An Unforgettable Stay!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Charing Cross, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service.
The rooms were absolutely spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with every modern comfort you could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the high-quality toiletries and complimentary snacks.
The amenities were outstanding. The pool was pristine, the spa services were world-class, and the fitness center was well-equipped. The on-site restaurant was a highlight, offering a diverse menu with dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a feast, with fresh and varied options to suit every palate.
What truly stood out was the staff. Everyone I encountered went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. They were attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about making guests feel at home.
The location was ideal, close to all the key attractions yet peaceful enough to feel like a true escape.
I can’t recommend Charing cross highly enough. It was a flawless experience from start to finish, and I can’t wait to return! Thank you for making my stay so memorable.

I really enjoyed my stay there, I would definitely come back. The grand, well looked after entrance and hallway set the tone for the rest of the stay. My room was clean,
quiet and comfortable. The bar had a cool ‚secret cocktail bar’ ambience. And the restaurant was exceptional! I had a three course meal and everything was so fresh, perfectly cooked and super tasty. In addition, every staff member I interacted with was friendly and happy to help. What a great hotel.

Our second perfect experience. Was a 7-year gap between stays and the hotel has been so well maintained - fresh paint, impeccably clean public spaces and hotel rooms. And the breakfast is perfection! Dinner was excellent too. In short, we love this hotel! It’s central to many sights and all transport - and all the staff are lovely! Will be back!

Excellent location.
It is at walking distance to many places. However the room needs some maintenance. The shower temperature changes after set which is very inconvenient. It gets too hot and mildly warm in the same setting. The USB charging didn't work on one side of the bed.

My stay at The Clermont London, Charing Cross was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was enveloped in a sense of elegance and warmth. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring every detail of my stay was perfect.
The location is unbeatable—situated right in the heart of London, steps away from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, yet offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. It made exploring the city effortless, with so many attractions just a short walk away.
My room was beautifully appointed, blending classic design with modern touches. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, and the thoughtful extras—like premium toiletries, plush robes, and a well-stocked minibar—made me feel truly pampered. The view from the room was an added delight, showcasing the vibrancy of London.
The hotel’s breakfast was a highlight of my mornings, with a wide selection of fresh and delicious options. The restaurant and bar also offered fantastic dining experiences, with impeccable service and a menu that catered to a variety of tastes.
One of the standout aspects was the little touches that made the stay exceptional, from the friendly concierge who provided excellent recommendations to the seamless check-in and check-out process.
The Clermont London, Charing Cross, combines timeless charm with modern luxury in a way that few hotels can. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ll undoubtedly be returning on my next trip to London!

We loved it at Boyd’s!! Had a pre-theatre dinner and bottle of wine. It’s so nice and quiet / spacious in the restaurant, the server was really attentive and friendly, the food was amazing!! (Had a salmon trio, sausage and mash and the cheesecake). All so delicious and homey/very filling. Would highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the meal here in a comfortable and contemporary yet still period feeling venue. Cocktails were great but a slightly limited selection. The food had great portions and was perfect in every way and the waiter was friendly and offered great menu advice.

Nice spot for dinner. Beautiful atmosphere and great food menu. Cocktail program leaves a lot be desired with a small menu and underwhelming drinks.

Nice pub at a nice location. The food and the house beer need some improvement though.
I ordered nachos but it wasn’t close to being a proper nachos plate. There was no guacamole, instead it was big chunks of avocado. Salsa tasted wrong. Cheese wasn’t enough. The spicy flavour was from chips itself not the pepper - there was no pepper.
Smashed potatoes could be better with a different presentation.
Fries were ok.
BLT was ok, nothing special though. That applies to the house beer as well.
The atmosphere is good. It makes you thirsty :)
The staff is friendly but for some reason some seemed in between rush and panic. I have also seen an apparently senior server roasting another server quietly but in the middle of the tables. This was not nice.
They show PL games and F1 races which is great.
Thanks!

Great stop after a log day of sightseeing. The steak and Ale pie and fish n chips were great. You order drinks at the bar, and there was a good selection. The pub was full of football fans watching the World Cup games. Typical festive pub atmosphere. It was a bit of a wait for the food, but they were very busy.

