My wife and I had a wonderful lunch at Benoit during our recent stay in Paris. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. The cassoulet and tenderloin were both particularly excellent. The Michelin Star here felt very warranted, and we both agreed that Benoit offered a great value for our money. Be sure to make a reservation, as they were not accommodating walk-ins while we were dining. We will definitely return on future trips to Paris!

Nice atmosphere and service. Delicate cuisine. Tried my ever first escargots in my life and it was quite unique and satisfying. The lunch combo was an adequate choice for a great meal. The parisian flan was also beautiful ending. We were also served with plenty of small French desserts which tastes wonderful.
I recommend this place for a great meal. Remember to make a reservation first.

Intimate setting and service, dainty decorations, good food, pretty place. Couple of normal diet and vegetarian both had full lunch menu and were satisfied. Only complaint is the ice cream was too sour and bitter to have more than a taste of. But, the chocolate mouse and other small treats were very good.

Benoit, a Michelin-starred establishment, fell disappointingly short of expectations. The typically stellar service associated with such restaurants was sluggish, orders were incorrectly taken, and the cuisine itself lacked the finesse and flavor one might anticipate. While the prices were certainly in line with a high-end dining experience, the quality of the
food did not justify the cost. In all honesty, you'd be better served enjoying a week's worth of satisfying fast food than wasting your time and money at Benoit.

Pretty good place with traditional food and what feels like a traditional Parisian ambiance. Service was good, escargot was good, and the rabbit dish was unique with a lot of flavors. None of it was exceptional, though. Complementary cheese pastries were really good, too!

Great place to get compose-it-yourself salad at the foot of the Tour St Jacques. Lots of ingredients to choose from to put on top of a self selected base.

After walking for a whole day, I walked into this cafe because of yelp review. And it is great. Great cheese cake. They don't have English menu but the waitress was very helpful with the translation.

You pick a base (variety of salads, baguette pizza or flatbread), then you pick your toppings. It's all kinds of things you'd expect at a salad bar. My salad was big and filling, and exactly how I wanted.

Nice place for brunch. Took longer than expected to be served. I ordered scrambled eggs but was served fried eggs, and it then took a long time to receive the replacement. However, to give due credit, eggs were scrambled perfectly.

Traditional french food, good taste and presentation. Cooking standard is little different than what usually ordered in North America, we ordered medium rare but it's more like rare to my taste.

I come to Black Dog since 2005 to enjoy great steaks 🥩 in a unique atmosphere. The lomo is simply fantastic, the potatoes are delicious, specifically combined with the plate of 6 sauces. I enjoy myself every time.
Generally I come here for celebrations. I had my first date with my wife here, celebrated birthdays, promotions, basically all milestones. I brought family, friends and coworkers. Black Dog and the delicious steaks have become synonymous with good times in my life.
I love the variety of people eating here. You can find everything from metal heads to families and business men in this restaurant. Everyone enjoying a great meal!
I can’t recommend this place enough. I will be back, order my lomo erectus and have a great time. Again and again 🙂

Wonderful bar and restaurant with a metal music theme! The staff is absolutely charming and exceptionally accommodating! The food is phenomenal and highly recommend everything on the menu! Some of the best steaks we have had in France! Not to be missed!

If you like death metal, you have to eat dinner here or grab a beer here. In fact, everyone should.
I’m actually not a death metal fan but came as an open minded adventurous person. This place is the real deal and THE FOOD WAS AMAZING.
If this was a common jazz bar the line for the food would be wrapped around the street, and/or reservations would be booked out for months. It’s a secret gem in Paris.
Now, I have to say, it is still a secret because it is a *legit* death metal bar and restaurant. If you want to blend in wear all black and maybe spend a few months growing out a thick beard. (Pro tip: Grab a Shining t-shirt). It’s worth it!!
Meat was tender not fatty. The meat was imported from Argentina. The dipping sauce was flawless with the slightest hint of spice (not too much). The potatoes were the best, most potatoey, yellow potatoes I’ve ever had. There isn’t a near second I’m considering, I just know it was the best potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life. The dish I ordered was called “the threesome” on the English menu.
I. am. stunned. Absolutely excellent.

Very awesome bar! Cool decoration, good music and good beer.
Edit: In light of their response, perhaps we had a misunderstanding. Still leaving the original text below, and I'll add that the bar was very welcoming.
Fairly certain me and my girlfriend got kicked out of the restaurant section though, so maybe not a very tourist friendly place (we were obviously dressed as tourists, and we speak no French; never expected to stumble on this place). YMMV.

Rock bar, with some emo notes! Music is nice but it also has some interesting decoration! Of course beer is a must but it also offers more types of drinks and food! The general area of Les Marais is full of people from all backrounds and cultures, colour and sounds! It's worth a visit, even more than the area of Montmartre, as you can see the city from above in many more efficient ways regarding time and money! Before visiting Paris, make sure you have a detailed plan of traveling and sightseeing as it might be too much for a couple of days. About 6-9€ per drink which is normal for Paris! Many kind people ready to help and the stuff is most joyous too!

Everything was so perfect. Such an amazing experience. The food was incredible. They don’t have a wine list as they prefer to make a personalized recommendation. On both instances, the absolutely nailed it! Definitely a Paris must try!

