Their pre-theatre menu is amazing! Two courses for £29.99, we opted for mains and dessert.
Everything was full of flavour. The portions are on a smaller side but that’s expected. You’d need an extra side dish also.

I recently had lunch at The Ivy in London with my girlfriend, and it was a fantastic experience. I opted for the Malaysian Curry, which was really flavourful and perfectly spiced, while my girlfriend enjoyed the Tuna Steak, which was cooked to her perfection. Both meals were delicious felt of high quality. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a traditional & stylish setting that made our lunch feel special. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and we can’t wait to return!

Yet another great meal at an Ivy restaurant. Excellent food and service on the pre theatre menu. Well worth a visit. The onion soup was lovely as was the Sea Bream.

The Ivy offers an exceptional dining experience with incredibly delicious food. The menu features a selection of classic English dishes alongside numerous vegetarian options, which are available on a separate menu.
The staff are incredibly attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
The interior is very traditional and beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant.
The food is truly delectable. It is advisable to reserve a table a few days in advance to ensure availability.

Great food, friendly service. Perfectly cooked beef wellington. They decided to seat another couple extremely close to us even though the restaurant was empty at the time. We had a hard time holding a conversation without it seemingly spread to next table. At least we influenced their meal since it was so close it was basically a display for them.

100% recommend. I had a lovely night out for dinner at the Hawksmoor. From start to finish, the food and service was excellent. I had a seasonal kiwi cocktail, lobster and creamed spinach. They also serve the best sticky toffee pudding. The staff were excellent, especially Tika who attended on our table and had a very friendly and cheerful manner, ensuring that we were well taken care of. My husband and I truly enjoyed dinner at the Hawksmoor and look forward to returning again.

Food was amazing but the waiter was somehow very aggressive? I guess he wanted us to have more food. He was very adamant on how we NEEDED at least 900grams of steak and we declined at least 3 times for him to get the idea that we wouldn’t be able to finish it. My husband had to raise his voice a little as he was somehow being a bit aggressive??? Passionate??? At the weight of our steak, and he stopped. Thank goodness as the other patrons were just wonderful and the food was amazing. Great place overall. Definitely get the scallops!

We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration and overall had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a welcoming staff that gave us a good reception upon arrival. However, we noticed there was no background music, which was a bit disappointing as it could have enhanced the ambiance. The starters we ordered were amazing, setting a high expectation for the rest of the meal. For the main course, we all opted for the fillet steak. the steak itself was normal nothing’s special , I was underwhelmed by the presentation - it was served on a plain plate without any sides. Although extras were available for order, it didn't impress me as I was expecting a more complete dish. the dessert we had was really good and ended the meal on a high note. Despite the mixed experience with the food, the welcoming staff and great atmosphere make this restaurant worth a visit for a special occasion.

WOW! Absolutely loved the Hawksmoor. Everything about it was perfect.
We came in a Saturday night without a reservation. Though extremely busy they were able to fit us in at the bar area. A Perfect spot!!
The Ceasar salad was delightful as the dressing was homemade and very tasty. The scallops were DIVINE! We will be dreaming about them for awhile.
The porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection.
So glad we came here! Next time we will be sure to make a reservation.

We had never experienced a Sunday roast in England before even though we’ve traveled there many times. I did a lot of research and this restaurant did not disappoint. The cocktails and sides were extra and certainly worth it, but if you just wanted to order the roast dinner itself. It’s reasonable and absolutely delicious.

We had Octopus, Pork belly, steak, King prawn, the food was delicious and great service. The salad with the Octopus a bit salty, apart from that , everything was soo good. Small plates and good for sharing.
Aaron was very attentive.

Feel much more like a modern fusion tapas. We enjoyed the yellow fin tuna and the flat bread. Busting restaurant atmosphere, nice for a big group dinner or a cute date.

Great tapas (Italian and Spanish) evening meal here at the weekend. Lovely seating and atmosphere inside and not too busy. Staff were lovely and all the dishes we ordered were great including churros. For next time we would have liked more cheese on the large cheese/charcuterie sharing platter.

Opera Tavern is an excellent for a pre-theatre dinner. It’s directly across the road from Theatre Royal Drury Lane and close to many other theatres in the area too. Warm, helpful, and friendly service from Aaron and Richie, who guided us through the menu and provided very reasonably priced cocktails. The menu includes small plates of Spanish and Italian influence, all expertly cooked with delicious flavours. Highly recommended.

