The location is unparalleled, right on Place Des Vosges. The private courtyard is idyllic. The hotel decor is a bit dark, but the choice of materials is exceptional.
The room we stayed in was rather small, and the bathroom (toilet was in separate room) didn't allow for more than one person to use it.
The bed and linen were some of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. Felt like sleeping in the clouds.
The staff was incredibly polite, kind, helpful and professional. Everything was handled beautifully and we were left wanting nothing.
I would have no hesitation booking Le Pavillon de la Reine again

A beautiful historic space with a magical interior courtyard and cute old-school Parisian rooms.
Concierge was very helpful, but hoped the service was more consistent. One morning our breakfast which was supposed to be delivered just never showed up.

This hotel is amazing. Stunning location, beautiful rooms and the service is outstanding. It feels like a secret enclave that you feel lucky to know about. This hotel is a perfect expression of Paris and look forward to staying here next time.

Absolutely disappointed in our stay here. We checked in on Sunday (traveling from San Francisco) and was told by a letter in our room there would be “some” maintenance work during the day for a couple hours. They are doing work in the room above us and across from us starting at 7 am going all day. We are still adjusting to the time difference and find these working hours completely unacceptable. We have complained twice to management and they are doing absolutely nothing about it besides offering us some chocolate. The least they could do is offer us an upgraded room away from the maintenance work. They also said it was only going to be a day and now we are on day 2 of this. We are not sleeping through the night and now can’t sleep in the morning because of this. I will never stay here again. Disappointed in the hotel and the staff as this place was highly recommended by family who lived in Paris.

Our hotel concierge made reservations for us and when we arrived we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Those who did not have a reservation had at least a 2 hour wait! Seating as always was excruciatingly tight, the service was great and the atmosphere was fun, loud and boisterous. The food came out very fast and for the most part was edible! We both giggled when the duck arrived with “home fries!” It was our first dinner in Paris since arriving that morning after a 10 hour flight , we were very tired but we enjoyed it nevertheless! 🥰

food was amazing - as a certified foodie, this place was a gem. I had some lovely escargots covered in buttery parsley, duck breast with some rosé wine and the famous chocolate mousse (which can easily be shared with 2-3 people… the portion was huge). the food was great but my highlight was the staff members - they were fun and kind which made me feel comfortable as a foreigner traveling alone in Paris. Will definitely visit again! Merci :)

Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Recommend
Unfortunately, we had a really bad experience at Chez Janou. As non-French and visibly Muslim guests, we felt like we were treated very poorly by most of the staff.
When we arrived without a reservation, we were lucky that there wasn’t a line, and the host outside was friendly, so no complaints there. However, once we were seated, the service quickly went downhill. The waiter who took our order seemed intoxicated, which was already concerning. We ordered the duck dish, which had great reviews, but honestly, it was just mediocre—not bad, but definitely not extraordinary. That said, I won’t hold that against them, as it might just not have suited my taste.
The biggest issue was the service. Every time I tried to get a waiter’s attention, I was either ignored or met with rude facial expressions. I had to ask three times before I was finally served the chocolate mousse, and we waited almost 40 minutes after finishing our meal just to get our dessert. That being said, the mousse was incredible—probably the only thing that made the experience somewhat worthwhile.
Two particular waiters were especially rude and dismissive, which made the entire visit uncomfortable. The only saving grace was one kind waiter, Ameen, who treated us with respect and professionalism. Thanks to him, my day wasn’t completely ruined by the rest of the staff, and I truly appreciated his help.
Overall, I wouldn’t return. The food was average at best, and the way we were treated made it not worth it—no matter how good the mousse was.
Moroj Mustafa - 3 weeks ago
The menu is only in French, but if you have any questions, the staff can easily help you in English.
Like everyone says, you definitely need a reservation; otherwise, you’ll only have a chance to get a table after 10 PM. Another option is to stop by the day before and book a spot for the following days — that usually works too.
The seared duck breast was crispy and delicious, and the potato sides were amazing.
A lot of people ordered the mussels, and they were great! The pesto on top was perfect for dipping bread.
The only downside is that it gets really crowded, and the seating is super tight.
Still, it’s definitely worth a try!
Tony Lin - 2 months ago
Super lovely hostess who managed the crowd very well with charisma and kindness! The chocolate mousse lived up to the hype and was absolutely delicious but the rest of the meal was very mediocre. The steak was tough and chewy, risotto was SUPER heavy and sickening, mushrooms were okay but the escargots were delicious!

