Karine was the most fabulous host! So many amazing vegan options, as well as meat options too. I had the vegan special, and the pancakes were perfection! Everything was infused with so much flavor and love. Karine took our food over on a trolly, filled with fresh fruit/ vegetables and made our experience extra special. We will definitely be back! ❤️

The best discovery we've made in Toronto! The lady who takes order is the nicest person ever! The service and the food were amazing. I don't think I've ever eaten more fresh fruits in a restaurant before, the strawberries were amazing! I took a waffle and the texture was on point. I would move to Toronto only to eat there more often haha we will try our best to come back and will tell everyone we know to go there too!

Karine's is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. Located in the Village by the Grange food court and run by an absolutely delightful mother and daughter, they serve a variety of fresh brunch options. Every plate is vibrant with fresh and nicely prepared fruit. I'm a big fan of their combo that comes with hummus and bomba — they both taste so good, and the pita chips that come with it are the perfect texture.
I'd highly recommend Karine's, both for the fresh and delicious food as well as some of the best customer service in the city.

Almost 40 years in business Joanna and Jeanette grew up in their parents restaurant which they now call theirs. It’s so awesome. Like the Jewish deli these old school spots are getting harder to find and need our support. I love Hakka food and their dry chili chicken is bomb! Then again all the food is super delicious. I love a good sizzling plate and don’t hate me but won ton skins and red sauce rock!
Have a visit and show a little support for the ones who have lasted so long.

Delicious, huge portions per plate, mine was $15 braised beef with veggies. Can request for extra veggies for an extra fee of $3. Busy during lunch time bet 11:30am-1pm. I went at 2pm to dine in then also ordered take out. I am always satisfied every time I visit.

This is the one of the first Hakka restaurants in Toronto. They have the best chili chicken. Haven’t been here in a very long time. Was in TO and decided to drop by. The food is still top notch and the chili chicken what it’s suppose to be. Lots of Hakka places around but they do chili chicken different. This is the original. Portion is good and the prices still reasonable. They make Hakka dishes not on the menu and it’s as good as I rember.
Quakabee - 3 months ago
Extremely lackluster chili chicken. The chicken pieces are not marinated in anything. Swimming in bland gravy. Not good Hakka. The hot sauce provided is weak and overly salty. No pickled chili. Their only “hakka” items on the menu are the chili Chicken, chicken pakora, and the Manchurian chicken. Everything else is just regular Cantonese restaurant fare. This place is NOT Hakka. Its basically just a Cantonese restaurant.

On Saturday afternoon, a week after attending WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, I had lunch with my family (there was 6 of us). For about 19 years, since I joined my wife and her Hakka Chinese family, I always wanted to go! The food and service was absolutely excellent! We even had a chance to meet one of the owners as well who was kind, courteous and positive. So pleasant and amazing to be around her aura. We ordered Crispy Beef, Chilli Chicken Dry, Foong Mee Mein, Baby Bok Choy, Chicken Pakora and steamed rice. If I am ever downtown by Sankofa Square, I will definitely try to order from again!!!!

Amazing selection of European beers, well above pub grade food. The bratwurst sausage with gravy was yummy. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, quick and friendly. Will come again!

Despite the noisy ambiance, my experience was truly remarkable as I indulged in an array of outstanding drinks. The highlight of my evening was the refreshing selection of 100 different cold beers that tantalized my taste buds and left me feeling thoroughly satisfied.

Great selection of beers!
However, i heard the selection wasnt as big as before
Had this amazing Liefmans Fruitesse beer - very interesting fruity beer
Service was quick and easy!
I was here friday evening at 4:30 and not much going on

too noisy for conversation but pleasantly quaint. service is good. the ambiance is eastern EU. do not expect a schnitzel like figlmuller of vienna (AT); however, schnitzel is still your best shot.
(draft) beer must be the "raison d'etre" to come here. all beers are sorted by country on the menu. my favorites were czechvar lager (CZ) and delirium tremens (BE) which i had never seen anywhere in the world served on tap. final 2 points for which i am grateful: (1) all beers are served in their own branded glasses; (2) cloth napkins.
conclusion: high Q/P

We used to come quite often. The sushi was varied, wonderfully tasty and presented beautifully. We came several times for the Omakase - but would ask in advance for just fish and vegetarian - no other seafood, shellfish, etc., In the past, the restaurant was very accommodating and the meal was a wonderful experience - unique and artistic. We went back recently - with a week's advance notice about dietary restrictions - and they agreed. When we showed up, we couldn't eat half the dishes that were brought to us, even though we had gone over a list in advance. The dishes we could eat were decent but not particularly artistic or inventive. The cost was super high and we were still charged full freight even though we couldn't eat several dishes. It may still be fine to order regular sushi dishes (the sushi was fine - tasty and fresh) but this Omakase experience was nowhere near what it used to be and was not really worth the cost. Not sure I'm running to go back even though it used to be one of my favourite sushi places in the area.

Restaurant was recommended by my co-worker. Came here with some friends at lunchtime on a Saturday. The place was quite small with only a few tables. A few tables were seated with people when we walked in. There was only one waitress serving so it took awhile for us to place our order. We ordered the Japango Starter, which consisted of gyoza, agedashi tofu, California roll, and tempura roll. We also ordered the salmon rolls, dynamite rolls, and dragon rolls. The gyoza arrived hot and fresh. The dumpling skin was nice and crispy. The agedashi tofu was also fried nicely as it tasted crispy. The rolls tasted fresh, but I'm only giving 4 stars because I have had fresher sushi.