Fantastic decor with lots of atmosphere. Food : Starter disappointing (dressed Crab & Onion Soup)
Main: Cod with a mussel curried sauce was excellent & monk fish was good but slightly over cooked but still enjoyable.
We didn't have desert as we were full.
Service was good and friendly.

Lovely old school restaurent with a lot of history and character. We had the in season grouse and venison shin. The cocktails were insane: strong and flavorsome. The other dishes were great to. Staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. Steady pace to service and courses. Not rushed or slow. Great timing. We ate early, more of a late lunch at 5pm as we had a show to go to. Not sure how this would change at other times.

Fantastic place. Old London but despite the touristy edge, its actually fantastic. The steak and kidney pie was awesome ( although I’m tinged with regret at not having the grouse). Excellent cocktails, fantastic service and ambience. A must try.

This was an Old English Restaurant. Had a wonderful wait staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Not being familiar with English food, I went out of my normal. I had Potted Shrimp with toast for an appetizer, Beef and Kidney Pie as my entree, along with a Stilton and Walnut Salad. Everything was wonderful, and I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed everything. The real GEM was having a Guinness in a COLD Silver tankard. A very memorable occasion.

Dining at The Rules on Maiden Lane was an unforgettable experience. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, combining historic charm with modern sophistication. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring every detail was perfect.
The menu showcased the best of British cuisine, with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Every dish was exquisite, with the venison standing out as particularly tender, flavorful, and expertly presented. The wine list was extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering perfect pairings for each course.
The ambiance, with its beautiful decor and rich sense of history, added to the special evening. The Rules is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that truly captures the essence of London's dining scene. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier culinary adventure.

We ordered a few dishes and drinks. Apart from tacos, we were satisfied with the food and service. I guess they changed the brand of their tacos as it wasn’t very crispy as I experienced before:( For me, it’s still one of the best Mexican for restaurants in London. Hope they will consider my opinion about tacos. In the meantime, their espresso martini was so good😊
Nurcan ERDOGDU - 2 months ago
We came for an early dinner and it was already quite lively.
The drinks is very affordable- £10 for a drink. But the food is all around 20 quid. We loved the butter asparagus and guacamole. And the pull pork taco comes with a lot of side dishes.
Services has a funny vibe because they are not very energetic. Maybe it’s a Sunday night but they are still very nice and get our orders right.

Decent mexican place. I had a chicken tinga and avocado tacho. I also tried their guacamole and tortilla. Both were very good. Washed it all down with Michelada and modela especial beer. Overall I would rate this place as decent food and decent atmosphere. Worth eating.

Great place to go with friend on a night out, as the music and the vibe of the place set the mood for a fun night.
I had great expectations as I saw some good reviews and place was full when we arrived. Service is good and quick. However, I am disappointed with the menu and the food. We ordered Nachos as starter and vegetarian tacos as main with plantain as side. The nachos were tasty, a little bit salty but definitely not home made. The vegetarian options were very limited and vegan even worse. Considering the few options I at least expected them to be good, but the vegetarian tacos were simple and nothing special, the rice was surprisingly plain. I loved the plantain though.
I consider the place to be expensive considering the size and quality of the food. However we had a £20 discount with the fork that made it worthy.
To sum up, I loved the place but food was disappointing. I strongly recommend to review the vegetarian/vegan options of the menu as it can be easily improved and it would make a huge difference.

There is a really nice vibe here. the staff are friendly and happy to recommend dishes. We ordered 2 mocktails which were yummy and the vegetarian Fajitas. the fajitas were enough to share and they top up the tortilla wraps if you need more. it was nice but could have done with a little more seasoning
I wasn't a fan of the breaded jalapenos we ordered on the side

I found this place by searching for "most romantic restaurants" for celebrating our 1st anniversary with my wife. It's definitely a very romantic restaurant and I'm so glad I chose it for such a special anniversary. I had made a reservation long before and stated that I wanted to get a good table, and the table given to us was one of the best tables in the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was truly incredible, the food was of high quality and the service was impeccable. The grilled chicken was especially delicious. Our waiter (I don't know his name but he was gentleman with glasses) was very helpful and friendly. After asking for the check, we waited a bit too long for it but it wasn't a big problem. Thank you for this nice dinner 😊

I had dinner at this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and it was a very pleasant evening. The room where I ate was small but it seemed more spacious thanks to the mirrors on the walls, it also seemed very romantic with the white flowers that adorned it. I took the tasting menu and I ate well. The dishes that in my opinion were the best were the tartare and the scallops. All the dishes were well presented. It was very nice to have the chocolate dessert with the words happy birthday brought to me. The service was fast and the staff were very kind. The only negative note, in my opinion, was the presence of stains on the chairs that also appeared a little worn, perhaps the upholstery should be freshened. For the rest, everything was fine.

