I went there for afternoon tea. It is one of the best places I tried. The sandwiches selection and desserts looked nice and tasted good. The staff were nice and friendly. It was busy and they were 2 and they were trying their best to accommodate everyone. Taki was very helpful and accommodating for our requirements. Overall it is highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights in April 2024 for a special birthday weekend. Fantastic hotel and friendly, helpful staff. Eclectic Kit Kemp décor with a homely ambiance. The breakfasts were really excellent. Comfortable bed , 2 sink bathroom with a proper bath.. cannot stand showers lol !
Great location ..walking distance to all the Kensington museums and South Ken tube station. Would love to stay there again !

Absolutely AMAZING! Wife and I spent 5 days here while on vacation. Central to everything we could want. South Kensington was not too touristy while still being a 15 minute cab ride to just about anything. Walked to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace.
The staff was attentive while also being out of the way. We wouldn't hesitate booking another stay!

We had afternoon tea very nice and elegant.
We didn’t stay in the hotel itself, so I don’t have a clear idea about the rooms.

Very lively & vibrant place to hang out over a drink & tapas on a summer evening and we were seated outside at the Al fresco area. The bar tender Jose was very friendly & I have 2 cocktails called Verano Verde which h was awesome. We were a big group & the staff were attentive. The food was great & each of us manage 2-3 items to share @ o really love the gambas, squid ink paella, grilled octopus.

Relaxing. Delicious. Worth the price.
I usually avoid restaurants close to tourist attractions, but I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great - definitely get one of the veggie sides with it or it gets a bit heavy. Refreshing fresh squeezed juice; I was not drinking when I went but the table next to me loved the house rosé and the reds.

Good Afternoon dear people 🤗 hope you are having a lovely day! It’s raining in London, but I kind of like it. It soothes me right now. Anyway, I know I have been super busy and traveling and have so many reviews to do. Here is a quick review that I just recently went. It is a Spanish Tapas in South Kensington and here are my thoughts. Let me start with the timing since I didn’t have a reservation it took about 35 minutes to be seated. Keep that in mind since weekends are busy. Started with a drink, Sangria wine with fruits and it was lovely and refreshing. The dish I absolutely LOVED it’s called Huevos Rotos, potatoes and egg with roasted vegetables and delicious Mallorcan pig sobrasada! This was beyond my expectations! Must try! The potatoes are by far one of the best I Have Ever Tried! The combo is so different and it melts in your mouth! The second dish it’s called Ajo Blanco chargrilled hispi cabbage with chestnut, almond and garlic cream! I liked this as well. Only maybe tiny bit more to cook it so it has more texture and bite to it. Next one it’s something I was skeptical about, but nicely surprised. Garbanzos beans with tomato sauce and crunchy nuts and shredded egg was so delicious. The beans were perfectly cooked.(I dislike so much when they undercook the beans) so bravo! Croquetas de Jamon were super tasty and crunchy outside. Patatas Bravas were Average , cut too big and the Garlic Alioli had way too much Garlic! Dear Chef this is big NO! I would get rid of this dish completely. Drum roll please 🥁🥁🥁…well now we talk about the Pork Dish! Since I come from the land where we are called, “The Meat Scientists”, (sorry if you are Vegan) I must tell you honestly what I think about the pork dish. It was very delicious in general, lovely mix of flavors but unable to chew the meat at all! Which made me frustrated! The big beans were also so hard and undercooked! So dear Chef, PLEASE FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY! I will come back again and I hope you make me Happy! 🙏🤗

Had an exceptional lunch there today. Was fully booked but managed to fit us in at the bar area. The service from the staff behind the bar was impeccable. Friendly and welcoming.
The food was fantastic. We had about 7 dishes (check the photos) and were both nice and full by the end of it.
Standouts were the chorizo and pork belly. The prawns were great too. Pro tip, dip the bread on both sides into the prawn/gambas sauce after you finish the prawns. It was heavenly. All dishes were quality.
Great and authentic tapas in south Ken.

