We were greeted and promptly sat down with a dual menu. Delightful. My travel buddy and I had wine and I had a burger while she had a steak and both were delightful. Its lovely to sit next to the old garage door and watch the world walk by. Recommend the atmosphere as the music was not too loud and employees were friendly. Food did not take long to come out. Would go back again.

Absolutely awesome! It's one of the coolest restaurants/bars I've ever been to. The space was super clean and inviting. The Duck Confit salad was incredible, as were all the beers we had. Staff were generally friendly. They were super quick and attentive. Will definitely be back next time I am back in Montreal

Sorry but we were underwhelmed by NYCS. We stopped in on a Friday and sat at the bar. We were told we’d have to leave in a short while as the bar seats were reserved. That’s was new to us.
We quickly ordered calamari and drinks. While the beer was good, the wine glass had at most 3 ounces. And when the calamari came, it was flavorful but tough. We bolted never to return.

I had a really great experience at NYKS with my mom and brother. The food, service and atmosphere were extraordinary. I couldn't believe how busy it was for a Sunday night, but after trying the food, I could definitely see why. We got the duck poutine, flank steak and fries, creme brule and french onion soup. All of the food was outstanding and we surprisingly finished all of the food in the restaurant. We were still talking about the food days after.

This pub was such a charming and laid-back spot to relax, with such a cozy vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. Whether we were enjoying a drink or just soaking in the ambiance, it was the perfect place to unwind. We loved spending time there during our two nights in Montreal!

Excellent BBQ ribs! Nice clean with a good bar. The waiter and bartender were great. The atmosphere is great too. I saw a lot of people eating the ribs, so they must be a favorite.

I had an incredible dining experience at Bâton Rouge! The food was absolutely delicious cooked to perfection with amazing flavors that really stood out. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was presented beautifully and tasted just as great.

Great food, excellent service. Atmosphere is good. However, a couple flies made it in--which were annoying. Not their fault. Highly recommend for some good food, with reliable quality.

I recently tried the Big Devil Burger with fries at Baton Rouge Grillhouse in Montreal. The burger was a classic American diner experience—juicy, flavorful, and well-prepared. The fries were crisp and paired well with the meal.
The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of seating, but it’s clear that time has taken its toll. The décor and furniture show signs of wear, giving the place a dated feel. While the food is enjoyable, the ambiance could use a refresh to match the quality of the dishes.

Good place, with very good music, good service and a varied menu of beers and drinks. All the options were well served and at a fair price. The Cactus beer was amazinnnnggg, the Bretzel was delicious and enough for for people to share. Good option for going with friends:)

Amazing outdoor space. I recommend the DunkelKong beer and the bretzel! Amazing pretzel I loved it. Nice curried mustard situation. The indoor space is a little weird too black/dark and too much leather on the seats. Servers are super friendly!

I've enjoyed the beers here for several years. The outdoor seating in the warmer months is fabulous. The staff is friendly and well-informed about the various beers. If you are unsure what to order, the staff will guide you. The beers are amazing. Cuda is one of my favourites. Try Frida and Gertrude. You'll come back for more!

Huge patio that allows dogs. The beer was excellent, food tasted good, service was quick, and it was affordable. It's a great spot for a quick afternoon bite on a beautiful summer day.

A safe choice for ambiance and drinks; they have a wide variety of brews to choose from and there's certainly one for every taste. Lots of seating, and rarely over crowded. That being said, don't bother with the food, it's simply disappointing.

Le Balcon offers a unique experience, blending live music, cabaret vibes and dining. The venue is tucked away at the back of the church, which can feel a little awkward when you first walk in. The space is somewhat limited and seating might feel tight on busy nights, but adds to the cabaret experience. Overall, Le Balcon delivers a memorable night with great music, dancing and good food.

Crossing a church to go to Le Balcon was a bit eery but at the same time kinda cool. Bathrooms are on the second floor. They are very old and not so clean. All staff members were courteous and very friendly. They spoke both French and English. Drinks are good. We assisted the 80s show. It was really fun. We sang our hearts out. The one ick that bothered me was that there were a few columns, and it obstructed the view of the performer, but it still was a great show.

We had an excellent evening of flamenco dancing, music and song while delighting on an incredible 3 course meal. An experience we will never forget. Thanks to Mila, the ticket lady, for her enthusiastic reviews about all the shows at Le Balcon. We will return there again and again.

In the heart of Montreal, where the shadows play,
An ancient church, now a stage, wears the twilight's gray.
Neon red blooms on the skin of night’s deep blue,
A beacon, a whisper, of transformations old and new.
Once hallowed halls now echo with applause and cheers,
Where stained glass once filtered heaven’s light and fears.
Brick and mortar, sacred and profane, beautifully collide,
Under the neon's glow, art and spirit reside.
The city breathes, the night descends in peaceful grace,
Red light a heartbeat, in its historical embrace.
From spire to spotlight, from prayer to performance flare,
The night falls softly on the church, reborn in neon's glare.

