5 Star Rating This lovely hotel is v modern and the shower cubicle with a window into the bedroom takes a bit of getting used to but did make the bathroom much brighter. Maybe a blind or opaque glass could be added? Bed was so comfortable and the view from our window at night was spectacular (as shown) with all the building lights. Our room was on the 20th floor so lovely and quiet. Delicious breakfast and plenty of choice. Unlimited free coffee refills greatly appreciated. All the staff were so nice and helpful. Late check out available at midday was most unexpected, and it really felt that the hotel/staff couldn't do enough to welcome you.

4 Star Rating Everyone was wonderful from the very first front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping. The Nespresso and hot water kettle were a nice touch. They had a water fountain by the elevators with refrigerated water. The best part was the bed—it was much more comfortable than most hotel beds! Edited to add: I changed my five star review to four stars. People call this affordable luxury, which I think references the room, but I give this an overall four stars because I think the front desk service could improve significantly. The staff are very passive and quiet, not reaching out unless you ask questions. I also wish they had told me these things beforehand: housekeeping will come and clean your room even if you set your room to “do not disturb,” the water kettle may need a cleaning, and I received no welcome drink or note like the other patrons posted about (but I was granted an early check-in). In fact, people came into my room multiple times a day because my room would change each time I leave my room—I wonder if they were overcompensating for not coming the day before, even though that was what I had wanted and told them in person. (However, the housekeeping staff was lovely.) Lastly, the shower has a glass wall that leaves no room for privacy from anyone else in the room, so it is best to travel solo or with a romantic partner if you stay here. Also, I had tried to book a taxi the day before with the front desk, and they weren’t helpful and suggested I call Uber which canceled on me—I strongly recommend calling cabs if you need to be on time.

5 Star Rating This is by far the best hotel and best value stay we have had in Montreal. The room felt fresh, clean, modern and well considered. The bed was sooooo comfy and the shower was great. Nespresso coffee in room is always a plus, but a reminder that the European traveler likes the 2% milk with it. The arrival sequence was simple, we asked to store our luggage as we arrived early and to our delight the room was already ready so we were allowed to go straight up. They had our preordered welcome drinks all ready and a lovely welcome note to go with it. We had late drinks in the bar with some nibbles which were also tasty. Would recommend.

5 Star Rating My FAVE hotel in Montréal (and I’ve stayed at plenty!) Have stayed here twice now because of the great value for the price- rooms are new, modern, and clean and it’s a good location downtown. Room: The in-room personal products are very high quality and smell amazing. Honestly would stay here just for that alone 😅 Bed was super comfy, nice view, and room service is fast and so delicious; The restaurant is a destination on its own! Staff: The staff are sweet and welcoming. A special merci to Felix for helping me pack my smoked salmon/meat on my last day and the tall gentleman who delivered my room service twice, always with a warm smile. There was another gentleman at the reception who remembered my name- was very impressed with the service that you don’t see nowadays anymore. Lobby Bar: Enjoyed working with my laptop at the bar in the AM with a coffee from SoLit next door. Merci beaucoup and See you next October!

5 Star Rating This is Canada‘s version of First Watch. Fresh, fun, innovative, smash shops that are full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed the service and atmosphere. The weather was perfect and we sat outside our glasses empty and my wife absolutely orange ricotta, and dark cherry compote French toast. I had their Mediterranean wings, which were absolutely delightful. I would have that same lineup again and again. Highly recommend, would go back.

4 Star Rating Had breakfast here. Nice quiet joint with good customer service. Had some American Breakfast, Eggstraordinary and Crepe with Banana & Orange Juice. Breakfast on the whole was good. Loved the potato fritters. Waffles were tasty. The orange juice was a disappointment. It was freshly squeezed, that was great, but maybe the was not great. Not impressed with the crepe as it was overcooked and the Nutella was very less which didn't help the overly crisp crepe. Maybe it was one of a kind error happened while preparing it. But for sure, they should ensure that it doesn't happen again.

And coffee is refillable 👍 Their eggs Benedict are a classic, can’t really find a classic benedict in montreal.

