Definitely one of the best bars in Berlin.
Since 2007, for 17 years this bar is ahead of the rest.
Very unique location underneath the train tracks in a former railway storage facility.
Orften imitated, never duplicated. Gives the idea you are inside of a huge jet engine.
Quite stunning

Great little tucked away speakeasy.
Was recommended this place by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Tucked away under a bridge behind a non descript door. The inside feels like a tastefully decorated bunker with two main seating areas, a large bar and a booth space with a reflective wall that adds greatly contributes to the vibe.
The drinks are solid and well priced. The staff are welcoming and kind. The DJ that started off the night was a blast. The music was loud but not so much that you were screaming to be heard. The bathrooms were also very clean.
FYI you can smoke indoors so for those not accustomed to that experience please be aware.

One of the best bars in Berlin. Attentive staff, creative bartender. Delicious cocktails and a good selection of whiskey. The atmosphere is super comfortable.

Music and atmosphere were awesome, smoking indoor is allowed. Weekdays wasn’t too crowded, limited selection of whiskey and no wifi or internet signals inside, service was okay. entrance fee was 10 euros Thursday to Saturday

If you want to try authentic Japanese food, this place will be the best for that kind of experience. This place reminds me of a typical Japanese fast food place with quality products, very fast work and friendly waiters.
The big plus point of the place is the speed of preparation and the taste of the food. Also, the food here is quite hearty. It may seem like you won't get full, but actually even a small set of sushi rolls is quite hearty.
The average price is more than affordable, especially for Japanese food. You can order a set for €10-18 and you don't need to take drinks because the green tea is free.

Ishin Sushi in Berlin is the definition of “it’s fine” when it comes to sushi. The taste is okay, but don’t expect to be blown away—it’s pretty basic. The sushi is fresh and decent, but nothing that’s going to have you running back for more. If you’re looking for super unique flavors or a next-level experience, this might not be your spot.
That said, the prices are super reasonable, especially for Berlin. It’s one of the cheaper sushi places around, so if you’re ballin’ on a budget, Ishin gets the job done. Plus, they give you free green tea, which is always a win.

Ishin a fantastic sushi restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic sushi at a very reasonable price. It’s such a great find to have high-quality sushi that’s both delicious and affordable. I found myself visiting almost every week, as the food is consistently excellent.
The service is also outstanding friendly and attentive, making each visit even more enjoyable. If you’re in Berlin and craving sushi, Ishin is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss!

This Japanese restaurant has a canteen-like vibe with a large dining room and big communal tables. It gets quite busy during lunchtime, but the queue moves quickly, and once seated, you're welcomed with a complimentary cup of hot green tea. The menu primarily focuses on sushi, but also offers Donburi rice bowls, soups, salads, and side dishes.
The miso soup was flavorful without being overly salty, and the sushi was fresh. The teriyaki chicken bowl was good overall, though the teriyaki sauce lacked some depth and there wasn’t enough sauce to coat the chicken and rice. Thankfully, the server promptly provided more sauce upon request. The sushi rice could have been a bit stickier as well.
For a fast-service, high-turnover restaurant, the price-to-quality ratio is fantastic. It's a hidden gem in the heart of the city center, especially for a quick and affordable Japanese meal.

A friend who lives in Berlin recommended this place for authentic Berliner cuisine. It was not crowed on a Sunday evening. The server took my order and drink and food quickly came. I had a Berliner pork knuckle which the restaurant claimed was the best in the city. While the meat was tender and delicious, my salad was swimming in dressing. The portion was huge for what they charged.

While in Germany I whet here with a group of 17 people. Thee service was excellent, and the beer was well done, and dynamically priced. All in I'd rate the atmosphere a B + and the food a B.
Curt Raffi - 3 months ago
A traditional German meal on a quiet afternoon, the food was very tasty with big portions, one meal would easily be enough for 2 people. Beers were nice and cold. Service was quick and friendly, however when it came to paying the experience changed when you are all most guilt tripped into leaving a tip. I would have left a tip in cash on the table had it not been for the cheeky comment made by the waiter when we paid with card and didn’t change the total amount on his card machine. A good experience for food but let down at the very end.

