Came across this pub while heading for a boat trip. What a lovely traditional pub with a nice setting in a quiet area. The service and welcome were warm, and the local beer - Made of Ale - was well kept and tasty. The pub had a nice feel to it, and seems to have a community feel. Outdoor seating is available.

The Warwick Castle 🏰 is late Victorian pub in Little Venice, just north of Paddington. A busy afternoon on a Saturday with a massively jolly atmosphere. Great beer, both keg and cask. Excellent service from all concerned, a big thank you. Jolly, mad and friendly. About right.

Such a gorgeous pub with friendly staff and delicious food. They have Asahi, Guinness, Amstel, Camden Hells and more on tap - a great range of larger and stouts! My friends and I enjoyed a few drinks here and then decided to stay for dinner - the burgers and steak were both excellent. Definitely recommend.

Atmosphere great and stunning pub. We went on a Friday evening expecting to grab some food but the kitchen was closed, staff were a little rude about it.
The pub is close to Lords Cricket Ground which is ideal for some and less ideal if you want a quiet pub night.

Excellent! Such a lovely pub, will certainly return here again. We visited the place for a Sunday brunch, ate the weekend specials vegetarian Wellington and a chicken roast. Decent food and friendly staff. The only disappointing thing was that even though we booked our table in advance, we were seated in a tiny corner table next to the toilet :( Otherwise, the place is a stunning old pub with wooden interior and vintage paintings, a truly enjoyable place to be!

A very pleasant working lunch, sat with a nice view of the canal as the early Autumn-sun shone. The food/seasoning was a little too subtle for my palette but the ingredients were of good quality and it was presented well. I had the calamari starter and sea bass special main course. I can't fault the very friendly, attentive and professional service. I'd happily return to try something with a bit more zing.

Setting was amazing, we visited the Summerhouse recently on a lovely sunny afternoon. We sat perfectly by the water with an amazing view. The decor inside the restaurant matched the lovely summer ambience.
We ordered the Risotto for lunch which was very tasty and flavoursome. The fish and chips were spot on and we also ordered the daily special which was the Stone Bass and Truffle Mash. An exciting dish that was accompanied with a lovely pepper salsa.
Really enjoyed my lunch here with the extra special views.

We came here for my partners birthday meal and the customer service was amazing. Kat was our waitress (but all stuff were friendly) and she was very attentive, friendly and polite. She accommodated to our dietary requests with ease, thank you for a great service and the food was GREAT!

Beautiful restaurants
Amazing location the food is not bad, but it’s not the top is very expensive. There is a big problem.
Internally there is no ventilation and after a few minutes it is invaded. From the fried smell they should fix the ventilation better
For the rest everything is very pleasant, the service is exceptional. And the employees are very nice.

Lovely restaurant right on the canal bank. Well ⁹laid out and good views even if you don't get a canal side table. One thing, if you order the fish and chips, be prepared for one big 🐟 on your plate.

The Bridge House in either Paddington or little Venice, right by a canal bridge comes at you like a fun, effervescent house of madness, in the nicest way. Busy on a Saturday afternoon with lots of people wanting beer and food, lots of smiley faces. Great place for a pint...AND...I suspect, a great place for a "shared" Sunday lunch experience.
Dai Tree - a month ago
I cannot say we had a great experience here. We were looking for a typical pub with great food in an interesting area of London to meet someone who was flying in from the US. Based on the reviews and the location we chose the Bridge House. Big mistake. The entire building was wrapped up in a construction foil, not an impressive appearance. The inside decor is not bad, but I’ve seen much better elsewhere. The music playing was extremely loud to the point where we did not hear each other talk. Our requests to lower the volume met with negative answers for an hour. As there were other groups of people trying to communicate by loudly talking, we ended up threatening to leave and indicated a loss of 9 Sunday roast dinners to the management. Magic words, volume lowered to a pleasant background music. The food and drinks were very nice, but not exceptional, and we did not care much for the lounge type seating, would have preferred classic dining room.

Good pub, with large indoor and outdoor dining space. The menu is very meat heavy but they have some great veggie bar snack options. 3 bar snacks for £18 is expensive.
The area of London makes this place as you can walk by Little Venice after your meal.

What a pub, super location in Little Venice which we’ll definitely be back for! Service was amazing with very personable waiters and the food speaks for itself, got to go!

