Agree with other reviews-a cozy spot sans tourists. Garlicky onion soup, house made bread, salad and a glass of wine sitting by the windows and the heater was a perfect lunch after an hour wait to enter Ste. Chapelle and walking around the just reopened Notre Dame. The server was very pleasant and wanted to get our order in “before the chef flies away.”

The cozy atmosphere and wonderful service made this dining experience a true highlight to our trip. The food was delicious and fresh. It was a hearty, homemade French meal. My husband had baked fish and I had a ratatouille quiche. This did not feel like a space where many tourists visit. It was a wonderful find for us and gave us a chance to experience French cuisine not too far from our hotel. The server and chef were gracious. It is a place we hope to return to someday.

Dropped by this quaint place during our son’s birthday. We were all tired from walking around the whole day, but there server really made us feel welcome, traditional French cuisine which was fantastic. They even gave us free slices of cake to celebrate our son’s birthday.
Came back the next day to have more food and dessert :)

Samuel was the best waiter i’ve had the pleasure to meet in Paris! This place has a cozy and warm atmosphere, also thanks to him. The food was exceptional, i really recommend la quiche lorraine!

needed a warm place to retreat from the cold after visiting Shakespeare & Co. and stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. had tea while waiting for dinner service which only starts at 7pm. they have wifi if you need it. it's a beautiful, elegant and quaint space. i love that it's dimly lit, gives you a very 80s-restaurant -n french-movies ambience, along with the framed artwork and shelved books. ordered croquettes de camembert (most divine), daube de bœuf (which comes with tagliatelle) and the salad that comes with cheese. they were all delicious. the waitstaff were warm and friendly.

It was an interesting experience to try the kushiage concept (Japanese deep fried food on a stick). We took the 58€ menu to have the sashimi, sushi and palate cleanser on top of the basic 48€ menu. The frying technique was good, crispy, no soggy (except the scallop). But not much flavors lingering in my mind though, or maybe we are too used to french dishes which always pair the main ingredients with the sauce to elevate the flavors. In any case, worth a try for the concept.
Ps: we really liked their green mustard

The food was delicious, and not so small. Service was excellent
Daniel Sasson - a month ago
It was good but did not keep up to our expectations. The service was super friendly and fast. We ordered the menu with the extra sashimi. All in all, you get plenty of small dishes. They are good but miss richness in flavor. On the other hand, the sauce given to the fried sticks, tasted like a very salty Worcestershire sauce not fitting in my opinion.
Michael Luwado - 5 months ago
We tried 58 euro menu.
1 more sashimi and Chazuke than the 48 euro menu.
15 different fried meat, vegetables and seafood.
Try the Sake there to pair the fried food, it will give you some fresh feeling.
The price is very reasonable for Paris. Recommend people who like the fried food to visit, but not a place for good sushi or sashimi.

One of the best meals we had in Paris! The set menu was extremely thoughtful, service was wonderful, and the attention to details elevates the whole experience. The decor was very homely and comfortable, but the food and service is gourmet.

Andreea is probably the kindest French person we have ever met, which is lucky since it is very hard to find a friendly person in France. The atmosphere is very nice. The food could be more aromatic, but we went as a group of 5, ordered 4, and they opened the service for the 5th person without us asking. These are small but important details.

Stopped by for lunch on my lunch own and the staff were super friendly and accommodating of my efforts to speak only in french, breaking Parisian stereotypes! Perhaps the best french onion I've had! Full of spices and flavour.

This restaurant is an institution that’s true, hence I was keen for a girlfriend’s lunch for two. However as time progresses service can fade a little here, unless they know you.
I Was back here in this area of Cluny after a while and was taken aback by the manager Malik who truly complained about why I won’t give his restaurant a great rating. The reason being I want to be true to my reviews and here the food and service is average seriously. The mussels moules were without any taste..and the fries not made fresh. I hope when back I get to eat a really fresh meal malik. Merci à la prochaine

My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon together in Paris at Le Balzar. The food and drinks was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was so romantic. The service from Kelly was perfect and he was able to recommend cuisines perfect for our special night. Kelly really got to know us and plan something special for us. Knowing someone who can speak English really help helped us out.

Lovely meal! Great service! The best indian restaurant in Paris!!! I’ve never had such great service! As you can see from the photo the table and view is wonderful!

We booked this place based on Google reviews and were very satisfied. The staff were very hospitable, spoke English enough for us to order with no errors and were polite as ever. We ordered drinks, starters and mains and were not left waiting despite it being relatively busy. The food was outstanding. The lamb korma has to be one of the best I’ve had. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Paris and are looking for good dinner vibes in the Latin quarter. Ask for a seat by the window for some people watching entertainment!

