This lovely hotel is v modern and the shower cubicle with a window into the bedroom takes a bit of getting used to but did make the bathroom much brighter. Maybe a blind or opaque glass could be added? Bed was so comfortable and the view from our window at night was spectacular (as shown) with all the building lights. Our room was on the 20th floor so lovely and quiet. Delicious breakfast and plenty of choice. Unlimited free coffee refills greatly appreciated. All the staff were so nice and helpful. Late check out available at midday was most unexpected, and it really felt that the hotel/staff couldn't do enough to welcome you.

Everyone was wonderful from the very first front desk to the restaurant staff to housekeeping. The Nespresso and hot water kettle were a nice touch. They had a water fountain by the elevators with refrigerated water. The best part was the bed—it was much more comfortable than most hotel beds! Edited to add: I changed my five star review to four stars. People call this affordable luxury, which I think references the room, but I give this an overall four stars because I think the front desk service could improve significantly. The staff are very passive and quiet, not reaching out unless you ask questions. I also wish they had told me these things beforehand: housekeeping will come and clean your room even if you set your room to “do not disturb,” the water kettle may need a cleaning, and I received no welcome drink or note like the other patrons posted about (but I was granted an early check-in). In fact, people came into my room multiple times a day because my room would change each time I leave my room—I wonder if they were overcompensating for not coming the day before, even though that was what I had wanted and told them in person. (However, the housekeeping staff was lovely.) Lastly, the shower has a glass wall that leaves no room for privacy from anyone else in the room, so it is best to travel solo or with a romantic partner if you stay here. Also, I had tried to book a taxi the day before with the front desk, and they weren’t helpful and suggested I call Uber which canceled on me—I strongly recommend calling cabs if you need to be on time.

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip and enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The crew was friendly and responsive. The hotel is located in an area with plenty of choices of restaurants. The price was reasonable considering the scale of service I was getting.

This is by far the best hotel and best value stay we have had in Montreal. The room felt fresh, clean, modern and well considered. The bed was sooooo comfy and the shower was great. Nespresso coffee in room is always a plus, but a reminder that the European traveler likes the 2% milk with it. The arrival sequence was simple, we asked to store our luggage as we arrived early and to our delight the room was already ready so we were allowed to go straight up. They had our preordered welcome drinks all ready and a lovely welcome note to go with it. We had late drinks in the bar with some nibbles which were also tasty. Would recommend.

I am a pizza lover and I have tasted many delicious pizzas. I have to say that when I first ate the pizza from this restaurant, I was really amazed. The tomato sauce was very delicious, and the ingredients were matched, and the crispness of the crust was just right. I will definitely recommend it to every friend who comes to Montreal.

We ordered a pizza for takeout, we were able to park on the street as it wasn’t too busy. The restaurant was quite full and smelled delicious. We got just a simple pepperoni pizza, the crust was nice and crunchy but was not a fan of the pepperoni not being crispy as it was covered with cheese. Would go back to eat inside and try a speciality pizza as there are so many to pick from. Was on the more expensive side for a 10” pizza. The service staff was very friendly and helpful.

We were pleasantly surprised by this establishment. Rashid, who helped us choose an order, was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Everything was so fast! And delicious. The pizza was amazing. I have never tried such interesting and multifaceted pizzas. I highly recommend visiting this place, preferably in the morning. Because in half an hour there will already be many people who want to try the best pizza in the world.

Our friends in Montreal said this was a great pizza place, and they were 100% correct! We visited Montreal and unfortunately we could only manage to do delivery, but it was fabulous! There were so many pizza options on the website that we had some trouble deciding what to get. I had the absolute best anchovy pizza I've ever had! Everyone else really enjoyed their pizzas, too (the kids are Hawaiian fiends, and everyone else got assorted meaty toppings). The delivery guy was also very lovely and insisted on bringing the pizzas up the stairs to us, even though we went down to meet him. The delivery boxes are also really appealing, haha. Will definitely return for more the next time we are in town!

I recently dined at Pizza Focolaio in downtown Montreal and was thoroughly impressed! I ordered the vegetarian pizza ratatouille and the Giardino salad, and both dishes were fantastic. We sat at the bar for dinner. The fact that it wasn’t busy on a Saturday night should have told us something. After a couple beers, we ordered chicken fingers with onion rings and fish and chips. Both were large portions and the quality was good but not great. It irritated us that we were charged $.75 for an extra tartar sauce. Our bartender Tara was personable and efficient. But we wish we had waited in line for our first choice.

