It’s smaller than I expected.
But that wasn’t a big issue. I think it’s nice and cosy, the two Lane area was ideal for events or big group.
Biggest issue for me was the time restraint. I think they need to give a longer time for people to play, you can’t even order snacks and drinks and play casually, we end up rushing the last game just to finish. And the balls keep getting stuck on the side.

Gathering after work, which was great fun and easy to find. Underground kinda as you would walk down the stairs into the 90s style neon light entrance. They serve food and drinks here with a bar area. I note they got private rooms as well on the day. Bowling only 4 lines so it's a rather small place. Staff were friendly and helpful with setting up the game quickly. Parking after 6:30pm a street across is free but near tube station/ bus transportation anyways.

This location offers a bowling alley, a bar/ lounge area and a section for quick bites and eating. It's a really nice place. The staff were polite, the cocktail I had was really nice as well as the chicken wings. The price was fair and value foe money.
We had to wait for about 20 mins for a free bowling area but it wasn't crowded. The bowling screens and area functioned properly.
It's a nice place for a date night, quick bites with friends and generally great for group hangouts.
The music choices over the speakers were great as well.
I rate them solid.

Fantastic venue! My new favourite hide-away this winter. This place has character, with gorgeous old-school bowling, lovely staff, and delicious (well-priced) food and drinks.
Ten out of ten - best bowling in London, and an excellent little date / party spot too.

Visited for my anniversary and had a great time! While the drinks were a bit on the pricey side, the bowling experience was fantastic. The atmosphere was lively. I would come again.

Good location between 2 tube stations, clean and quiet. Had an iron in the room- no fridge. Had espresso machine and kettle which were nice. Good tub/shower. Small room overall but nice sized bed. Small lifts, bar and restaurant in the hotel with reasonable prices. Not really a lobby for sitting. They will hold you luggage while you wait to check in or after checkout. My room only had a view of a brick wall.

Having visited London many times, I've now found my go-to hotel. The rooms were great, as was the location close to multiple Tube stops and the British Museum. The staff was friendly, helpful, efficient, and professional. We could not have been more pleased. We only took the Tube a few times because we walked to many of the places we wanted to visit.

Just back from a two night stay, our standard room on the top floor had seen better days but it was peaceful, with a nice view, good air con and a decent size (for London). The location is perfect for the British Museum also handy for Covent Garden and the West End with a couple of decent pubs just across the road. Breakfast was pretty good too and staff friendly.

Just finished a 4 day stay starting Sept 6, 2024. Great quite location but still very close to everything! Room was very nice with good size bathroom and great shower! All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to especially recognize Sarath who seemed to be in charge of the restaurant which we eat at every morning. I travel a lot and I’ve never seen someone so attentive to what the guests need or want! His example has obviously rubbed off on Raj as well! Great stay, thank you.

For some reason they remodeled the pub (not sure how long ago) with these wooden cubicle type areas around the bar area, which just kills the atmosphere (feels very closed in), it has lost it's charm. They still have a small open area in the back of the pub with the traditional open area which is where you will find everyone and a very small area at the front of the bar,(which on a Friday afternoon is a very old crowd). Standard beers on taps. Service is fine.

Victorian pub with beautiful embossed glass, wooden traditional decor. Other than small open area, there’s wooden cube set up around the bar with privacy.
Impeccable service.
Cons:
-very limited beer choice, only Sam smith lager and ‘ stout’. (Larger half pint£3.80)
-disgusting smell in toilets ( both gents and ladies)

🚇Holborn
🍺 £6.70 Taddy Lager
The Princess Louise is located on bustling High Holborn in Central London. The nearest Tube is Holborn which is just around the corner.
This pub was built in 1872 and is Grade II listed. Princess Louise was the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and this is the only UK pub named after her. In 2007 the pub went through a comprehensive restoration which saw the reinstatement of the original multi-roomed layout with wood and etched glass dividing walls.
The decor here is jaw droppingly beautiful, this is one of the finest preserved Victorian pub interior’s in London. At the centre of the pub is an ornate mahogany servery with a carved wood back bar. Fanning off the servery are several bars, snugs and booths. Upstairs is a carpeted bar predominantly used for dining. Everywhere you look there are stunning details like enormous engraved and gilt mirrors, Portland stone columns, etched mirrors and stained glass, marble fireplaces and Victorian tiles. You’ll find some the best finery is in the corridors, the mosaic flooring is just exquisite. The Gents toilet is also something to marvel.
This is a Sam Smith’s pub, so the beer offering is all in house brews which included two cask ales. I decided on a pint of Taddy Lager, my pint was great, price point was high. The food menu is hearty pub classics.
I arrived around 2pm on a Friday afternoon in April. I thought I’d visit before the post work rush so I could have a good gander at the splendour. The pub wasn’t overly busy and felt calm and relaxed. As most of you know Sam Smith’s pubs have no TV’s or background music, so you could have heard a mouse fart. The service was excellent, I had a nice chat with the Guv’nor who has also run The Yorkshire Grey near the beeb.
Holborn is an area I love visiting as it is a goldmine for beautiful boozers. The Princess Louise is a simply stunning pub, its opulence and grandeur is something to behold. If you are ever in this part of town, be sure to visit this beautiful London pub.

