What a fabulous restaurant to dine. Attentive service, beautiful Art Deco decor and delicious meals were had by all of our party of 5.
The kitchen were able to cater for my allergies no problem. (I had the Sea Bass which tasted delicious).
Will return!

Their pre-theatre menu is amazing! Two courses for £29.99, we opted for mains and dessert.
Everything was full of flavour. The portions are on a smaller side but that’s expected. You’d need an extra side dish also.

I recently had lunch at The Ivy in London with my girlfriend, and it was a fantastic experience. I opted for the Malaysian Curry, which was really flavourful and perfectly spiced, while my girlfriend enjoyed the Tuna Steak, which was cooked to her perfection. Both meals were delicious felt of high quality. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a traditional & stylish setting that made our lunch feel special. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and we can’t wait to return!

Great food, friendly service. Perfectly cooked beef wellington. They decided to seat another couple extremely close to us even though the restaurant was empty at the time. We had a hard time holding a conversation without it seemingly spread to next table. At least we influenced their meal since it was so close it was basically a display for them.

The Ivy offers an exceptional dining experience with incredibly delicious food. The menu features a selection of classic English dishes alongside numerous vegetarian options, which are available on a separate menu.
The staff are incredibly attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
The interior is very traditional and beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant.
The food is truly delectable. It is advisable to reserve a table a few days in advance to ensure availability.

Came on a reservation on a weeknight and it was good I did. The place was full. I got led into the table right in the middle of the main room, which didn't look bad for being underground but the room was very noisy (room also didn't have anything to dampen noise). My friend checked and it was at 85-90db for the whole time. I feel bad for the waiters who are likely to get hearing problems from working in such a loud place.
I personally quite liked the rib eye which was not tough at all though my companion more used to steak found it mid. I was not a big fan of the bone marrow sauce but casually liked maple bacon. Fries were decent but nothing special (though ordered separately).
I didn't care much to drink alcohol on the day (particularly supermarket bottles of beer) though I couldn't find a soft drinks menu so ended up having a glass of wine. This probably contributed to the bill totalling 200 GBP for a good food and a bit of drink for two though in a loud and busy atmosphere. I probably won't be back but it's not a bad place.

100% recommend. I had a lovely night out for dinner at the Hawksmoor. From start to finish, the food and service was excellent. I had a seasonal kiwi cocktail, lobster and creamed spinach. They also serve the best sticky toffee pudding. The staff were excellent, especially Tika who attended on our table and had a very friendly and cheerful manner, ensuring that we were well taken care of. My husband and I truly enjoyed dinner at the Hawksmoor and look forward to returning again.

We had never experienced a Sunday roast in England before even though we’ve traveled there many times. I did a lot of research and this restaurant did not disappoint. The cocktails and sides were extra and certainly worth it, but if you just wanted to order the roast dinner itself. It’s reasonable and absolutely delicious.

Best beef Sunday dinner ever!! Amazing first time ever at Hawksmoor!! Been wanting to have a Sunday dinner at any of the venues for ages and finally got to do it yesterday and it did not disappoint. From walking through the huge doors and being greeted by the friendly front of house staff we were seated promptly and had water served and drinks orders taken within 5mins. The staff are incredible and extremely attentive without being over bearing. All had great conversation and humour, must have been served by at least 5 different members over the 2hrs.
Super causal vibe but nothing casual about the food! The rump was to die for, cooked to perfection and tasted sensational. Roasted garlic, sweet carrots, greens and roast potatoes made it a hell of a plate with the giant Yorkshire. Gravy was as good as mums and again next level
Finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was insane
All in all a thoroughly amazing experience. The benchmark for how all eating out should be
Bravo

Food was amazing but the waiter was somehow very aggressive? I guess he wanted us to have more food. He was very adamant on how we NEEDED at least 900grams of steak and we declined at least 3 times for him to get the idea that we wouldn’t be able to finish it. My husband had to raise his voice a little as he was somehow being a bit aggressive??? Passionate??? At the weight of our steak, and he stopped. Thank goodness as the other patrons were just wonderful and the food was amazing. Great place overall. Definitely get the scallops!

Had a really good night for my birthday, amazing service via Alejandro as we sat on the bar. He recommended his favourites and so we took the pork belly. Leah also made sure we had everything on point. She is was lovely.
Pork belly was devine & works perfectly if you have a sweet tooth while the cod was tender & completed nicely by the mushroom
Will return for sure

We had Octopus, Pork belly, steak, King prawn, the food was delicious and great service. The salad with the Octopus a bit salty, apart from that , everything was soo good. Small plates and good for sharing.
Aaron was very attentive.

Amazing food and amazing service from Alejandro, Leah and Richie on the bar. Quite blown away from the quality, the flavour and the presentation of everything. If you’re looking for something new and refreshing this is a must try. I highly suggest the pork belly and the pan fried cod which we tried they are truly to die for!