Lovely pub with outside sitting area in great location.
Good selection of drinks, the food was average. Portions on the smaller side. The sticky toffee pudding was good actually.
Staff was lovely and orders came quickly.

I recently dined at this beautiful restaurant in London, and I was absolutely blown away. The steaks are to die for—cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The wine selection was equally impressive, complementing the meal perfectly. The service was nothing short of spectacular; the staff made the entire experience unforgettable. I will definitely be visiting again whenever I’m in London. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious, it came so fast! I loved their selection of mocktails and the atmosphere was perfect with space heaters, blankets and riverside view. Cozy comfort… and the food reflected that too, with an elevated touch. The vegan options were delicious too, I had the plant-based black rice salad and the bang bang cauliflower. 😋

I ordered the superfood salad and paid extra to add hot smoked salmon. The salad was a massive portion and could easily be shared between two. The lemon dressing was exceptional and the balance between sweet and salty was perfect. 5*

Massive thank you to our server José, gave absolutely fantastic service to myself, my partner and my baby, a lovely venue and experience.
Buttermilk chicken burger, Korean wings were sticky and delicious and chocolate brownie just melted in the mouth. Food was delicious, the canal view was nice and the restaurant itself was lovely.
We went for the lunch menu of 3 courses and a drink for around £27 each and ordered extras.

Hidden beauty in the neighborhood. We haven't been here for brunch or lunch yet, but there is a very pleasant seating area in a magnificent nursery. We sometimes come here to sip our coffee. We intend to come for brunch as soon as possible. The atmosphere is great. You can also buy some kinds of accessories and plants for your garden. There are truly very beautiful pieces.

Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of the city! Tucked away within the beautiful surroundings of the Clifton Nurseries, this cafe feels like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. It has a charming and cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with friends or even spending some quiet time on your own. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by incredibly friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The service is always warm and attentive, which really enhances the overall experience.
The menu offers a great selection of delicious food, whether you're after a light snack or a more substantial meal. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty, with lovely flavors that really hit the spot. Their coffee is also fantastic—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, whether you’re starting your day or just taking a break in the afternoon.
Another plus is that they offer free Wi-Fi, which makes it a great spot for getting some work done, catching up on emails, or simply enjoying a leisurely morning with a coffee and your laptop. The setting is serene and inspiring, which makes it easy to get lost in the peaceful ambiance.
If you’re in London and looking for a tranquil hideaway with great food, excellent coffee, and wonderful service, Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommend spending some time here—you won’t be disappointed!

Hidden gem! The place is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. We ordered the avocado smash, one with poached egg and one with feta cheese. The food was good, although both drinks were served cold. The staff were nice, but unfortunately, the feta cheese dish had a hair in the toast. When I addressed this with the waiter, she just apologised and took the plate away with no further action. I then spoke to another waitress who got us a new dish, but overall, they were not professional in handling the situation.

The place is beautiful, all surrounded by plants and glass ceilings but service was very bad and food was a bit less than average. I ordered the chicken caesar salad, the chicken was fatty and didn’t have much greens. My partner ordered the salmon bagel which seemed dry and could have had more filling. For the price we paid this seemed to be extremely simple. Wouldn’t recommend for lunch.

One of my best experiences in London. For me was one of my favourite combinations, the fresh herbs are really fresh, and all the sophistication that Iranian food brings was spectacular. The restaurant is very well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place has a cozy vibe, intimate and I just missed some colours on their decor. The food was divine, specially prepared and one of the best experiences I had, we didn’t feel heavy after had different meals, proving how good they are. Highly recommend for people that likes Iranian food, or people curious about their cuisine.

So, this place is the only place in London that serves the best quality Iranian food you can get in London and they do have a decent wine collection but, if you are going there by yourself, expect to be seated downstairs literally “by yourself”. It seems they prefer to keep the upstair tables for group of people.

I don’t usually post negative reviews, nor I like to affect restaurants with low ratings, however this restaurant was on my list to visit in London . As a start when we arrived, we placed the order. Our waiter was very active and friendly, however, we received the appetizers in 30 minutes!
We then waited for the main course, as it arrived, we observed the quantity was reduced as it used to be, so my friend decided to call the manager (which I think he is the owner or the man in charge) we told him that the quantity is not as it uses to be, he then unfortunately rudely answered ( you can order more if you want, you don’t need to tell us if its less or more). We had moments of silence as a shock of that behavior of a restaurant that should be built on the pillars of hospitality and greetings.
We then decided to ignore and order desserts, we went for fallouda, the surprise is that they served as softies not the original fallouda.
With all the above, it’s gonna be impossible to return to this restaurant.

