Toronto Zoo
The Toronto Zoo is a great place for the entire family to spend a day
The Toronto Zoo covers a massive 300 hectares and has over 5000 animals making it one of the largest zoos in the world.
The Zoo is designed with the goal of providing you with a great viewing experience while maintaining a comfortable and natural habitat for the animals. It is divided into six different geographic regions representing Indo-Malaya, Africa, Canadian Domain, Americas, Eurasia, and the latest addition, Tundra Trek. There is also an educational water park called Splash Island, an outdoor theatre called Waterside Theatre where demonstrations are held, and a Kids Zoo where children can mingle and interact with a variety of different animals.
The Toronto Zoo works with other accredited zoos throughout the world to help conserve and breed endangered species. Many animals come to the zoo through rescue efforts.
The Zoo is open rain or shine to the public every day except Christmas. One can easily spend a full day exploring the Zoo and the surrounding Rouge Park.
Tip: You can bypass the lineups and save almost 50% on admission to the Toronto Zoo and 4 other 'must see' Toronto attractions by purchasing a Toronto CityPASS prior to your vacation.