Prices are perfect! Totally not expensive, especially not considering this is in the middle of Paris!

Fantastic Cuban restaurant that serves great food! We had tapas of fried plantains, chipirones & torreznos with wine and beer. The restaurant has such great character with a great bar and nice wall decor. The one part of outdoor seating has sand which added to its ambiance. They also had a DJ playing great salsa music! Highly recommended!

Late night. Hungry. So we stopped in off street without reservations. We were seated immediately!
Prompt service. Food was good. Not stellar, but it hit the spot.
Highlight was the Dolcetto. Very good and good price.
Rocket salad also good.
Contemplating dessert as I write this.

The pizza at this restaurant was excellent - the crust was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.
The Caprese salad was also delicious, with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. Finally, the gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth tender and had a rich, savory sauce that was perfectly balanced. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for tasty Italian food.
Amazing Panna Cotta!!!
One downfall is that they do not take Amex (American Express).
Leandra de Labastida - 2 years ago
As others has written this is a very nice Italian restaurant with helpful staff and good food. It’s a little pricey and (though this isn’t so unusual for Paris) there were no high-chairs for our son, but we had a really excellent meal and will hope to return!

This Italian family restaurant offers an authentic and cozy dining experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is friendly. One of my favorite places in Paris. This little Italian place has a lot of entrées that I love : the vegetable plate, the eggplant parmagianno, the beef carpaccio… (they change the menu once in a while so you get to experience new ones every time you’re there.)
As for the pizza i always get the truffle pizza i love that its kinda spicy.
They also have a great wine collection.
And the tiramisu… that’s love.
I heavily recommend it.

Had the best lunch here! Excellent service, food was outstanding, and the picante oil can’t be beat! We had the prosciutto e bufala which was excellent, and one of the pizza specials which was called pizza chic with shaved cured pork, rosemary and arugula—also excellent. Our daughter had the margherita and loved it. Highly recommend getting the picante oil to drizzle on top! Just the right amount of heat!

Very good experience walking in off the street. They serve food continuously, so no break between lunch and dinner. The broccoli anti pasta was intentionally served cold but was full of flavor. The ricotta pizza was delicious. Don’t forget to ask for the picante oil. Would definitely go back.

Ordered a buff mozzarella with cherry tomatoes pizza and it was excellent - will happily come back for it.
BUT….do check your bill as my husband ordered the lunch menu (starter / pizzette and glass of wine) and we were charged for 2 glasses of wine whereas his should have been in his menu price.
Made the lunch a bit more expensive than planned and leaves a less than sweet taste in our mouth so buyer beware.

Love love loved this restaurant. One of the highlights of Paris for me! Must try the chefs steak, pate, escargots. Beautiful meal and no frills which suits my palate. Neighborhood gorgeous as well, with bars that are amazing surrounding the area for a post meal aperitif.

The service was phenomenal. The server provided great advice on wines, spoke English, and was super attentive. The food was just OK. The apple desert sounded great and looked interesting. It wasn’t great though. The atmosphere was really cool/quaint and they had air conditioning.

A stone’s throw from Place de Vosges, and all of the wonderful shops in the Bastille area. Our meals were beautifully presented and tasty. The onion soup and fried goat cheese salad were wonderful French classics. The lamb dish is a specialty and was delicious. The cod dish was also delicious. Don’t forget dessert— our favorite was the chocolate mousse.

Although we preferred French cuisine in Paris, we came here because we couldn't make a last minute reservation. We're glad we did. Everything was really delicious. The number of employees was low, we sometimes waited a little to order, but they were all very nice!

It's a wonderful place to hang out with friends and enjoy delicious tapas and paella. The paella portion was really huge; it was meant for two portions, but we couldn't finish it all. It was one of the best paellas I've ever had. They have a really delicious cocktail list, and I especially enjoyed one called the Valencia. It's very refreshing and tasty. All the staff were very nice and friendly, and the restaurant was packed with people, even on Sunday. I had a great time there. I would definitely come back!

A cozy atmosphere, and delicious food. It is the perfect taste of Spain in France. The staff and owner are amazing and friendly people. You go there for the good times (we went twice in our one week stay nearby) ❤️
100% recommend the Paella Negra de Chipirones.

