5 Star Rating Back alley classic London pub hidden in a narrow lane of the City. Superb London street drinking. Dark wood Victorian city pub interior. Excellent larger than it looks, split level drinking hall with plenty of open space, quiet corners and mix of vintage, leather studded, wood framed corner benches and high stools. Wood panelled walls and brilliant wood beamed ceiling. Glass paned and balustrades divide the space creating and open feeling, yet secluded and private corners. Excellent, retained features and layout allow you to imagine pub history from over a hundred years ago. Well balanced sounds, an place for open chat with groups, this pub has character on tap.

5 Star Rating Louis totally took care of us. We showed up just before they put down food service and he made sure the kitchen got our order in. Cleared off and reserved a table for me and my son so we didn't have to eat at a side bar. The experience was top notch, beer was delightful, food was pub food. Will definitely be back.

4 Star Rating I had a moment so went here for some food. This is located down a little alleyway. Unfortunately, the grill wasn't working at the time so I couldn't get the burger I was craving. But I must admit that I really enjoyed the salad. The staff were lovely. I arrived at 11.40, by 12.15, it had become very busy. The toilets were clean but quite small.

5 Star Rating 🚇 Bank 🍺 £6.40 Moretti ❤️ An historic city pub that will transport you back in time. . The uniquely named Old Doctor Butler's Head is located in Moorgate in the City of London. This pub is not easy to find as it is tucked away down a narrow side street called Masons Avenue. The nearest tube stations are Bank & Moorgate, both are a five minute walk away. . There has been a pub on this site since 1610 with the current building established in 1666 just after the great fire of London. The bulk of this building is 19th century, the setting and building make for a Dickensian feel. . The decor here is dark and atmospheric, this pub has a similar vibe to the brown café’s of Amsterdam. The ground floor bar has a raised seating area at the back and the main bar area for drinkers at the front. There is also another bar and dining area on the upper floors for those in need of sustenance. . This is a Shepherd Neame pub which has a good beer selection with four cask ales available at the time of visiting. I was served by a lovely lady who poured my pint of Moretti with a smile, my pint was decent and price point was to be expected. The food menu is full of hearty British pub classics, there is also a good assortment of sandwiches for city worker clientele that need a quick bite at lunchtime. . I visited just after 4pm on a Friday and the pub was starting to fill up with suits from the swathes of surrounding offices. This is such an atmospheric boozer, whether inside or out you get that feeling of old world charm. . The @olddoctorbutlers was an excellent visit and I loved the old London Dickensian charm that oozes from its pores. This pub isn’t open at weekends if you’re planning a visit here, but be sure to visit this superb London pub. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 19/08/22

5 Star Rating I went for a Christmas booking with sit down meal served in the upstairs function room. The setting is great, it's an ancient boozer and it looks it (in the nicest possible way!). The venue has plenty of history. Staff were attentive and kept checking on us. The food was surprisingly good and well worth the set menu price. We shared our room with another party but didn't feel on top of each other at all. Recommended for an intimate function.

3 Star Rating I made a booking through The Fork because of an introductory offer of £20 off the bill that was not honoured at check out where I was charged the full amount. Also weird that a meat restaurant of this kind does not provide adequate cutlery for big pieces of meat. I don’t think I will repeat the experience,

5 Star Rating One of those places where you can sit down in a fancy places, order a high quality steak and some wine, and enjoy the evening. The steaks are absolutely delicious: cooked to perfection, exactly how we asked. Very high quality cuts! The sauces were super on par with the quality: the bearnaise is one of the best, and I personally love the peppercorn. The fries were a bit disappointing: had a lot of super small pieces, nothing extraordinary with the taste. And to send it all with a blast.. the desserts were out of this world. We got both the sticky toffee pudding and the peanut butter and it was so hard to decide which was better.. super flavourful, many compliments for them :)

5 Star Rating We had two and one pint of Jubel, with their green curry and steak pie. The beer and the meals were both awesome. Not to large, not too salty, plenty of flavor. The beer was refreshing and perfect after w day exploring London. Brilliant service from a very friendly staff. If you see and friendly Romanian with a fantastic mustache - you're in good hands. Music is a great play list of slick 90s memories. Atmosphere is what I would want out of any pub in the area. Well priced, very similar to what we'd pay back home in Canada. For the same food and service. Recommend. 5/5 Top Shelf

5 Star Rating I came for taste film - home alone. Overall great experience and concept which was well executed. A few dishes were great (first “milk” cocktail, Mac&cheese) but the pizza was disappointing (soggy and lacking flavour) and the candy-cane cocktail was overly sweet to the point that nobody in my group could finish drinking it. I would come again though, the experience and friendliness of the team still made it worth it to me. They also did a great job accommodating my friend with celiac.

5 Star Rating I came here for the TasteFilm Dirty Dancing screening by myself. Firstly, the staff were so welcoming and guided me to my table. They went over dietary requirements and made sure everything was set. The timing of the food and drink were spot on with the scenes, and it was cute having a menu too which showed what I was eating/drinking and when to expect it. The atmosphere was relaxed and I had enough room on the table and on my sofa. Highly recommended and I can't wait to visit again in September!

The queue to pick up the coffee can be a bit haphazard and annoying, but they always get the order correct and it's worth it. The breakfast pots are tasty too - the avocado and egg pot is healthy without being dull to eat. The sourdough breakfast baguette is actually as well filled and tasty as the menu photo suggests!

Quantity was enough if one wants to have a 'light meal'. Very yummy! Could enjoy every bit of it and didn't realise how it got finished so quickly. Also, everywhere in this food joint, various sauces/dressings etc are kept. The menu was terrific. Would go there many times to try all its dishes. It was not very expensive but normally priced.

4 Star Rating My brother in law recommended the Flying Horse as a venue for a family meet up. Conveniently situated near Liverpool St station, and we were able to book a table for seven attendees. It wasn't overly busy for a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was quite relaxed, with a varied crowd. The drinks menu pretty much had something for everyone, and was reasonably priced(for London). The only gripe was that the food took a while, and was short on advertised ingredients(no mushy peas served with the pie and mash, one meat topping on a pizza instead of 3). This was raised, but no response was received, nor any reason given. I guess that as it was fairly late in the day, some of the ingredients ran out. Despite this issue, the food was delicious, and we'd definitely go back there.