If I could leave more than 5 star review for the service, I would! Catherine was unbelievable and the ultimate example of EXCELLENT customer service. I wanted to treat my parents to dinner after a show they were seeing at PDA, for their 60th wedding anniversary, and wanted to treat them for dinner. Catherine worked with me to try to find a way that this could happen. She offered many different solutions and followed up at every turn. It was impressive!!! When my parents showed up at the restaurant, she treated them with white gloves and made sure their experience was memorable. THANK YOU Catherine for the unforgettable experience. Linda

I am really sorry to the owner for his selection of an incompetent and arrogant manager that was working on December 21st. We had the worst experience ever both from a service point of view and food quality. The waiter that she stated that she is also the manager was extremely unprofessional in many sense (communication and service). The food in general was of a lesser quality than a 4stars restaurant. Clearly I will never step in this restaurant in the future. I feel very bad for the customers if the quality and service is the same and also feel bad for the owner for his poor choice of manager !!! I gave a low tip for the poor experience we had and we got insulted in public for it, she told us that we are not allowed in the restaurant in the future!!! As if I will even consider it. I am stunned and surprise how did they get the 4stars

My colleague and I arrived at the restaurant late after a long day, having not eaten since breakfast. Despite our late arrival, close to the restaurant's closing time, Greg, our waiter, provided exceptional service. He was attentive, professional, and made us feel completely welcome. We were truly impressed by his outstanding hospitality, and the food was absolutely delicious!

Food was alright. Not a lot of taste in the chicken pad thai and it seemed to have a lot of pointless ingredients in it that took away from the good parts of it. My partner got the salmon and tuna poke bowl which looked and tasted much better. Other than that it’s nice spot to eat at and good decent service
Busch King - a month ago
The location of the place is pleasant, particularly when seated near the windows.
Overall, the food quality is satisfactory, but the portions at POKE are insufficient. We found the dishes lacking in salt and sauce. The bowls are oversized compared to standard plates and portion sizes (personal opinion). Despite this, the service was excellent, although they seemed understaffed with only one person attending to everyone (who was very attentive to us). Overall, it's still recommended.

An Asian fusion restaurant on Sainte Catherine street which is always crowded. We have to book on-line to get the table.
Food is more Asian. There are Padthai, PadSew, Wanton, Tao, Poké and Bao.
Mocktails are ok, not great. Food is good, not wow but it is alright if you are craving for Asian food.
There are also some outdoor tables.

I stumbled upon this sushi gem recently, and I can't stop raving about it! This place has quickly become my go-to spot for delicious sushi in town. The food here is incredibly fresh, and each bite is bursting with flavor. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just looking for a tasty meal, this place won't disappoint.
One of the things that really stands out about this sushi shop is the value for money. Despite the top-notch quality of their ingredients, the prices here are very reasonable. You get a lot of bang for your buck, which is always a plus.
In addition to their dine-in experience, they also offer catering services, which I've had the pleasure of trying at a corporate event. The sushi platters were a hit among everyone, and it added a special touch to the occasion. So whether you're hosting a corporate gathering or a special event, this place has you covered.
What's more, I find myself frequenting this spot regularly for weekday lunches. Whether I dine in or grab takeout, the experience is always consistent and satisfying. It's become a highlight of my week!
Overall, I can't recommend this sushi spot enough. From the freshness of the food to the affordability and excellent catering options, it's a winner in my book. If you're in the mood for some top-quality sushi, look no further than this place!

It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to eat sushi. Because sushi used to be a street food, it was eaten immediately after being made. Every second that passed meant the loss of freshness of the sushi.
Vivian L - 3 months ago
We visit this place with our work colleagues at least twice a week. The sushi here is absolutely addictive! The blend of textures from the fish, panko, and avocado is simply perfect. I would give it a rating of 1000/10 and highly recommend it! Staff is always smiling and nice.

Came across this place by accident. Wasn't sure what to expect. But really liked the experience. Not much in the way of atmosphere, it's pretty much a takeout place. But the few tables it has were empty when we arrived and full when we left. Seattle roll and
Mango Tango were the favourites but everything was great and fresh.

Top-notch sushi in Montreal! Perfect rice, fresh fish, reasonable prices, and miso soup or iced tea is included with every sushi box. You can tell it’s a real family-run restaurant with a warm and friendly vibe. Highly recommended!

Stopped here for a bite to eat with my family while on vacation. It was a great spot for a good quality lunch. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. They “loved it” and I too enjoyed the meal. Great staff, great food. I had the chicken and waffles and I can say the sauce they give with it is absolutely amazing!!! Highly recommend this place and the chicken and waffles.

