The Warwick Castle 🏰 is late Victorian pub in Little Venice, just north of Paddington. A busy afternoon on a Saturday with a massively jolly atmosphere. Great beer, both keg and cask. Excellent service from all concerned, a big thank you. Jolly, mad and friendly. About right.

Unfortunately the worst roast I've ever had. This was the most dry and grey lamb, so disappointing and with children screaming and running around, trying to climb up our table chairs. I wish the staff had just been able to say something to the parents, but the staff themselves were so lovely. The vegan wellington looked nice, but tasted so bland...and the gravy...that was lumpy beatroot sauce so I don't know how that could be called an alternative to gravy.
Overall so disappointing and unfortunately would never return for this food.

Came across this pub while heading for a boat trip. What a lovely traditional pub with a nice setting in a quiet area. The service and welcome were warm, and the local beer - Made of Ale - was well kept and tasty. The pub had a nice feel to it, and seems to have a community feel. Outdoor seating is available.

Absolutely wonderful and cozy pub in a gorgeous part of London. Just a few minutes walk away from Little Venice and the Regents canal. The food is great, fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff. We will definitely be back.

Such a gorgeous pub with friendly staff and delicious food. They have Asahi, Guinness, Amstel, Camden Hells and more on tap - a great range of larger and stouts! My friends and I enjoyed a few drinks here and then decided to stay for dinner - the burgers and steak were both excellent. Definitely recommend.

Breakfast was lovely and really tasty. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was delicious, my partner had the French toast which he really enjoyed. Staff were lovely, gave us a great table and decor was stunning.
I had told them it was my partner’s birthday, and they surprised him with a scoop of ice cream - which was the perfect start to the birthday celebrations ✨❤️

A very pleasant working lunch, sat with a nice view of the canal as the early Autumn-sun shone. The food/seasoning was a little too subtle for my palette but the ingredients were of good quality and it was presented well. I had the calamari starter and sea bass special main course. I can't fault the very friendly, attentive and professional service. I'd happily return to try something with a bit more zing.

The place is very quaint. Service was so so and food wasn't up to the standard I thought it would be. Maybe because it was New Years Day and they had a couple of big parties. I would give it another try in the summer months, tho

Nestled along the charming canals, this restaurant provided the perfect setting for a memorable evening. The atmosphere is very intimate and cozy, with soft lighting and beautiful views that created a truly magical ambiance.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. We started with a platter of fresh oysters and prawns, which were perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I highly recommend the grilled trout and Mackerel. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, showcasing the freshness of the seafood and the skill of the chefs.
The service was attentive and warm, adding to the overall experience. Whether you're planning a family get-together, or a celebration with friends, the summerhouse is the ideal spot. With its relaxed vibe and sumptuous menu, it's a gem in Paddington that I can't wait to visit again.
Perfect for special occasions or simply enjoying a wonderful meal by the water, this is a must-visit for seafood lovers!

We decided to dive in here for a late lunch on Thursday and weren’t disappointed. We couldn’t resist the monk fish special and have to say it was absolutely stunning! We finished if by sharing the crumble which too was delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. Thank you Summerhouse..!

We ate here to try an English Sunday Roast in London.
Everything was perfect!
A special mention to the chicken, it was absolutely delicious 😋
Your Apple crumble is the best thing I’ve had during this trip to London 😍
We definitely had a great time with you guys ❤️👏👏👏
See you next time!!!

We had a pleasant visit to The Bridge House pub. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were absolutely fantastic—especially our waitress, Jorda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, even taking extra care with our baby.
The food, however, was just okay. We had the Sunday roast, which was tasty, but the vegetables were softer than we would have liked—we prefer them with a bit more crunch. It wasn’t a bad meal, but it didn’t quite stand out.
Overall, the service really made the experience enjoyable. If they improved the food slightly, it would be a great spot for a Sunday meal.

Pub is well placed and has been very nicely done up; food was absolutely excellent - wholesome with a twist. I recommend in particular the sea bass with potato, leek and chorizo.

The Bridge House in either Paddington or little Venice, right by a canal bridge comes at you like a fun, effervescent house of madness, in the nicest way. Busy on a Saturday afternoon with lots of people wanting beer and food, lots of smiley faces. Great place for a pint...AND...I suspect, a great place for a "shared" Sunday lunch experience.
Dai Tree - 5 months ago
I cannot say we had a great experience here. We were looking for a typical pub with great food in an interesting area of London to meet someone who was flying in from the US. Based on the reviews and the location we chose the Bridge House. Big mistake. The entire building was wrapped up in a construction foil, not an impressive appearance. The inside decor is not bad, but I’ve seen much better elsewhere. The music playing was extremely loud to the point where we did not hear each other talk. Our requests to lower the volume met with negative answers for an hour. As there were other groups of people trying to communicate by loudly talking, we ended up threatening to leave and indicated a loss of 9 Sunday roast dinners to the management. Magic words, volume lowered to a pleasant background music. The food and drinks were very nice, but not exceptional, and we did not care much for the lounge type seating, would have preferred classic dining room.