Food is just amazing, Authentic persian food with a professional twist to perfect an already perfect dish. Tasted just great you could just feel the quality and artistic touch.
I would definitely return and repeat and greatfull for such good quality food.
Best us to male a reservation in advance however I found them very friendly and accomodating. And of course very friendly.

Delicious mains! The Afghan chicken was perfectly cooked. The cod stew was almost perfect - the cod itself was tender but the prawn was far too overcooked. Portion size of starters/bread was a tad small. Service was friendly and attentive.

This has become my summer weekday regular dinner spot with my family. I like the variety of the specials. The music is good without being intrusive. The service is prompt, warm with my kids and efficient. The food is consistently good. We especially like the zucchini fritti, the margarita pizza to which we add aubergine and the Sicilian white wine by the glass.

The family and I debated to go here or the Indian place a few doors down and we ended up here and weren’t disappointed. Food was delicious, served hot and fast. My eldest kid got the Tagliatelle With Beef Ragu and I got the Tagliolini With Prawns, both were good but I preferred the prawns.

I don't get why this restaurant has always gotten bad reviews when in fact they always serve the best, especially the pizza and pasta.

About as vintage London as it gets with a mix of awesome food. Came here after seeing this on Anthony Bourdain's Layover and didn't realize that these shelters have so much history.
Ordered an egg breakfast sandwich with bacon and had a cup of tea on the side.
Fresh, delicious, affordable and the near walk to the canals to enjoy my meal was priceless.

Coffee is £1.20 but it's instant. The sandwiches are epic. You know the olde-tyme phrase "thick as a docker's sandwich"? These are the OG. Only £3. Cash only.

For those of you wanting to tour London using HG Wells’ The War of the Worlds as your guide— and who wouldn’t? This is is most likely the cabstand that the book’s narrator sleeps in the night before climbing Primrose Hill. Read the chapter ‘Dead London’ online, and marvel at how this little bit of Victorian architecture survived the onslaught of the tripods, heat rays and black smoke. A living monument to how the Great British people endured in the face of Martian belligerence. Thank God for bacteria.

We recently had the pleasure of afternoon tea at the Janan Restaurants and Bar for a special birthday occasion, and was truly delightful.
The service was impeccable from the moment that we arrived, the waiter was attentive, polite and friendly and made every detail perfect, even took a family photo contributing to a memorable celebration.
Overall, Janan exceeded our expectations, food was tasty with a nice selection particularly the cheesecake.
Lovely setting with comfortable chairs adding to a wonderful atmosphere.

Formosa Dining Room Overall Rating 4 out of 5

As a food and pub expert, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Prince Alfred in Maida Vale. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, including Aryan, Lewis, Carl, and Ollie, were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.
But what really stood out to me was the food. The Prince Alfred has an impressive menu that offers something for everyone. From classic pub fare like fish and chips and burgers to more elevated dishes like grilled octopus and lamb rump, the food was consistently delicious and beautifully presented.
I had the pleasure of meeting the two chefs, Miguel and Thomas, who clearly take great pride in their work. They were both incredibly passionate about their craft and it showed in every dish they prepared. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the ingredients were clearly of the highest quality.
One dish that particularly stood out to me was the roasted cauliflower with tahini, pomegranate, and pine nuts. It was a simple dish, but the flavors were so perfectly balanced that it was truly memorable.
Finally, I have to give a special shoutout to Nikoletta, who served as our sommelier for the evening. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine list and helped us select the perfect bottle to pair with our meal.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Prince Alfred to anyone looking for a great meal in a cozy and welcoming pub atmosphere. The staff, including Aryan, Lewis, Carl, Ollie, Miguel, Thomas, and Nikoletta, were all top-notch and the food was truly outstanding.

The food was good... but the service, appalling. The wait staff seemed keener to talk with their friends. I waited 20 mins before my order was taken and had to end up waving frantically at the wait staff to get any attention. The attitude was one where it felt like I was secondary. No water was offered. My plate was not cleared for 30.mins after I had finished my meal. I had to ask for the dessert menu. This behaviour might have been understandable if it was busy, but it was very quiet. If I was the manager I would be very concerned at the overall behaviour. I almost walked out, and members of the table beside me felt the same as we spoke whilst waiting. Unbelievable.