Very atmospheric place(paintings, two floors, lamps, warm lights), but the rest is not on the same level. Pie was too crunchy and dry, definitely microwaved - cold outside and hot as hell inside. Waited order very long, hadn't got my tea(when it was brought, the cup was not clean). The portion was quite little for a pretty high price.
Ivan “Steph” Iushkevich - 2 months ago
Very quiet on a summer Monday afternoon with just me and a couple of American tourists quenching their thirst in this watering hole in their European tour. The place sells nothing but Samuel Smith beers of all sorts which happen to be one of my favourite British alcoholic gems. My apricot fruit beer is refreshing but a little on the sweet side. The Victorian decor - repetitive flower mouldings, patterned ceiling, dark stained woodwork … are very quaint but can feel overwhelming. Space is limited so if the crowds come, will be shoulder to shoulder in no time. I did spent a comfortable afternoon pub crawl with the Princess Louise as first stop. Not disappointed.

I am a regular customer of the Oak Room at The Ship Tavern and it is one of my favourite places to have a meal for many reasons.
I usually have their Beef Wellington, as it is one of my favourite dishes, but even the starters are all well cooked and tasty. Also, their sticky toffee pudding is divine and I like how they serve it with clotted cream instead of ice cream like many other places.
However, what really makes The Ship Tavern special is the amazing staff. Everyone (and I mean everyone) is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Even when they are very busy, they make time to make sure you are comfortable or just have a quick chat. It really makes a difference.
I always look forward to my next visit to The Ship Tavern and definitely recommend it if you want to have great British food in a friendly and relaxing environment.

very cozy place, the service is very good, the food is also not bad for such a price, it took maybe a little more taste, but overall everything is really good, the house wine is great, would I go there again, I really do. on the first floor of the restaurant you can also taste many different beers. after delicious food and a cold glass of beer I was satisfied

I've been to this pub a few times now, sometimes just for a drink and occasionally for dinner. The pub itself is on the ground floor and offers a good selection of beers and a nice chatty atmosphere. The upstairs though is the gem, a really lovely and typically English restaurant. On my last visit I had pork belly and it was delicious, my friends had pie of the day and turbot respectively. All the food was eaten and thoroughly enjoyed, even though the portions were enormous. Our waitress was really charming and efficient. The wood panelling and total decor is classy. Nothing to dislike in my view.

Upstairs for dining -- cozy (small and tight), downstairs is the tavern. Wonderful atmosphere with standing room outside. Everything from bar snacks to small dishes to real meals; I had the smoked chorizo and the pot pie of the day, and onion rings another time.
Beers on tap and plenty of gins, including one only available at Ships!

Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere. This places got it all. Been there a couple times and loved it each time. This is one of the places where you could bring your friends who visiting London. Sadly I don’t have a video of one of the meals which they serve with a domed lid with steam inside, looks impressive! and taste amazing as well. Their desserts are very good too! So, basically anything they serve will not disappoint you. Definitely recommend! The staff is always nice and polite.

Popped in on a weekday lunch time with laptop, got a table by the window in the sunshine. Was a great spot. Had monkfish and prawn curry, was lush on a crisp English day. Staff were friendly and helpful, would come again.

Brilliant and friendly people working here, really lifted the mood. Spent a fortune as a result, but worth it. Decent food, must say.
The staff and bar people make this place a real winner.
The echoing in the room was a bit much, all very hard furniture and wood floor I guess, but couldn’t hear a thing. But that’s probably my age!