First timer: very nice experience and the waiter was friendly as well. It was 3 of us and 2 ordered the strawberry French toast and 1 ordered a fruit bowl and a smoothie. Also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes
The French toast was amazing, very filling, strawberries were great. I definitely recommend this breakfast dish. 10/10
Breakfast potatoes: were 10/10 definitely seasoned nicely and paired well with the ketchup.
I would recommend this place. Enjoy 😊

We were meaning to get a light breakfast and my wife and I were a bit shocked by what we got. The food was amazing though and our server was top notch. Even let us know about a few places we needed to check out while we were in Montreal. I don’t think there is anything on the menu that would be disappointing, judging by the look of everything as it went by. The breakfast poutine hit the spot and the French toast was perfect. Come hungry, leave happy.

Food was good, but in all honesty portion sizes could be a bit larger, especially considering the price range of this restaurant. Great and creative cocktails. Excellent ambiance and service. Chanel our waitress made our experience especially great though! She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and timely despite having to manage the whole second floor on her own for the night!

Unfortunately amidst the beautiful ambiance and moody lighting, the food was lacklustre. My friend got the duck confit pizza and i got the burrata pizza. The dough was fresh but the flavours were quite bland - there was a true lack of salt altogether. I appreciated the bread & olive oil with balsamic but olive oil was quite watery. My other friend got salmon and said she really enjoyed it! The cannoli filling was delicious but the shell was quite stale. The chocolate mousse was good, decadent but not overpowering. The atmosphere has a real wow factor but the food we tried was just dull unfortunately.

The penne pasta was hard to chew, not Al dente at all! And not much pesto sauce on it… was very dry. Seemed like they were too much in a hurry to serve it, tasted half cooked. Not much of it either for $23. Drink 🍹 was not that big for $18. Tasted ok. Bread was burned. Whatever wasn’t burned tasted ok. Staff and service were great and decor really fun but I’m not coming back. Glad I wasn’t here on a date, I wouldn’t have a happy face on 🙄. If you decide to stop by definitely don’t sit by the kitchen. It felt hot 🥵 and isolated. Pretty much everyone asked to be moved to a table. A bit disappointed ☹️

Unfortunately, Tiamo is a catfish. Although the decor and ambiance is great, the food and service fall well below expectations.
Our group of 6 arrived at 9:30 and only received our food after almost 2 hours of waiting. We had to ask for bread twice. The first time we asked, the waiter nodded disdainfully and never brought it. Maybe he was having a bad day?
We got the bread - which is really just pizza crust.
Our food wasn’t bad, but considering you’re paying $30 for a pizza, you’re expecting something great (especially when the service is bad). I also had a cappuccino which was poor quality and was charged $7 for it.
Think ownership needs to take better care of their servers or re-train them to justify the high price they charge for everything on their menu.
William Macdonald-Akbari - 2 months ago
The service was impeccable, the staff really went above to respond to our many requests and to make us feel comfortable. That being said, the food was a tad warm/cool upon arrival and a bit mid in portion and flavour. For a price point slightly above your run of the mill pasta place ($25-30 a plate instead of $15-20), we expected above-average taste. Overall a great experience.

Our family had a trip to Montreal recently and we decided to reserve a spot at Cafe Parvis for brunch. When we arrived at the location, we were a bit skeptical but it turned out extremely good! We ordered 4 dishes that both turned out well. However, some of the dishes, like the duck rillette , was less in quantity but very presentable. But it was made up with a comforting atmosphere as well as a good customer service.

Much fancier than I expected. Like bougie as hell.
I ordered two drinks/ cocktails and the shrimp sausage hot dog and came out CAD$65 more broke.
The cocktails were small and not strong at all despite having strawberry and rum Fraisier and a Czech spirit in them. And the shrimp sausage hot dog was interesting but the flavor was a bit mute and it just looked and sounded better than it actually was. Now the place was absolutely beautiful. A little historic looking with plants draped everywhere. It was amazing but yeah... this is a one time experience for me. Defibrillator just paid for the atmosphere and not excellent tasting foods.

We had a show nearby and stopped for brunch. Reservations recommended.
Lovely art deco style cafe.
The menu is amazing, there was at 5-6 items we could have picked. I went for the gnocchi with wild mushrooms and hollandaise sauce, my +1 went for the salmon rillette. Everything was absolutely perfect. Even the bread from a top notch bakery, every bite was flavorful, perfectly seasoned and balanced.
Service was friendly and efficient. Boozy brunch options are available, we surprisingly didn't go that route this time around but I'll definitely return.
Portion sizes were good, prices were on par with most brunch places in town, expect to pay in the 20-30$ range per person, more if you throw in booze.
I didn't really know what to expect from this place and was genuinely impressed.