I've had a really nice dining experience here with myself and 3 family members.
The place is quite small, but the interior is really nice, and quite moody in the evening.
Their wine selections are really plentiful, I had their medium body red wines.
Food selection was incredible, my favourites were definitely the Garlic Prawns, and also the Iberico Presa which were cooked amazingly! I'd recommend getting bread with the Garlic Prawns to dip into the sauce.

Rules, the oldest restaurant in London, nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, provides a quintessentially British dining experience. Stepping inside feels like entering a piece of history, with its unique decor that celebrates British heritage—playful touches include portraits of crowned heads, detailed hunting scenes, and classic antique paintings. The comfortable banquettes enhance the cozy, inviting atmosphere, making it easy to settle in for an enjoyable meal.
The menu offers a variety of traditional British dishes, all perfectly executed with an authentic touch that’s hard to find elsewhere. Their wine selection, though concise, is thoughtfully curated and pairs beautifully with the cuisine. The service is exceptional, with staff that are not only attentive but add a personal touch, making each visit feel special.
We return every year, and each time, Rules consistently provides a memorable experience. It’s truly a pleasure to revisit such a timeless establishment.

Coming across Rules by chance, we were attracted by its claim to be “the oldest restaurant in London”. Whether or not that is true, it is certainly has an unusual décor related in part at least to the nearby theatrical establishments.
Although the steak and kidney offerings did call, I opted for pheasant which was perfectly cooked while my companion had the duck (or Mallard!). Along with our cocktails, they proved a perfect combination. She started with the onion and cider soup which was much enjoyed. I omitted the starter so I had room for the apple crumble, a substantial and flavoursome offering; I would have liked more custard though.
The service was prompt and friendly, the atmosphere restrained but pleasant and overall, as I would expect at these prices (but all too often do not get), the meal was a pleasure.

Fantastic decor with lots of atmosphere. Food : Starter disappointing (dressed Crab & Onion Soup)
Main: Cod with a mussel curried sauce was excellent & monk fish was good but slightly over cooked but still enjoyable.
We didn't have desert as we were full.
Service was good and friendly.

Dining at The Rules on Maiden Lane was an unforgettable experience. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, combining historic charm with modern sophistication. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring every detail was perfect.
The menu showcased the best of British cuisine, with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Every dish was exquisite, with the venison standing out as particularly tender, flavorful, and expertly presented. The wine list was extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering perfect pairings for each course.
The ambiance, with its beautiful decor and rich sense of history, added to the special evening. The Rules is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that truly captures the essence of London's dining scene. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier culinary adventure.

Lovely old school restaurent with a lot of history and character. We had the in season grouse and venison shin. The cocktails were insane: strong and flavorsome. The other dishes were great to. Staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. Steady pace to service and courses. Not rushed or slow. Great timing. We ate early, more of a late lunch at 5pm as we had a show to go to. Not sure how this would change at other times.

We ordered a few dishes and drinks. Apart from tacos, we were satisfied with the food and service. I guess they changed the brand of their tacos as it wasn’t very crispy as I experienced before:( For me, it’s still one of the best Mexican for restaurants in London. Hope they will consider my opinion about tacos. In the meantime, their espresso martini was so good😊

Nice tapas restaurant in London, great Mexican food and Latino music, must try their signature tequila based cocktails and their award winning margaritas ranked best in London. Must try their burritos & tacos as well.

There is a really nice vibe here. the staff are friendly and happy to recommend dishes. We ordered 2 mocktails which were yummy and the vegetarian Fajitas. the fajitas were enough to share and they top up the tortilla wraps if you need more. it was nice but could have done with a little more seasoning
I wasn't a fan of the breaded jalapenos we ordered on the side

Lively atmosphere, in a quirky and hip Authentic Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant is incredibly popular so you will need to book in advance. I wasn't a fan of the mixed taco street food dishes but definitely recommend the Empanadas and Taco Al Pastor which were amazing! The drinks selection was great and would definitely recommend one of the Authentic Mexican drinks.

Decent mexican place. I had a chicken tinga and avocado tacho. I also tried their guacamole and tortilla. Both were very good. Washed it all down with Michelada and modela especial beer. Overall I would rate this place as decent food and decent atmosphere. Worth eating.

I found this place by searching for "most romantic restaurants" for celebrating our 1st anniversary with my wife. It's definitely a very romantic restaurant and I'm so glad I chose it for such a special anniversary. I had made a reservation long before and stated that I wanted to get a good table, and the table given to us was one of the best tables in the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was truly incredible, the food was of high quality and the service was impeccable. The grilled chicken was especially delicious. Our waiter (I don't know his name but he was gentleman with glasses) was very helpful and friendly. After asking for the check, we waited a bit too long for it but it wasn't a big problem. Thank you for this nice dinner 😊

Beautiful ambience and very intimate. Food was great quality and so was service. The starter options was limited and underwhelming but the mains and dessert compensated for this. I would recommend this to family and friends and I will most certainly visit again!