Super tiny, squishy restaurant but the food is delicious. The deluxe chirashi was amazing and had the freshest fish I've had in a while, and the rice was perfectly warm and seasoned. I'd like to come back for lunch next time!

Service is lacking. It used to be better. Not sure if the management changed but the food quality and service is going downhill. I had sushi #2 lunch special($26) and thought it wasn’t worth the price. It was mediocre and the fish was little on the dry side. Not likely to come back.
Jane B - 4 months ago
Went in for a quick dinner before movies. The place was cozy and intimate, does remind me of some small family restaurants in Japan. The menu offers a wide range of sushi, sashimi and rolls. I ordered the chirashi supreme, which included about 12 pieces of sashimi (you should ask about the selection of the day!), 2 pieces of tamago, shiitake and ikura on warm sushi rice. The portion was nice and the sashimi were fresh. It also came with miso soup and a salad. If I wasn’t in a rush I would probably have tried some of the desserts too! Hopefully will come back again to try other items!

Came here with my coworkers for lunch. Excellent service, Mamun was very accommodating for our group of 20+ people. Food was great for the price- my favourite was the chicken chili and mushroom. Naan bread was fantastic and freshly made. Atmosphere was cozy with nice furniture and tasteful instrumental music. Would highly recommend for a peaceful and tasty lunch!

We had this place recommended to us and decided to try the lunch buffet. The selection was great and the food was solid. The tandoori chicken and the chana were my favorites, but the butter chicken and the paneer were just missing a certain something. The gulab jamun was the best I've ever eaten though, and the workers there were great. They made a couple of dishes especially for us separate from the buffet

Wonderful food. Had gone with a gang of girls. Mamun and his team did a last moment entry for us for the buffet. Loved the service, hot naan, hot gulab jamun, not to miss the array of delicious Indian food. Goat curry, chole, papri chaat, butter chicken, paneer pasanda,..... Dil kush kardia. Definitely a must visit for buffet.

Shady place.
Doesn’t have prices on the menu, went there expecting the sandwiches to be $6-8, turned out to be $14.
They don’t have prices on their menu.
The sandwich was like an airport sandwich dry and didn’t have much taste and too much bread in proportion to the filling.
It comes with a small side of salad which was decent but the dressing from the salad leaked all over the sandwich.
Go across the street to the food court, you will be much happier with the food

I’m a fan of salads that aren’t lettuce-based, and Cafe Plenty delivered. My half-chickpea and half-Greek orzo salad is really refreshing, filling, and tasty. It’s got a sort of sweet kick to it. Also I love plain black coffee/lattés, and the iced oat milk latté is one of the best I’ve had compared with other plain lattés I’ve had. I think maybe the oat milk is creamier than usual here? Only wish the place was bigger but they do have cute benches to sit at.

Had a nice breakfast before heading out for a busy weekend. Don't know if she is the owner, but had a super lovely lady serve us. Place was spacious, chill, quiet and had a great selection of drinks and breakfast options too. I liked that the credit card machine didn't ask for separate tips upon paying. Food was good. Would go often if it were closer to me.

I personally enjoy coming here for a coffee break mid-day. Depending on what time of day you drop by, it can get busy.
The coffees and Americanos are pretty good. The vibe and ambiance is nice and soothing. It’s generally very calm, and the staff are so kind and friendly. Nice place to catch up with colleagues or meet with friends, or even to fit in a quick focus session.

Go to spot after visiting the AGO. The Bianca pizza is the specialty, they prepare it fresh in 8 minutes after order. The interior decor is excellent and is pretty clean, but there was some pizza sauce that was left on the table when we came😔...

We had a pizza order for a company event that cancelled on us last minute. I called up Pizzaiolo at 299 Dundas Street West with a rush order for 16 pizzas in an hour. Not only did they deliver with excellent pizza, their service was first class. If I could give the service a 6 star I would. Their entire staff was helpful and courteous.

This spot is GREAT!!! The vibe is unique and this is a fun place to be on a lively night in the city. The menu is large and the food was delicious. You can order many platters for the table and share with a large group of friends or family! Staff was friendly but it was very busy when we went so things were a little slow but overall still a great time. Highly recommend you visit here!

One of the best Izakaya spots downtown. Their sashimi mix was delicious, they used very good fish. Their torched salmon sushi was also fantastic. We also got their half dried horse mackerel grilled fish, one of the best in Toronto. The skin is nice and crispy while the meat is still soft and fatty, it was not very salty. Highly recommend this place, the atmosphere is amazing.

Busy little spot! Definitely come early if you can. The vibe is amazing here. The food is great, especially after a few drinks, haha. The only downside was that the homemade gyoza was a bit burnt and fell apart. Other than that, all the other food was amazing. Will be back again for sure! :)

It has a nice ambiance but they have loud music playing if that's your thing. The food there was good but nothing special. We ordered the seafood platter which was expensive but tasteless. Just raw fish and some wasabi with no other seasoning. We had the raw octopus and grilled pork which were quite good. The chicken skewers were a bit bland.
