Frederick’s is such a lovely spot near Angel’s antique market. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with lots of greenery and a relaxed vibe. We tried the Angus beef tartare, which was super fresh, and the chargrilled lamb neck, which was so tender and full of flavor. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was friendly, and the cocktails were great too. It’s a perfect place for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. Definitely coming back!

We headed to Frederick’s for a dinner with friends after seeing all the rave reviews, and it did not disappoint!
Conveniently located near Angel station, it’s super easy to get to. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the standout for us was definitely the Welsh lamb chops—so tender and packed with flavor. The fresh and crisp vegetable salad was also a hit.
The ambiance was cozy, and the service was top-notch. I can’t recommend this gem of a restaurant enough to anyone in London!

For our anniversary dinner, we went to Frederick’s near Angel on a friend’s recommendation, and it was such a great choice!
The sign at the entrance said ‘family-run since 1969,’ so you know this place has some history. The vibe inside is amazing, almost like walking through an art gallery. There’s even a big garden in the back, and with the romantic lighting at night, it’s the perfect date spot.
I loved the Salt & Pepper Squid starter, especially with the sweet chili sauce—it was so good! The Chargrilled Veal Rump was super tender and packed with flavor too. And the service? So attentive and thoughtful.
All in all, it was the perfect dinner at Frederick’s, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Very nice European style restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. Salmon has some Asian flavors. Highly recommend the lamb ribs, which are pretty much the best I've ever had here.

Frederick’s is the perfect spot for a date night. The decor is elegant, and the vibe is warm and intimate. We had the scallops to start—beautifully cooked. The chateaubriand was my favorite, and it was very perfectly done. The sweet potato fondant as a side was a great addition. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

I was there during Monday afternoon, so fairly quiet. They have an amazing roof top garden. Staff were very friendly. I bet this is a great pub in the evening. I left still early evening. Loads of tables had reserved signs for later on. So I think the atmosphere must be good. So my lower score for atmosphere I’m sure would change in the evening.

Lovely pub, for a drink but this time we ate and the food was outstanding. We went for Sunday lunch and between three us us managed to try the beef, chicken and pork. All the meats were very nicely cooked, and a generous portion (especially the beef) and came with amazing Yorkshire puddings and lots of veg. Extra gravy and puddings available on request and included in the price I think! Brilliant.

had vegetable burger for the first time.. location of the restaurant is just about 6 minutes away from the nearest hotel (Hilton Kensington).
food was 3/5
service 2/5 food came so late, more than 30 minutes (pre ordered the food)

Enjoyed traditional fish and chips, mac and cheese, sliders, and the most delicious hummus! Atmosphere is excellent and the rooftop is the perfect spot to relax and have a drink. Sophie was so friendly! Many Thanks!

Fab. Great vibes but perfectly chill for a Thursday evening. Great, elevated pub food. Quite affordable. But what really sets this place apart are the staff. Uncharacteristically kind, friendly & efficient for a London pub. Thank you Rhys for constantly letting me borrow your lighter!

I recently visited Chillango Islington, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The menu offers a fantastic variety of options, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that made the experience even more enjoyable. The interior is modern yet cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends or enjoy a casual meal. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely dining experience. Highly recommend to anyone in the area – I’ll definitely be back soon!

I was tempted to give the food a 4 because of the limited vegan options. But that wouldn’t be fair as it’s not a vegan restaurant and there are sufficient options. Besides the taste and quality is excellent as well as super filling.
This was my first time and the staff were great at explaining the process and options. It is fun and reassuring to watch them prepare your meal and be asked what you want included; an anxious vegans’ dream.
The decor is super colourful and fun. My only critique of the atmosphere was the music was really loud; which was a little much during the day while the restaurant wasn’t full. Great Latin vibe though.
A fantastic experience and I will come again.

Found this place by mistake. Great interior design, the staff was friendly. Nice burritos, tried the chilango and steak burritos. We got fries with sauce and it was fresh.
Spacious seating areas are available. The restrooms are in the basement and it was clean.

Despite being a proud Mexican eatery no one speaks Spanish. I ordered the vegetarian burrito. They only had few scraps of the vegetables. The girl said she would give me extra guacamole to compensate. The burrito ended up being really full. I suspected it was going to be a nightmare to eat it as it was, also given the fact that they only wanted to give me, initially, a small napkin. So I asked the girl if she could cut the burrito in half. She said they're not allowed because of "cross contamination". I didn't understand the relationship between my question and her answer... I said: "you can use a clean knife and there won't be any cross contamination". Still she said they're not allowed. It was a very frustrating first experience at this restaurant. The reguetón music doesn't help either.
The positives: the girl was very friendly and despite everything she tried to help. The burrito was really good, big and cheap. Nice decoration.

