This is one of the best tables in Montreal and I stand by it - I've been dining at Bouillon Bilk for almost 10 years.
If you like scallops, their version is a classic for a reason. Always perfectly cooked and paired with seasonal vegetables. Keep the bread to pick up all the delicious sauces that come with the dish.
All the other entrees and main are good, creative and beautiful to look at. The service is premium - I never got a bad wine pairing with my meal.
I highly recommend!

I am normally not a big fan of fine dining as I like more casual places. But this place is amazing.
The flavors and aroma festival. Very well thought creations with amazing ingredients. Duck breast, ravioli, tuna... All of them are top notch.
Definitely recommended.

What an excellent dining experience! We did the 8 course set with a non-alcoholic drink pairing as well as the Canadian wine pairing. Almost all of the non-alcoholic drinks were fantastic (the mushroom kombu beverage was not good at all however) and the wine was expertly paired.
The food was well thought out, beautifully presented, and had great flavours. It was contemporary but had classic but elevated flavours. Service was fantastic and the ambiance was okay. The food was the highlight of the experience, however, we would have opted for the 5-course instead of the 8-course in hindsight. The 3 additional dishes that we got as part of the 8-course were our least favourite (beets, trout, & chocolate).
I would come back for a special occasion sometime. Prices are fair, and we left feeling quite full!
9.2/10!

It is one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. The service was impecable, and our waiter and other staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The food was out of this world, every bite bursting with flavor, and the dishes were beautifully presented. I would 100% return, and I am looking forward to my next visit.

My third time here, they changed location but the food and service is perfect as always. The duck is so amazing and completely beyond my expectations. Will definitely visit again if I travel to Montreal in the future.

Pho both was very beefy and tasty, lots of meat. However, I prefer chili oil, which they didn't offer. Fast service too.

We passed in front of this restaurant quite a few times as we live nearby. we were looking for something different to eat so we decided to give it a try. Actually Lia had already been with some colleagues from her previous employment.
The interior decor is quite simple, the menu heavily favours combo options . We decided to go with the crispy chicken and rice as well as the pho. Service was OK. We kind of wish that we felt more welcome.
Accessing the restaurant by foot is quite easy. Parking is a different story. if you’re lucky you may find street parking on Saint Catherine St. otherwise there are a few parking lots available in the area.

Our original dinner spot was full, and out of convenience we tried here.
The food was delicious and came really fast. We had tea, beef pho, chicken skewers, and fried banana dessert.
Service was kind of robotic but that's fine.
The cleanliness and style is what's expected for the area, they really need a renovation, or at least a kick pull on the bathroom door.
Over all it was a satisfying experience.

Love this restaurant. It has stood the test of time and for food reason. I'm no connoisseur, but I lived in Vietnam for 9 months 20 years ago and this restaurant just feels right.
Great food, great service. I personally like the lemongrass pork chops and rice, but you can't miss no matter what you order.

I have been looking forward to go back since Covid, as it remained close and only started to be open for 3 days a week recently.
We had the 7 Beef course set meal and it was better than I remembered. Given the price went up, but generally dining out got expensive due to many factors.
If you have not try their specialties 7 beef courses meal, it is a must try next time you come here!!

It was such an amazing experience to try the 7 course beef, $90/2 persons. We also ordered the grilled calamari, the side sauce was super spicy 🥵

It's a downtown delight that not only offers a stellar service and chic ambience but also surprises with its reasonable prices. The attentive staff, sporting smiles, made us feel truly welcome. The sommelier ensured our glasses were never empty. The seafood stir fry served on trendy dinnerware was spot on. We loved the stylish, softly lit vibe - it was the perfect backdrop for an intimate evening. It's the perfect spot to enjoy an early dinner before heading to an event in the vicinity.

We are vietnamese. We have known Ong Ca Can for 3 decades. We still enjoy their food. The portions are generous. The food is great. I am told this restaurant opened in 1984 and is still owned and operated by the same family. I definitely recommend.

I was actually going for dinner and passing my this place and found this vibrant place! I stopped by as was curious to find out about this place and understood that there’s a improv play in the next 10 mins. I seemed interesting and decided to stay back( cancelled dinner plans) and must say it was fun experience! The improv artists were amazing with great acting( improv) ..I got to meet some artists( who do this part time/ hobby) and very humble and talented bunch of people.. Cafe was nice too with good options and some great cocktails too..
Highly recommended to visit for the overall package - plays/ performances/people and cafe.. excellent vibes ..

One of the few remaining really authentic places left in Montreal. I like their steamies. I don't often like fries, but I like theirs. I love sitting in that one seat at the front window and watching the world go by on St Laurent. Cash only!

Montreal Pool Room: A Legendary Experience
My visit to the Pool Room was an unforgettable one. The poutine was the best I've ever had, the fries were perfectly crispy, the gravy was like nothing I've tasted before – authentic and delicious.
Their all-dressed steamy hotdogs were like a hug from within, with perfectly buttered buns and fresh garnishes.
Family ran and operated, The restaurant's history is impressive – it's been around for over a hundred years!
I can't wait to go back for more poutine🍁

Decent classic style of poutine, made just how it should be with lots of gravy and cheese curds. Ordered their steamed hot dogs which were just okay. Good place to get quick poutine if you have a craving.
Hannah Hernandez - 5 months ago
The poutine was delectable, gravy and cheesy sauce over fresh, thick cuts of just-fried fries. Patient staff, well-managed (especially to the clueless tourists in front of me). Poutines and fries come in small and large sizes: shareable. Popular with locals and us foreigners. Burgers and hot dogs a staple too. Fun, casual, bus your own tray. Nice spot on the epic Saint Laurent Avenue.
Justin Rogers-Cooper - 7 months ago
The poutine was awesome and so were the delish hot dogs. It’s a landmark that’s been there for close to if not over 100 years, so it’s clear that the food has stood the test of time. If you reminisce about the Old Montréal taste of poutine and steamed hotdogs, then that’s the place to be.