The hotel is nice, but not overwhelming nice or even close to deserving of a 5-star rating.
There are many minor details that appear to have just been glossed over, damaged surfaces, rusty taps, dirty windows and broken floors.
I had heard noise all night from inside and outside the hotel, disrupting sleep but the beds were incredibly comfortable.
My minibar had melted through the top, leaving a massive mark. The prices were also much higher than other central London hotels.
I can not in good faith say this is a 5 star hotel. Perhaps a low 4-star.

My room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was modern but could have used brighter lighting. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The hotel decor could use some updating

I have had a reservation last week, the location was ideal and so were the rooms and the general cleanliness of the establishment. The hotel and La Trattoria staff were perfectly lovely except the manager whom I assume is called George. He was not only extensively unhelpful when I asked him to attend to minor service requests but likewise seemed inconvenciend and disinterested towards any further quieres I made, seemingly not paying me or my companion any attention even standing and chatting directly beside us. He appeared to be inebriated or under the influence of something which is extremely unprofessional and left me absolutely appalled by the service. He constantly spoke down to all the lovely young staff who serviced me and my partner, and seemed almost irritated that we were being serviced promptly while not paying attention to us even once. Had it not been for the manager I would have left a five star review for the amazing dishes and my beautiful stay but as the evening was absolutely spoiled by his attitude I have to leave an unfortunately low review. If you are eating at La trattoria, please avoid making any requests to the manager at all costs.

We were really skeptical about eating here but glad we went anyway.
The staff were so friendly and attentive. The table was not cleaned when we were taken to our table but they made sure to remove the dirt when we requested a clean. That was much appreciated.
The food did not take long to come and it was delicious and so filling. The lamb was well cooked and seasoned well. I had to get a (free) takeaway pack for the rest of the lamb as I was stuffed!
If we happen to be in the area again, I would definitely come again. I recommend.

Dined early in time for a concert. Needed to ask for the advertised early bird menu and they didn't seem happy to provide it. Starter was good. Main green curry was miserable, thin watery tasteless sauce, dry chicken and rice. A green curry should be the flagship of a Thai restaurant but it was a big disappointment.

A Polish friend suggested this restaurant and we didn’t regret. Great dinner overall. The dumplings as starters are a must, loved them, especially the one with meat and the other with mushrooms. Also the rabbit as main was good. The pork was a bit too small compared to the rabbit portion.
Overall happy with the food and service. The waitress kindly offered four shots of cherry vodka.

We went for a late lunch on Saturday and had the best time.
The restaurant is beautiful inside and has a distinct charm, like a place frozen in time.
The food was delicious. We had the dumplings and salmon starters, pork and veal meatballs for main and a cheesecake for desert. Absolutely everything was perfect and the dumplings were so good we ordered more!
Service was perfect, everyone was very friendly and attentive; topping up wine and water without us having to ask. They even threw in some free vodka shots at the end!
Very much recommend to anyone and we’ll certainly be going back!

A great meal. I'd love to go back and explore the menu thoroughly, but it's a little pricey for what you get. Great service and atmosphere.
All 3 types of dumplings were tasty but especially the cabbage and mushroom. Chicken soup was cracking.
Veal escalopes cooked a touch more than I would like but with a great sauce, cod was tasty and well cooked but the raw spinach served with it is not particularly exciting. The fish doesn't come with anything else, and I felt both mains could have used another little something on the plate (veg or carbs respectively).
The cheese pancake was wonderful and generous (other desserts looked substantial too) and reminiscent of the Topfen that appears in Austrian sweets. Good quality homely food, cooked well.
Service was high quality but not aloof and honestly in terms of atmosphere, Daquise is absolutely how a restaurant should be - filled with conversation but not crowded, classy but not austere, and homely without feeling dingy. Thank you for the lovely lunch.

Absolutely fire!!!!! The food was fantastic, especially the lamb and fish curries. My favourite was the butter chicken. The atmosphere was great too, Ahmed being a great host and recommended my family and I some good choices. A great night out. (Plus their kitchens open till half 10!)
julian - 2 months ago
Went here with my family on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The portions are a little small, for Indian food, but also for the price. Aside from this, the food was good: the chicken from three various dishes were all flavorful, some a little dry, the naan bread was very good, and the rice was flavorful and warm. The staff was polite and accommodating as well. Not a bad place to go if your in the neighborhood and need a solid meal.