Visiting from Ottawa, this was a great place! The food and service were very good and the music choice was awesome. The sever made us feel super comfortable and welcomed. I recommend the curry and O’James Hamburger Steak.

Our 2nd time there. This will probably be a must visit for us moving forward when we come to Montreal. They have live music Tuesdays to Saturdays. We love the bartender. Great personality. We had recognized her from the 1st time that we tried this place out over a year ago. Even though she was busy, she took the time to ask us where we were from and talked with us through out the evening. Really great place and good service.

When traveling in any town a visit to an Irish Pub is always in order. Le Vieux Dublin in Montreal did not disappoint. There was 1 bartender who handled a full bar & a few tables & made it look easy. There were many great Irish Whiskey selections & it seemed many more pint options. The customers were friendly & even bought me a couple pours of good whiskey. Guys….be sure to checkout the urinals.

Every time I go up Montreal I go to 3 Brasseurs. I am fan of choucroute and beer. This time I am disappointed about the sauerkraut too dry and the flammekueche was not that good as usual. It is undercooked. The crust is flaky. Btw the cassoulet was good.

Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat . The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection . I can confidently add that the Poutine dish in this bar is tastier than anywhere else. We had the same dish in Toronto and Ottawa, but when we returned to Montreal, we once again went to this very bar to taste the most delicious Poutine . Our server, Mr. STEFANOS was an absolute gem. He knew the menu, offered great recommendations, and cared about guest feedback. His professionalism , positivity and warmth added a personal touch to our evening, and we left feeling thoroughly satisfied! I would like to come back here again and again .

This was my second time at this location in 2 years. I absolutely love the beers and the food ! Now we made a cool friend, Stefano, who was very friendly, funny and professional. He also accommodated my speaking basic French. We were told that there's a promotion going on for certain beers and I chose their "Blonde" beer and the cassoulet, which was heavenly ! My friend had a very tasty salad and we shared the camembert with prosciutto. All in all we had a great time having dinner here. Very nice place and very welcoming !! Perfect for a first date in my opinion if he or she loves sushi, cause I loved it 5 years ago when my now husband brought me there ;) and it's always nice to go back now. First time in shodan for lunch. We have ordered the sushi plate for 2 and added a sushi pizza. I believe if we will be just full only have sushi plate for 2.adding pizza we r too full. The fish are so fresh! However I find the rice is abit too soft and doesn't taste enough vinegar. Thus 4/5 for the food. Service is good, atmosphere is good. Will come back and try the dinner menue, heard the specialty rolls are good too. Sushi pizza is covered by smoked salmon. Find the rice is not crispy enough or maybe too thin to taste the crispness.

Once inside Sho-Dan, I found myself underwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. The décor lacks character, with plain white tablecloths and a lack of any distinctive features. Instead of exuding a sushi restaurant ambiance, it feels more like an upscale Italian establishment catering to an older demographic. Unfortunately, my initial impression fell short of excitement. However, my disappointment took a turn when we decided to sample a variety of items from the menu. The sushi exceeded expectations, boasting a delightful freshness and appealing presentation. Accompanied by flavorful sauces, the culinary experience was elevated. The house drinks were also noteworthy, adding a positive note to our dining experience. While the staff exhibited kindness, there was a slight lack of enthusiasm, though the service remained decent. In conclusion, it's a venue worth considering if you're seeking exceptionally good sushi. The culinary delights outweigh the lackluster ambiance, making it a destination for sushi enthusiasts.

I have been going to Sho-dan for 25 years. The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is great and the service exceptional. Our Mont Blanc masterpiece by Davina pictured below. Other musts are the sushi pizza, beef sashimi, gyoza and of course all sushi is delicious. Thank you for your hospitality throughout the years.

We dined there on Saturday night, the 17th of Aug 2024, at about 9 pm. we were welcomed by our server and offered drinks. Excellent food 10/10. But better than the food was the service by our server 12/10. We were served by a lovely lady (sorry, forgot her name). She was very attentive and made us feel welcome. We ordered the ceasar salad and asked for bacon to be added to it, and that wasn't a problem. In fact, everything we asked for wasn't a problem. We also had the cheese sticks and the 14oz ribeye steak. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and seasoned well. The garden salad with French dressing was very fresh. Our lovely server suggested the strawberry cheesecake for dessert, and it was the best I've had. I highly recommend this establishment. I worked as a chef in Australia for over 25 years, and I was extremely pleased with this restaurant. I wish I live in Montreal so I could try this restaurant again and again. Thankyou.