5 Star Rating Wow is all I have to say! Everyone raves about Scwhwartz’s but this is definitely up there and has a bit more of a sit in vibe without sacrificing quality of the classic Montreal smoked meat sandwich. 5 Star Rating Absolutely HOUSED some smoke meat post physical activity and it was absolutely worthy. This place has a nice charm, and plays good music. Service was efficient and very well done. The food was excellent. We ate here around 6:30 on a Saturday on a holiday weekend and the crowd levels were not large at all surprisingly. Smoked meat gets a 10/10 l, but having said that, I have only ever had it 3 times so take my rating with a grain of salt. Has the Montreal charm you are looking for.

5 Star Rating We stumbled upon this landmark restaurant just walking around lost from all the construction in the city. The restaurant was busy, but we didn’t wait to be seated at the bar. The sandwiches are gigantic piled high with smoked meat. Even the kids meals are giant portions! The servers were great and attentive, and the price is reasonable given the amount of food served. If you didn’t make it to Swartz’s, try Dunn’s instead. In the heart of downtown and great ambiance!

4 Star Rating First time in shodan for lunch. We have ordered the sushi plate for 2 and added a sushi pizza. I believe if we will be just full only have sushi plate for 2.adding pizza we r too full. The fish are so fresh! However I find the rice is abit too soft and doesn't taste enough vinegar. Thus 4/5 for the food. Service is good, atmosphere is good. Will come back and try the dinner menue, heard the specialty rolls are good too. Sushi pizza is covered by smoked salmon. Find the rice is not crispy enough or maybe too thin to taste the crispness.

4 Star Rating Once inside Sho-Dan, I found myself underwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. The décor lacks character, with plain white tablecloths and a lack of any distinctive features. Instead of exuding a sushi restaurant ambiance, it feels more like an upscale Italian establishment catering to an older demographic. Unfortunately, my initial impression fell short of excitement. However, my disappointment took a turn when we decided to sample a variety of items from the menu. The sushi exceeded expectations, boasting a delightful freshness and appealing presentation. Accompanied by flavorful sauces, the culinary experience was elevated. The house drinks were also noteworthy, adding a positive note to our dining experience. While the staff exhibited kindness, there was a slight lack of enthusiasm, though the service remained decent. In conclusion, it's a venue worth considering if you're seeking exceptionally good sushi. The culinary delights outweigh the lackluster ambiance, making it a destination for sushi enthusiasts.

5 Star Rating It was a very busy Friday night when we arrived. Shortly after we got seated, our waitress Nicole kindly went over their daily specials and answered our questions with patience since it was our first visit there. She was knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant, so great first impression! We ordered a half dozen oysters, fish & seafood bouillabaisse and seafood rice casserole, with a tiger prawn for each. The texture and flavors are simply perfect and original, without being overpowered by the sauce. We were absolutely amazed by the quality and quantity of both dishes! Needless to say, we finished everything in the pot and loved every bite and wrapped up the night with a lovely dessert!

Just get it. 2) Roasted Sardines: one of our favorite dishes of the night. 3) Daily Catch: Incredible sea bream with an amazing chickpea salad and veggies. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. 4) Bouillabaisse: Highlight of the night. A must-try dish. Service: Top notch. Attentive but not overbearing despite the fact that it was super super busy even on a Monday night. Ambiance: We were seated in a quieter corner in the back and it was very nice.

