The London Coliseum

London Coliseum is the home of the English National Opera

London Coliseum which is also commonly called the Coliseum Theatre, was built in 1904 with the goal of be finest and largest entertainment venue of that day.

From 1931 through 1968 the theatre hosted 651 performances of White Horse Inn, a musical comedy. For a short period from 1963 until 1968 it became one of three Cinerama Theatres in London after which it became home to the Sadler's Wells Opera Company which has since become the English National Opera. They still operate the London Coliseum Theatre today. The London Coliseum underwent major renovations from 2000 to 2004, but still has most of its original features.

Today the Coliseum presents world-class contemporary and theatrical operas from both the English National Opera and visiting companies.