The food took HOURS to come...and we still had people that didn't have our food....I have no idea what happened but I think they need to train their staff a little bit more... something went completely wrong at our stay...
It was the first day of our waitress and she was so sweet and nice. She just didn't get enough training or wasn't paired with someone with experience to help her. It just felt unfair to her honestly....I felt bad for her, she did the best she could.
I would avoid this place unfortunately, but if you're reading this waitress, you didn't do anything wrong you did the best you could and don't let anyone put you down, I really blame the owner of this restaurant that really let you and us down.

I like the seating of this restaurant. Although there’s air con but the restaurant is completely open to the side walk. There are no windows. It’s like sitting in the outside enjoying the fresh air and watch the cars and people going by. It’s a popular place. Crowded. The souvlaki combo is $20 tax included. Portion is generous. Fried potatoes are crispy. Rice and meats are tasty. They put all the sauce you requested in the bowl. But we did go back to ask for some garlic sauce to dip my pita bread. The staff are accommodating. I like this better than souvlaki bar. I’ll return.

We ordered mixed shawarma plates, and they were super fresh and tasted amazing.
We forgot to add salad to our plate, so we went back to buy it, and the cashier refused to let us pay for it.
Everybody was nice and respectful, so I really don't know what all those complainers are talking about.
Rojin Mansouri - 4 months ago
One of the best beef shawarma I have ever had.
I am so glad we decided to do a late night venture from our hotel room and find this gem. The only down side of eating here is that I am now ruined for eating donairs or shawarma back home in Alberta. Nothing will compare to their toppings and portion sizes. The hummus on the pita just made it pop so much and the meat was done to flavourful perfection.
The service was amazing and super friendly which just made the experience that much more. Also, super clean and really fresh, especially for a Friday night close to midnight.

Excellente poutine! Small size is definitely the best for one person if you’re a picky eater. Very nice place!

I had the large regular poutine to go, surprise me the scale of fries and cheese is nearly 1:1, gravy is nice! It’s perfect! Can’t wait to return and try other food in this place!

Best poutine in the city, no question. Got the famous smoked meat poutine and it's so good I'll probably dream about it. Great service!

Food court atmosphere with quick service. Card only, efficient service, but not in the super friendly range but no complaints. Petite size is filling. We tried Bacon and Smoked meats poutine. Both were good, not the best though. Good place to stop with a group who want different things.

Going to Central Market to eat and enjoy is always fun 😁...time flies quickly in this place. This time, I ordered a grande Tousqui poutine with a can of Pina colada. The poutine was filling, a good portion of meat in it, and delicious. I like the system of providing a buzzer to all customers to notify them about the order. The service was fast too, and it's usually a pickup at this place. I enjoyed my time and filled my stomach at Le Gras Dur Au.

Darbar deserves all the stars! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was simply incredible—authentic Indian cuisine at its finest. The attention to detail in the flavors made each bite unforgettable. You must also try their one-of-a-kind drinks!

We had an amazing evening at Darbar. The food is excellent: flavorful, authentic yet modern, and well balanced. Cocktails were also good, but what we loved most was definitely the service. The chef/owner was patient, welcoming and gave us great recommendations; we could sense his passion and his love for his craft, which contributed in making the meal a memorable one.
We will definitely be back!

This is the best 5-star Indian restaurant I’ve been to. You can tell it takes a lot of prep work to make these dishes. So much flavour!! My girlfriend is pregnant too, and the owner even came over to make sure she was eating certain foods that was allowed for pregnant women.

I came from Toronto excited to try Darbar and it did not disappoint! We met with the chef to get his recommendations and had the malai kofta and a beautiful sweet and spicy shrimp dish. The food is amazing and is clearly made with love. The ingredients are fresh and local therefore the menu changes throughout the year. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip!

What a treat! The food was mouth watering incredible! The chef and owner was so hospitable and welcoming. He not only was in the back, but was also managing the front and serving. Treated us to a new dish he's curating on the house. Presentation, taste and texture of all of the dishes were on point. A hidden gem in Montreal. Definitely coming back. We ordered: tikki chaat (not currently on the menu), chicken saag gosht, lamb nihari, the most incredible malai kofta (nothing like I've ever tasted before), and bhindi. For dessert we had mango cotton candy kulfi with bits of spicy red chili chocolate ganache, and bourbon flamed gulab jamun.

A small Italian eatery nestled in the heart of Montreal. Friendly staff welcomed us into this cozy restaurant which has limited but satisfying Italian dishes. The food was freshly prepared and our party enjoyed all of the plates. Prices were on the inexpensive end for this non-upscale restaurant. We would eat here again but would try other restaurants in the area first. For those looking to mix things up without getting dangerous, try their pizzaghetti.