Customer service was excellent. Warm and friendly. Waiters were attentive and pleasant.
Nice deco, clean resto.
The food was good, but to be honest, it’s not the best Indian food that I have. A little bit bland compared to some other restaurants I have been but, still very flavorful because Indian food is naturally quite flavorful, so the curry sauces were just a tad less what I was expecting.
The soup in the entrée was quite delicious. I was expecting the samosas to be a little better, but hey, I still ate them because they weren’t bad.
They served us some nice cumin crackers (not on the menu, included in the service, so no additional charge) with some sauces, which included pepper sauce. I think it would be a good idea to leave these sauces on the table during the main course, for guests who wish to add some to their dish.
19euros for a 3 course meal (reasonable price for that area). Just wish we had a few more choices in that formula. Overall it was a nice experience.

This place is for people with a soul 🥰 who appreciate warmth ams passion vibes. I always make reservations to guarantee immediate availability. Gets really busy after 9pm.

We didn't know beforehand, which show it will be so I would advise to check before booking. The atmosphere was good, it became very festive and dancing started late in the night :)

Amazing food and great service. Good selection of wines as well. Japanese and French cooking merged into an Amazon omakase experience. High quality produce and sustainably used as well. Now while the attention to detail is fantastic and flavors are really good, I have to state that the portion size is on the smaller side. All tasting menus are of course smaller but this menu felt a lot smaller - get the mains (fish and venison) to be portioned bigger, something the team should work to improve.

Truly exceptional. The chef's concept was a welcome surprise, different from many Michelin star restaurants. The menu is seasonal of course and the overall experience is worth writing about. The wine pairing was well worth it, varying between wine and sake. We left thoroughly amused, satiated without being overly full, and only a little bit tipsy. We sat in the mineral lounge, which I preferred. Highly recommend.

An exceptional experience! The restaurant is intimate and the service is personable and very professional. The flavors are complex and interesting, and unique among the many restaurants in Paris.

Don’t miss this unique dining experience. The service was especially interactive because you are not told the dishes in advance and get to discuss flavors between courses. Perfect to celebrate a special occasion. Highly recommend wine/sake pairing as well as sitting in the “cave”!

What a fantastic dining experience it was at Sola. The dinner is a 10 course meal of French-Japanese fusion cuisine. Every dish/course is a surprise (you’ll get to know about the menu at the end of the meal) and very flavorful. The amalgamation of Japanese and French cooking techniques & ingredients is really well done and is one of the most unique I’ve had this year.
Service is really good with the people at the restaurant being very kind and polite. The restaurant also catered to my allergies.
All in all this place is a must visit in my view if you’re in Paris for a vacation and are living close by.

We've been visiting this jazz club for several years now. Earlier this month, we lucked out and were there for the late Sunday night jam session. We had a blast! The music was fabulous, the crowd enthusiastic, the staff as welcoming as ever. It feels like a real slice of Paris life.
Trinity Fuentes - 3 months ago
The waitress, the food, the wine, the live jazz, the atmosphere....what can I say....AMAZING! My favorite part beyond the music was the intimacy of the restaurant/jazz bar. The service was quick. I could see the man in the kitchen working diligently to get everyone's orders out hot and fresh. The waitress had great recommendations for a snack and wine.

There a live concert by a duo who were really great. The concert was free but for the drinks, which were reasonable. The staff were kind and, it seems, really good to the musicians!

We came to Monk for a late dinner and since it was pouring rain outside we decided to take a table deep inside the restaurant. From our table we could see the water running down the cobblestone street and hear the thunders but we were warm and protected from the wind and cold.
We had the hamburger without the cheese and beef tab with French fries. Both portions were big enough to satisfy the strong appetite. The beef was very tender and juicy. It was served with a tiny dish with caramelized onions and a small garden salad.
The service was quick and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The prices are reasonable too.
It was interesting to hear Freddy Mercury, Queens, The Weekend and Ariana Grande as a background music in France.
We also ordered a warm chocolate dessert with a vanilla ice cream, but couldn’t finish it. It was very good, only we overestimated our abilities. 😊
We had our very late dinner and when we left around 11:00 pm and there were still people in the restaurant.
I definitely recommend you to try this place.

We came here for drinks with some friends on Saturday night and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw there was live music. Very cozy and vibrant place. Even though we missed the happy hour, prices for the wine list were very decent for Paris standards. For beer lovers, they have an extensive selection of draught and international beer. The waiter was very attentive and nice to us.

A lovely little find tucked in a small street not far from The Seine and Notre-Dame. The food we ordered was delicious and filling, my husband had the avocado and mango starter and raved about it. For mains we had l’assiette berbere and l’assiette zen, both were very good. But I’m reserving the best praise for my dessert which was the apple pie/tartin. It was a generous portion of melt-in-your-mouth apples served with a chantilly cream. So good!

In a very cold winter day, after walking for hours in the city, The Tea Caddy was a nice stop to warm up a bit. They have a big collection of tea. One tea pot can serve 2-3 mugs of tea and it’s quite nice. Service is helpful with your order.
