5 Star Rating My first time at The Wolseley in Piccadilly. I took a friend to lunch there, as a birthday treat. It’s a lovely restaurant, with a Viennese feel to the food and décor. We were sat at a window seat, and the whole experience was high quality. The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the kedgeree. We will definitely return in the near future.

5 Star Rating Warning: California/Oregon Native here so this review will have a west coast American bias. We went to The Wolseley for afternoon tea on our first day in London. My wife had been there several years ago and wanted me to experience it. We both did the CLASSIC AFTERNOON TEA. I selected the English Breakfast Tea and my wife went with Earl Grey. Both were brewed perfectly and served in the cutest kettles. Almost all the Kettles we saw around us were unique/different which I thought was a lot of fun. If you have never done afternoon tea it's definitely something you should experience. The clotted cream with scones was just amazing and paired perfectly with tea. The small sandwiches were mostly good. I wasn't a fan of the onion one, but the cucumber, salmon, and egg were all excellent. Our least favorite bits were the desserts, but they were okay. Just not something I would specifically go back for. I'd take more scones and clotted cream to be honest. If you're going to go for Afternoon Tea in London, 10/10 would recommend going here. You won’t be disappointed.

5 Star Rating It was the best cafe I've been to in London. I liked it so much that I went there twice while traveling in London. The eggs benedict was really delicious, and I was especially impressed by the French toast. It was the best French toast I've ever had. In addition, it was a really classy and luxurious atmosphere, and the gentle staff made it a memorable and happy time. I will definitely go there again when I come to London.

5 Star Rating The Wolseley, an elegant café-restaurant in London's Piccadilly, offers a quintessentially British dining experience that pays homage to its history as a former motor garage. The interior exudes a grand atmosphere, reminiscent of classic European brasseries, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Their Traditional English Breakfast is a highlight, featuring perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, premium sausages, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and toast, all served with a side of black pudding. The portion is generous, embodying the essence of this beloved morning fare. Equally noteworthy is the Bubble and Squeak, a comforting dish made from leftover vegetables, particularly potatoes and cabbage, which is pan-fried to create a crispy exterior while retaining a soft, flavorful inside. The Wolseley elevates this classic dish, adding a touch of refinement. Overall, The Wolseley combines historical charm with exceptional British cuisine, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of traditional fare in an iconic setting.

3 Star Rating Since it was our first time in the UK, we felt that trying the famous afternoon tea was a must. However, the experience fell short of our expectations in several aspects—food, tea, service, and atmosphere. Starting with the food, it was decent but not particularly memorable. We had seen reviews mentioning unlimited servings, but that wasn’t the case for us. The selection included sandwiches, scones, and a few desserts, along with a single pot of tea without refills. The scones were fine—perhaps slightly better than what you’d find at Starbucks—but nothing exceptional. The sandwiches were underwhelming, and while the desserts were enjoyable, they weren’t particularly impressive. As for the service, there wasn’t much to comment on, as it was practically nonexistent. Since we’re in Europe, we didn’t have high expectations for service, so this aspect wasn’t particularly surprising. The biggest letdown, however, was the atmosphere. The space was incredibly crowded, with tables placed so closely together that it was difficult to have a conversation without overhearing those around us. We were also seated at the very back, which didn’t contribute to a particularly pleasant experience. That said, given the price point, this was one of the more affordable “luxury” afternoon tea options in London. While we had hoped for a more enjoyable experience, we recognize that it offered a relatively accessible way to try this tradition. However, considering the overall quality of the food, setting, and service, it didn’t feel like great value for money. Overall, we’d give it three stars.

3 Star Rating I recently had dinner here, and while the food was truly exceptional, there is some room for improvement in the overall dining experience. The meal was an absolute highlight—the burger was perfectly prepared with great texture and flavour, and the portion sizes were generous. I particularly enjoyed the hot sauce and gravy; they added a unique touch to the dish. My compliments to the chef and the kitchen team for their excellent work—it was clear they put a lot of care and attention into the food. As for the service, while the basics were handled well, I felt the experience was a bit rushed at times. For instance, when I didn’t catch what the waiter said and asked him to repeat, his response came across as quite loud, which felt a little abrupt. Additionally, when I was pouring water, the waiter unexpectedly took the bottle from me and poured it himself—an interesting gesture that might not suit everyone’s preferences. Towards the end of the meal, I requested the bill but felt prompted to pay quite quickly, which left me less time to enjoy my drink. The total was also announced aloud, which caught me off guard. While this may have been unintentional, it felt slightly out of place for the level of service I anticipated at this price point. Lastly, as I was leaving, I noticed the waiter turned away instead of acknowledging my departure, which felt like a missed opportunity to round off the experience positively. Overall, the quality of the food more than stood out, and I would happily recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic meal. With a little refinement in the service, the dining experience could easily match the excellent work coming out of the kitchen.

5 Star Rating Top restaurant French with a touch of British. Service 10, Atmosphere 10, Food 11!. A great meal, the best we had in London during our visit, the Beef Wellington was amazing and a very generous serving. All the dishes were done perfectly exactly what you expect from this category of restaurant. And still it was 1/4 of the price of other fine dining we had. A no brainer, must come back.

4 Star Rating Food here is good but that’s about it, it’s certainly a dining experience and service is very good. The raw veg nibbles u get when you sit down are a nice touch! Not quite the place to have any meaningful conversation, music is pretty loud! But the restaurant is nice, great decor, really enjoy going to the back where they have a mini fresh food shop type thing going on! There is also a lounge for drinks!