I visited the restaurant and had a very pleasant meal. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful organising gluten free bread for my meal. The chef cooked the food to perfection, there was simply everything to like. Highly recommended

Stayed at the hotel during the NYE period and have everything good to say about it. Joao and Olivia were extremely helpful to ensure our room was as per what we booked, and gave us tips on how to avoid the crowd during the NYE countdown. They were extremely helpful, and were willing to go out of the way at all times to ensure our stay was pleasant. Would definitely come back. Thank you for making our stay amazing! Keep the good job up!

We were very happy with our stay at the Thistle. We arrived early before check-in, hoping to leave a bag while we went out to explore, but were told our room was all ready and we could get in early, which was a lovely surprise. The room it self was comfortable and clean. The location was an easy walk to many of the areas we planned on visiting (West End, Chinatown, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, St. James Park, Soho, etc.)
The room was fairly quiet at night, considering we were only a few blocks from a busy area. As an added bonus, the room came with water bottles, coffee, tea and biscuits that were refreshed daily. I would definitely recommend the Thistle in Trafalgar Square.

We stayed here for our family vacation to London. This is a great location, and within mins of everything. Very convenient walking distance to major entertainment and food options. The staff here are amazing and helpful. The place is very clean and our entire room was full windows and views! Now, the only issue I had was the bathroom. Fixtures were loose, I needed to tighten the shower head myself. Some of the tiles were cracked, the toilet seat was loose, and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. The worst part was that shower controls were very loose and hard to get a temperature every use. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable, we had a lot of closet space and a mini fridge in our room. Across the street, there are amazing options for a quick breakfast, too. And one block up, you will find many options for dining and entertainment.

Hotel is fine- room was clean ish and bed very comfy and very big. Location is everything and the reason for the price tag- far from luxury- and the walls are pretty thin- you can hear people talking straight through the walls.

This is a busy pub close to Trafalgar Square. I was here at 4.30pm on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was good. I had a double Craggenmore at £9.40, taking advantage of the double up for £3 offer (a single is £6.40). This is a very popular pub with tourist giving it a very cosmopolitan atmosphere. During the day a large part of the pub is brightly lit due to the large windows on two sides. At night it has a more intimate feel. I was here on a cold day and the pub was quite chilly, due mainly to the fact that the main doors were open. Despite the cold there was a lot of people drinking outside. They do serve food and have a large upstairs dining room. There is also a small museum dedicated to Sherlock Holmes. The service was okay. In summary, an OK pub in a great location.

I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful and educational place while I was in London on a layover. The waitress was very kind, the food was delicious, and the drinks were refreshing. I was able to sit upstairs by the Sherlock Holmes room which I thought was absolutely amazing. I truly enjoyed myself however, I hope next time they'll have some souvenirs available.

Charming pub with a story to tell. I always love it when there’s a theme.
The memorabilia inside the exhibition room are incredible. I can understand why this place attracts many tourists.
Quality food and pints make of this a lovely place to grab a bite while out and about.

The ship & Shovel is a must.
Present on a Friday evening at 7:00pm.
There is not a singular structure housing the pub. You shall see when you get here but both sides are a vibe, you just have to dive in and select your destination. The right or the left, are you feeling like the right piece of grilled cheese or the left piece? Divided down the middle by the bar buddies congregating in the Craven Passage, here you will find a delicious lager: the Ship & Shovel: hells lager. After drinking a Crisp, clean, light-bodied, hint of lemony lager you become immersed in the British pub culture surrounded by accents, beer and friendly banter. Highly recommend, cheers to your first pint!