The Waterway in Little Venice is basically where good vibes and great food collide in the best possible way. The staff? They’re on point—helpful without being in your face, making you feel like you’ve just stumbled onto a secret local hangout. The vibe is relaxed but lively, with just the right amount of people so it’s never too quiet or too packed. And the food? Pure bliss. Whether you’re here for a chill brunch or a cheeky drink, everything hits the spot. Plus, you’re right next to the water, which makes it feel like you’re in a little oasis in the middle of the city. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t even think about skipping this one!

The Waterway offered fantastic food, really good service, and even better management.
I really recommend their steaks as it really was one of the best I had. The location was very welcoming, clean and elegant.
On top of all of the above, what impressed me the most it was how management was able to handle an uncomfortable situation:
During our lunch a mishap happened, and one of our personal items was damaged. Nonetheless, with extreme professionalism, the general manager Antonio, put effort in trying to remedy the situation, and proposed a satisfactory solution.
I really recommend this place for its food, location and most importantly to the attention they give to its clients. An attention that I have never found anywhere else.

I recently dined at this beautiful restaurant in London, and I was absolutely blown away. The steaks are to die for—cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The wine selection was equally impressive, complementing the meal perfectly. The service was nothing short of spectacular; the staff made the entire experience unforgettable. I will definitely be visiting again whenever I’m in London. Highly recommend!

Amazingly chill New Year’s Day in this riverside joint. The virgin mary rocked my socks off, especially when combined with the wonderfully crispy, chicken burger.
Staff friendly and mostly on it, and let us hang for longer than expected.
Highly recommended.

Food was delicious, it came so fast! I loved their selection of mocktails and the atmosphere was perfect with space heaters, blankets and riverside view. Cozy comfort… and the food reflected that too, with an elevated touch. The vegan options were delicious too, I had the plant-based black rice salad and the bang bang cauliflower. 😋

Hidden beauty in the neighborhood. We haven't been here for brunch or lunch yet, but there is a very pleasant seating area in a magnificent nursery. We sometimes come here to sip our coffee. We intend to come for brunch as soon as possible. The atmosphere is great. You can also buy some kinds of accessories and plants for your garden. There are truly very beautiful pieces.

Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of the city! Tucked away within the beautiful surroundings of the Clifton Nurseries, this cafe feels like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. It has a charming and cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with friends or even spending some quiet time on your own. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by incredibly friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The service is always warm and attentive, which really enhances the overall experience.
The menu offers a great selection of delicious food, whether you're after a light snack or a more substantial meal. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty, with lovely flavors that really hit the spot. Their coffee is also fantastic—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, whether you’re starting your day or just taking a break in the afternoon.
Another plus is that they offer free Wi-Fi, which makes it a great spot for getting some work done, catching up on emails, or simply enjoying a leisurely morning with a coffee and your laptop. The setting is serene and inspiring, which makes it easy to get lost in the peaceful ambiance.
If you’re in London and looking for a tranquil hideaway with great food, excellent coffee, and wonderful service, Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommend spending some time here—you won’t be disappointed!

A hidden gem that is a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Little Venice. My family and I were visiting London a month ago, and we are so lucky to have found this incredible nursery. We had lunch at the cafe, which was nestled inside the nursery surrounded by incredible plants & vegetation. The service was superb as well, especially our server who was Italian, she was really helpful and accommodating. If anyone's in the area I would highly recommend this place for lunch or even just a visit!