I’ve been there the other night with a friend of mine bc it’s super close to V&A museum; the food was genuinely great, the fish curry melted in my mouth! Not only the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been, but one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Super recommended! The staff is also very polite, friendly and knowledgeable on what to pick 🥰

Loved our dinner here tonight! The food was amazing and the staff was very polite and courteous. This would especially be a great date night spot. All of their drinks are non-alcoholic, which is something different to make this place stand out!

Fantastic first dinner in our latest visit to London. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried, and service was brisk and attentive in this busy local Kensington restaurant.
We tried the pepper shrimp and chili paneer as appetizers and they were both excellent. The pepper shrimp was well accented by the generous red onion and peppers, all well salted and peppered. The chili paneer sauce was light but with a generous amount of heat, and the quality of the cheese was superb.
We also had the samosas and they were fine, not particularly remarkable.
For the mains, we had the lamb chops, butter chicken, saag paneer, aloo jeera, and the yellow rice with cashews. All were great but the lamb chops and butter chicken in particular were just next level. There was a sweet and smoky combination to the butter chicken sauce that was otherworldly, and the lamb chops were seasoned, seared, and grilled to perfection.
Food came out quickly, and we were never left waiting during our meal. Decor was simple and tasteful.
Highly recommended if you're anywhere close by.

The atmosphere and food at Rocca are both fantastic. We stayed in London for ten days, and we dined there twice. The roast chicken is unforgettable, with fresh and tender meat, making it a great choice for high-quality protein. Both adults and children loved it. The staff were busy but very friendly. If you are staying in South Kensington, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

My friend and I happened to stumble
upon this place by chance! And what can one say! Oh la la !!! The Italian cuisine was excellent, especially the pizza which was exceptionally delicious. We were served by the delightful Abdul Karcy who was very attentive and friendly. It was evident that he prioritized the satisfaction of his customers in everything he did. One of the best italian restaurants in London

We were visiting London and were heading out for a pint and some pub grub. Rocca was right down the street from our hotel, and Italian sounded like a nice change of pace instead. Great choice! If you’re looking for white table cloths and expensive bottles of wine, this isn’t it. But it isn’t your average pizza place either. Good food with lots of choices, an outstanding staff, and reasonably priced, considering the location.

We were here on holiday and really wanted good Italian but we were in a huge hurry and needed something really close to our hotel. Luckily we asked at the concierge for a recommendation and without hesitation the guy told us to go to Rocca. It absolutely hit the spot. Everything was great but my (picky) daughter’s pasta rose and my lobster tortellini were to die for. Fabulous lunch!

It was our first time here and it was amazing. The price point is still reasonable knowing it is located in South Kensington.
We got a good selection of food. The Unagi don was soooo soft (but still have to be careful of the little bones), the Spicy Ramen and Tori Yaki Ramen had good amount of flavour and noodles, and the sushi was generous on the topping.
The restaurant itself it was aesthetically pleasing.
Definitely recommend this place!!

The atmosphere was lovely! My family and I stopped by for some fish and chips and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Staff were exceptional and the food was well made and well served. Our server, Stephan, was especially helpful (including when he helped me open my tea bottle

Lovely little pub located in South Kensington, not far from the station. The food selection was very appealing, it was hard to choose what to order. We ordered the steak ciabatta sandwich, which was very good, however the steak pieces were very large and a little tough. They could have cut the steak slightly smaller to make it easier to eat, however, overall it was still very tasty and I would 100% order again! The wine was also very nice, and such a gorgeous location.
Chloe Bassett - 2 months ago
For a Greene King, I really liked this pub. It was glorious in the sunshine and the prices weren’t too bad. But for me, the shining star was the staff : every staff member with whom our group spoke was very kind. It was busy enough that you might expect staff to be short with you, but even when busy they were happy to go out of their way to help.
We had the squid and Mac and cheese with bacon. I thought the bacon would be a bit more chopped up when it arrived but no bother!

We went there randomly after a visit at the Natural History Museum and couldn't have been happier. Stayed way longer than planned, had dinner in the upstairs dining room and later sat downstairs to drink a couple of pints. Staff is on point, quick and friendly. The atmosphere outside on a slow summer day is amazing.