A lovely traditional pub, uniquely split (linked underground), either side of a quiet passage near Charring Cross. Part of the Hall & Woodhouse chain; the Badger Beers are a refreshing change from Greene King and Fuller’s pubs nearby.
The outdoor space is perfect for fair weather drinking. Staff were friendly and the food looked decent. Well worth seeking out!
David Simkins - 5 months ago
This is a small, quaint pub, it only has seating for around 24 people. It has a lot of wood panelling and a dark, tile red ceiling that gives it a cosy feel. The barman was excellent and I opted for a Badgers Fursty Ferret ale at £6.30. They had three cask beers and their selection of spirits was very limited, due to the small bar area. The toilets are in the basement and are accessed by a steep staircase (beware the low ceiling halfway down the stairs). This pub is rather unique, it certainly has to be one of the smallest in central London. For that reason alone it is worth a visit.

It is the only pub divided into two parts on either side of the street. And I think that's what makes this place such a cool atmosphere. A very nice and quiet traditional London pub with good food and a selection of beer.

This is a very popular pub with real ale drinkers, evidenced by the 10 cask beers and the hundreds of beer mats above the bar. It is a narrow pub with additional seating upstairs. Being near to both Covent Garden and Soho it is ideally located. I was here at 4pm on a Monday afternoon and it was quite busy. There is a designated standing area out back but many drinkers preferred to drink in the street out front. The toilets are upstairs and accessed by a steep, narrow staircase that could prove problematic for the less mobile.

Fabulous pub with a marvellous range of well kept cask beer. Had the Marble Stout myself. Busy every time I've been in here regardless of the time of day. A central London institution. No children allowed. Additional seating upstairs if it is rammed downstairs.

Exceptional food complimented with exceptional service. We dined on the first day of their new set menu for the festive period, which contained a great selection to choose from for each course. Situated in the luxurious Corinthia Hotel in Westminster, this place did not disappoint from the moment we walked in. The decor, lighting, table setting and general ambience especially after dark spells class. Service was fantastic and their seasonal menu was good too. If you are in the mood, head over to the bar next to the restaurant for great live band and cocktails to end the evening.

Dinner here a number times previously. This time it was election night.
Had cocktails in adjacent bar prior to dinner, table for three. Had the dinner three course- great value.
Cocktails are very good - standard London hotel price of £20.
Dinner was well priced:2 courses for £39 and three for £45.
Food was generally above average to good.
The green pea volute was very nice as was the lamb cutlet albeit the portion for the lamb was tiny.
Desert of strawberry and lemon Millefeuille was good too- beautifully presented.
Service was very good .
All in all a very pleasant night with good option for food and great cocktails.

A quiet Wednesday evening for them.
Excellent from Start to finish.
We had an amazing sommelier called Selina who was engaging and wonderful to talk to about her knowledge of wine.
The ceviche starter was good as was the chicken mains .both presented beautifully.
Desert of gateau was also very good.
Had the most amazing wines- the amarone and the pipparello.
Will be back next month when the set dinner menu changes.

Had a good time there today considering i went without a reservation on a Sunday at 7 pm. The host was lovely and our server was a polite blonde boy who I believe was named either San or Sam, he was great but clearly very stressed out and needed a break but he was busy with the other tables as the restaurant was full. The food didn't take long to come out, we got the margarita pizza, mac & cheese and crispy potatoes. The potatoes were cold but they replaced them for us as soon as we asked but everything else was great! The pizza and mac & cheese were hot and delicious and the potatoes came with a delightful marinara sauce. The atmosphere of the place was amazing and the staff were all helping each other out which was very nice. I just wished we went in on a less busy day because i know the service would've even better then, if you're in London i'd recommend a visit to it. As for the prices, i included a photo of the check.

Recently I enjoyed some delicious pizza and bruschetta, and I must say, both were outstanding! The pizza was perfectly baked, featuring a wonderfully crispy crust topped with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor in every bite. The presentation was stunning, with vibrant colors that made it almost too beautiful to eat!
The bruschetta was equally impressive, with toasted bread generously topped with a savory mix of ripe tomatoes, aromatic basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It was a delightful appetizer that set the tone for a fantastic meal. Overall, both dishes were a feast for the senses, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious dining experience!

You always know what you're going to get with pizza express. The pizzas were tasty and the dough balls were delicious. Great location and nice big, spaced out restaurant. I've taken a star off because the service was very slow, even though there weren't that busy. Our dough balls were also Luke warm by the time they arrived.