I visited this restaurant after returning from a trip to Barcelona. The atmosphere and appearance looked good. However, the servers were not knowledgeable about the menu and could not answer our questions about the dishes. The bread was of extremely poor quality (we're in France, aren't we?); it was cold and had an unpleasant odor. The dish with canned tuna somehow managed to make the tuna smell bad. The octopus had no flavor at all. The potatoes in the tortilla were dry and lacked the juiciness this menu is supposed to have. When we inquired about the source of their bread, we were told it came from a "special supplier", but frankly, even mass-produced bread would have tasted better.

Came here a little late because it was the only slot available. Had high hopes for the boeuf bourginon but the taste fell a little flat for me. Everything else was delicious however, and our waiter was great- until he took our order for dessert and left without delivering? Prices also ran a little high, not sure I will return again.

Been twice to this typical French bistrot!
Great decor, authentic Parisian vibe and very kind staff!
Their signature dish is the bœuf bourguignon served in a casserole: very tasty, tender meat with delicious & perfect mashed potatoes! (Though not the best boeuf I’ve ever had but ranked in the top 5)
The second time, we tried the côte de boeuf: succulent meat, savory, well seasoned with delicious baby potatoes. Well worth it!
Nice selection of wine (Chateauneuf was exquisite).
And their Mont blanc dessert was superb: unctuous chestnut cream with soft meringues… hands down the best dessert on the menu. The chocolate fondant was very tasty as well.
Unmissable address for a true Parisian experience!

I had a good feeling about this place and it's safe to say it was well worth the try. We chose this place to have dinner on New Year's Eve and the food was delicious, the staff had a vibrant energy and we had an amazing time. Also, as I discussed with a waiter, the pop music contributed to the not-too-serious and fun atmosphere. Will definitely visit again once I return to Paris!

Narrow and noisy, but that might be a plus to someone, and very Parisian.
Definitely get the Beef Bourguignon. It is that good!
The rest of the menu is worthy too but get at least one beef bourguignon at the table.
And some good wine to go with.
And don’t be silent while eating, engage in a good conversation, as it should be done and is well explained in the French Revolution area at the Carnavalet Museum nearby.

For our introduction to French cuisine, we chose this restaurant as our first stop. It’s one of the few places that open before 12:00 PM. The atmosphere is very authentic, with a pleasant vibe and friendly staff. We ordered two coffees and the braised beef, which was the main reason we came. Overall, the food was tasty, but nothing extraordinary that we’d want to try again. The total bill for two people came to 63 euros, which is an average price for Paris. Overall, we would recommend visiting this place.

We recently dined at Qui Plume la Lune and were served the 5 course (Angela) dinner with wine pairings which lasted just over 3.5 hours.
Service throughout was professional, at times there were long lapses in between courses. However everything served on the evening was excellent.
Most enjoyed on the evening were the cold soup (starter), lamb (main) and cheese selection. Staff explained dishes and wines in good detail, execution in the kitchen was in perfect form on the evening.
All in all, this was a lovely dining experience. Very impressed on the evening and would gladly reserve for another meal at Qui Plume La Lune during future trips to Paris.

Just amazing. Food is outstanding, been to a few * restos in France, this seemed the best so far. Exclusive and special without being up themselves. Attentive but not intrusive, serious about food and wine but not obsessive, time flew by and allowed us to focus on savouring the experience in great surroundings. It made a special night extra special, not cheap but great value. Congrats to the team.

I had menu Theodore (49 euro, a 3 course meal). In my opinion, it was a great value for its price (the portion was quite big too). All the dishes, especially the appetizer, were exquisite and intriguing. The servers were attentive but did not provide sufficient information about dishes such as what order I should be eating and the ingredients.

Qui Plume la Lune was a delight from start to finish. How is it possible to feel awestruck by food? Dine here to find out!
The service was attentive, and the dishes were out of this world incredible.
We had the Angèle tasting menu, along with a few complimentary canapés and the cheese platter. The fish dishes were light, sweet and flavourful but the true star for us was the white asparagus sorbet. The flavours complemented each other beautifully and all we could repeat to each other was ‘wow’.
We can’t recommend Qui Plume la Lune enough. If ever you find yourself in Paris, do yourself a favour and reserve a table here!

Absolutely delicious. The food had excellent flavors and fresh tastes. The staff is incredibly friendly. I saw that there was a person who gave the restaurant 1 star because they didn’t allow bathroom access to a non customer. Whoever you are, shame on you. There are restaurants that gain their livelihood on whether they get good reviews or not. Thanks again, for the great meal. Would recommend 10/10.