SASA Sushi is a must visit in Angel, a family run business with the most delicious sushi I have ever tried. So great for sharing, incredible staff and service. We felt so welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our experience!!!
The must try is the Volcano, Spider, and the Tuna sushi roll!
Sian Legg - 3 weeks ago
This place could be 10x better if they made some minor tweaks. The music was blasting TikTok style music which isn’t what you want to hear in a sushi restaurant. Advice to owners pick a better music level and playlist that fits the vibe of a sushi restaurant. The lighting was too bright if it was slightly dimmer it would feel cosier and more intimate. For an evening meal it should have better mood light or else it gives off the vibe this is a quick lunch spot.
Food was good and the service was lovely. Staff are very friendly and knowledgable. We had a nice time but would’ve been so much better if music and lighting was better🤍

Had a delicious salmon rice bowl here today! The lunchtime menu had a great selection. I have visited in the evening previously too, and had an amazing meal. The food here is really top notch. Can't recommend SASA enough.

Visited this lovely restaurant on a Saturday where we reserved a table for 5.30pm. They said we could only have the table for 1.5 hours which is a standard time for eating.
We ordered the following:
1. Uncle’s gyozas (Pork)
2. Nori Tori Karaage
3. Salmon Sashimi (4 pieces)
4. Tuna Sashimi (4 pieces)
5. Wagyu Jalapeño sushi rolls (6 rolls)
6. Volcano sushi rolls (8 rolls) - Salmon, Prawn, Avocado and cucumber)
7. 3 bottles of Asahi beers
The gyozas were cooked to perfection. The Karaage was served differently to how I usually have Karaage but the presentation was great. It was only served with a slice of lemon where usually there would be a side sauce. However the Karaage had the right amount of flavour so we did not need the sauce.
The sushi rolls were delicious! The jalapeños were not that spicy as we thought. All the flavours really went well together!
The staff were very attentive, warm and welcoming. The price seems about right based on the quality of food and the location.
Tasty food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We would definitely come back again! Thank you SaSa for a great experience 🤤

As soon as we entered SA SA, we felt welcome and comfortable. We didn’t feel rushed ordering our food and the restaurant was aesthetic and clean. The staff were lovely and the food beat expectations. I have never had sushi so good up until today. If you’re looking for a sushi spot with a chill vibe and that beats expectations, this is the spot.

The service was excellent. The person that met us was warm and welcoming and our server, Nair, was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, although with a little less rice and a little more sauce our main course would have been perfect. The prawn crackers were the best we’d ever eaten and the pandan pancake filled with coconut was scrumptious. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back.

I enjoy coming here for lunch as they have a great lunch deal for £9.95 which includes a main and a drink (£4 extra for a side). This is incredible value for the portion size and the quality of the dishes. The pad Thai and spring rolls are delicious!

I ordered through the Too Good To Go platform and, theoretically, this bowl is supposed to be worth £13, the food doesn't even fill half the bowl. I don't know about others, but I wouldn't pay that price for what was essentially 90% rice and beans with sauce. This is what they consider a “£13 vegetarian option”

Niki, the staff here is excellent at her job, she gave generous portions and paid attention to detail like offering me a tray and cutlery without me asking .

Always love a tortilla burrito, the beef is delicious and worth the extra £. Went after seeing their £2.50 happy hour 5-8pm every day (I think just for summer tho). Generous frozen marg, delicious burrito. Service was average, the woman/manager who served us was clearly hating life. Felt sorry for the trainee girl with her (who made us 2 great burritos with supervision!) as didn’t seem like a particularly positive working environment, but who knows. FYI the happy hour is only when you buy food with it. And sign up to their newsletter for a free burrito on your birthday!

I had ordered a naked burritos and it was really good…i had noticed one employee in there, i think his name was abdul, he provided me a superb service in there and also guide me everything in for payment process
I am so excited to go there again and also the atmosphere was really fantastic.

