This lovely hotel is v modern and the shower cubicle with a window into the bedroom takes a bit of getting used to but did make the bathroom much brighter. Maybe a blind or opaque glass could be added?
Bed was so comfortable and the view from our window at night was spectacular (as shown) with all the building lights. Our room was on the 20th floor so lovely and quiet.
Delicious breakfast and plenty of choice. Unlimited free coffee refills greatly appreciated.
All the staff were so nice and helpful.
Late check out available at midday was most unexpected, and it really felt that the hotel/staff couldn't do enough to welcome you.

Everyone was wonderful from the very first front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping. The Nespresso and hot water kettle were a nice touch. They had a water fountain by the elevators with refrigerated water. The best part was the bed—it was much more comfortable than most hotel beds!
Edited to add: I changed my five star review to four stars. People call this affordable luxury, which I think references the room, but I give this an overall four stars because I think the front desk service could improve significantly. The staff are very passive and quiet, not reaching out unless you ask questions. I also wish they had told me these things beforehand: housekeeping will come and clean your room even if you set your room to “do not disturb,” the water kettle may need a cleaning, and I received no welcome drink or note like the other patrons posted about (but I was granted an early check-in). In fact, people came into my room multiple times a day because my room would change each time I leave my room—I wonder if they were overcompensating for not coming the day before, even though that was what I had wanted and told them in person. (However, the housekeeping staff was lovely.) Lastly, the shower has a glass wall that leaves no room for privacy from anyone else in the room, so it is best to travel solo or with a romantic partner if you stay here. Also, I had tried to book a taxi the day before with the front desk, and they weren’t helpful and suggested I call Uber which canceled on me—I strongly recommend calling cabs if you need to be on time.

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The crew was friendly and responsive. The hotel is located in an area with plenty of choices of restaurants. The price was reasonable considering the scale of service I was getting.

This is by far the best hotel and best value stay we have had in Montreal. The room felt fresh, clean, modern and well considered. The bed was sooooo comfy and the shower was great. Nespresso coffee in room is always a plus, but a reminder that the European traveler likes the 2% milk with it. The arrival sequence was simple, we asked to store our luggage as we arrived early and to our delight the room was already ready so we were allowed to go straight up. They had our preordered welcome drinks all ready and a lovely welcome note to go with it. We had late drinks in the bar with some nibbles which were also tasty. Would recommend.

This is Canada‘s version of First Watch. Fresh, fun, innovative, smash shops that are full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed the service and atmosphere. The weather was perfect and we sat outside our glasses empty and my wife absolutely orange ricotta, and dark cherry compote French toast. I had their Mediterranean wings, which were absolutely delightful. I would have that same lineup again and again. Highly recommend, would go back.

Wonderful breakfast, cool staff, very easy to get a table. Nothing about this place is like extravagant, but everything is good and you're going to enjoy yourself.

Had breakfast here on our trip to Montreal was pretty near to our hotel 🏨 . The pancakes 🥞 were fully nice and heavy to finish off :) . Coffee ☕️ was ok but not too great. But altogether loved the breakfast.🍳

Had breakfast here. Nice quiet joint with good customer service. Had some American Breakfast, Eggstraordinary and Crepe with Banana & Orange Juice. Breakfast on the whole was good. Loved the potato fritters. Waffles were tasty.
The orange juice was a disappointment. It was freshly squeezed, that was great, but maybe the was not great. Not impressed with the crepe as it was overcooked and the Nutella was very less which didn't help the overly crisp crepe. Maybe it was one of a kind error happened while preparing it. But for sure, they should ensure that it doesn't happen again.

Outstanding food!!!! I had the chicken and waffles and it blew my mind. The menu is very extensive, there is definitely something for someone. I was pleasantly surprised. The place is huge, I doubt that you'd be waiting for a seat, however our waitress took forever to come and greet us and didn't even apologize for the long wait.

Dunn's is a fantastic and legendary place to get your Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches. The place is old and comfortable. The service here is great. We came in for lunch as the restaurant was opening and within 10 minutes it was completely full. Its so great to see. The food was great. The sandwiches were great and so was the poutine.. heavy.. but good. The item which I enjoyed the most was definitely the Latkes. Just fantastic. Wonderful place.

Great place to dine. Pepperoni pizza was excellent. Large portions on everything. The Poutine needed fine salt on the fries before the gravy is pored on. Service was a little slow, but the young guy who eventually served us was very attentive and very friendly.

Wow is all I have to say! Everyone raves about Scwhwartz’s but this is definitely up there and has a bit more of a sit in vibe without sacrificing quality of the classic Montreal smoked meat sandwich. It is a great location and the server we had provided excellent service. We will definitely be back when in town!

This place has it all. You can just feel the Vibe before you walk in the door.
While the food and service are simply fantastic. Folks around me were raving about the pizza here. Many were ordering it. I of course ordered the smoked meat sandwich. Next time I’ll try the pizza.
My Smoked Meat sandwich was absolutely delicious. And the place itself was just oozing with atmosphere. Not a big place but definitely a must go and try if you have not already.
Thank you so much. My first visit to Montreal and Dunns will not be my last.