5 Star Rating I had the pleasure of dining at Reuben’s Deli recently, and I must say, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! The quality of the meat was outstanding — tender, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth. Whether you’re craving a delicious sandwich or one of their specialty dishes, you won’t be disappointed. I tried several items, from their juicy sandwiches to the perfectly crispy fries, and everything was impeccable. 5 Star Rating The first thing I want to mention is not to trust the menus posted here, as they are outdated. One of their Famous Sandwiches is like $29, and not $19 as I saw in other posts. However, the food is delicious. I bought a sandwich to go and it came with A LOT of fries and some coleslaw. Two can eat out of it. And I must admit it was really really good. 5 Star Rating After a morning hike on Mont Royal, we were craving something hearty and decided to stop by Reuben’s Deli on Saint Catherine. It’s a classic spot in the heart of Montreal, and we went straight for their smoked meat sandwich. The sandwich was stacked high with tender, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned, and the rye bread was just right – soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. It was a really satisfying meal after the hike, but I have to admit, while Reuben’s was great, it didn’t quite beat Smoke Meat Pete out on Île Perrot. Pete’s still holds the crown for me in terms of flavor and that melt-in-your-mouth texture. That said, if you’re downtown and craving a smoked meat fix, Reuben’s is definitely worth the stop!

It was full of mint flavour and the chaat was served cold usually. Baigan bharta was really good as well. Take everything medium spicy. Indian level spicy is not predicted. Once it was extremely spicy and once it was not very spicy. Medium level of consistency is maintained well all the time here.

4 Star Rating This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in downtown Montreal. I haven’t been here in a while and was in the mood for Indian food. Reservation was easy via google. You get a message 2 hours before your booking to confirm or cancel your reservation which is cool. Don’t be fooled by the look of the place (needs a refreshment), the food is amazing. Their mango lasse is probably the best in town and so is their garlic naan, always fresh and out of the oven. I tried their chicken kebab appetizer for the first time and it was delicious 😋 It was tender and had the right amount of spice for most people. I would’ve liked it a bit more spicy but I’m the exception rather than the rule 😁 If you like fish don’t miss their Salmon Tikka, it’s my favorite dish, perfectly cooked and spiced. I’ve had the chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani here before and they were amazing. This time around they were both good but different. I don’t know if the recipe was changed. It was well cooked and was good but not what I was looking for I guess. I was full so didn’t get my favorite dessert, Ras Malai. You should definitely try it. Instead, I had chai latte which was heavy but really good. I needed my nap at that time, the postprandial coma was kicking in 😂😂 Overall, it was a good experience as always. Highly recommended.

4 Star Rating This location is next to a hotel and has an upscale ambiance. There is also a covered terrace in front just off the street. We ordered the banana strawberry Nutella toast and the combo eggs and waffle with extra toast. The coffee was additional. The waffle has syrup for the table included. The texture of the waffle was just a bit harder than I like but still okay. The french toast and potatoes were great. The portion sizes are quite generous. There is plenty of seating for one person up to medium-sized groups. The menu has vegetarian options for brunch and dinner.

4 Star Rating A great brunch spot alternative that won't have you waiting in a line around the block to get in. They serve breakfast until 5pm, so no need to rush. They also make a decent latte. They have a kids menu.

3 Star Rating On vacation in Montreal, kids were craving for pasta for dinner, saw this place near by our hotel. I know the reviews weren’t up there, but figured reviews aren’t always accurate. Just like my previous experience in Brussels, a high google review restaurant but turned out to be a tourist trap. So this Italian restaurant was decent, 3.9 stars was just about right. We ordered Penne with pink sauce with meat balls, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a large Caesar salad. Everything turned out okay, only the meat ball was kinda flaky, it wasn’t as good as traditional meat balls. Caesar salads were mediocre at best with bacon bites. Usually Caesar salads don’t have bacon bites. But the ladies that took our order was friendly and nice. Which is a plus for services. But the restaurant really needs some update, as it feels like outdated pizzeria in the 1980s.

5 Star Rating Very nice atmosphere and old Italian style. The service is very fast, our waiter was very attentive. Fettuccine pasta was amazing. Veal cutlet was too salty. If you order from the table d'hote, which was reasonably priced, you'd get salad or soup of the day for appetizer + dessert, tea, or coffee on the main course.

4 Star Rating We were craving italian food so we found this cute restaurant. We were quickly seated when we arrived. We ordered garlic bread, the tortellini gigi pasta and the pizza del chef. The food came quickly which is great because we were starving. The waitress was friendly and attentive, she always refilled our water without even asking. The taste and portions of the food are excellent compared to the price. Will definitely be trying our other items on the menu again!