Update: been a regular customer at this store for almost a year. Never felt disappointed. The drinks have been consistent and the services are excellent. All the staff have been providing 6 stars services and complying to Starbuck’s standards. They are so attentive that they remember what is my latest order. So impressive 😍
Also, I have seen them so many times doing excellent and attentive services to every of their customers and they treat all the customers equally.
They even ask how much milk the customers want in their teas, americano. Furthermore, when it was just a little splash of lemonade short, they walked to grab a new carton, so all the drinks are consistent and right to the recipe and standard.
Perfect drinks, good customer services. All the staff here have expertise in making good coffee and meticulously make coffee tailored to my preference. Also, they are more than willing to listen to your request and have a great common sense and problem solving skills. The manager is humble and has a fantastic service mind. Once he asked me how my drink was, I felt like this store was specialty coffee shop. Never disappointed with their services

Really huge shout out for team which is amazing , served me a nice drinks and food. Whereas, Another great place of coffee spot! Menu keeps evolving to meet every budget and the range of products means there is something for everyone at any time of day!
I personally love the great value drinks (gives pricier merchants a run for their money any time!) and sandwiches , which I somehow manage to add to all my orders!
The points scheme is also fabulous and those points quickly add up to genuine freebies from the menu - but please add the option to buy a larger or sandwich with points 🙏

I love Starbucks coconut matcha latte. I ordered a plain croissant and was fresh and soft. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was quiet. It was nice to study, read, and online work. I really recommend Sturback on Angel Station.

I went here a few times and it always plays Taylor Swift 24/7. Please help. I love the environment in there, perfect for studying etc but come on TS all day? I get sick of it tbh. Was a swiftie back in the day but even this is unbearable. I cannot imagine working there. Other than that it has a great environment, very close to train station etc. But come on Starbucks, you can add a variety of songs on your playlist?

I like this ‘tardis’ Starbucks, it’s one of my local Starbucks. It has a stimulating atmosphere and upstairs there are a lot of seats and space and people sit there for a long time. There are lots of plug sockets upstairs if you want to plug in your laptop or charge your phone. The staff are pleasant and cheerful. There are more comfortable seats upstairs than downstairs and they have a few seats outside if you want some fresh air. It is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside.
The only snag is that you need to watch the step upstairs, I’ve been caught outside a few times. Also, watch the stairs because they are very steep, I’ve seen a young lady fall down those stairs.
There are toilets upstairs but you will need a combination to use them.

Nice pub just a short walk from Angel Station.
It’s a reasonably large space, split across two floors, and with some good outdoor seating space for nice summer day.
They have a good selection of beers on tap, and they serve classic pub food, all pretty good. It is a good place some fish and chips on a Friday, or Sunday roast.
The service is nice and friendly, making the a very nice place to frequent.

One of the best pubs I've been in UK! Amazing staff, super food, very nice decoration! The people who work there are amazing, super helpful, very easy going and funny! We tried veggie roasty, fish and chips burger and desserts! We loved everything and super lucky to have our last lunch in UK before leaving :)

Used to be a lot more cosy and nice, but still a decent pub in the area even if more noisy than it used to be. Best thing about it is the toilets and the little fountain they have.
Worth popping in and staying if it’s quiet, otherwise it’s worth moving on somewhere else.

The current incarnation/ownership is better than it was a few years ago, which is when I was last here. We came for Sunday lunch. It was full (and the Six Nations was on), but the Italian manager (I think his name was Cosmos) somehow had time for everyone while being really efficient. Good fish and chips. I'll come against

Stumbled across The Angelic today and what a great find. We really fancied a roast but hadn’t booked anywhere and it was delicious. Great value for money, especially for Angel, big portions and super tasty - didn’t take pics of the dessert as we devoured so rapid but the brownie was 10/10.
The only tiny downside was not being told things that weren’t available when we sat down, but that’s just because we got our hopes up about the crab tacos, as it’s a fab menu. We had the haddock croquettes instead and our daughter wants to go back to have them again!
Very family friendly, shows footy and peng food. Will be going back for sure.

So we only live down the road & always miss this place as it’s only open Mon-Fri (we work weekdays) but really wanting to try it! We finally got the chance today & we weren’t disappointed at all. The customer service was 10/10! We mentioned it was our first time & was told we could have a mixture of rice & noodles with either (£6.50 small box - 1 topping) or (£9 medium box - 2 toppings)! We got one of each size, let me tell you it was great value off money. We got the Malaysian Chicken Curry, Roast Pork & Hot & Chilli Chicken. 2 x Chicken Spring Rolls & 3 x Fried Fish! Everything was AMAZING! Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back very soon! Looking forward to the summer selections 😁