Nice genuine French restaurant close to the Spree with a lot of tables outside. Easy way to enjoy the river, people and city life. Food is fast and presented well. Service is a bit slow but food is served fast.
Menues are on the smaller side, but it should be enough.
There were a lot of wasps here, so sitting outside was a problem.

I ate there today. The place is very well located, the waiters are very friendly, and the flavor of the Bio omelette with chorizo was spectacular. The only thing I didn’t like was that I ordered a small bottle of water, a cappuccino (€3.80), and the omelette (€12.50), and they charged me €25.52. I don’t think the bottle could have cost €7???

The atmosphere was great. Seating right by the river. The menu had a lot of options for breakfast, almost too many. Our server was lively and had a great table side manner. The food was excellent. No kid's menu but they had good enough options on main menu.

I had the Flammkuchen, which is like flatbread or pizza, with sparse toppings so the crust stays crisp. It was good and large enough to share. My husband had the Raviola with basil which was delicious. Servers were VERY busy so we had to wait.
We had a lovely outdoor table along the river and the restaurant had blankets available as the evening was chilly.

Fantastically located French restaurant on the river along one of the main tourist roads in Berlin leading to Checkpoint Charlie.
It's a classic French menu with everything that you would expect to get.
I had the Steak Tartare, and my wife had the Steak Frites. I have to say that they were both pretty good. It's not the best I have had in Berlin, but it's certainly not the worst.
Prices are on the high side for Berlin, but the location probably just about justifies the premium over other Berlin French restaurants.
I had the Mousse Chocolate at the end, and that was great, but again, the price was not cheap, so I expected something great, and thankfully, this was the case here.
Service was perfect, and the views are really breathtaking if you take one of the outside tables by the riverbank.
Overall, it was expensive and really good. What more can you say?

Amazing place to dine and try German food in Berlin. Don’t let the location fool you! It is right by the train station in a cute little alley near the beautiful River. Menu with amazing German food offerings for vegetarians and non vegetarians as well. Portions are quite generous and the prices are very reasonable. Service is very friendly and top notch! Highly recommend!

Trendy restaurant with 1920s theme situated underneath the railroad. It makes a lot of noise when trains run over. During the event happens less. Food is good and service is both fast and professional. Good selection of beer and drinks. The dessert menu was a bit short, but had what you need for a proper German dessert. Appel strudel and cream

Really nice little traditional food place. Inside is decorated really pretty, and the outside patio behind the restaurant is very peaceful. The waiter was quick and although he wasn't bubbly, he answered all questions and provided great service.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on our last night in Berlin and it truly topped off a fabulous weekend. It was our favourite dinner of our trip. A true taste of Germany! We ordered the meatballs and for desert we had the delicious Apfel Strudel. The service was great, we had a lovely waitress and although the place was packed with people, we were served so quick. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you want to experience authentic German food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

From a VEGAN point of view: there are two vegan mains on the menue, which we both had. It was good, especially the herb crème fraîche on the side, but the dishes are surely lacking more sources of protein.
For me as a mid-30 person it‘s rather a place to take your parents to for dinner, when they are visiting Berlin. Great atmosphere, quite loud, too.

Amazing spot! Stumbled upon it. Didn’t have a reservation but they were kind enough to seat us anyway. Was so fantastic we booked for breakfast the very next day as well. They do a cafe kuchen in the afternoon and the cakes looked fantastic. Will definitely be back for that!

What an amazing spot to relax in Berlin! This Café is absolutely lovely in every way. The Service was fantastic, although we didn’t have a reservation, they kindly accommodated us with a cozy table where we could fully enjoy our time. The Brunch was great as well! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect Café experience.