Me and a friend came here looking for a Montreal smoked meat. We shared that and a pizza. By far the best meal we had during our visit. Pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had, sandwich was great. We had the cheesecake after reading the reviews. Gotta have it. Waitress was amazing. Great food, under 40 bucks, and great service. Would go again for sure. Might come back for lunch before our flight out!

Melt Sandwiches indeed! We first tried this spot in 2019 and thought their food at that time was superb. 2024 visit did not disappoint! The restaurant was bustling and lively. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food remained superb, if not better. Reuben’s will always be on our list to dine in whenever we’re in Montreal. 5-star all around!

We were in the vicinity and decided to walk in as it looked appealing from outside in spite of the fact the massive construction/maintenance work along the streets. It was packed to the core that may be a sign of its popularity. Good choice of food and drinks- meat, fish, chicken, salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. Appealing decor, very good service, excellent food and the portions seem more than generous. Couldn't finish what we ordered. The only low point was the temperature inside, seemed quite warm; not sure if it was normal or because of the ongoing heatwave in the region.

I had the absolute pleasure of attending Brunch Gospel with Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe at the Balcon on the 28th, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was really good but the highlight for me was the music. Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe delivered performances that were nothing short of electrifying. It was a good way to enjoy great food while being uplifted by incredible live gospel music.

Le Balcon is a staple in Montreal experiences! Located in an old cathedral, this theater always makes for an incredible time! There’s room to dance if you’d like- most people do! The main floor is tables/chairs set up cabaret style. The balcony is church pews with a thin piece of fabric as your seat cushion. You’ll be up dancing anyways, so don’t get too comfy! Balcony is also “sit wherever” so feel free to move around… but make sure you close out with your server! If you can find them! Once the show starts, I really didn’t see anyone to grab me another drink:( It’s a very intimate venue- there are no bad seats! Very picturesque too! The entrance is on the side street! There’s a coat check for $3CAD and yes they take cards! Beware- there’s a long line aftee to get your coat! The bathrooms are pitiful! Located up a bunch of stairs and then there’s only 2 teeny stalls! For a venue, we need more please!

We had a fantastic time at the New Year's Eve party at Le Balcon! The food and cocktails were delicious, the entertainment was lively and kept us dancing, and our server Norman was wonderful. And he was very talented performing two beautiful songs during dinner. The venue was tucked in the back of a church which was very cool and unexpected. Great time overall!

My wife and I spent about $800 for the New Year's Eve dinner and show. We were very disappointed on the portion size of each servings and main course. Everything looked like it was just a sample size. The food itself was satisfactory. Considering all of the money spent on dinner, you would think the servings would be more generous. This was our second time at Le Balcon. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Never came here cuz I thought they only have pizza, but their poutine gave me a pleasant surprise today. Slightly salty but more importantly cheesy and savoury. Portion is so large, I’ll be eating my size medium for 2-3 meals. Staff have a straight face but are nice and kind. Only downside is it’s a bit too hot in the metro station in summer to eat there.

In the Eaton center food court - really delicious, fresh made to order food. Great deals on bento lunches, bowls and sushi. Service was impeccable, warm and friendly. The beef sukiyaki is definitely a must, and their sauce makes the dish. There are lots of delicious sides also to have with your meal. Definitely highly recommend for delicious food at a great price in a clean restaurant.

Edo Japan is in the food court of the Eaton’s Centre. There are a lot of Asian restaurants there and Edo is the better one. We ordered bento boxes. You can choose a neat and 2 sides I chose the shrimp tempura and a 4-piece sushi. Tempuras are tiny but tasty. Sushi looks not that great but again tastes good. Next time I’ll try dumplings and spring rolls. You have to be patient as the cook is awfully slow. They use yummy Japanese rice. Meat is cooked in front of you. The vegetables including mushroom are good. Remember to ask for extra sauce or the cook will give you just very little. Overall the food is good and reasonably priced. I’ll return to try other stuff.
