate here without making a reservation. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was not super busy, but is not far from a tourististy spot in Paris (Le tour Eiffel). Clean and pretty inside. They have menus in both FR and EN. The server didn't really speak English well, but that's okay because I ordered for us in French. But, he could get by. We first had the Mix de Brushetta (Brushetta Mix). She had Prosecco. Perrier 33mL for me. The Brushetta was good, but we weren't expecting the cured raw salmon as a "topping." However, it was tasty. The toppi gs are described in either menu, so you should ask as they might change. We ordered separate meals, but tasted each other's. My meal came out incorrectly so I had to wait. She had pizza, which was just okay. She removed a few pepperonis for me to taste a bite while I waited. First they brought out this huge bowl of twisty pasta with ham (Coquillettes du Jambon, Comté à la Truffe), which looked good, but I don't eat meat. I didn't have a chance to take a photo b/c I didn't let the server leave it. When I correct meal came, I had the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci (Rav w/ Ricotta & Spinach), which was DELICIOUS! My friend was so jealous. It came out hot and looked like a smaller bowl, but we were both surprised by the amount. It kept giving, and she kept dipping her pizza in my sauce. It really was quite good. The British guy next to us chatted with us and let me try his Tiramisu, which was great. Clean and crisp, with the taste of espresso but not overpowering and not overly sweet. And her Panna Cotta was good also, smooth, chilled, not too sweet. But my Crème Brûlée was very good. The sugar was thin and not burnt, also smooth. And I tasted all the vanilla, with the visible beans. I highly recommend the Ravioli.

Love their pizzas and the relaxing vibe here. The aubergine one was my favourite and surprisingly super yummy. Came back another day for the spicy chorizo one which was also very good. Don’t eat cheese but forgot to ask not to have cheese when ordering at 2nd visit but the gentleman who served the pizza to me was very kind and immediately returned the pizza to kitchen without question when I told him that and brought me a new one without cheese 15minutes later. Will definitely come back next time in Paris.
Highly recommended for everyone who wants a slice of good pizza 🍕 (espresso is very good too)

Amazing place to get a quick bite after a long day of travel as this is right next to the train station. Plating and presentation is a big deal here. You get the fancy feel at a very reasonable price. If you are staying at the hotel above the restaurant you also get a 20% discount. You do have to pay for water. The Spaghetti was a little bland. However the ravioli was amazing. There are only a few vegetarian options.

Food was very good!
I had no problems after eating it, which speaks to the freshness and quality of their ingredients as well as their attentivness to cooking.
I'm here visiting so I need to try other places, but I would definitely come back! I'm visiting from America, so I'm not familiar with local customs, and this was the first place I ate.
I paid with my debit card (food was priced reasonably, despite being in a high tourist area). There was no option for tip on the card, but I'm not even sure if its a custom here, so if you're gojng to tip, bring cash.
My waiter spoke English and was very helpful and professional.
Bathroom had graffiti written everywhere, but from what I seen throughout the city, it's absolutely everywhere, so I guess it's normal?
Anyway, great place to stop in and eat!

Fantastic little place incredibly close (couple of mins walk) to Gare de Lyon so really convenient. Really great selection of draft beers ranging through French craft, Belgian and German, plus a great selection of interesting bottled things. The burgers were excellent and service was super friendly. Really strongly recommended, especially if you need somewhere to pass some time close to the station 🍻

Tucked round the corner from Gare de Lyon is this great little establishment. We popped in as we were staying nearby but wanted something better than hotel beer.
As we both like trying different beers this made this place a great choice. For us awkward tourists you never quite know the protocol when going in to somewhere like this, but we were soon sat at a table by the friendly barman who took our drinks order and popped back with a menu and specials board. While I can read and speak some French, the barman soon took pity on me and translated a couple of the menu items I was unsure of, we did not want much so grabbed the little chicken kebabs with dessert option.
The food was great, served nice and hot and arrived quickly. The Savernoise beer was a local brew and very pleasant if you don't want anything too strong.
If you're in the area and want a nice quick bite and a beer you'll not be disappointed.

Excellent selections of craft beers! Glad I stumbled across this bar. Prices are cheaper than neighbouring bars. Friendly waiters and bartenders. Absolutely love the vibe. Went back the next day for food and wasn't disappointed. Would definitely recommend you to visit when in Paris.

(July 2010) Weird! Given the tap choices and prices this place would have a claim as the city’s best specialist beer bar but the vibe and cliental is likely to keep many away. Rough as guts bar that services the local ’hang around the train station’ types and low brow punters. Service is good. Beers of interest, at the time of visit, included St Bernadus blond, Bourgogne de Flanders and St Feuillien saison. Pay about eur 2.50 to 3.00 at the bar.

After losing the rugby and wandering back to our hotel we stopped for a nightcap. The place itself is nothing special but the atmosphere and locals, this is a bar used by local rail staff, are the most friendly and forthcoming.
Ok we were the only English in there and France had won but it wasn't all about the rugby.
The owner treated us to a drink and so did a couple of locals. For just one drink before bed we spent over two hours such was the company.

Before me and my friends traveled further to Barcelona, we had a lunch break here. Staff is very friendly, and prices are not too high. There are enough places to sit, but the only thing is: there’s no toilet, so you need to go to the station for a toilet. But anyway: this is a great spot to eat and drink something and then continue your journey. Very nice location right in front of the station!