I had dinner at this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and it was a very pleasant evening. The room where I ate was small but it seemed more spacious thanks to the mirrors on the walls, it also seemed very romantic with the white flowers that adorned it. I took the tasting menu and I ate well. The dishes that in my opinion were the best were the tartare and the scallops. All the dishes were well presented. It was very nice to have the chocolate dessert with the words happy birthday brought to me. The service was fast and the staff were very kind. The only negative note, in my opinion, was the presence of stains on the chairs that also appeared a little worn, perhaps the upholstery should be freshened. For the rest, everything was fine.

This is my dream restaurant. It was my daughter’s treat, together with theater tickets, for the whole family. The decor is beautiful, very romantic. Our party of 6 was shown to a corner table in the flower room, menus were presented and drinks offered. Everyone chose the pre-theater 3 course menu, that included a glass of bubbly. Fresh butter and baskets of bread were brought immediately and refilled as needed. The menu was explained by the very knowledgeable staff and later the dishes presented with a classy flair. Everything we chose was done to perfection and absolutely delicious. Yes, we will absolutely return. Oh, and the restrooms are beautiful as well.

Excellent service, excellent food. Very friendly staff. They are extremely busy but very efficient at the same time. Even though there is a long wait. It usually takes around 30min in a busy day to be seated. Curries are delicious. I believe it is the best Indian spot in London. It is worth every penny. I highly recommend this place

I recently visited this fantastic restaurant in London, and it exceeded all my expectations. The customer service was outstanding; our server was not only knowledgeable but also went above and beyond to help me choose gluten-free dishes with a touch of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. And the food—truly incredible! Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented; it’s honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back. Absolutely amazing and highly recommend it!
Don’t let the line outside the restaurant discourage you, it goes very fast anyway and waiting will be rewarded with the quality of the food.
The service is kind and available to give you suggestions on what to order, and the food is delivered fast.
Since it was my partner’s birthday they even came with a surprise desert and a candle, on the house, which was highly appreciated it!
We will absolutely come back here next time we are in London!

Managed to avoid the lunch crowd by arriving at around 12pm (there was a long queue by the time we finished).
Lively ambience, great food and good service. The dishes were so flavourful and easy to share. While I did enjoy everything, the various curries were undoubtedly just a pinch better than the rest.

Super cool place to go with a bunch of people to drink, eat , watch sports on the large screens , listen to live bands(when available ) and have loads of fun.
The atmosphere is very Irish ☘️ Steampunk with multi-levels filled with couches, sitting areas, dark intimate corners and long wide tables for loud/merry groups.
They also have a beautiful energetic patio.
The food is good and the drinks are great!
I personally enjoy their fish & chips.(my opinion)
The staff is really nice, welcoming and friendly which elevates the experience for the customers.
The location is also perfect, right in the heart of Covent Gardens area and close to all the theaters venues.

We wanted to go to a pub with some history and this was where Elizabeth Taylor’s & Richard Burton got married.. She was the biggest & most famous actress in the works when this happened so I guess it is worth my time to find out why.. amazing & beautiful architecture.. the steak pie was awesome but the Sunday roast was a disappointment.. meat was tough & very few.. the Wellington was really bad.. but the pie save the day.. pints was all delicious!

Disappointing visit. The food took a long time to come out, and my wife had to leave to an appointment. The bartender went and found some good to go containers - THANK YOU, but no plasticware to go. The chicken sandwich lacked chicken, but the bread was good. Side orders of fries and mac and cheese were ok. Beer was cold. Seats were uncomfortable. Would not return.

A perfect English Pub. We were originally going to go to a pub across the street but because the game was on we couldn’t get in to sit down either inside or out. So we walked across the street and gave this place a shot. Happy we did. The food was great and the beer was cold! The atmosphere was perfect. Everyone was having a great time with friends. The pub is decorated beautifully and has the eclectic British charm. Oh and my 18 year old son had his first “legal” drink at a bar so, that was a fun experience. 😜

I booked a table for six people to eat and drink from 6:15 pm on that Saturday. I brought my two nieces and their boyfriends and then me and my partner and my dog table was reserved. It looked a bit small initially but we all squeezed in fine. Food was very nice. Service was lovely. Atmosphere was buzzing and when we asked to turn the music down a little bit because we couldn’t hear each other speak they turned it down so that was nice. Some life music on the other side of where we were sitting for, I think it was some anniversary celebration of the pub which was lovely too so I have no complaints .