One of my best experiences in London. For me was one of my favourite combinations, the fresh herbs are really fresh, and all the sophistication that Iranian food brings was spectacular. The restaurant is very well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place has a cozy vibe, intimate and I just missed some colours on their decor. The food was divine, specially prepared and one of the best experiences I had, we didn’t feel heavy after had different meals, proving how good they are. Highly recommend for people that likes Iranian food, or people curious about their cuisine.
Thiers - 4 months ago
It is a great place to grab some authentic/Fusion with a Western twist to Iranian dishes. With all the hype, it did not disappoint but didn’t live up to our expectations!
Being on Micheline guide, we were expecting more, to be honest!
I’ll break down the Pros & Cons here, as Persian;
- Great interior, nice decoration inside,
On the different floors, there is a portrait of Farrah, the former Queen and last Empress (شهبانو, Shahbanu) of Iran, and notes with the Shah from 70’s - and a few other historical pieces from the Persian Empire, which are always lovely to see.
Pros;
- Cosy and warm atmosphere inside, combined with great hosts, which are very charming and welcoming.
- Pistachio Cream Brûlée is the one to die for.
Cons;
Tiny portions, very twisted for Western liking rather than authentic Persian charm (such a shame).
The chicken was quite undercooked. While it was nice and tasty, it should have been grilled more to represent the Persian Jooje Kabab.
The modern twist and touch are nice, but for what you pay at any other Persian restaurant in London, you get to feed five people; only two can eat there.
- Wine is a bit pricy; again, their large glass is a medium anywhere else.
- Felt like a bit of a ripoff, frankly.
The service is good but can be better. It lacks professionalism or is a bit messy, but it's okay.
Would we return? I'm not sure.
I liked it but wasn't massively impressed. It lacks character and authenticity, and the portions are too small.
Thank You, Merci.
Mr-P - 4 months ago
This restaurant has been my go-to spot for Persian cuisine for years, and I’ve always considered it one of the best. Unfortunately, my last visit didn’t live up to the usual high standards.
The biggest issue was the pricing—while I understand occasional increases, the current prices are far too high for what you get. Portion sizes have also shrunk noticeably, making it even harder to justify the cost. To make matters worse, both the koobideh and barg kebabs were overcooked, losing the tenderness and juiciness that made them a favorite in the past.
That said, the service remains excellent. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which is one of the main reasons I’ve kept coming back. I just hope the food quality improves to match the warm hospitality again.
Had given 5 stars before but now changing it to 3.
Ali Sahba - in the last week
As a native, this is by far the best Persian restaurant in town. Whenever I have guests visiting, this is the first place that comes to mind. My family visit Kateh twice every month. The produce used is of the highest quality and this is reflected in the depth of the flavours experienced. Authentic flavours in an eclectic space. Highly recommended!
Ahmed Soussi - a month ago
The main food was great, I actually loved the smaller portions compared to typical persian restaurants. The kabab torsh and morgh torsh were amazing!
It was a bit hot inside and the ambiance could have been nicer (eg the table placement), but the food was one of the best persian foods i have had outside iran.

Hidden gem! Great food! The mains are amazing! The pizzas here beat any of these “instagramable” pizza venues in London.

This has become my summer weekday regular dinner spot with my family. I like the variety of the specials. The music is good without being intrusive. The service is prompt, warm with my kids and efficient. The food is consistently good. We especially like the zucchini fritti, the margarita pizza to which we add aubergine and the Sicilian white wine by the glass.

About as vintage London as it gets with a mix of awesome food. Came here after seeing this on Anthony Bourdain's Layover and didn't realize that these shelters have so much history.
Ordered an egg breakfast sandwich with bacon and had a cup of tea on the side.
Fresh, delicious, affordable and the near walk to the canals to enjoy my meal was priceless.

Coffee is £1.20 but it's instant. The sandwiches are epic. You know the olde-tyme phrase "thick as a docker's sandwich"? These are the OG. Only £3. Cash only.

For those of you wanting to tour London using HG Wells’ The War of the Worlds as your guide— and who wouldn’t? This is is most likely the cabstand that the book’s narrator sleeps in the night before climbing Primrose Hill. Read the chapter ‘Dead London’ online, and marvel at how this little bit of Victorian architecture survived the onslaught of the tripods, heat rays and black smoke. A living monument to how the Great British people endured in the face of Martian belligerence. Thank God for bacteria.
Gareth Griffiths - 3 years ago
This is one of 13 remaining cabmen's shelters left in London. They were originally established in 1875 to provide shelter for the drivers of hansom cabs and thereafter Hackney carriages (taxicabs). They are grade II listed buildings.

Formosa Dining Room Overall Rating 4 out of 5

The food was good... but the service, appalling. The wait staff seemed keener to talk with their friends. I waited 20 mins before my order was taken and had to end up waving frantically at the wait staff to get any attention. The attitude was one where it felt like I was secondary. No water was offered. My plate was not cleared for 30.mins after I had finished my meal. I had to ask for the dessert menu. This behaviour might have been understandable if it was busy, but it was very quiet. If I was the manager I would be very concerned at the overall behaviour. I almost walked out, and members of the table beside me felt the same as we spoke whilst waiting. Unbelievable.

A Fantastic Dining Experience at Chakra – Highly Recommended!
I recently visited Chakra in Little Venice for the first time, and it certainly won’t be my last! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—the staff were incredibly accommodating and professional. A special mention to Yuvraj, who was exceptionally kind and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.
Another standout was Flo, who went above and beyond to serve us the most delightful tea, even though it’s not typically offered in the evening. It was a warm and thoughtful touch that truly made me feel at home.
Now, onto the food—simply divine! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself has a wonderful ambiance, making for an unforgettable fine dining experience.
If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine in a fantastic setting, I highly recommend Chakra. I can’t wait to return!

Absolutely loved the food here, quite authentic North Indian cuisine. Plenty of options for vegetarians/vegans.

Went today, was honestly such a great experience. From the moment we entered until we left, we were well taken care of. The server was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious. I had a starter, main dish, dessert and drink for under £20 with The Fork App, honestly so worth it.
My friend did accidentally order the wrong thing and they were very accommodating and helped find a solution. A hidden gem 💎 5/5.