I had vegan pancakes with blueberries and blueberry lavender lemonade. Pancakes were filling and delicious. The lemonade was also delicious. I sat outside overlooking the water---make sure to see the host, it isn't seat yourself! Waitress helped people who arrived later than me before she helped me, which wasn't awesome, but she was nice! And the food was great, so no big deal!
Gwyneth Puryear - 5 months ago
The pancakes were delicious, I didn’t like the lemonade too much tho for me it didn’t taste like a lemonade at all. The view was pretty, but the service wasn’t the greatest 🥲 I think I waited almost 20 minutes for someone to take my order and the waiter started taking orders from the people who arrived after me which was really not nice. The price was a little bit overpriced I paid around 20€ for some pancakes and a lemonade

We visited the restaurant for brunch on a warm Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helped us practice our German, and the food was fantastic - really fresh and we were both very full when we left! The cakes looked lovely but we didn't have room to try them unfortunately - we will have to go back!

The staff were very nice. The food was unfortunately mid for the price. We ordered the schnitzel, which was pretty ok tho the potatoes on the side were bland as potatoes can be, and I got a mushroom risotto. It was so salty, almost inedible, not sure if it was just a one time fluke or if it's usually like that but I couldn't even taste anything but salt. It's a nice looking restaurant but there are better places to eat.

Very well located and delicious strudel. A bit pricey though. And they enploy a very rude toilet lady. I had to change my baby's nappy on the sink and was told to take my dirty nappy with me. When I asked where should I leave it she said outside, take it with you but don't leave it here. I complained to the manager but nothing further than a sorry happened.

So sad the Villa where the cafe was located closed last year. It was beloved by Berliners and had went there in 2022 on my first trip to the city. This location is great too. Just a walk away from the Brandenburg gate. The food was good. I had the classic Wien Schnitzel and we had some wine. The portion was huge! It was two slabs of porkchop. We also had some wine and I had the classic Sacher Torte.

Amazing quiet atmosphere lovely to have few drinks, good food and be able to have a conversation. Service was excellent!

The waitress was extremely kind, the place is super nice. The prices a bit high but in the average for the area which is super nice. The plates had very little of Italian, I went there because some German friends booked and as Italian I've to admit that the plates are very different from what we eat in Italy: the lasagna has nothing to do with our lasagna, risotto with chicken is more indian than Italian cousin, gnocchi refill with pesto is not our traditional gnocchi with mozzarella, parmigiano etc, and the pizza was more German pizza than Italian pizza. Said so, the area around is super nice and the service is kind, it's a good place for foreigners, a bit less for Italians.

Arrived to hotel pretty hungry after a long train ride to Berlin. Luckily this place was right around the corner so I went in for a steak. Very happy with the decision. Steak was a perfect medium rare and tasted great. Dessert wasn’t bad either. Service was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

BLOCK HOUSE on Friedrichstraße in Berlin is a decent restaurant with some highs and lows. The service tends to be quite slow, which can be frustrating. The dishes we tried, such as the tartare, house salad, and a variation of Caesar salad, were all average. However, the quality of the meat was excellent. The steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, which is a major plus.
The restaurant's location under the train tracks makes the outdoor seating area very noisy, so we had to move inside. Unfortunately, it was slightly warm indoors as they don't seem to use air conditioning effectively.
Overall, BLOCK HOUSE provides an okay dining experience. While it's hard to give it a full five stars due to the slow service and noise issues, the excellent meat quality and generally pleasant staff make it a reasonable choice for a meal.

Came to this steakhouse with friends, not quite in the mood for steak, and left pleasantly surprised. The diverse menu options beyond steak were impressive and truly delicious—everyone found something they loved. Despite our varied orders, each dish was well-prepared and satisfying. The ambiance exuded a cozy yet sophisticated vibe, contributing to a great dining experience. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring our visit was enjoyable. While we didn't dive into the steaks, this place exceeded our expectations and made for a fantastic dining outing.

Quality pint of guiness, price about right for berlin. Irish stew was nice and the nachos were great value, massive portion. Hand soap in bathroom wouldn't of gone a miss, was there 5 hours and none! But definitely recommend this place!

Nice Location, classic Irish Pub interior and often good live music.
But I don't recommend to order a classic Softdrink due to the high price and bad service. 5,-€ for a straight can without a glas or ice or anything is too expensive.

Great pub to grab a drink and watch live music. The staff were very nice and organized. There is a pub crawl that rolls through later in the evening and it really packed the bar to capacity leaving very little room to stand or order drinks.