Absolutely HOUSED some smoke meat post physical activity and it was absolutely worthy.
This place has a nice charm, and plays good music. Service was efficient and very well done.
The food was excellent. We ate here around 6:30 on a Saturday on a holiday weekend and the crowd levels were not large at all surprisingly. Smoked meat gets a 10/10 l, but having said that, I have only ever had it 3 times so take my rating with a grain of salt.
Has the Montreal charm you are looking for.

Very nice place and very welcoming !!
Perfect for a first date in my opinion if he or she loves sushi, cause I loved it 5 years ago when my now husband brought me there ;) and it's always nice to go back now.
The quality is still fantastic and the people are nice.
I recommend !!! For sure getting back soon :))

First time in shodan for lunch. We have ordered the sushi plate for 2 and added a sushi pizza.
I believe if we will be just full only have sushi plate for 2.adding pizza we r too full.
The fish are so fresh!
However I find the rice is abit too soft and doesn't taste enough vinegar. Thus 4/5 for the food.
Service is good, atmosphere is good.
Will come back and try the dinner menue, heard the specialty rolls are good too.
Sushi pizza is covered by smoked salmon. Find the rice is not crispy enough or maybe too thin to taste the crispness.

Once inside Sho-Dan, I found myself underwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. The décor lacks character, with plain white tablecloths and a lack of any distinctive features. Instead of exuding a sushi restaurant ambiance, it feels more like an upscale Italian establishment catering to an older demographic. Unfortunately, my initial impression fell short of excitement.
However, my disappointment took a turn when we decided to sample a variety of items from the menu. The sushi exceeded expectations, boasting a delightful freshness and appealing presentation. Accompanied by flavorful sauces, the culinary experience was elevated. The house drinks were also noteworthy, adding a positive note to our dining experience.
While the staff exhibited kindness, there was a slight lack of enthusiasm, though the service remained decent. In conclusion, it's a venue worth considering if you're seeking exceptionally good sushi. The culinary delights outweigh the lackluster ambiance, making it a destination for sushi enthusiasts.

I have been going to Sho-dan for 25 years. The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is great and the service exceptional. Our Mont Blanc masterpiece by Davina pictured below.
Other musts are the sushi pizza, beef sashimi, gyoza and of course all sushi is delicious.
Thank you for your hospitality throughout the years.

I just had the best time at Cafe Ferreira for a work event! We came in at 9 PM with a group of 10, and we were treated to a fabulous table d'hote menu featuring steak, prawns, veggies, and mushroom risotto. Everything was served buffet style, which was so convenient and fun, and it even came with dessert!
I have to say, the prawns and the risotto were definitely my favorites – they were absolutely delicious! The service was amazing, too; the staff was super attentive and always there for refills. Overall, it was such a great spot for our group event, and I can’t recommend it enough!

It was a very busy Friday night when we arrived. Shortly after we got seated, our waitress Nicole kindly went over their daily specials and answered our questions with patience since it was our first visit there. She was knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant, so great first impression! We ordered a half dozen oysters, fish & seafood bouillabaisse and seafood rice casserole, with a tiger prawn for each. The texture and flavors are simply perfect and original, without being overpowered by the sauce. We were absolutely amazed by the quality and quantity of both dishes! Needless to say, we finished everything in the pot and loved every bite and wrapped up the night with a lovely dessert!

This is a great place! The staff is pleasant and has great suggestions for dinner, wine, and dessert. The food is cooked perfectly, so delicious! I had the halibut with couscous and vegetables, everything was cooked to perfection, and the portion size was perfect. Dessert was strawberry and mango sorbet with fruit.

Food: Exceptionally fresh seafood.
We ordered:
1) Seafood Platter: if you have two or more diners, don’t second guess. Just get it.
2) Roasted Sardines: one of our favorite dishes of the night.
3) Daily Catch: Incredible sea bream with an amazing chickpea salad and veggies. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned.
4) Bouillabaisse: Highlight of the night. A must-try dish.
Service: Top notch. Attentive but not overbearing despite the fact that it was super super busy even on a Monday night.
Ambiance: We were seated in a quieter corner in the back and it was very nice.

