Place des Arts Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 Star Rating

5 Star Rating This downtown Montreal venue is amazing and the world famous annual Jazz Fest is almost indescribable. A short version: over a full city block of revelry, constant stage entertainment at every corner, happy smiling folks and of course food and beverages. Plus, well known artists and acts inside at the ultra modern theaters.

5 Star Rating Yesterday we were there to watch the show of "Mutantes", a Brazilian band that has been successful since the 60s. It was incredible to be able to watch this show outdoors and for free. The space is great for concerts.

5 Star Rating Visiting Place des Arts in Montréal was more than just attending a performance—it was an experience that resonated on a personal level. The moment I stepped inside, I felt a vibrant energy, a blend of creativity and anticipation in the air. Surrounded by people who, like me, were there to be moved by art, I felt connected to something bigger. It wasn’t just about what was happening on stage, but the sense of community and emotion that filled the space.

5 Star Rating We went to go watch the Montreal philharmonic play their tribute to John Williams. It was a great experience to watch. Only drawback was I didn't know much French but I was able to pick up on what the conductor was talking about.

5 Star Rating A lot of joy and entertainment takes place here, but to get into most events tickets are required. Many celebrities have entertained here, starting with Harry Belafonte (1963) an "activist and entertainer with a ‘rebel heart'", later (2008) Mr Leonard Cohen the one and only, and Sting in 2012 with an iconic intimate performance. Community events are held here too, such as graduations and performances. Entrances are numerous and functionally confusing, but arriving on the metro means immediate access to the building.