A small French bistro with an attractive rustic space. Excellent vibe and very pleasant service. The food was good but not great. The most interesting aspect of this place is that there is no wine list. The waiter who I presume is the owner simply asks if you prefer a lighter or more full bodied wine. We started with a lighter wine and were presented with a generic Burgundy and for a more full bodied wine we were given a basic Rhône—none of which were inexpensive and appeared to be natural wines. Personally, I prefer to choose my own wine from a list—a list that has a variety of wines not just natural.

And the food is just so so good. From fish to amazing beef. I’ve been there a few times, recommended to friends and everyone loves it.
The menu always change. The planche mixte is delicious

A very high praise for a very good place. We were greeted, seated and served quickly for their set lunch menu. Their knowledge of wine was excellent and they enjoy picking the wine to your tastes. My preferred red was 3rd taste in, my partners was guessed first time.
Service was excellent, warm and inviting by all servers and excellent English speaking staff.

Been long time wanted to try this restaurant. Finally I had nice dessert time with my good friend here last night at the Châtelet–Les Halles branch which is nice neighborhood to hangout.
We had shared dessert a huge poffertjes/ giant choux cream with banana, almonds and chocolate dressings.
Taste really good for share but I think will be too much if you have for yourself only.
And the frozen yogurt here really good and taste healthy.

Stopped by for Happy Hour because of the good google reviews on December 1, 2024 at 15:00. The service and drinks were excellent. Great beer selection and they exclusive wines of Alsace AOC Wines. Manon our server was fantastic. I also want to thank the manager for letting us have drinks inside since it was cold outside.

We ordered the Fresh Mushroom and Primeur both of which were reasonably priced and tasty. Crust was crispy, ingredients and white sauce ingredients just perfect. These were both good tarte flambes worth ordering again. Would gladly pop in for a quick and light bite at the Flam's on Lombards.

This place is so fun! The food is excellent - look up what a flammenkueche is before you go, for sure, but definitely go! The space is an oasis of awesomeness in a chaotic neighborhood, the people are SO KIND and so friendly… and the food is better than I hoped. And I went in with high hopes.
To be sure, this is not jacket and tie fine dining, but it would be an excellent date night or a super fun night out with friends. And bonus: My dessert came out ON FIRE (so that may be giving me a bias) but really the place is sicerely just that good.

Temple Rock Tavern – Where Music and Pints Collide
Some nights in Paris aren’t about sophistication or subtlety; they’re about letting loose, raising a glass, and enjoying life’s raw, unpolished pleasures. Our evening at the Temple Rock Tavern was one of those nights. Tucked into Rue des Lombards, this Irish-inspired pub delivered exactly what it promised: good beer, loud music, and an atmosphere where strangers feel like old friends.
We arrived just as the night’s band was taking the stage—a local group whose charisma matched their talent. Their energy filled the room, spilling over into the crowd, which seemed more than ready to play along. It’s worth noting that the success of an evening here relies heavily on the audience, and we were fortunate to share the space with a lively, welcoming group.
The beer selection was impressive, with something for everyone. I would personally recommend the Paix-Dieu, a strong and flavorful choice that fit the vibe of the night perfectly. But here’s where a note of caution comes in: the prices. Before the band starts, a round for four—including pints and draught beers—might cost you between €20 and €35. Once the music begins, however, the prices climb sharply to €35–€55. It’s a significant leap, and one worth planning around.
The service was friendly and efficient, despite the growing crowd. The bar staff handled the surge of orders with skill, and while the atmosphere grew raucous, it never felt chaotic. The wooden interiors, the dim lighting, and the long bar lent the space a timeless quality, making it easy to lose track of the hours as the music and conversation flowed.
Temple Rock Tavern is not about fine dining or hushed conversation—it’s about immersion. The music, the beer, the crowd—it’s all part of a single, unrelenting pulse that defines the place. Whether it’s the playlist, the band, or the people around you, every night here is shaped by the energy of the moment.
Rating: 4/5
A great spot for a fun, lively night out in Paris, the Temple Rock Tavern captures the spirit of an Irish pub with a Parisian twist. While the price hike during live music hours might sting, the overall experience is worth it—especially if you arrive early, grab a good beer, and let the night unfold.
Cláudio Cardona - 3 weeks ago
Great venue for live music, but Americans beware, french bouncers don’t just let anybody in. They may refuse to let you in for reasons as silly as you’re by yourself. However, this happens all over Paris, not just at Temple Rock.
Other than that, the at is atmosphere is excellent and the bands, just plain awesome!
They have an interesting selection of beer as well.

Stumbled in here and we had a great time! There was an 80s cover band playing which was really fun. We had a few drinks but didn’t stay too long. There was ample seating inside and easy to order drinks, they have some tables and seating outdoors as well. Overall a fun little bar if you’re in the area.

Serendipity, found an Irish pub in Paris and rushed straight in. There were so many people, and there was a live band in the evening. We sat in the front, and it was a special feeling. Ordered drinks, watching the band's live performance. The atmosphere is very good, lively and happy around. Sleepless nights.

I went on a Monday night and had a great experience. It is true that not many tables were taken, so it was a slow night, but the waiter that looked after me was really nice and attentive. Got me an English menu, checked if they had what I wanted (they did) and would check in on me regularly.
The food was also really good. I had the tuna tartare and the pavlova and they were both faultless.