I had the pleasure of dining at Reuben’s Deli recently, and I must say, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! The quality of the meat was outstanding — tender, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth. Whether you’re craving a delicious sandwich or one of their specialty dishes, you won’t be disappointed.
I tried several items, from their juicy sandwiches to the perfectly crispy fries, and everything was impeccable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent, making the overall experience even better.
If you’re in the area and looking for some of the best deli meats around, Reuben’s is a must-visit! Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved Reuben’s Deli. I wanted to try Montreal Smoked Meat, spoiler alert: it’s not actually smoked and I have not been able to discover why non-smoked meat is called smoked meat. But I digress. I also love Reuben sandwiches and poutine. I was able to find all three items here. The staff was FANTASTIC. Very friendly and outgoing. I would highly recommend trying Reuben’s if you’re in Montreal!
Michael Baldrey - a month ago
It was a very very nice experience. I can't tell if this is the best smoked meat, but it was so good. The best fries for sure, maybe not the best Poutine but not bad, especially if you love the crispy more than the grazy sauce. We had the original Reuben's sandwich and the roast beef. Both was very good, but the smoked meat definitely wins. I always wonder why they stack the meat all on the facade of the sandwich only, and the back is empty but this one was enough if you distribute them yourself 😅

If I could give 100 stars, I would!! First time here and loved everything about it! The employees, the service and most importantly the food - AMAZING! Our waitress Elizabeth was awesome, and always made sure we were taken care of! We were a group of 9 and after ordering, the food came within 7 minutes - talk about great service! I had the chop chop poutine and roast beef melt, and can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!

Had my first visit to this Indian restaurant a year ago today & I loved it, especially the spicy turnips which were my standout favorite. That evening was magical and remains a cherished memory. The experience brings a smile to my face, and I still can't forget it.

Not for South Indians and lesser vegetarian options but the place is really great for dinner dates. Got a chaat and veg biryani. It was full of mint flavour and the chaat was served cold usually. Baigan bharta was really good as well. Take everything medium spicy. Indian level spicy is not predicted. Once it was extremely spicy and once it was not very spicy. Medium level of consistency is maintained well all the time here.

Great location with very nice decor. Has a beautiful intimate vibe with dimmed lights.
Their butter chicken was disappointing specifically for the price. You can eat better butter chicken in lots of different restaurants for cheaper.
Their garlic nan bread I must say with their samosas were delicious!
Good spot to try out once but you can find lots of better restaurants and you will end up saving half of what you spend here on your bill.

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in downtown Montreal. I haven’t been here in a while and was in the mood for Indian food. Reservation was easy via google. You get a message 2 hours before your booking to confirm or cancel your reservation which is cool. Don’t be fooled by the look of the place (needs a refreshment), the food is amazing. Their mango lasse is probably the best in town and so is their garlic naan, always fresh and out of the oven. I tried their chicken kebab appetizer for the first time and it was delicious 😋 It was tender and had the right amount of spice for most people. I would’ve liked it a bit more spicy but I’m the exception rather than the rule 😁
If you like fish don’t miss their Salmon Tikka, it’s my favorite dish, perfectly cooked and spiced. I’ve had the chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani here before and they were amazing. This time around they were both good but different. I don’t know if the recipe was changed. It was well cooked and was good but not what I was looking for I guess. I was full so didn’t get my favorite dessert, Ras Malai. You should definitely try it. Instead, I had chai latte which was heavy but really good. I needed my nap at that time, the postprandial coma was kicking in 😂😂
Overall, it was a good experience as always. Highly recommended.

This location is next to a hotel and has an upscale ambiance. There is also a covered terrace in front just off the street. We ordered the banana strawberry Nutella toast and the combo eggs and waffle with extra toast. The coffee was additional. The waffle has syrup for the table included. The texture of the waffle was just a bit harder than I like but still okay. The french toast and potatoes were great. The portion sizes are quite generous. There is plenty of seating for one person up to medium-sized groups. The menu has vegetarian options for brunch and dinner.

A great brunch spot alternative that won't have you waiting in a line around the block to get in. They serve breakfast until 5pm, so no need to rush. They also make a decent latte. They have a kids menu.

They have a brunch menu and a lunch menu! You get to pick from either one, which is great. They have so many options that it can get super confusing to pick if you tend to be an indecisive person. The food is good. The plates are a good size. I tried the brunch menu, so I can’t tell you much about the lunch menu, but looks good! They were training new servers so the service was extra nice that day and the design of the place is nice. Vegetarians (like me) can figure something out to eat, and there’s a few options for my vegan friends. Overall, I’d say try it out if you’re looking for a place to go.

Very nice atmosphere and old Italian style. The service is very fast, our waiter was very attentive. Fettuccine pasta was amazing. Veal cutlet was too salty. If you order from the table d'hote, which was reasonably priced, you'd get salad or soup of the day for appetizer + dessert, tea, or coffee on the main course.

On vacation in Montreal, kids were craving for pasta for dinner, saw this place near by our hotel. I know the reviews weren’t up there, but figured reviews aren’t always accurate. Just like my previous experience in Brussels, a high google review restaurant but turned out to be a tourist trap. So this Italian restaurant was decent, 3.9 stars was just about right. We ordered Penne with pink sauce with meat balls, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a large Caesar salad. Everything turned out okay, only the meat ball was kinda flaky, it wasn’t as good as traditional meat balls. Caesar salads were mediocre at best with bacon bites. Usually Caesar salads don’t have bacon bites. But the ladies that took our order was friendly and nice. Which is a plus for services. But the restaurant really needs some update, as it feels like outdated pizzeria in the 1980s.