Love the square pig , always our favourite pub for after work drinks. However yesterday we was quite bluntly and rudely asked to leave 20 mins before our table booking was over due to the people who were booked on to the table after us arriving to the pub early. And then when we asked “why ?” ,we was told by the member of staff “They’re here early , if you’ve got a problem sort it out with them not me” which we thought was quite blunt and quite frankly a bit of a strange response to what we believe to be quite a valid question 😂.Is that a rule you’ve always had ? We’ll be back next week after work of course but just something I thought I’d raise as we enjoy the establishment .

The Square Pig is one of my absolute fave London pubs! The food is absolutely delicious (especially the small plates), and they always have a great selection of interesting beers on tap - not the same old Amstel etc you seem to see everywhere else! Team are super friendly and you can tell that they just all get on with each other really well. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Stopped in here for a quick brunch before visiting the British Museum. Tried the smoked salmon and scrambled egg pancakes as well as the Eggs Florentine with smoked salmon pancakes.
Really impressive portion size with generous helpings of eggs and smoked salmon. The pancakes were delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try some more options.
I also tried the autumn specials - Gingerbread Latte and Pumpkin Spice Latte, and they left me feeling so warm and cozy on a cold, cold morning.

I recently visited My Old Dutch Pancake House and had a delightful experience. We tried their crepe-style pancakes, and they were absolutely delicious, with a perfect blend of texture and flavor. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a tasty and satisfying meal!

I came here for a birthday party. Positively, the service was attentive and friendly. The food itself was overpriced and tasted okay. I ordered the salmon and mushroom pancake which was risky given how tempting the sweet options were.
The pancake tasted good but there was almost a packet of mushrooms in there.
I would have preferred lower prices and more reasonable portion size. If you are looking for a really big pancake, you will get it here, I’m just not sure it is worth every bite.

Lovely pancakes that are filling, tasty and look amazing. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in, despite us not having a reservation. The restaurant is huge and nicely decorated. I also liked the choice of drinks, especially the fruit beers! We only had savoury pancakes, but was envious of the sweet ones going to other tables. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want amazing pancakes!

The salad choice is great and reasonably priced. The warm buffet is a bit hit an miss - be careful with anything that contains minced meat. I had meatballs recently (not for the first time) and they were lamb. They weren't declared as lamb meatballs. I also had a 'beef pastry bake' and could taste lamb. I suspect they were a mix of beef and lamb. I can't stand lamb, so both times my money was wasted. It's just not on to not declare the type of meat correctly.

On my way to work I pop in for a light breakfast; my colleagues and I without a doubt always go for lunch.. Their hot food options are of such quality and variety that you'll never get bored.
Staff are helpful and friendly, always served promptly!

I would give it 6 stars if I could.
The food is so good that there is a danger you might bite your fingers, I suggest you try the lasagne and other hot food for lunch. The prices are more than reasonable, in fact far cheaper than other local options. Box of hot food under a mere £6. Fresh orange juice for under £2.
Staff are very friendly and informative making it a welcoming place. I come for coffee and lunch Monday to Friday without fail and even during lunch the queue moves on efficiently like a Japanese train.

I was in the area for a few days for training and went here every day! A wide range of amazing tasting food. Coffee's are relatively cheap compared to other places and taste exactly the same (coming from an old barista). Hot food at lunch varies every day aswell as the salad bar.
Would definitely recommend purely due to fresh and great tasting food aswell as the good pricing.

We really enjoyed the Sunday Roast Beef dinner! This was our first meal in the city after long flights and travel and it did not disappoint!
You will not walk away hungry…the portions are very generous. The roast beef was very tender and the cheesy cauliflower was wonderful!
The staff were very kind and ready to make us comfortable!
Great spot for a nice beer and comfort food!

Lovely cosy pub. I visited last night and had a wonderful experience. Live DJ and great atmosphere. Unfortunately I never caught her name but I was served by a lovely lady who was very helpful and chatty. Congrats to her for graduating from kings. The shots were a good price and the Guinness had a very funny logo. Would recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting the area

I LOVED my first ever Sunday Roast at this cozy establishment. Not only was the food super yummy and the Guiness came as per my request with two dollops of syrup (yes I am one of those) but our special day became even more special as I noticed a funny foam art on top of the Guiness head - to my surprise and delight. I added some pictures to share my 'ooh' moment here.
Even more delightful was Christof, who came in announcing that they could take a photo of us and print it out (edible vegan ink) on our foam top as well and of course we went for it!
Definitely pleased this is where we chose to spend this beautiful Sunday - thank you Christof and team White Hart!