I recently dined here and had an amazing experience. The cozy ambiance and friendly, attentive staff made for a perfect meal thanks to Fatmir he made the visit very wonderful.

really beautiful, elegant and with a very quiet and warm atmosphere. I think what made me feel more comfortable was the girl on the staff who spoke Spanish 🥹which made me understand the dynamics of the restaurant many more, that really made a difference for me. All really friendly 🫶 delicious and different food Really all 10 of 10🥂🙌

Dining at Clos Maggiore was a truly extraordinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was phenomenal—warm, professional, and attentive. The ambience is exceptional, balancing sophistication with comfort, making it perfect for both romantic dinners and special celebrations with friends.
The appetizers were a delightful start, each dish presented beautifully and full of flavor. The wine list is extensive and well-curated, with knowledgeable staff guiding us to the perfect pairings. The main courses were spectacular, showcasing the chef’s skill and high-quality ingredients. I will say for the price, the portions were pretty small.
In summary, Clos Maggiore exceeded all expectations with outstanding service, a magnificent atmosphere, and incredible food and wine. It’s a dining destination not to be missed, and I eagerly look forward to my next visit. Highly recommended for an exceptional dining experience.

This was one of the most immaculate places I ate at in London. The food was delicious, creamy, spicy, amazing flavors.
Our waiter was amazingly attentive and friendly too, giving great recommendations a taking care of us.
The absolute highlight of the meal was the dessert. Alphonso mangos on plain vanilla ice cream. It was the most scrumptious dessert I’ve ever had. You can only get it for a limited time there in the spring, so if you are there in the spring be sure to get it.

Absolutely amazing and highly recommend it!
Don’t let the line outside the restaurant discourage you, it goes very fast anyway and waiting will be rewarded with the quality of the food.
The service is kind and available to give you suggestions on what to order, and the food is delivered fast.
Since it was my partner’s birthday they even came with a surprise desert and a candle, on the house, which was highly appreciated it!
We will absolutely come back here next time we are in London!

Everything tasted authentic and fresh. They also do an amazing job of checking allergies.
We got the chili chicken. Which tasted like it was made with natural chillis. It was a little spicy, but barely.
We also got the ruby chicken which was very good.. basically butter chicken but better.
The chefs special was amazing. It tasted like Indian Italian fusion. The sauce was a sweet tomato sauce, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this.
For dessert we got the chocolate pudding, which was alright. The ice cream that went with it, was very good. Left a little spice flavor after eating, which was very fun to experience.

Lime leaf Collins was very tasty, good flavours, but just a touch too sweet.
Black daal: Complex flavour and comforting. Quite spicy for me.
Monk fish curry: The tamarind was very prominent here. Lots of strong flavourful spices.
My wait as a single diner was 1 hour from lining up at 5pm Friday. Not the best meal I've had in London but it's up there.

Super cool place to go with a bunch of people to drink, eat , watch sports on the large screens , listen to live bands(when available ) and have loads of fun.
The atmosphere is very Irish ☘️ Steampunk with multi-levels filled with couches, sitting areas, dark intimate corners and long wide tables for loud/merry groups.
They also have a beautiful energetic patio.
The food is good and the drinks are great!
I personally enjoy their fish & chips.(my opinion)
The staff is really nice, welcoming and friendly which elevates the experience for the customers.
The location is also perfect, right in the heart of Covent Gardens area and close to all the theaters venues.
GOOD JOB !! 👏🏻

We wanted to go to a pub with some history and this was where Elizabeth Taylor’s & Richard Burton got married.. She was the biggest & most famous actress in the works when this happened so I guess it is worth my time to find out why.. amazing & beautiful architecture.. the steak pie was awesome but the Sunday roast was a disappointment.. meat was tough & very few.. the Wellington was really bad.. but the pie save the day.. pints was all delicious!

A perfect English Pub. We were originally going to go to a pub across the street but because the game was on we couldn’t get in to sit down either inside or out. So we walked across the street and gave this place a shot. Happy we did. The food was great and the beer was cold! The atmosphere was perfect. Everyone was having a great time with friends. The pub is decorated beautifully and has the eclectic British charm. Oh and my 18 year old son had his first “legal” drink at a bar so, that was a fun experience. 😜

This was an odd place. They offer table service but it was sporadic at best. After food was served never saw the server again. Had to go to bar to pay. Maybe that was the way it's done. Again, odd. Beer options were limited. The food was good. No complains there.