5 Star Rating Attended the private viewing of ROSL PHOTO 23, which will be until Feb 2024. Gorgeous place, greeted with a glass of wine, and respectful staff all along. The exhibition itself is spread over 2 floors, giving justice to each piece. Some very endearing pieces and one that captivates my attention. I will be attending again. They provide a wide variety of music, art, politics, etc... The rooms were all full, but then it was nearly the end of the year, so everyone was out celebrating. Keep your eyes peeled for their events, highly recommend them. Make sure you are dressed smart casual. It saves a lot of unnecessary aggro.

4 Star Rating My partner and I came here because we were drawn by the lobster pasta. We're going through a phase at the moment and are trying multiple restaurants serving such a dish. We ordered the wagyu katsu sando. The lobster pasta and a millefeuille for dessert. The lobster pasta was exceptional. Fresh lobster tail, was tender and flavourful and accompanied very well with the lobster basque sauce of the pasta. Wasn't too salty and burst of flavour with every bite. However for £40, it was on the pricier side of dishes on the menu. The wagyu sando was quite disappointing. The beef was tough, but very well seasoned. I understand it isn't A5 Wagyu, and they use British wagyu but I at least expected to not have to tear through the meat with my canines like I were eating a rump steak. The highlight of the night was the millefeuille. Decently priced and was a massive portion compared to patisseries around London. The cream was soft and sweet. Delicate and melted in the mouth. The pastry wasn't too flaky but just the right texture. It almost had me ordering another. The service was great! The waiter didn't hesitate with any questions we had and checked up on us throughout dinner to ensure we were satisfied. Water glasses were never left empty!

3 Star Rating A Stylish Evening at Quaglino's with Room for Improvement We visited Quaglino’s yesterday to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was certainly a memorable experience. The restaurant exudes a glamorous, speakeasy vibe with its stunning decor and amazing live music that adds an exciting touch to the atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes, and the drinks menu is equally impressive, with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. We ordered steak and oysters, and the quality was exceptional – everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. It’s clear that the culinary team takes great care with their ingredients and preparation. That said, there were a few areas where the experience could have been better. The service, while polite, was quite slow – we waited an hour and a half for our food to arrive. Additionally, it seemed we always had to search for our waiter for refills or any additional requests. Unfortunately, this meant we only had one drink during our three-hour visit, which felt like a missed opportunity to enjoy more of their great cocktails. While the live music was truly fantastic and created a lively ambiance, it was so loud that having a conversation was nearly impossible. It’s a shame because the atmosphere is wonderful, but the volume made it challenging to connect with our group. Turning it down just a notch would make a world of difference. As expected for a restaurant of this calibre, the prices are on the higher side, so it’s worth being prepared for a more indulgent outing. All in all, Quaglino’s offers a beautiful venue, great food, and vibrant music, but a few tweaks to service speed and noise levels could elevate the experience to match its stunning setting. If you’re looking for a special night out, it’s worth visiting – just be ready for a longer dining experience and a lively (if loud) atmosphere!

Service was on point, although they were strict on the 2 hour time allocation per table however they did accommodate us at the bar side for drinks and entertainment after our dining slot. 4 Star Rating Restaurant Review: Quaglino’s Christmas Meal We had the pleasure of dining at Quaglino’s for our Christmas meal, and overall, it was an enjoyable experience with a few notable highlights and one slight letdown. First and foremost, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. The festive decorations were superb, adding a touch of glamour and holiday magic to the evening. The atmosphere was further enhanced by the lively entertainment—a brilliant mix of music and performances that really set the tone for a festive celebration. The food, on the whole, was very good. The vegetables were perfectly cooked—crisp, fresh, and full of flavour—and the gravy was the real star of the show, rich and deeply satisfying. However, the rib-eye steak left us a little disappointed. While it was cooked well, the portion—a single, rather thin slice—felt underwhelming, especially given the otherwise generous and high-quality offerings. Service was warm and friendly but noticeably slow at times, which detracted slightly from the experience. Nevertheless, the staff were attentive when present and accommodating of our needs. Quaglino’s is undeniably a beautiful venue with excellent entertainment, and while there was room for improvement in terms of service and portion size for the steak, the delicious food and festive atmosphere more than made up for it. It was a memorable Christmas meal overall, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return for another special occasion.

3 Star Rating Atmosphere and vibe of this place is glamorous like their dress code. The service from our waitress was excellent and she was honest about the menu when I asked questions. Never waited long for drinks, and overall I had a great night. However, when we spent £300 per person, this comes with expectations which were not met in my opinion. 1) We were reminded that our table was for 2 hours only, twice. Felt rushed to order mains, and after dessert was asked to move to the bar. 2) The entertainment was on and off, for a Friday evening 7:30 onwards, I had the expectation that it would be all night. 3) Food was okay but not special, with no 'oh wow thats delicious' moments amongst our group. Starters were good. Caviar was good, and condiments nicely prepared. Mains, Fillet steak was perfectly cooked but no flavour at all, perhaps not aged long enough or lack of seasoning. Whole Duck was seasoned nicely, but cooked so uneven, with half of 1 breast raw, the other perfect. Surely this should be sous vide to temperature then roasted for texture. Desserts were enjoyable, and well presented. Drink selection is very good, including a wide range of wines and spirits. Bar staff was also very accommodating, friendly and quick service.

5 Star Rating Had a lovely lunch here. I sort of surrendered all food and drinks decisions to my waiter, Shane, and he made some excellent choices. I historically haven't loved cottage pie, but the pulled beef rib cottage pie was something ethereal. Absolutely incredibly. Shane also recommended the sticky toffee with custard and it's delightful. I would advise coming to this place. You'll probably want to linger, it's not a place you can rush. Also, make a reservation. I didn't, so I was lucky I could get in on a Sunday. Also if you have Shane, ask for his recommendations.
